Blackberry Twitter beta on 8330 Curve

Hello all,
I attempted to download and install the new BB beta Twitter client.  Unfortunately, I received a message that my Curve 8330 doesn't meet the requirements?  Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
Solved!
Go to Solution.

It's because the app requires at least 64 MB RAM to function. The 8330 comes with 96 MB built in, much of which is used up by the OS and any installed apps. The only way to use the Twitter client would be to delete a lot of apps or to revert to an older OS that used up less RAM, maybe 4.2.

  • How do I download photo's from my Blackberry 8330 Curve to my Macbook

I recently purchased a Blackberry 8330 Curve and have taken photos with it. I would like to transfer the photos to my macbook. Apple tech support suggested either pocketmac or the missing sync which one is better?

A 2009 iMac can't run Classic operating systems.  If you are running Mac OS X 10.8.5 or earlier, look at http://www.markspace.com/ software.
If you are running Mac OS X 10.9 or later, try adding the bluetooth menu and connecting to the phone to browse the device directly through Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Bluetooth.  Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to find your operating system, and then pick the correct forum here:

  • WiFi for Blackberry 8330 Curve/Telus

Is there no upgrade for Blackberry 8330 Curve to be able to use WiFi?

Unfortunately no, the 8330 does not have a wi-fi adapter built into the device. The 8320 does have it however.

  • Suggestions needed for blackberry 8330 curve

    Hi
I have a Blackberry 8330 Curve and am on Verizon. Saturday night my messaging system decided on it's own to separate all my messages. Some of the saved ones I have are now dated 12/5 (were from august!). On top of that when my email is downloaded into my Outlook account the emails are no longer taken off the phone. It is very very hard to open up any of my messages-usually takes 2 or 3 clicks to get them open. Am able to send emails and messages.
Another problem is that I can not update information or comment on people's status on Facebook. This isn't a big problem but is frustrating to me.
I have occasionally been getting this error message: uncaught exception:Java.lang.ArrayIndexOutofBoundsException
    I
have rebooted multiple times went to Verizon & this very unhelpful man said all he could do is wipe my phone since there was not a technician there that was proficient on Blackberry.
    Any suggestions are welcomed!
    Thanks
    Kitty

  • Don't want personal emails showing in work email inbox (8330 Curve)

I succesfully set up my personal email account (comcast) on my 8330 Curve, but the messages are showing in both the main inbox (work) and also the comcast inbox.  Does anyone know how to get the device to only show them in the personal inbox?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

lol, yea, it's pretty technologically unadvanced, lol.
Some users prefer to hide the main message icon and use only the email-specific folder. They are automatically filtered in that manner. So only your yahoo account email comes to the Yahoo folder, only your Gmail comes to your gmail folder, only your [email protected] email comes to another folder, etc.
You can have up to ten email accounts/addresses on one device/BIS account.
You can do a search of this and all other blackberry-related forums, and I think you will find the answer is... no. Sorry.
Now, that said, a BES account can have a policy pushed to it to have the BES mail moved to a different folder, and BES users can also use Empower BES Inbox... but none of that applies to this situation.

  • Sirius radio application for 8330 curve

anyone tried to download the app for their 8330 curve and it did not work.  Has any found out how to get the app to work.

So what happens when you click on that icon?
Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?
You must, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.
    Good luck.

  • Socket security layer for 8330 curve

With no warning my company added socket security layering on our e-mail exchange server.  Now all of us with blackberries cannot receive our mail on our phone.  I have a 8330 curve.  I'm not able to figure out if there is a setting for this.  Please help!

        Hi Mike8330!
I'm sorry to learn of these error messages! Let's get to the bottom of this, OK? You have "8330" in your screen name, so I'm assuming you have the Curve 8330?  I did a little research on the error code you're receiving, and I recommend a master reset of the device, so the error code goes away. Here are the steps:

Look at your BB > browser > options > browser config > Browser emulation (or identification) and set that to BlackBerry.

