BlackBerry z10 device memory problem

I have a problem with my BlackBerry z10 device memory. Over time the so called "other data" keep growing, eating up the internal memory even though i didn't install new apps. So now i have less than 1 gb free storage and keep getting message that i should move some files to the external memory. The "other data" is now at 14.8 gb. BlackBerry 10 os don't let us see the content of this data but i know that all of the apps i installed take less than 4 gb. I wanna find the solution before i factory reset my z10. I don't like to have to install all those apps again.

MaxMem was a tool that could "free up space" in OS's 4.2 to 6.0. It hasn't been updated since sometime in 2008. There is no BB10 version.

Blackberry 9300 device memory

Z10 device memory usage oddity

We own two z10 on att. Network. Both set up just about identical except wife's also has Facebook and Twitter. My "other" device memory usage holds constant at about 5.5 gb. About 3 weeks ago noticed her "other" device memory usage was 12 gb. Did everything I knew to clear up space on hers but didn't accomplish much. Using blackberry link I did a full backup and then a restore. That brought her "other" back down to about 5.5 gb. Now, last week hers had crept up to 6.6gb used and this week is at 7.4 gb used.
Something doesn't seem right comparing our two z10's. Other than she does more texting than me and uses Facebook and Twitter I can't account for anything eating up her device memory
Os is 10.1.0.2074. Software is 10.1.0.2019
Any help would be appreciated!

BlackBerry Q5 ( Device Memory Full)

I bought my phone exactly a month ago today, about 10days ago have been getting weird updates about " device memory full " it's very sad, I only have 3 Apps on it, bbm, whatsapp and facebook app and the phone is say device memory full... please help

On your BlackBerry10 device with a non-removable battery:
Restart: Press and hold the upper edge power button a couple seconds and the tap the lower right RESTART.
or,
Reboot: On the side edge volume keys, press and hold down both of the Up and Down volume keys for about 20 seconds, ignoring the initial screenshot message... the screen will go black and reboot.

Blackberry z10 Wifi Connection problem

Just acquired Blackberry Z10, and transferred contacts, accounts from Curve 9300.
Can anybody please help with failure to reconnect to saved wifi networks?
I have a blackberry z10 and have found that when Idiscoonect from home or work wifi (by leaving work /home) when I return to the wifi area the phone does not reconnect unless I switch off/on wifi on phone.
Phone is Z10 model STL100-2
Software is 10.1.0.4181

There seems to be at least a workaround for this problem.
Last week I sselected the "Hidden SSID" setting for my wifi accounts on my BB Z10
It has connected automatically to work & home networks since then.
Suggest you try this.

Blackberry z10 stl100-1 problem

i have a blackberry z10 stl100-1 and that is the model avalabole for my country which have low procesor and difrrent spec than other blackberry i paid 720 $ for it and thats what i get and it cant even run some games wtf blackberry i'm a loyal fan and i supported you all the way and that how you treat your custemer in africa and asia and uerope thanks i think i'm going to change to iphone wich i hate but i know i will get the same spec as every body else at least make all the apss and games work for us

Blackberry Z10 application memory space

The blackberry Z10 comes with 11.3GB of usable internal memory storage. Can anyone who actually has the blackberry Z10 phone tell me how much of this is allocated specifically to application memory?

11.3GB. Storage is storage. it doesn't differentiate. It will be less if you have tons of videos and what not

C2-03 Device memory Problem

I am facing very strange problems with my device.
The phone internal memory is only 7.2 MB memory. Even Nokia site shows it has 10MB memory.
out of this 7.2 MB the phone packed with 4.7 MB of default apps in "Apps and games", and Gallery contains some defaults pictures and default Nokia Ringtones and message tones of 2.0 MB data.
Also messaging App showing 417 KB of memory used.
Now my phone has only 400-600 KB memory left. And when i run the apps like. Nokia Maps, OVI Store. etc... then apps doesn't start and show message like: "Not enough device memory availabe."
I have factory restored my phone and checked the memory still full. I can't delete the games which are totally waste for me. Also there is no option to move any default apps to memory card.
Even i can't download any single software from third party sites which is large in size more than 300KB..
This phone is working like hell and i am very furstrared with it's poorely implemeted software.
I have no any single Text/MMS stored in my phone memory. but it is still showing 417KB data used in messaging.
Also when i try to apply any theme then it always shows "Please free some memory."
I'm wonderring how can i free such memory.
Please provide any option to delete (for games ) or move the apps to memory card which or not useful for everyone.

Oh yEs, he is right... haven't read his post before but did the same myself.... i had 330kb remaining...before... then i used ovi suite... backed up my phone... (took out the memory card after that, just to be on safe side ) then reinstalled the same software version as there was no update available... n then restored the data and settings... despite restoring the same data and settings i still have 2.8mb free...-Not much- but better than 330kb.... I now have 843kb of sms's 1.9mb f gallery n 3.5mb of apps...and still....2.8mb free.. great.. isn't it??

After wipe my blackberry z10 has software problems please can someone help?

