Blackberry + PocketMac + Address Book = ?

Hey guys,
Short and to the point, I have a Blackberry 8830 with Verizon, is there any way to get my entire Address Book into my phone? Not the other way around. They couldn't transfer the numbers from my old BB to the new one. But I have all of the numbers in my Mac and I want to somehow sync it back over to my phone. I have PocketMac. Is this possible? Thanks so much in advance.

The only Blackberry software I'm familiar of for the Mac is made by http://www.pocketmac.net/
Ask them if this is possible.

Import the contacts to a supported contact application on your computer, then sync them to your iPhone.

  • Synching Blackberry and Address Book which  just works: impossible dream?

I've got a Blackberry 8200g which synchs well with my office Lotus Notes setup. I'd like to be able to synch the office contacts book (but not email) with my home Mac's Address Book, with synching of Calendar a bonus, but not crucial.
PocketMac Synchmanager kept bringing over only some information, and only in one direction (i.e. not onto the work computer), and seemed to forget some of the information it had brought over previously.
Missing Synch seems to require me to turn off wireless synchronisation every time I want to synch the mac with the blackberry.
Just wondered if it was feasible to find a piece of software that just works - these shouldn't be complex databases to try and mesh - without tweaks etc and without costing the earth.
Any ideas from wiser folks who've been down this road already?

Not sure if this will help with your sync issues or not, but take a look at the link below.

  • BlackBerry Z10 - Address Book SMS/Email Distribution List

Will the BlackBerry Z10/Q10 have available the Address Book SMS and Email Distribution List's feature as it did with its predecessors?  This feature is built into the Address Book and does not sync with Outlook.

I can't believe there is no distribution list on the new blackberry 10 system. I use distribution lists every day. This may be a deal breaker for this phone. Why not support something so simple?

  • Transfer contacts from blackberry to address book?

I have a blackberry with 1500+ contacts in it and i want to put them into my mac address book. does anyone know how i would do this?

If you can get the Contacts out of your Blackberry as vCards then it is easy to double-click and import them into the Mac Address Book.
The application below may help with this task:
    http://www.blackberryinsight.com/2007/04/08/use-vcard-vcalendar-icalendar-attach ments-with-your-blackberry/
Also search on Google for 'blackberry vcard' for other possibilities.

  • Blackberry Storm - Address Book Corrupt?

Contacts are either starting to disappear or can't be editted.  Why is that?  If I can find the contact, but want to make an update...  I get the following error message.
    Error Message:
Contact updated externally.  Changes will be lost and viewer closed.
If the contact is missing, sometimes I can find that missing contact if I go through the call history and view the contact info from that old entry, but I noticed that all new calls either called or received don't list the name in call history no more.  What's going on?  I don't have a very large address book, it has less than 300 entries...  Is there a utility to fix the corrupted address book database?  That's what I'm assuming is the problem...  Why do contacts disappear in the address book, but I can later find them if I go through a round about method of access via call history nor can I edit them?

  • Address Book / PocketMac / BlackBerry syncing issue

    Hi folks:
Wonder if anyone's expertise could help illuminate what's going on with my setup. I had a BlackBerry synced with Outlook on my old PC, which I recently replaced with a new MacBook. I was able to use PocketMac to easily sync my BlackBerry with Address Book and Mail on the new MacBook- or so I thought.
Turns out there are some fields included with contacts in my BlackBerry that do not appear with the corresponding contact entry in Address Book. For instance, a given contact will have four or five phone numbers listed on the BlackBerry, with only two or three on the Address Book. I thought that by syncing the two devices I would get an exact match for the data on each one. Was I wrong?
Any ideas? Any setting I can change, or workarounds I can use to make the information complete on both devices?
    Thanks!
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   PocketMac/BlackBerry

When you go through the sync process, do you see any records that the sync recognizes and says it will move to your Mac?
    What happens during the sync?

  • How to use Desktop Manager to synchronize several address books?

