Blackberry Storm 9550 - **bleep** chargers!!

It's rediculous how many chargers I've had to buy in addition to buying this phone! I've now had this phone for 19 months and i've had to buy 3 chargers and it has been sent away to get fixed once. I didn't have my Blackberry for 4 weeks in which I got given a Nokia, thats greatest quality about it was that it had Snake!! They checked the battery of the phone and tested my calls (as I also wasn't able to hear anyone when they called) but yet they found nothing wrong and I was then told to buy YET another charger! Can't wait for my contract to end, definitely ditching Blackberry for Iphone if nothing gets sorted.

Using the 9550 Storm on tmobile, you will never get 3G data service.
The 9550 does not have the 3G bands which Tmobile uses.
Sorry.

  • Synch outlook contacts to contacts in blackberry storm 9550 with wired connection: "address book not installed"

I have been synching outlook, calendar, address book contacts, task and memos, to my blackberry storm 9550 using outlook 2003 for about 6 months.  Somewhere along the line, MS Outlook on my PC no longer synchs with Blackberry contacts. I can still synch calendar, tasks and memos, but get a "not installed" for the address book contacts.  I have installed the latest blackberry desktop 6.1.0B38 and tried to reconfigure.  I still get "address book not installed" for the contacts.  This is a wired synch and wireless is turned off.  Any ideas how to fix? • Storm 9550 -- Error Message during Synch Process

When Synch'ing my BlackBerry Storm 9550 with my PC Desktop Outlook, I get the following message:
    Error Encountered.
    Error Code - Ox80040fb3.
    Check Documentation
This has happened several times, and it always seems to stop when about 1/4 way through synchronizing contacts.  I have even re-downloaded the most recent software upgrade for the device, which completely re-sets the email setup etc. and programs I use.  However, I get the same error message, nearly at the same point every time in the synchronization.
I cannot get through a synchronization now without this happening, and my device now has only a portion of the contacts database available to use for phone, email etc.
Any input on how to solve this "error" code is appreciated.   Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
There are several public KB articles with that error code...to many to list. So, please go here:
    http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/microsite.do
and search on the error code (note that the first character is a numeric zero rather than the alphabetic O that you provided).
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry Storm 2 Update

Is there a new update for Blackberry Storm 2? Anybody know what the new update number is? And is this a good update with no problems?

    Hi Jane,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
Since the web based loader is not working I will suggest doing the following:
    1.  Go to https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=02A32AD2669E6FE298E607FE7CC0E1A0
    2. Download the device software for your BlackBerry Storm 9550 5.0.0.712
    3. Install the software and press finish once it's done installing.
    4. Navigate to the location where Loader.exe is installed. The
    default location is C:\Program Files\Common
    Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.
    5. Run Loader.exe. The Application Loader Wizard window
    will open.
    6. When the Communication Port
Selection window opens, select a PIN number for any one of the BlackBerry
smartphones connected to the personal computer. Click
    Next.
    7. The Application
Loader Wizard opens the Device Application Selection. Select any additional
languages or applications in the selection window and click
    Next.
    8. Click
Finish. The BlackBerry smartphone will be upgraded with the
    appropriate software.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

  • Using a Blackberry Storm 2 9550 with a Netgear wireless modem MBR624GU

Very recently I got the BlackBerry Storm2 (9550) and I have a Netgear 3G broadband wireless router, model# MBR624GU. I was using a USB720 modem and I would just plug it into the router and it would connect to the internet. I can tether the phone and connect to the internet on my desktop but I can't get it to work with the router. I (naive) thought I would be able to just plug the Storm 2 to my Netgear router and it would just connect - I was very wrong!!!! I have looked through a lot of posts but cannot find my particular problem. My first question is "Does the Blackberry Storm 2 work with the Netgear wireless router, model# MBR624GU? If it does, how do I get it to connect to the internet when I have the phone plugged into it? Thanks for any input!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm... Do I follow your post correctly that you are wanting to run the NetGear wireless router FROM the Storm, in order to broadcast the Wifi for your laptop to recieve the WiFi signal?
The Storm receives the WiFi signal, not the reverse.
    Like this:
DSL/Cable signal with Internet >> Router >> WiFi signal >> BlackBerry Storm.
    Not the reverse.

  • Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) Pairing Issue

This thread has probably been posted before, but if I'm having this problem then it is likely that others are as well.
I have a Blackberry Storm 2 (9550) and I cannot get it to connect to my car's factory-installed bluetooth system. When I try to add the car as a bluetooth device, it recognizes that there is a signal present (it will say "audio device"), but when I try to pair with the audio device it always fails. I have tried rebooting the phone (including battery removal), rebooting the car, and nothing seems to work.
I understand that my phone is not specifically listed as compatible with my vehicle (2007 Dodge Charger), but I have been able to pair other phones (approximately 7 different co-worker and family phones), and most of them were not listed as compatible. In fact, it seems as though this Storm 2 is the only phone that will not pair with it. This is extremely frustrating given the amount of money paid for this phone.
I pay the extra money for a premium phone so that I don't have to deal with these small issues. I expect the technology to be top-notch, and I expect that there would be no connectivity/compatibility issues. I am hoping that there is a solution to this, as I am not even close to qualifying for a phone upgrade, and my wife would hang me if I went out and dropped $500 on a new Droid.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you in advance!

Lets try 4 steps to resolve this issue.
1, Could I get you to power the phone off, remove and replace the battery to do a soft reset on the device.
    2. Then could I get you to dial *228 send and option 2 again in your home area to update the PRL.
    3. Next could I get you to try un-pairing the device and car then pairing the two again.
    4. After you have done this if still unsuccessful we can try a factory reset (after you have backed up your phone)
    a. On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
    b. Click Security Options.
    c. Click General Settings.
    d. Press the Menu key.
    e. Click Wipe Handheld.
    f. To delete all third-party applications from your device, select the Include third-party applications check box.
    g. Click Continue.
    h. Type blackberry.

  • Blackberry Storm 2 9550 Needs adobe flash 10

I bought at Verizon the blackberry storm 2 , 9550 under the understanding that this phone would meet all of my needs, which I explained clearly. I need a phone that is enabled with Flash Player Browser and Java enabled. I precisely stated that since I deal in the stock market, I needed access to CNBC.com TV for financial news and also for other sites that would display Streaming charts.  To my dismay...It has been about 6 months and there is no existing flash player for the Blackberry storm 2.
If anyone can give me hope for the short future if RIM or Verizon or Adobe will be making such an application for web browser viewing, please post it here.
I have even attempted to see if SkyFire web browser would have any plans. But I am suspecting that there may be a lack of outstanding and effective programmers or not motivated enough to take this approach. I can't believe that Adobe management nor Verizon management has anything wrong to do with this.
If anyone knows of a Verizon phone that may take the adobe flash version 10 into a web browser is Java enabled... and can handle PDF files and Microsoft Office with Word , Excel, Access Database.....PLEASE CONTACT me. email: [email protected] or post here.
All I heard is that Verizon have ANDROID phone are are Adobe Flash enabled.  I just can't believe it, because they were the ones that told me that my Blackberry storm 2 would also be the one with those capabilities.

    Hi Mich,
It's unfortunate to hear about your Blackberry experience.
Good news, though, is that any Android phone that has Android 2.2 or later on it has support for Flash.  For Verizon, the current selection of smartphones (that I know of) that meet this criteria are:
         - Motorola Droid X
         - Motorola Droid 2
         - HTC Droid Incredible
    cheers,
    /Eric.

  • Blackberry storm 2 ( 9550 )

how to fix this issue please ?

I don't know what PagePlus is but if you removed your BB data plan then your device will no longer work.  Call your carrier and make sure you have the proper BlackBerry data plan on your account.

  • BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 Email setup problem

I have a Tmobile BlackBerry curve 3g originally with a BlackBerry plan (BIS) that has an email, internet, and blackberry messenger working perfectly. My question is, I would like to use my older Blackberry Storm 2 9550 (unlocked) with my present Tmobile BlackBerry plan. However, after the "device change" I could not move my emails perfectly as I would get errors setting up on Storm although I was able to have internet access, use bbm and gps under EDGE signal.
To fully understand the problem, I tried doing the same procedure onto my other unlocked Bold 9650 device and was able to move and synchronize emails, together with internet access, gps and bbm. I just do not understand why I could not move my emails onto Storm 9550 just like on the Bold 9650 which are basically the same unlocked CDMA phone.
    I have done the following:
-back up and restore (everything including service books from the present curve 3g to storm2)
-have done "register now" on host routing table on storm 2
-checked service books on storm2 and able to find "Email [CMIME]
-email setup would result to "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue"
-TCP/IP APN setting set to: epc.tmobile.com
    -Storm 9550 has v5.0.0.1015 (Bundle 1656, Platform 4.2.0.442
If you could please help me step by step I would really appreciate it. Thanks
    Marc

Hello marc1075 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your Email setup application.
Backup your device and do a security wipe (click here) and before any data is restored, click on Email settings. Does the same error occur?
Could you send me a private message with the PIN? I can investigate further for you.
    Thanks!

  • Oh Yeah!!! My BlackBerry Storm 2 is Gone!!!!

Oh Yeah!!! My BlackBerry Storm 2 is Gone!!!
Ok so this post is gonna make a lot of people mad but I don't care!
I had been calling the wonderful people at Customer Service asking them when existing customers can get the iPhone and bill to plan for about 2 weeks,  I was driving them crazy asking them questions about anything I could think of!  Verizon CSR Reps ROCK!!!
My husband walked in to our local store yesterday around noon... He came home with 2 new 16 gig iPhones!!!!  Yippee!
No pre order, no standing in line, and no one in the store! He added them to the plan, he bought 2 nice cases with holsters and 2 car chargers.
Now I've been enjoying my new iPhone, with no major problems! (one syncing prob but not a bad fix on iTunes!)
The BlackBerry Storm 2 was awful! I hated that touch screen, the freezing screens, battery pulls, and the BB computer software man it really bites, and all the other things I can't think of now because I'm loving my new iPhone ;]
I want to personally thank Verizon for all the great CSR Reps they have I've never met a inferior CSR Rep in 5 years of being a loyal customer! Every time I call Customer Service they have been so wonderful!!!
Thanks Verizon for bringing us the coolest phone on the planet! Finally!!! It was worth the wait!
    HarleyBarbie;]

ha, the original storm was my first smartphone.  I actually didn't hate it all that much but that was probably because I was installing leaks and hybrids pretty much daily to make the phone usable.  You don't really realize how bad BB OS until you try something else.  I upgraded to the OG Droid  and was amazed at the difference.  No memory leaks, hour glass, battery pulls, and a web browser that wasn't a chore to use.  RIM is so far behind and even OS 6 is fail.

  • Blackberry storm 2 wont turn on

Blackberry storm 2 wont turn on, when I do it flashes on the screen goes a light gray then turns back of then back on again, when its plugged in it goes to a white screen with a battery on it and when I plug it into my computer, my computer doesn't recognize it neither does the blackberry software can somebody help?
Would really appreciate any help as I only brought it of eBay 2 weeks ago

    Hi iddon10,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Since your BlackBerry® Storm2™ 9550 smartphone is not detected by the computer, you may want to try starting a reload of the BlackBerry® Device Software without the battery inserted, reinserting the battery only after the software reload has started. This article will provide further steps. http://bbry.lv/onZ4Wf
This process will remove all personal data from the BlackBerry smartphone, so you will need a previoulsly taken backup file if you wish to restore your data.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is Verizon going to get the Blackberry Storm 3 (9570)?

I am currently an Alltel customer that was bought out by at&t.  We are set to change over in December or January.  I may or may not stay with at&t as I have heard bad things about their service.  I am interested in a complete touch screen Blackberry and am wondering if Verizon is set to get the Blackberry Storm 3?  I heard they were and then heard it was cancelled?!  Anyone know? Thanks!