  • I have a 8330 curve and would like to force roaming on it

I have a 8330 curve and would like to force roaming on it. I get signal from my carrier but signal isn't very good and phone will get signal and then loose it. There are time it locks on roaming tower but won't stay there and when this happens i have lots of dropped calls. thanks for any help richard

You could use Google Calendar and Google Contacts. Both synchronize effortlessly with blackberry (assuming you have a data contract) and both can sync with Thunderbird with the help of suitable add-ons such as Lightning for the calendar and gContactSync etc for your Thunderbird address book.
As regards the calendar, I use it to sync Events, I can't speak for Tasks. They seem to have a cinderella status in Lightning. :-(

  • RSS Feeds on 8330 Curve

    Hello,
Wondering how to subscribe to RSS Feeds using the Blackberry Browser. I have an 8330 Curve - 4.5.0.138 OS
Found documentation that states the following:
    Subscribe to a web feed
On a web page, press the Menu key.
    Click Add Web Feed.
Select the check box beside a web feed.
In the Auto Synchronize field, set how often the browser should check for updates to the web feed.
In the Start time field, set the time of day when the browser should start checking for updates.
    Click Add
However, I don't seem to have this option "Add Web Feed" in my meu.
I have navigated to several web feed pages and clicked the menu key. I have the "add bookmark" option where I can select auto synchronize but nothing that says "Add Web Feed"
Any thoughts or solutions would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

Issue resolved. I changed the browser from "Blackberry Brower" to "Internet Browser" and the Add Web Feed option appears in the menu.

  • 8330 Curve Hotsync questions

I just got an 8330 Curve. When I hotsync I get a message "1134 records skipped, check log".  Can anyone tell me how to find the "log" and why it is skipping records?
    Thanks,

It is not Blackberry, it is your carrier. Alltel recently added MMS service and for a lot of users it doesn not yet function properly.

  • 8330 Curve Error message 00x80040fb3

My 8330 Curve is giving me an error message while syncing with my computer. I've narrowed it down (by syncing each thing individually) to when the address book is time to sync. It gets about half way through and then comes up with a box that says
    "Error message: 00x80040fb3"
Does anyone know what this means or have gotten it fixed? I really don't want to pay $40 for a one time only fix with a technician if it's something I could do myself.
    Please let me know anything!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
You got your error code wrong, btw, by one digit...only one leading zero at the beginning. But, no matter, I still managed to find the relevant KB...see here:
KB14818 Error Encountered 0x80040FB3, Check Documentation error appears during a wired synchronization
    Hope that helps!

  • Cracked Glass on an 8330 Curve

I have Cracked the glass on my 8330 Curve.  My carrier, Verizon says they can't help.  Does anybody know if I can get the glass replaced and how to go about it..

With Verizon saying they cannot help I am assuming you did not opt for the insurance on your Curve.  There are a number of sites that offer repair services.
One that is highly thought of is horizonwirelessonline.com.  A Google search will give you more choices.
    Good luck.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

there is no "java turning on" on Blackberry devices.
the BlackBerry device uses an operating system that is based on Java.
the BlackBerry device can use applications developed in Java (either J2ME like any mobile phone, or ALX special files for BlackBerry devices)
the BlackBerry device has a browser that can do JavaScript but not Java applets.
Question is : why do you think you need Java ?

  • Mp4 videos on my new bb 8330 curve do not play. How to make them play ?

I bought a new blackberry 8330 curve last week, but most of the mp4 videos that I had and play great on my palm centro, will not play at all on my new bb 8330. When trying to play them they either cause the player to blink and green "loading" to flash at top right of player screen but never play, or more often they dont play file while giving error message " An error has occurred attempting to play media".!
Anyone know why this happens. How to fix?
And everytime I click "enter" button to try to create space here typing in this forum post it bugs out and takes cursor to top of page, instead of doing what every normal enter command does by creating space below.
Also fix the stupid blocks to posting messages not allowing simple things like "to", "has" ..etc in tags and tiny limit to title subject.

First read this: Adding additional media format support to Quicktime:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3526
Download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
    RealPlayer SP for Mac from:
    http://www.real.com/realplayer/mac
Flip4Mac WMV Player from  http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac-wmv/overview.htm  (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
    Perian from  http://perian.org/
You should read this support page  http://perian.org/#support   in case you need to delete older codecs.  In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them), particularly any DivX extension to Safari. However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from  http://www.divx.com/en/software/mac/player