Customer found on BlackBerry device - address book options - there's 2 Desktop under Address Books. How to specify which address book will be synchronized with outlook via desktop manager as  a wired sync?

Your having this issue, because at first, your blackberry was trying to sync via the BES, then you hooked it up to the desktop manager. The desktop managed then tried to sync the device over the wire via the desktop manager and turned of wireless sync, how do you wanna sync, wirelessly, or through the BES?
If you wanna do it through the BES, you have to delete desktop cmime, desktop sync and desktop cical and resent those from the server to get wireless sync back.
to get to servic book, go to settings/options/advanced options/service book and scroll to these service books and delete them, then from the bes manager, repush service books will resent them, this  can take up to 15 minutes though.
If you wanna sync via the wire, just sync with the desktop manager, you should not be trying to do both
If someone helped you give them kudos. Research all info!

  • How to Sync Address Book, iCal and Safari bookmarks with Blackberry Storm

I recently purchased a Blackberry Storm and have been trying to sync my Address Book, iCal and Safari bookmarks without any luck. I downloaded the PocketMac SyncManager from BlackBerry but the sync fails when I connect the Storm to my MacBook Pro. Any suggestions as to how one gets this to work?

  • Blackberry 8330 Syncing Contacts with Mac Desktop Address Book

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue with PocketMac.  I have been able to sync my calendar with iCal, and Tasks, but PocketMac never finishes the sync with the Contacts.  I left it on all night and it still hadn't finished.  I finally have to cancel the operation.  I'm not getting any error messages; the sync just never completes.  Any ideas?  Could it be that the changes to the Address Book will really take 24 hours or longer to complete?  Thanks for any and all help!

    Hello,
you are asking a question that concerns the Apple Mac world. I strongly advice you to post your question in the "Blackberry for Mac" board. You will find there many contributors who have the knowledge to answer you quickly.

  • Address Book and Blackberry

I love Address Book, but with Apple's announcement that they will be including sync for Blackberries, it would be great if Address Book had a field to include other Blackberry users' PINs, such as other IM applications.

If either of you guys figure this out I'd love to hear. I've got a BB 7130 that was syncing great with my powerbook...until I updated to Tiger. Then it wouldn't even detect my Blackberry. I uninstalled and reinstalled Pocketmac and upon the first sync, and each subsequent sync--like yours my ical syncs just fine but I can't get it do to anything, either way with my addressbook. And it generates an error message of "bad default category length" each time as well.
On another note, my addressbook was on the fritz before I upgraded to Tiger and still is--in that any time I try to print mailing labels, suddenly it creates duplicates and sometimes triplicates of names, only for labels--no such problem with lists or in the main view.

  • Blackberry curve 8320 and MacBook pro address book issue.....

I have a BB Curve 8320 and MacBook pro and am currently using PocketMac for synching. My address book contacts have all been copied onto my blackberry except for the e mail field on each of the contacts. Very strange- names, addresses, phone numbers- all okay...no e mails???? Any thoughts. No other issues also with calendar synchs, etc.

  • How do I sync my address book in my Mac to iPhone instead of my old blackberry

I stopped using the Backup Assistant over a year ago because it wouldn't backup the email addresses onto my blackberry even though it showed in Backup Assistant.
Now I got a new iPhone 4S and I want to use my Address Book in my Mac to the iPhone. How do I sync it to my Address Book?
How does that differ in syncing with iTunes?
    I already have iCloud.
Should I sync it to iCloud or my Mac Address Book (which really is already synced with iCloud, I think)?
I'm afraid to activate my iPhone until I have these questions answered.
    Can someone help me?

I don't have a Mac but on my windows if I go into my phone info on iTunes when plugged in I go to contacts and there are choices to choose from like gmail and windows then sync.  I assume when it's done on a max there is the same option on iTunes. If you go to iCloud.com and sign in you can check to see if your contacts are there. If you activate your phone it won't ruin what you have. It will ask you if you want to back up to what you have if there is anything. If you don't back up you can even if you say start fresh. I would go to an apple store if those things don't check out.
