Blackberry Software Won't Recognize 8100

Hello, I just recently bought a Blackberry Pearl 8100 and I wanted to be able to connect it to my computer so I downloaded the newest software release of the desktop manager with media manager (though I think I didn't install it) and when I connect my blackberry, it says that it isn't connected.
Windows seems to have trouble recognizing it.
Any solutions would be great, thanks.

Its always fun playing with something new.

Note: This topic was moved from 'Safari.'
When I try to format my ipod shuffle with the iPod shuffle and I plug in the shuffle as requested, my software won't recognize the device!!!! Can anyone tell me what to do?

    Karen,
You have asked your question in the discussion forum for the Macintosh Safari browser. You should go to the iPod Shuffle/Windows forum and ask your question there and you will probably get a faster answer then here.

  • Fingerprint software won't recognize my fingerprints

    Hi,
I installed window 7 64bit (using upgrade cd from the upgrade to win7 program)
    Installed all updates (windows)
However, the fingerprint software won't recognize my fingerprints -.-
The first two are fine, but the third one never works, it is the same story for all my fingers...
I HAD the program working perfectly before I reinstalled my OS
For some reason I seem to recall the same problem last time I had to reinstall, don't remember what i did to fix it
    any advice?
Thank you for your time and help!
    edit:
    To add some details:
    It was working before
The hardware is not the issue (it reads my fingers)
It's software or just my DNA changes my fingerprints -.-
I don't remember what software/version I downloaded last time, but I search online on this site and found the newest software
Also, the face program is not working either
It was working before I reinstalled OS
Is it just me or all the security programs just not liking me -.-

    Thanks for responding
Just want to point out I mention clean install
So point 1 wasn't too useful
I also mention I updated everything (windows and downloading the newest already)
And since the problem is not being able to enroll fingerprints, point 3 isn't valid either
after a night of no sleep being trying to get the little piece of hardware to work-.-
Here's my solution, which I hope will help people
    Things to note:
    1. Toshiba fingerprint utility (1.02 something) and truesuite (version 2.0.0.57. something) are two different programs
On the tecra download site (canada) (andall window 64bit fingerprint I found on the US site) the program is Toshiba fingerprint utility
It has a few neat features such as file locking, auto ie password
However, it has the major problem of giving you a tough time to enroll (after 30 minutes of just swiping my finger, it FINALLY worked..for ONE finger -.-, wasn't able to repeat the process with other fingers -.-)
Also it is "buggy" and it slows down your system IMO
    2. Using windows update (keep pressing updated after the first few times)
You get an optional Authen Tec update
Don't choose it, if you like the file locking part of the Toshiba program or u will be like me, unable to log in at ALL (even using password)
If you do mess up and can't log in at all (not being able to click or press enter for your password), go to safe mode, and use system restore
(for some reason turning off services/start up using msconfig didn't work :S suppose it would work using command line -.-)
    3. You will see that there are now two softwares
first one is the toshiba fingerprint (default)
second one is the "updated" one
    Uninstall everything (both programs)
    Restart
Use windows updated again and install the new one
    If should work
    and by chance it doesn't
Go to Control/hardware/bio and turn it off, click apply, and turn it back on again
The "new" version is really a downgrade
It works well, recongized my fingerprints with no problems
    No system tray/startup program
    And IMO it's a lot stable/faster
However there is NO other feature, no file locking (if u have files locked...don't update)
Another thing to add, it doesn't conflict with comodo defense (the toshiba one does)
So bascially, after losing a night's sleep over something really trival...
don't update, stick with the "old" default version and add the updated version in windows updated in the ignore section
The old version will eventually get one of your fingerprints, plus u get the file locking part (the old version is basically the paid version of the new upgrade version)
OR don't download from toshiba website and use the window update version (the stripe down version, where u need to pay to have the features of the old version

  • Software won't recognize my Zen

Software won't recognize my ZensI tried to upgrade my firmware and after the the program removed the old firmware. Then software no longer sees my zen connected to the computer to install the new firmware, but my computer can see my zen and it shows connected on the display. Even charges. The cord is good. I paid almost $300.00 for it 4yrs ago and it has reached it service life end. So creative labs says. So your supposed to spend $00.00 - 300.00 every couple of years. That is BS. If you look all over this site you will find that almost everyone also has a problem with the player connecting the the software. Creative has a problem that needs fixed. • Software won't recognize Ipod on installation

I installed my original Ipod software and when it gets to the point in the installation and asks you to plug in the Ipod, I do and windows says "new hardware found iPOD" but the software doesn't recognize it. It doesn't give me the option to format all I can do is click the box that says plug in iPod later. If I do that and finish installing software it won't find iPod then either but windows still does.
    Thanks for your help

Well I finally fixed my problem, I dropped itunes and have started using MediaMonkey http://www.mediamonkey.com/ which comes with ipod support that actually works(unlike my itunes).