I got a secondhand z10 today and decided to do a security wipe and now the phone wont work. It says unable to connect to update server after sofware update. ?? I don't know what to do please help

Just a tip, anytime you commence an upgrade or such, make sure you are connected to the charger. Losing power during an upgrade can certainly brick your device.
And there is nothing wrong with performing an upgrade over USB connected to the PC via the BlackBerry Link software. I've done it four or five times now on my Z10. BlackBerry provided that method of updates for a reason and wouldn't have done were it not a feasible option.

Security activation on your BlackBerry Z10 Device

To start calendar and contact synchronization with Gmail, do I need to complete the security activation. If yes How can I do this on my Z10?

To start the calendar and contact synchronization you just need to add your email account and make sure sync contacts and calendar is set to on. Also the contact synchronization happens every 4 hours.
A security activation should not be required.

Blackberry Z10 Software Update problem?? HELP!! PLEASE!!! :'(

I received the blackberry software update about a month ago, 10.2.1.2941, i'm currently at 10.2.1.2102 system softwate, I keep ignoring the update because my internet connection is bad, but now, I can't update!!! When I click "check for updates", it shows "you have the latest software", what happened with my z10?? Help me!

Blackberry Z10 sharing Media not recognising the devices

Hi,
Media sharing is not working in my BlackBerry Z10, Devices are visible in "Devices for sharing Media" and I have selected the desired devices however, in "select a device to play on" none of device is visible to select.
I am trying to connect my Sony vaio PC which is DLNA certified.
Do I need to make any changes in my blackberry device or laptop. Both devices are using same WIFI network.

While playing Video, select More then Play On, you should see HDMI (Not connected) and compatible devices (mine Shows WDTVLIVE), select Media Sharing at the bottom and activate all media. Select Devices at the bottom and check if device is listed, it should be there with stacks of other unkown devices and IP addresses.

Apps on BlackBerry World for BlackBerry Z10

Hi BlackBerry
I'm very impressed with the new BlackBerry Z10 device with its new features, display resolution, keyboard typing and gestures, but I have a big issue with the Apps on BlackBerry world.
Still BlackBerry World is missing lots and lots of popular apps that are widely used and are currently available on Apple AppStore & Android Google Play. I know that you are working on it, and it is hard for now to compete with Apple & Android appstores, but at least there is a punch of apps that are mostly common worldwide, especailly the social networking and voip calling apps which have to be launched officially on BlackBerry world as soon as possible.
In addition, I'd like to draw your attention that the Facbook app (which is currently integrated with BB 10) is an older version of Facebook than the currently available one for Android & iOS devices (one big difference is that the current facebook app version for Android & iOS devices include the "Share" feature for my feeds and stories, while the facebook app on BB 10 still does not include that feature). I don't know about twitter and linkedin, as I didn't check yet, but at least pleasue ensure with their developers that those native integrated apps are updated to their latest versions to provide BlackBerry users the same experience that Android & iOS users are having.
Also, about apps, there are many apps developed by Google (like youtube, Google Maps & Navigation, Google +, Google Current ...etc) which are not yet available on BlackBerry world (The Youtube app on BB 10 is just a shortcut to the internet broweser and not a fullt fledged Youtube App). Having Google apps on BlackBerry world will also give a big push to the users base for BB 10 (especially the Google Maps & Navigation, which are ranked and considered the best mapping database and app worldwide). I know that Google have to develop such apps from their side (as the same for other developers), but I hope that BlackBerry should give this issue its ultimae priority, as I think that the major drawback (if I can name it so) for BB 10 to earn a significant market share worldwide is the absence of many popular and widely used apps on the BlackBerry World as compared with Apple App Store and Android Google Play.
I know that BB 10 and its OS is just the begining, and that BlackBerry have more to provide to us from the apps side and other sides as well, so keep moving and hope to see the positive results soon.

Blackberry has certainly put in a concerted effort to woo app developers of all types, big names and small alike. It by far the best effort that I have ever seen from them in this regard.. Unfortunately no matter the effort by them it will always come down to numbers for the big guys. If they aren't sure there will be a ROI on the investment of developing they won't put the resources into it.
This can be seen with the Facebook app you mentioned, it is a great example because it wasn't developed by Facebook... Blackberry ended up doing it for them. I'm sure that we have all noticed that Blackberry has been busy working on other areas of the phone, and that they have lots more work that we would all like to see done.
Would you rather have better notification granularity, or a better Facebook app?
If all of the million + z10 use re would all petition Facebook for a better FB built app, then we would have a much better chance of seeing the dream FB app that we desire.
Of course we all know about the rumours that FB wants to have their own phone.. so maybe conflict of interest has played into the game...?

can anyone help me out on this... how to watch live sports channel,entertainment channels on blackberry z10 device. Is there any application to watch live tv???if yes then from where I can download this app??
one more thing I am not able to download Uc browser , opera browser , Vlc media player in my blackBerry z10......

HuiZone TV for Blackberry has good reviews on BBW.
The other apps are android and has to be sideloaded if you have OS 10.2
