Blackberry Updated to new version and removed all my photos and settings
Hello
I am a very upset and stressed out blackberry user who just spent 4 hours updating my Curve 9360 to a newer version only to find out when it was finished that everything - all my settings, text messages and photos - were GONE!! If I was using this phone for business I would be SO upset right now but as it is I am SO upset right now because I have photos on my phone of a loved one who is no longer with us and I really want those photos back.
The device did a back up but I can't open it and I really am not that tech savy about what to do.
It would have been nice if it had told me BEFORE IT WIPED EVERYTHING OUT - to save all my photos - or at least given me an option to put them all on my computer BEFORE WIPING EVERYTHING OUT.
I'm so upset. Somebody please tell me what to do to get my photos back on my phone.

First, please direct your anger appropriately...BB does not release updates to end users, only to the carriers. The carriers then choose if/when to release it to their end users. Hence, your ire toward BlackBerry may perhaps be a bit misdirected?
Now, how exactly did you conduct this update? You have no said, so I cannot know how to help you. Did you use the on-device wireless update? Did you use the Desktop Software via USB? Did you use the BB Update Website via USB? Did you use some other means. Depending on the means you used, your resolution path may be quite different.

If your messages and photos weren't part of your backup, then they're gone.
Certainly you weren't foolish enough to update the iOS on your phone before importing your photos off your phone for safe keeping on your computer like you would do with any digital camera, were you? -
Hi skydiver, I have ios7.4, I tried two different USB ports and it still doesn't show,up on my desktop in my computer as iPad so I can't click it. If it was there I would open and see all my photos, and YES it ask me DO I trust this computer! several times.

I had got a replacement Iphone5 and updated the new ios update. In Itunes i had saved my pictures. Now I cannot get them back. Is there a way to retrieve my pictures and place them back in my new iphone 5?

I did something stupid, and lost all my photos in iPhoto
So, I thought I was in a specific Album with 5 photos in it I wanted to remove from iPhoto. I hit Apple-A to select all and hit delete. It wasn't until a moment later that I realized I must have actually been in my Library, and removed ALL my photos from iPhoto.
Now, all the Albums still appear in the left of iPhoto (6.0, BTW), but when I click on the albums, no photos appear. I went through my hard drives and dragged the appropriate photos back to their original Albums to reimport them into iPhoto. This worked fine with old photos I had organized BEFORE I switched to importing everything in iPhoto.
When I try to import those newer photos, the ones imported through iPhoto over the past couple of years, I keep getting the following error: "The following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)." The files are fine...I'm just trying to import them from their organized roll folder in the iPhoto folder under Photos. Sometimes, I will also get an error that says the file is "already in the iPhoto library."
Is there some kind of preference or something I need to delete so I can reimport these photos from the iPhoto folder into iPhoto again?EditThis:
If you did not empty the iPhoto Trash via the iPhoto menu the photos will still be in the iPhoto trash container in the Source pane. Click on the trash icon, select all of the photos and drag to the Library icon at the top of the Source pane. They will be returned to their rolls and albums.
The reason you're getting that message is you're trying to import photos that are within the iPhoto Library folder. That can't be done.

FaceTime can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because the version of Mac OS X is too new. I removed all traces of FaceTime and still not able to install from App store. New to macbook pro with Lion.any help with this would be greaty appreciated.
FaceTime is included in Lion. The App Store version is for 10.6. If you deleted it, restore it from a backup, or reinstall the Mac OS.

After synching, I updated to newer version of iTunes. I do not have contacts on my phone - but I have all the messages and photos there still. How do I find my missing contacts?

My problem, in part, is that I have 2 iphones. I transferred one to another computer that now syncs with iCloud. The other phone I was updating today on my old computer. It was recognised by iTunes, and automatically synched. Then I updated it to a newer version of iTunes, and lost my contacts on that iPhone. I have trawled to Windows Contacts but to no avail. -
i have just updated to the newest version of ipod softare, the ipod intalled new software but now all the music and videos on it will not play, how do i fix this
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and videos and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Thank youMini Man, I'm glad to read you found a solution to your issue, but I don't know if your solution is going to be mine as well.
For starters, I do not have the new Apple TV - at least, not yet. I have ordered one, but it will not be delivered until some time next week (sneering glance at Steve & Co. for abandoning that platform rather than making it AirPlay compatible).
But that is not really my issue: my issue is that my two Airport Express units do NOT show up in the iPhone, though the DO show up on my iPad. This tells me they have been properly configured (both units have names, and are connected to the house network), so there must still be something missing from the equation.
And, judging from the response of a few others who have chimed in here, I think it's save to say that the experience is not altogether uncommon.
I'm surprised nobody has come back with a more direct solution to the common issue. I may have to call AppleCare someday this week...

Do a clean reinstall and be sure to remove the Firefox program folder.

* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Hello- after updating to the new iTunes i got a box saying that i needed a new version of Apple Mobile Device Support and ihat i should uninstall iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support then install iTunes again. (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

iPhoto is Apple's included program to manage your photo's and pictures.
It receives updates over time with Software updates and new machine or iLife purchases.
When iPhoto gets updated or a newer version is used, it may alter iPhoto support files, but newer iPhoto versions usually always compatible with older files which it then updates.
If you used a newer iPhoto on your iPhoto support files, then they got altered to the newer format, older iPhoto versions can't read the older format.
Somewhere along the line you somehow got a older version of iPhoto on your computer, you need to fine the newer version of iPhoto (not this photo manager, sounds like another program)
Or somewhere along the line you used a newer iPhoto version (like on another Mac) and it altered the iPhoto support files on your older version of iPhoto.
So the key here is to find the newest version of iPhoto and use that to access your iPhoto support files.
If you didn't access your iPhoto support files from another Mac, then you should have the newer iPhoto version on your computer.
Once you find it, and get it in the Dock, you should remove the older iPhoto version from your computer to prevent this from happening again.
Lastly, if the newer version of iPhoto is somehow gone off your computer, you should be able to get a copy off the latest OS X install disk or iLife using a free program called Pacifist.