  • Software won't recognize SX50

I have a Powershot SX50 HD and the software doesn't recognize my camera ... says camera not found. I am running on a Mac Mini with the latest OS Mavericks.

I had come to that conclusion as well, and thought I should try to reinstall the software, and will as soon as I can find the original software disk. In the meantime, I bought a universal card reader for $12, and plugged it into my computer. It works great, and brings the pictures up in the Canon software. The reader has the additional advantage of being portable, so I can take it in my camera bag, and plug it into any computer. Thank you for looking into this for me!

  • BlackBerry Software won't stop "Working"

Everytime I plug in my BlackBerry Tour, the software reads "working" and it won't stop 'working." I tried to re-instal it, but failure as it would do the same thing over again. I need some help.

    Hello flufflogic,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums
Have you tried popping out your battery and reinserting it yet? In the past this is what has resolved the issue.
Otherwise you may want to go through this Clean uninstall reinstall process for Desktop Manager.
    Cheers!

  • Desktop software won't recognize 8350

    OK,
      New 8350, Desktop V6.0.1.18, Microsoft XP SP3
Connect via Bluetooth or cable (two different ones), every USB port.
Phone was recognized once and was able to sync my data once.  Since then I get the same error
BB desktop software cannot connect with device.  Device is either rebooting or has dead battery.
Interestingly BB desktop manager recognizes the blackberry device, XP device manager recognizes it.  All ports are powered with power management off.
I've done a clean install per KBxxxxx, done a battery pull.
I can't get the **bleep** software to work with the phone.  That's the whole point!

  • Software won't recognize SX50 camera

I installed the software, and uninstalled and reinstalled but the software still does not recognize my camera.  I know my computer does because it shows up in image capture.  Help!

Hello -- I had the same problem and just about 2 minutes ago, received the following info from support.  I was told that they are going to release an update making the software compatible with Mavericks and that it was to come out sometime around the end of November.  Because I need to make a plan around it, I wrote back for a closer approximation, since we are now into December.  Here is what I got in the email from Support:
Thank you for contacting Canon product support regarding software for your PowerShot SX50 HS camera.
Canon is conducting compatibility tests for the current versions of Canon digital imaging software with the shipping versions of the new Mac operating system.  Results will be posted soon at www.powershot.com.  For now, Canon is not claiming compatibility with this version of Mac OS.
Mac OS X 10.1 and newer come with Image Capture drivers that support most of Canon's digital cameras with USB interfaces.  When a compatible camera is connected to a compatible Mac computer running OS X 10.1 and newer, the computer detects the camera and automatically launches Image Capture.  This Apple program allows JPEG images in the camera to be downloaded to the Macintosh.  Try doing the following to download the images:
    1.  Click on your hard drive.
    2.  Open your APPLICATIONS folder.
    3.  Open the program that says IMAGE CAPTURE.
    4.  With Image Capture still open, click on the IMAGE CAPTURE menu, found on the top left corner of your screen, next to the Apple icon.
    5.  Select the option that reads PREFERENCES.
    6.  The dialogue box that appears should say something like "When camera connected open."  From the pull down menu select IMAGE CAPTURE and then close the window.
The next time you connect the camera to the USB and power it on in replay mode, Image Capture should come up and download picture files on the camera.
I haven't tried this yet.  Just thought I'd post this info while I had the time.  I hope it helps you.

  • Software won't recognize my super drive?

I just bought ILife 09, and tried to install IDVD.
I was grayed out telling me that I need a super drive in order to install IDVD.
The problem is that I do have a super drive!
Why is this happening, and how do I get this software to recognize my superdrive?

