Blackberry Z10 High Data Issues

I purchased a new Z10 at the end of February for a few reasons.  When your whole family has a blackberry there are many usefull functions that work well together.  Secondly, I'm Canadian, and wish a canadian company well and hope they stay healthy for a long time.
Well I'm becoming sorry I stayed loyal, not completely yet, but very soon.
I downloaded three apps off Blackberry World, Whats App, Star Tracker and Four Pics One Word.  Three days later I had used close to 800Mbytes of data.  When I talked to Bell tech support they admitted that it was indeed upload data, not download.  So I wasn't watching movies or streaming any video.  One of the apps was uploading data.
I completed a wipe of the unit, and all is ok again.
Now what?
Am I not allowed to use the device as it was intended, surely Blackberry can figure something out.
Anyone have similiar problems????

I am surprised to hear that one of those apps caused an issue. I have whats app and it did not cause any issues for me. I am with Rogers. The only option I can suggest at the moment is to purchase a Datatracker to determine your sent data daily. I use Data Monitor. Its good for the price. You use this for testing and hopefully it will guide you in the right direction.
Under settings, check the security and Privacy option and see if the Diagnostics is turn on. If it is, it is sending data informaton. I have mine off.

    Those are the two big issues that I continue to have. I toggled around with the network from 4G to 4G LTE and signal wise seeing some degradation although it’s past 3 bars which allows you to send and receive text messages and do high speed connectivity. 
    I want to know if anyone has experienced this and what is the work around that I can do to solve this ever so difficult issue? I used to text a lot to not being able to text at all.

    SMS text messaging, MMS and download speeds are features that are service provider dependent and depend on network traffic and congestion. I would recommend contacting your mobile provider to investigate these issues further. Let me know how it goes. Thanks.

    Were any changes made to your BlackBerry Z10 smartphone before this issue started? Were any applications installed or updated or any settings changed?
    Are you seeing the Arabic display only in the BlackBerry Maps application?
    In Settings > Location Services are Location Services on?
    In Settings > Language and Input, are your language and region set correctly?

  • Blackberry Z10 - Bluetooth connection issues

    Everytime I get into my 2012 Toyota Camry and connect to Bluetooth, the screen on my phone pops up saying unable to play media. But the thing is I have no music on my phone or pictures, etc. I have tried deleting all the discoverable devices, taking out the battery and setting everything up again, but I still keep getting this error. It only happens when I get into my car. Any suggestions of how to get rid of this error? It's annoying as it freezes my screen and I am unable to access any other app or email on my phone. Please help!!

    There have been a bunch of complaints about Z10 and Toyota BT. Users who were on 10.0 seemed to have no issues, but then the update to 10.1 caused problems. The real issue seems to be that Toyota does not support the Z10. However, there is a leaked OS floating around that seems to have cured this issue for most users. Do a search on this forum.

  • Blackberry Protect, missing data issue

    Hi folks,
    Just wondering if anybody can help - if a phone has been wiped by somebody with Blackberry Protect, is there a log created to say when it was wiped?

    I don't believe there is a log that is created. I believe in BlackBerry Protect Site it will let you know if it was successful or not.
    It doesn't mention anything in the document ion only that if the device is turned off as soon as it's turned on it will be wiped.

  • Blackberry Protect - Delete data command executed on new Z10 and not lost Z10

    My BB Z10 was stolen and somebody took the battery off immediately. I executed command to display message and delete data using blackberry protect. Command will be executed whenever the thief turns phone on. Afterwards, I restored data from blackberry link on my new blackberry z10 using old blackberry id. When my new z10 phone was up the commands which i sent to lost z10 got executed on my new blackberry! Now I am not able to trace lost blackberry. Somehow same pin got assigned to new blackberry on blackberry protect. Is there any way I can bring back lost blackberry details on blackberry protect and trace it?

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Firstly, you must get your current BB using the exact same BBID credentials that were used when your old BB was using BB Protect for backup. To do so, you will have to WIPE your current BB and, when you are setting it up new again, use the same credentials from your old BB. But, take heed of this:
    Article ID: KB31489 BlackBerry Protect for BlackBerry smartphones does not display any backup files to restore
    If, by "archived", you did contrary to what that KB states, then it is too late...there is no recovery of things that get deleted from the BBID account.
    Your situation is a perfect case study as to why BB Protect is a fine component of a good backup procedure, but by no means should it ever be counted on as the sole component.

  • Blackberry z10 & z30 text and call issues

    Recently my blackberry z10 wont tell me I have a text and if I do see a text I cant open it. Also says call service provider when im trying to make calls. .the text issue sometimes I get atext and sometimes I dont. Sometimes I can open and sometimes not. Our z30 is same issue w text . Also z30 wont let me delete anything in hub. Emails ,texts etc. When I delete it does nothing . The text issue is bad. Started 24 hours ago on z30 and a few days ago on z10. Tmobile and simple mobile networks. We are experienced bb users. Anyone know what is going on. We rebooted and same issues. Thanks

