BlackBerry says that the same old SIM that I reinsterted is new and doesn't recognise my BlackBerry ID

This problem has never happened to me before. Today I simply took out my SIM card and reinserted it into my BlackBerry. Then a blue, inescapable screen came up wrongly telling me that I have inserted a new SIM card and asking for my BlackBerry ID login.
In a vain attempt to solve the first part of the problem I reinsterted by SIM card several times. To solve the second part of the problem, I cliked the "forgot password" link after which I received an infuriating message stating that the "request cannot be completed". Therefore, I used my PC to go online and reset my BlackBerry ID password. I checked sevreral times that the new password works online, however, when I tried it on my BlackBerry it didn't accept it.
I don't know what else to do; my day has been made miserable because of this stupid problem.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Your issue indeed is strange, which of course would lead to frustration...I can understand that. To start, please see this "sticky" post for helpful information concerning your BBID situation:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-World/How-to-regain-access-to-your-BBID/td-p/25467...
Perhaps something in there will be more useful.
It is also possible that your SIM card and/or SIM card reader has gone bad...in which case you'd need to contact your SIM card provider and/or device support provider for assistance. If it were me, I'd see about a replacement SIM to start and see if that clears it up. If not, then I'd seek formal device-level support from my device-support provider (which could be your carrier, a shop, or some other entity from which you obtained your device).
Cheers, and Good Luck!