What model number is the S-Drive? Is it a pioneer drive? I'm assuming it is. Older drives sometime face a number of issues with the latest media choices (Dual Layer in particular). What are you using for media (DVD brand and speed)? Hopefully you are using Minus only single layer.
Apple has yet to address the 99 slide limitation within iDvd's slideshow. But honestly this has very little to do with apple and much more to do with set top dvd players 100 chapters limitation.
A few good Pioneer model choices for your own mac include but are not limited to: DVR-106, 109, 110D, 116D, etc.
You know, this is starting to look more and more like a firmware issue. But let's go ahead and dispose of the plist for iDvd regardless to see if this helps or not. And no, this will not hurt the current iDvd project. But you may need to address a few default preferences like the apple logo for instance which I don't particularly enjoy on my own projects. Hence I often don't select this preference. You may feel otherwise.
If the plist idea does zip, then let's also run apple's software updater now. Also I'd like you to review this BUT DON'T DO ANYTHING with it just yet.
Remove receipts and reinstall iLife applications
For Mac OS X version 10.5 Leopard:
    1. In the Finder, choose Applications from Go menu.
    2. Drag the application you are having issues with to the Trash.
    3. Go to your internal hard drive and open Library folder. Then, open the Receipts folder. Locate any receipts with names that begin with the iLife application you are having issues with; move these files to the Trash.
    4. Insert your iLife installation disc and install only the iLife application you previously dragged to the Trash. (You can select and install individual applications by clicking the Customize option under Installation Type).
    5. When finished, choose Software Update from the Apple () menu to update your software to the latest version.
For Mac OS X version 10.6 Snow Leopard:
    1. In the Finder, choose Applications from Go menu.
    2. Drag the application you are having issues with to the Trash.
    3. Insert your iLife installation disc and install only the iLife application you previously dragged to the Trash. (You can select and install individual applications by clicking the Customize option under Installation Type).
    4. When finished, use choose Software Update from the Apple () menu to update your software to the latest version.

  • Creative/Auzentech driver software won't recognize soundcard

Windows 10 9926 (Upgrade from previous public beta, not fresh install)
The soundcard software refuses to detect a valid Auzentech soundcard installed in my machine and thus refuses to operate/open. The drivers are installed without issue and work fine. I have tried the following to resolve the issue:
    1) Repair the software/driver installation. This process involves running the programs installer and choosing the "repair" option. This process involves a reboot after the repair is complete.
    2) Uninstall the drivers & software and reinstall it. This process involves a reboot after uninstalling but before re-installing.
    3) Uninstall the drivers & software via Device Manager, reboot the PC and then install the drivers.
The driver software (Console Launcher) continues to refuse to operate because it can't detect a valid Auzentech soundcard even though the drivers install without issue. It was working fine before the upgrade to the January build of Windows 10.

Figured it out, neither the official drivers nor the drivers provided by Youpax will properly work. You need to use the drivers provided by Daniel_k instead.

  • Creative software won't recognize Zen V plus

,C I am running Vista. Trying to transfer a playlist form the Creative Medisource 5 Organizer and when I click on Transfer Playlist it tells me the no Creative mp3 player is found. I can go to "Computer" and it shows up there and I can explore it through Windows. Is there something else I need to install?

After switching from Win XP to Vista I needed a new way to organize playlists on my Zen V Plus, and I just could not get used to Windows Media Player. Then I discovered MediaMonkey, and to me it is *so* much more intuiti've. I am using it mostly for podcasts, but it looks like it does just everything, and it is free.

  • Link won't recognize my new Classic

Just picked up my new Classic today.  As usual, ATT store had no idea it was even in today.  Anyway, I can get Link to recognize the Classic.  I was able to move my data over from my old 9900 but software won't recognize the Classic.  Suggestions?
    Thanks.

Check Windows Device Manager for yellow caution signs for any BB or Rim Drivers and try to update.
If the above does not help you should uninstall all drivers for BB or RIM listed in Device Manager, click View on the Menu in Device Manager then click Show hidden devices.
The drivers are usually found in these places, BlackBerry, Disk drives, DVD/CD, Modems (Standard modem only), Network Adapters, Ports.
Once all are uninstalled unplug your phone if it was plugged in and power OFF your computer (not restart), power ON your computer and wait 5 to 10 minutes before plugging in your phone.
Once you plugin your device wait another 10 min. before doing anything, BB software is slow and Windows is slow to recognize it so time is needed for drivers to install properly.
Even if Windows says drivers were installed still wait 10 min.
