Blackberry Storm 2 9550 on loop

Hi everyone,
I have this problem with my blackberry storm, hope anyone can help..
When I TURN ON my Blackberry, the LED lights ups steady in RED then after 10 to 15 seconds it will blackout.
Then the waiting icon will appear (the sand timer thing on start). It will be there for 10-15 seconds also then it will blackout..... Then it will go back to the same process, the LED lights went RED then blackout then sand timer then blackout... this went to loop like forever until the battery runs out...
what i've tried.
1. Pug it with the charger without the battery
2. Buy another battry
3. Charge the battery overnight
1, 2 and 3 does not work.
Can you help me on this.. Thank you in advance..

  • Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) Pairing Issue

This thread has probably been posted before, but if I'm having this problem then it is likely that others are as well.
I have a Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) and I cannot get it to connect to my car's factory-installed bluetooth system. When I try to add the car as a bluetooth device, it recognizes that there is a signal present (it will say "audio device"), but when I try to pair with the audio device it always fails. I have tried rebooting the phone (including battery removal), rebooting the car, and nothing seems to work.
I understand that my phone is not specifically listed as compatible with my vehicle (2007 Dodge Charger), but I have been able to pair other phones (approximately 7 different co-worker and family phones), and most of them were not listed as compatible. In fact, it seems as though this Storm 2 is the only phone that will not pair with it. This is extremely frustrating given the amount of money paid for this phone.
I pay the extra money for a premium phone so that I don't have to deal with these small issues. I expect the technology to be top-notch, and I expect that there would be no connectivity/compatibility issues. I am hoping that there is a solution to this, as I am not even close to qualifying for a phone upgrade, and my wife would hang me if I went out and dropped $500 on a new Droid.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you in advance!

Lets try 4 steps to resolve this issue.
1, Could I get you to power the phone off, remove and replace the battery to do a soft reset on the device.
    2. Then could I get you to dial *228 send and option 2 again in your home area to update the PRL.
    3. Next could I get you to try un-pairing the device and car then pairing the two again.
    4. After you have done this if still unsuccessful we can try a factory reset (after you have backed up your phone)
    a. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
    b. Click Security Options.
    c. Click General Settings.
    d. Press the Menu key.
    e. Click Wipe Handheld.
    f. To delete all third-party applications from your device, select the Include third-party applications check box.
    g. Click Continue.
    h. Type blackberry.

  • Blackberry Storm 2 9550 Needs adobe flash 10

I bought at Verizon the blackberry storm 2 , 9550 under the understanding that this phone would meet all of my needs, which I explained clearly. I need a phone that is enabled with Flash Player Browser and Java enabled. I precisely stated that since I deal in the stock market, I needed access to CNBC.com TV for financial news and also for other sites that would display Streaming charts.  To my dismay...It has been about 6 months and there is no existing flash player for the Blackberry storm 2.
If anyone can give me hope for the short future if RIM or Verizon or Adobe will be making such an application for web browser viewing, please post it here.
I have even attempted to see if SkyFire web browser would have any plans. But I am suspecting that there may be a lack of outstanding and effective programmers or not motivated enough to take this approach. I can't believe that Adobe management nor Verizon management has anything wrong to do with this.
If anyone knows of a Verizon phone that may take the adobe flash version 10 into a web browser is Java enabled... and can handle PDF files and Microsoft Office with Word , Excel, Access Database.....PLEASE CONTACT me. email: [email protected] or post here.
All I heard is that Verizon have ANDROID phone are are Adobe Flash enabled.  I just can't believe it, because they were the ones that told me that my Blackberry storm 2 would also be the one with those capabilities.

    Hi Mich,
It's unfortunate to hear about your Blackberry experience.
Good news, though, is that any Android phone that has Android 2.2 or later on it has support for Flash.  For Verizon, the current selection of smartphones (that I know of) that meet this criteria are:
         - Motorola Droid X
         - Motorola Droid 2
         - HTC Droid Incredible
    cheers,
    /Eric.

how to fix this issue please ?

I don't know what PagePlus is but if you removed your BB data plan then your device will no longer work.  Call your carrier and make sure you have the proper BlackBerry data plan on your account.

  • BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 Email setup problem

I have a Tmobile BlackBerry curve 3g originally with a BlackBerry plan (BIS) that has an email, internet, and blackberry messenger working perfectly. My question is, I would like to use my older Blackberry Storm 2 9550 (unlocked) with my present Tmobile BlackBerry plan. However, after the "device change" I could not move my emails perfectly as I would get errors setting up on Storm although I was able to have internet access, use bbm and gps under EDGE signal.
To fully understand the problem, I tried doing the same procedure onto my other unlocked Bold 9650 device and was able to move and synchronize emails, together with internet access, gps and bbm. I just do not understand why I could not move my emails onto Storm 9550 just like on the Bold 9650 which are basically the same unlocked CDMA phone.
    I have done the following:
-back up and restore (everything including service books from the present curve 3g to storm2)
-have done "register now" on host routing table on storm 2
-checked service books on storm2 and able to find "Email [CMIME]
-email setup would result to "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue"
-TCP/IP APN setting set to: epc.tmobile.com
    -Storm 9550 has v5.0.0.1015 (Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442
If you could please help me step by step I would really appreciate it. Thanks
    Marc

Hello marc1075 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your Email setup application.
Backup your device and do a security wipe (click here) and before any data is restored, click on Email settings. Does the same error occur?
Could you send me a private message with the PIN? I can investigate further for you.
    Thanks!

