Blacklisted IP address?? Help!

I have been having many problems with mac mail - the most recent and most worrying that not all my emails are arriving at their recipients and not all emails directed to me are arriving to my account.
I use a .mac account as my main email. I also use this as my business address so it's stressing me quite a bit apart from making me look stupid to clients!
I have been emailing mac support over the last day or so and they have told me it is definitely not a .mac server issue ( despite I can see other people on the forums having similar problems!?)
but more likely that my IP addresses are blacklisted. It seems that this can happen if your IP is suspected of trafficing spam.
Not sure why then that I have been blacklisted as I only use my email for normal corespondance between clients and friends and rarely send out mass group mails and I certainly am not trying to sell viagra en mass!
( I use different IP at my studio & at home and it has been happening in both places )
I have checked if my IP addresses are blacklisted through a site called www.mxtoolbox.com and right enough it says they both are. I really feel a bit out of my depth here and not really sure what to do.
The website I checked on seems to have a section to unblacklist you by entering details etc though as I'm in the UK it's of no help to me being only for USA/CANADA.
Now I'm lost. Anyone please have any ideas what I can do to releave this? Is this in fact a legitimate thing that can happen? Is there a way to become unblacklisted...?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • How to add the IP address helper command to the switch

    Hi
I am trouble shooting a SF 200-48P and I am a bit lost without a CLI not used to the GUI. What I need to know is how to add the IP address helper command to the switch?
I have a number of IP phones which are not getting an IP address from DHCP (PCs which are diasy chained off the phones are all working correctly). On the higher end switches I would have added the IP address helper command to the VLAN and that would have sorted it. However I can't seem to figure out how to do this on the small business switch.
    Thanks
    Lorne

Thanks Rizwan. I was banging my head wishing they weren't small business switches as I felt lost without the command line!

  • BT Web Address Help service, i dont want BT interc...

Hi Guys, I came accross this service yesterday when trying to navigate to a URL that is no longer valid, after doing this i was redirected to a BT Web page saying the URL is invalid and suggesting some alternative pages for me rather than just getting the usual page not found msg from the web browser, i understand this could be a usefull service but i do not appreciate BT hijacking my search information without my express permission even if it is to help me, anyway a quick google search gave me 1 link with instructions of how to disable this service, I cannot find any official information from BT on any of its own sites with regards to this service, it totally smacks of the secret phorm trial that BT was running some time ago. anyway if this happens to you here is a link to the page that helped me to disable it if you so wish.

    Hi all
Web Address Help is a new service launched by BT which provides useful search results in place of an error message when a URL has been typed incorrectly. Customers are automatically given Web Address Help unless they tell us they don’t want it. It is easy to opt out if you would prefer not to have this service.
We have further information about Web Address Help on our Help pages on BT.com.  This page contains clear instructions on how to opt out.  Please use this link to find out more:  http://www.bt.com/help/webaddresshelp

  • BT Web address help screws up local name resolutio...

I discovered that since the move to BT Infinity, my nightly NAS backup has been failing.
It's an rsync job backing up from one qnap NAS to another.  The destination NAS is named in the rynsc job setup.  Ater much faffing I found that the name was resolving completely elsewhere.  After much more faffing I located BT web address help sending back the "duff" IP address.
Am I right in thinking that if the DNS sent back a domain unkown message, then the NAS would have tried (and succeeded) to resolve the name locally.
Can anyone who actually knows about networking confirm this?  It doesn't seem terribly useful for BT web address help to do this.  I've opted out and I think I have got my local name resolution working again.  Tonight's backup will tell.
    Thanks
    Graham

Web address help will upset quite a few things, so its best to stay opted out.
If it still fails tonight, then let me know, and I may have a few other suggestions.

  • Cant disable BT Web Address Help

One of my vpn clients can connect to the VPN but is unable to do anything when they are connected.
I have been trying to get him to disable the BT Web Address Help service but when ever he disables it, saves the setting and closes the browser, it seems to change back to enabled again when he checks back on the preferences page.
He has tried to change this setting on 2 machines in his house and they all appear to enable themselves again.
    Any help is much appreciated.

It shouldn't be doing that (though I too have had it enabled again, just the once, which was very recent - no idea why).
Since I opted out (again), it has remained disabled.
I guess his only option is to call or email BT and ask them to look in to this, or he could sign up to these forums and then ask the forum mods to look in to this.
Putting what is stated on the status of the web address help aside, what happens if he deliberately uses an incomplete URL, for example bthomehub.hom (missing the e - it should be home) - does it go to a BTYahoo page or give an error message?

  • Blacklist an address or bounce an email back - how to?

