Blackmagic only progressive?

Hi,
i use the Blackmagic Decklink 2 with Premiere CS6 and the (HDMI) Videooutput is always progressive.
The Sequenzsettings are SONY XDCAM HD422 1080i/p and I use Sony XDCAM mxf files.
Decklink 2 works fine with Sony Vegas (progressive AND interlaced)
Ist there anywhere a special adjustment/setting neccasary?

If I create a new Sequenz, I choose in CS6: "XDCAM HD 422 1080i25 (50i)" (Yes, PAL Area)
Then I can choose in "Settings": "Sony XDCAM HD422 1080i/p" and "25 Frames p/sec"
My Footage ist XDCAM HD 422 PAL with 50 interlaced pictures.
If I choose 50 Frames per second, the playback on the second HDMI PC-output is fine, but the Blackmagic did not work.
I can't find any adjustement for the interlace playback setting in Adobe Premiere CS 6 with the Blackmagic Decklink.
I have try every settings with the Blackmagic panel, but there is no change.

Syncing problem - showing only progress bar

The syncing keeps showing the progress bar but not actually showing whats moving onto the iphone, like the song, video, etc. I believe it isnt doing anything because it takes forever 4+ hrs and i've only selected about 200mp3 and 500jpegs.
How can I find out the problem here?

No toolbars, but several plugins in the internet plugins folders, one in the User/Library, the rest in the system Library. I'm suspecting one of the recent ones, & will try to get to checking it tonight.
Make sure there's enough free space on the startup disk. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space.
Another probable cause, all right. I'm struggling to get the seemed-big-at-the-time 60GB drive back up to 10% . Ah well, must press on with that quest, I guess.

Setting Progressive Wrecks Output Quality

I have a Premiere sequence that contains only progressive footage, all comps rendered from After Effects. The Premiere project is PAL widescreen, which by default sets to Lower Field first.
The client wants this as MPEG2, so I add the sequence to Media Encoder. It reports the source as Lower Field, as it would, but I need the output to be Progressive, so I set that in the Basic Video Settings dialog.
I can see in the preview that the quality deteriorates severely, with edges pixellating and textures fizzing and swimming through shot as the camera moves. Nasty.
If I set the output to Lower Field, the quality is fine.
I don't understand why setting Progressive, deinterlacing, is doing so much damage to the output - it's wholly unacceptable to me and the client, but I'm a bit stuck and need some help please.
The client is putting this movie onto kiosks, and the media players they use, according to the supplier, need CBR 5.5 Mbps and Progressive. I can query why not Lower Field, but that aside, it's this issue of setting Progressive doing so much damage.

Which is a not dissimilar issue, at least on the quality hit. So I created a new sequence, but this time changed the default Lower Field First to Progressive, in Sequence Settings. Now I'm getting the expected decent MPEG2 output - progressive footage, progressive sequence, progressive output.
I went through alot of formats this morning, both in Premiere and Media Encoder, but in every case, outputting the Premiere sequence (set to Lower Field) as Progressive, resulted in badly degraded video.
I guess what threw me was that I jumped from Premiere Pro 6.5 to CS5.5, and in Pro 6.5 I recall you would set a PAL Widescreen sequence which was Lower Field first, load up both progressive and interlaced footage, edit that, then output a Progressive file without problems.
I'm wondering now what CS5.5 is actually doing to cause this issue, and indeed what I should do if I need to mix Progressive and Lower Field ... on this experience, use a Progressive sequence I guess. I suppose I had better run some tests and get familiar with how and what.

Any progress indicator when pacman is downloading many files?

Is there any way we can know the progress when a large number of files are being downloaded by pacman during updates etc. Only progress of each file is shown. Gross idea is obtained by noting if core/extra/community packages are being downloaded.
A simple <filenumber> of <totalfiles> being downloaded message would be very helpful. I could not find any reference to this in the excellent wiki page:

HT1379 i tried to update and there was an error, i tried again. when i tried to start, i get the chime and a progress bar that goes about 25% then disappears and the computer turns off. nothing works. it does this every time i try to start

i just received a mac book pro from my dad. while trying to get used to it i tried to upgrade the os which failed because of an error. i tried again. when i tried to start later, i get a chime, and progress bar, and a spinning wheel. after 1 minute the bar is only progressed 25% then it disappears and the screen goes black. none of the keys work. I tried to re boot and the same thing happens. what do i do?

If it's new and you don't have anything on it yet, you can reinstall the OS from scratch. You don't say what OS or model, but try booting while holding down the Command and R keys. If you get the recovery partition, use Disk Utility to reformat the disk then reinstall.
This will wipe out everything on the drive though.

Firefox crashed and will not restart (get "Crash Reporter only), what do I do?