  • Using a Blackberry Storm 2 9550 with a Netgear wireless modem MBR624GU

Very recently I got the BlackBerry Storm2 (9550) and I have a Netgear 3G broadband wireless router, model# MBR624GU. I was using a USB720 modem and I would just plug it into the router and it would connect to the internet. I can tether the phone and connect to the internet on my desktop but I can't get it to work with the router. I (naive) thought I would be able to just plug the Storm 2 to my Netgear router and it would just connect - I was very wrong!!!! I have looked through a lot of posts but cannot find my particular problem. My first question is "Does the Blackberry Storm 2 work with the Netgear wireless router, model# MBR624GU? If it does, how do I get it to connect to the internet when I have the phone plugged into it? Thanks for any input!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm... Do I follow your post correctly that you are wanting to run the NetGear wireless router FROM the Storm, in order to broadcast the Wifi for your laptop to recieve the WiFi signal?
The Storm receives the WiFi signal, not the reverse.
    Like this:
DSL/Cable signal with Internet >> Router >> WiFi signal >> BlackBerry Storm.
    Not the reverse.

  • Blackberry Storm 2 9550 Picture/video Messages

I bought theis brand new unlocked phone...
I am on the BELL network here in Canada
There is no option to send a picture message or really anything other than basic SMS
    And
I cannt receive anything along those lines either???
My package includes picture and video messaging but it is going to waste as I cannot do anything with it
    Please help!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
With BlackBerry, MMS (that's what "picture messaging" technically is) is enabled by delivery to the BB of specific Service Books for it. To get those, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Troubleshooting BIS in BB storm 2 9550

My Blackberry Storm 2 9550 is not able to get EDGE on the phone so i am not able to use BIS it was previously on Verizon but I unlocked it.It was working properly but after six months of purchase.I am not able to register neither on vodafone server nor on blackberry or host routing table, service books are also not available.... I tried it with other sim cards of different service providers then to it is not working.I tried each and everything which service provider told like battery pull, restart, security wip etc. Please HEL ME

I"m not fully understanding the words you are posting, so let's see if I am interpreting correctly:
    1) You have a VZW 9550
    2) The 9550 is unlocked from VZW, as validated by this:
    http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/How_do_I_determine_if_my_BlackBerry_is_%22unlocked%22%3F
    3) You have a SIM from Vodafone India, that you wish to use in the 9550, locally in India
    4) It worked fine for 6 months on Vodafone India, but has recently stopped working
If I have that correct, here is what I suspect happened. When you unlocked it and put the Vodafone India SIM into it, it properly registered to Vodafone India. But, your BIS-level services did not get shut down from VZW. Sometimes this happens...a carrier may not immediately shut down your BIS services when you move onto a different carrier. And some carriers allow the BIS services to function, even though they are traversing to a different carrier. Once VZW caught up, they finally shut down your BIS service since you'd not been paying them for those services.
Consequently, what you now need to do is to get your BIS services working directly from Vodafone India. And that is where the challenge will lie. The 9550 is capable of both CDMA and GSM services...it has a multi-function radio. Clearly, since it was working via Vodafone India for those 6 months, you have it properly configured to operate on that network. But, until you can activate BIS services from the Vodafone India network, you will have no ability to receive BIS services from them.
If you indeed have a BIS-level account from Vodafone India, then that's only the first step in getting this working. The next step is obtaining the Service Books from Vodafone India (you previously had them from VZW, but when they shut down your BIS account, the Service Books were automatically removed from your BB). Even if the BIS account at Vodafone India is fully functional, the Service Books must still reside on the BB in order to actually use the service. And the Service Books come from the carrier. Most carriers will only deliver Service Books to BB models that they natively support...so if Vodafone India does not support the 9550, then they will not push the Service Books to you.
There are tedious and manual methods to obtain the necessary Service Books, but please first clarify if all of the above that I have written to you is accurate.
Oh...one more thing...are your voice-level services, from Vodafone India, working fine still?
Good luck and let us know!

  • Storm 2 9550 Battery Replacement source

I Googled Blackberry Storm 2 9550 battery and got a ton of  sources. Reviews showed that those for $5 all had problems with counterfeit batteries that would not charge, failed to hold a charge, etc. So I paid twice the amount: $10 at FactoryOutlet.com for what was supposed to be a brand new battery identical to the original...And got the same result.
When the replacement battery is installed, soon a symbol appears with a battery outline and a big red X over it. Factory Outlet says that means it is incompatible. It will not accept a charge no matter how long it is plugged into AC power via a charger that still works fine on the old battery (which is running out of juice much sooner than it used to....same day with little usage).
Question: has anyone found a reliable on-line source to supply replacments for the original battery D-X1 that is very inexpensive? (I am out of my original 2 yr Verizon contract and will soon be shopping a new phone).
Or is there a setting within the Blackberry that can be changed to accept manufacturer's batteries that mirror the OME battery specs?