I'm used to a couple of email accounts that I've had through a 3rd party web hosting service (namecheap.com).  Using their cPanel configuration panel I'm able to maintain a list of whole or partial email addresses as a blacklist, where any incoming emails that match the set criteria are intercepted and a message is sent to the originator ("This account is no longer active") then discards the message.  I've found that this has worked quite well over the years at keeping unwanted originators from continuing to spam my email accounts.  It seems as if it's so easy for someone who is really curious about another to search for and discover their email address, whether it's a simple search or through one of the person locator services like Intelius.  At my age I don't want to be hearing from John at the bowling alley where I worked part time 40 years ago or Jane who still holds out hope that I'll take her out to dinner.  :-)
I've recently set up an iCloud email account and would like to know how I can protect myself in a similar manner in iCloud.  I've looked around and can't find anything that addresses this issue.
On a related note, I find that I haven't received a single email that I'd consider spam through my iCloud account. Is this due to some super spam filtering that Apple uses?
    Thanks,
    -Tod

    Hey there Trishna51,
It sounds like you are seeing your photos grouped together by date, rather than the view you are used to seeing. From what you are describing, it seems like you are seeing either the Moments, or Collections view in the photos app. You can switch to the Camera Roll view in Albums located at the bottom of the Photos window:

  • Address help

I want to create a spreadsheet that I can share and edit with someone who does not have a make that includes names, address, email, numbers, etc. of guest to a party. I would then like to be able to print address labels for those entries using on the name and address information. Can I do this in excel or other word program. I know I could print the labels from my MAC address book but that does not allow me to have a chart I can share with other non-mac users. HELP

What do you need help with?
Yes, you could do it quite easily using Excel. If you need help using Excel, you should look to the Microsoft forums at
    http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=community
AddressBook can also export in vCard which is a standard, cross-platform format compatible with most contact info manager apps.
You could send the other person(s) a Group vCard and they can import and print the list themselves.

  • Inter-VLAN routing, Auto-Voice VLAN and IP Address-Helper

Hope that somebody can help me with the setup in the screenshot.
Planning to use Auto-Voice VLAN and Smartports to configure VOIP
LLDP-MED will be enabled on the switch to detect the IP phones so they will be moved to the Voice VLAN (If not the first 6 signs will be added to the OID table). The Voice VLAN ID will be 2 >> Voice VLAN will be automatically enabled once a device is recognized as a IP phone right?
Workstations will be connected to the Cisco switch, VLAN data will be untagged and will remain on the native VLAN.
Smartports will be used to configure the ports (Macro's) >> Should configure the ports as trunks as assigns the correct VLANs right?
But how do i configure the IP Helper-Address? Do i have to create the Voice VLAN on both switches and then run the command "IP Helper Address" to specify a DHCP server? From what i've been reading it's required, when using Inter-VLAN routing, to configure the VLAN interface with an IP address. But it's going to give problems when both switches are connected to eachother and both have the same VLAN configured including the same IP address assigned to their VLAN interface?
Normal data should pass  the ASA firewall, VOIP traffic should go through the Vigor modem to a hosted VOIP provider. The best way, i assume, is to configure 2 separate scopes on the DHCP server?
Still confused on how to set it up, hope that someone can point me in the right direction

If you're sending voice to only the Vigor modem then there is no need for a trunk between the SF-300 and the Vigor modem. You can just set that to an untag packet for the VLAN 2 between that switch and the Vigor modem.
On the 'edge' SF300 where the IP phone/PC is it is obviously going to interoute there and of course the phone port is tagged and PC port is untagged.
For the IP helper, it uses UDP-RELAY and it should be enabled on the port itself and enabled on the global configuration. You may also need option 82. Also keep in mind, depending how your DHCP server works, it may need option 82 configured as well or at least a route to understand the subnets in the layer 3 environment to get traffic across the VLANS.

  • Mail and address Help!

    Hi,
My original HD crashed and I installed a new one with a fresh Tiger install with multiple updates. I had just prior to the crash copied contents onto an external HD (non-boot able) Transferring files to the new HD, photos & movies seems apparent, however the address book and e-mails isn’t working.
From mail, attempts import mail from the external drive by locating the .emix files won’t work. All the files are grayed. I transferred the external drive inbox .emix files to a folder on my desktop. I’m able to open each file from there but still unable to import into my current e-mail even from the desktop folder. After reviewing forums I tried emix convert, but this results in a message (utility unable to detect valid files for conversion)
The address book contents on the external drive user/Library/application support/addressBook
    LastImport.plist
    Images
    AddressBook.data.previous
    AddressBook.data.beforesave
    AddressBook.data
    ABSubscribedPerson.skIndexInverted
    ABPerson.skIndexInverted
    ABPerson.index
When I attempt to import into my current address book all the files are grayed. After transferring those files to my desktop trying to open them results in (there is no default application specified to open document)
    Please help!

    Use this link...
    http://www.cosmicsoft.net/emlxconvert.html
    emlx to mbox Converter
In Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger", the default message format for Mail messages changed from the Apple custom mbox-package format to the new emlx format (where messages are stored in individual files for Spotlight indexing). However, if you need to recover from a hard drive crash, it's almost impossible to recover your mail messages easily since Mail won't import emlx files and you can't add them to your mailboxes any other way.
This tool will convert your individual emlx mail files (found in ~/Library/Mail/) to the old mbox format, used by almost every UNIX/Linux mail client and recognized by many more.
With this tool, you could convert some individual emlx files to mbox and then import the mbox file using Mail for Mac OS X or almost any other mail client.
To use the tool, drag your emlx files into the main window. Click the "Save mbox..." button and a prompt will appear, allowing you to save an mbox file.
Version 1.0.3 improves performance and now supports "partial" emlx files.
Download the tool for Mac OS X or for Windows.