  • BlackBerry Z10, so many frustrating issues

    I have been using my Blackberry Z10 for 4 months.  I still have so many issues that don't work like I would like, and I know if there is something that can fix them.  There is a list, for sure there are more that I don't remember right now. 
    Battery: it never arrives to low charge before turning off.  Close to 35-30% it goes to sleep.  I tried some of the solutions I´ve read (full charge after taking out battery, reset, etc) but nothing worked.
    Two times blocked: Since last OS update, I unlock the phone with my key and some seconds later another screen asks me to put the key again.  It doesn't happen always, but very frequently.
    GPS and tracking: I downloaded every app for tracking gps, like Endomondo, Runkeeper, etc, and no one works.  It is always "searching for satellites".  Sometimes, in an hour, it gets the satellites for e few seconds.  I downloaded GPS Status, as mentioned in other forums, and it works.  But not the other apps.
    Transferring files: When I connect it to the computer and want to transfer files from internal memory or the microSD card, it looses connectivity while transferring.  I have to move files to the SDcard, then take it out and transfer them in the SDcard reader in the computer.
    Music stops while playing: very frequently music makes very little pauses during the play.  I hate that when I play music.  I kill all the tasks, so the only thing running is the Music, but it is not solved.
    Wrong words learned: when you make a mistake and type wrongly a word, it remembers it and suggest it up to the end.  For example: it seems I once wrote "Germn" instead of  "Germán".  So I type G+e and it suggest me "Germn", then I type the r, and continues suggesting "Germn".  I hate that.
    Automatic message in the mail account: I must turn off the Automatic message "Sent from my smartphone..." every few hours.  It goes back to on and put that message again...
    Any idea of possible solutions?

    If you had one or two issues, I'd suggest tackling them individually but because you're experiencing issues at this level, your OS should be looked at.
    What OS are you currently running? To find this out, swipe down and select Settings>(Category - OS) and give us the OS version.

  • Wipe data blackberry Z10

    i'm just wipe my data in blackberry Z10, after it finish and start to loading with blackberry icon, after it finish too, my screen just black and nothing happen, im already wait for it, what should i do? can you help me

    After you power up the device and the screen goes black, is the device ON or OFF?
    What happens if you use your finger to SWIPE UP on the screen?

  • 3G Issue in Blackberry Z10

    Do you find this issue happening if you leave Wi-Fi hotspots?  Also when did the issue start?  Have you tried a new SIM card into the BlackBerry Z10?  Also does the signal go down to edge or gsm in lower case letters?

  • Blackberry Z10 saving and uploading issue

    I got my blackberry a week ago, and I haven't been able to save files from the browser. When I click save, it doesn't do anything. I can't upload files to facebook or bbm straight from in the app either, I have to share them. I can only save images straight from the facebook app, and if I try to save while in the browser, nothing happens. This also happens when I'm trying to save other files such as applications. 
    Any help would be appreciated

    If its a genuine Blackberry battery and charger, get a replacement, if its a generic then get your money back.

  • BlackBerry Z10 - Battery Issue

    My BlackBerry Z10 shutdowns automatically when the battery level reaches 20%........ Is this a bug or what? Do you have a solution for this?

    If Rob's solution didn't work for you, the next step would be to reload your OS.  This sounds like a software issue so reloading the OS should correct it.
    To do this, plug your phone in to your PC and open BlackBerry Link.  Once your phone has been recognized by the software, click your phone name at the bottom then click Restore and reload the most recent backup.

  • Blackberry Z10 USB Mass Storage issues

    My Blackberry Z10 doesnt show up on my PC as a Mass Storage Device, and if I go into the settings on the phone the setting to turn it on only applies to the SD card. I have Blackberry Link on my PC installed, but putting movies and videos onto the Z10 this way is so much harder than simply dragging and dropping if it simply popped up as a drive on my laptop. Ive read the manual online and seen that my Z10 should pop up as a Drive on my computer, one drive for SD card and one for the main storage, so where am i going wrong, why cant i find this drive on my computer. One point to note was that before i installed Blackberry link, the first time i plugged the phone into my laptop it popped up as a drive on my laptop with links to download Blackberry, but i dont think it was the real drive, now i cant get the drive anywhere, it doesnt come up when i plug the phone in or if i click computer it isnt in the list of drives. HELP would be much appreicated! Thanks

    "There are 3 possible causes for this issue, and these are as follows:
    The BlackBerry 10 device is not currently enrolled​ on a BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 server.
    The shared network drives have not been configured​ in the BlackBerry Work Drives application.
    The File Manager is being accessed from the person​al perimeter instead of the work perimeter.

  • Blackberry Z10 Issues

    Hello,
    Before I get into the issues with my device, is there really no area where we can just directly email technical support? I dislike having to register an account or needing to have twitter just to ask a few questions (even being able to post on a forum without needing an account would be okay).
    Anyways, a relative recently got a Blackberry Z10, and there are a couple things we're trying to find out. 
    1. When using the keyboard, is there any way to press backspace multiple times without it deleting everything? If I want to delete a few characeters/words, it can get really frustrating when the entire message is erased.
    2. With the keyboards on other cellphones I've had, if uppercase is selected, all the letters are uppercase, and if lowercase is selected, all the letters are shown in lowercase. With the Blackberry Z10, all letters are in uppercase regardless of which case it is actually in. Is there a way it can do as I've described above so it's less confusing?

    Predictive text uses the space bar area on the Z10 keyboard to suggest a full word, when it disagrees with the word you have typed. Often this is useful. Frequently, however, I intend the word I have typed, so how does one move the cursor to leave a space and type the next word? I can't figure it out. If I start typing the next word, the keyboard will go back to spacebar but the next word is added without a space beside the previous one. Is there anyway to override the suggested word so that the space bar is available?