    Hello,
"Normal" is an elusive measure...each uses their BB differently, demanding a different consumption of resources, including battery power. From my own experience with a 9550, a daily recharge was the maximum length of interval I would reliably recommend. Indeed, I always had a charger in every car, a charger at every normal desk location (e.g., office, home office, etc.) and two fully charged spare batteries. That's just the way it was.
    Good luck!

  • Synch outlook contacts to contacts in blackberry storm 9550 with wired connection: "address book not installed"

I have been synching outlook, calendar, address book contacts, task and memos, to my blackberry storm 9550 using outlook 2003 for about 6 months.  Somewhere along the line, MS Outlook on my PC no longer synchs with Blackberry contacts. I can still synch calendar, tasks and memos, but get a "not installed" for the address book contacts.  I have installed the latest blackberry desktop 6.1.0B38 and tried to reconfigure.  I still get "address book not installed" for the contacts.  This is a wired synch and wireless is turned off.  Any ideas how to fix? • Storm 2 9550 Bluetooth and Windows 7

I am having an issue with my new Storm 2 9550. I can get it to pair with my computer and synchronize wirelessly, but I cannot transfer anything such a pictures to my computer via bluetooth. If I look in devices and printers it shows my blackberry, but it has a large yellow exclamation point on it. When I tell it to troubleshoot, it tells me there is no driver installed for "bluetooth peripheral device." There are three instances of this in the device manager. Where can I find drivers for this? I installed the desktop manager and that did not solve the problem. I let it search for drivers and it comes up empty. Can anybody help me with this?

Many (including me) were stumped by the appearance of two bluetooth devices missing drivers in Windows 7 64-bit build 7100 following the installation of Blackberry Desktop Manager Software version 4.6 or higher.
These exclamation ! marked bluetooth peripheral devices are merely two more ports that Windows 7 can't find the drivers for (there should be FOUR total after you follow my suggestions).
Lucky for YOU, these port drivers are already present on your system (assuming you installed RIM Blackberry Desktop Manager software 4.6 or higher).
The 'trick' is to manually load the extra two PORTS by choosing from a list of drivers.
Find the 2 problem drivers-missing entries in your Bluetooth devices list, right click on the first one, choose UPDATE DRIVER SOFTWARE. Then choose Browse My Computer, then Let Me Pick From a List of Device Drivers. Scroll down till you see PORTS, then choose Rim Virtual Serial Port v2 and click Apply.
You'll get a warning message from windows 7, ignore this choose OK or apply and load the driver. It will report the device is set up correctly.
REPEAT this process 1 more time for the 2nd problem child bluetooth device that is missing the driver.
Then pair up your Blackberry with your laptop. Don't forget to REMOVE your laptop or PC from the blackberry list of paired bluetooth devices and then pair it all over again now that you've fixed the drivers on the pc/laptop side of things in Windows 7 by adding those two ports that were missing (assuming you're upgrading to Windows 7 and having problems where you can't sync with Outlook and your Blackberry using BLUETOOTH.
Once you've paired your Blackberry successfully, you'll need to configure Bluetooth in your connections options in Blackberry Desktop Manager 4.6 or higher.
You can then forget about plugging in the USB micro-cable and happily SYNC it with your bluetooth

  • Phone firmware storm 2 9550 by Verizon

Good day all! I look  today firmware for my storm 2 9550 by Verizon I want to it :
     Was the Russian language
So that I could call to me and the first time and and not with the 10th and 20th times have
That at work with Internet browsing did not disappear constant service books
What would you advise me best of the firmware by Verizon on my minimal requirements?
Thank you for support and understanding!!!

That seems to be a problem on many 9530/9550 devices on GSM networks over the past two weeks.
    First off, try this:
On your BlackBerry device, go to:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
    From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.
    From your desktop PC:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list
    3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

  • Blackberry Storm 2 Update

Is there a new update for Blackberry Storm 2? Anybody know what the new update number is? And is this a good update with no problems?

    Hi Jane,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
Since the web based loader is not working I will suggest doing the following:
    1.  Go to https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=02A32AD2669E6FE298E607FE7CC0E1A0
    2. Download the device software for your BlackBerry Storm 9550 5.0.0.712
    3. Install the software and press finish once it's done installing.
    4. Navigate to the location where Loader.exe is installed. The
    default location is C:\Program Files\Common
    Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.
    5. Run Loader.exe. The Application Loader Wizard window
    will open.
    6. When the Communication Port
Selection window opens, select a PIN number for any one of the BlackBerry
smartphones connected to the personal computer. Click
    Next.
    7. The Application
Loader Wizard opens the Device Application Selection. Select any additional
languages or applications in the selection window and click
    Next.
    8. Click
Finish. The BlackBerry smartphone will be upgraded with the
    appropriate software.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