When attempting to launch Firefox I get this Crash Reporter prompt (http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr307/rgf/MozillaCrashReporter.jpg). Clicking "Restart Firefox" does not work. I tried downloading Firefox again but it did not resolve the problem.

Any suggestions?
Tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Tried opening in safe mode. Tried creating a new profile. The only progress is that a window now opens for a split second before the Crash reporter.

When playback progressive video in FCP X it will have flicker effect, how can i remove it

when i shoot video in PAL 25p , and it will play in my imac with FCP X this video have flicker effects and 30p will show small flicker, when i use 25i format there are no flicker effect in FCP X, in canon 7D have only progressive video (1080p) i want PAL , how i can remove this flicker effects, any method have in FCP X

Itunes is not working on windows 7

I loaded itunes 10.5 on windows 7 on my new computer (HP laptop) and it was working. I tried to transfer my itunes library by copying over the itunes file from my old computer to my my new computer and started receiving errors (I believe they said something about exceeding my quota). Anyway, I cancelled the copy, and when I tried to open itunes, nothing happened. I uninstalled itunes and reinstalled and still nothing happened. I have uninstalled in the order that Apple says to uninstall to remove all of the programs and have used file search to uninstall anything that has Apple, itunes or Quicktime. I have purged the temp. files and emptied the recycle bin and have even restored my computer to an old restore point before installing itunes. The only progress I have made is now when I start itunes I get the license agreement and then nothing else. I have looked at my task manager and it shows that the license agreement starts and then nothing starts after that.
Any suggestions? Any files that I would not be removing by looking for Apple, itunes or Quicktime?

Using AEBS with d-Link 655 (or "how do you set up a bridge?")

Please help - I am at the end of my rope and am now treading into uncharted territory.
Basically I want to see if I can have my MacBook working (wirelessly) through the AEBS wireless router, and our Windows PC working (wirelessly) through a d-Link DIR-655 router, utilizing one cable modem. I'd prefer to use only one router, but the Windows PC absolutely refuses to maintain an internet connection with the AEBS; after two days of trying everything I can possibly think of to fix the problem, the only progress I've made is that every log indicates that things are perfectly fine when I have no internet connection. The d-Link works much better with the PC, and works fine with my MacBook, but I really want the ability to print remotely. I tried hooking up a print server to the d-Link and got it working, but it turned out it's not compatible with my printer.
I have to set up the system using my MacBook, as the PC is nowhere near our cable modem. The AEBS shows up in Airport Utility; the d-Link has to be set up via web browser.
My understanding is that I could use the AEBS as a bridge, but I really am not sure what I'm doing. I have the hardware set up this way:
Cable modem - ethernet cable - d-Link's WAN port
d-Link's LAN port - ethernet cable - AEBS WAN port
During setup, I have:
AEBS LAN port - ethernet cable - MacBook
Both systems were already set up to operate as wireless routers on their own, each with a different SSID. I managed to get into the Airport Utility and change the AEBS to work as a WDS remote. (I wasn't sure if I wanted to do that or select "extended network.") Since saving that setting, I can no longer get into Airport Utility to make any additional changes. (I read somewhere that both routers should have the same SSID and password. Is that true?)
The AEBS light is green. The only router showing up in my Airport wireless menu is the d-Link, however. Is that how it's supposed to work? If so, how on earth do I know whether I'm connecting to the d-Link or the Airport router?
Of course, this would be a lot cheaper and easier if I could just get the darned AEBS to maintain an internet connection with the PC. If anyone has any ideas I haven't tried yet on that one, I'd love to hear them.

I guess my other question would be if this is even the right setup if I want to be able to use my printer with the AEBS and my MacBook. (I don't need to share the printer with the PC.)

No Longer Can Connect to Server on Apple TV?

Where to begin. My Apple TV stopped working approximately three weeks ago. I remember it well. I had just purchased an album on iTunes using my Apple TV and the screen blinked about six times. Then, it turned off. I'm honestly not sure what happend right after that. Now, when I turn it on from sleep mode, I get a screen with just two icons showing after hitting the back button: Computers and Settings.
I've tried unplugging power cords and connecting cables (for both Apple TV and television). I've also already read some of the discussions here and tried Reset, Restore, and Restart. No good.
I've also noticed, at the same time, that I could not download the album I bought on iTunes using my Macbook. iTunes would ask me multiple times to sign in, yet it would not let me download the purchase. I even tried to do this on my iMac at my parents' house. No good. I was told I had to authorize the computer when it was already authorized and the only option was to deauthorize it. Even that didn't work.
This is also the exact same time where I stopped using Verizon as my Internet provider and started using the Xfinity hotspot. In the Settings tab, I have the Xfinity hotspot chosen and it's showing full strength. The hotspot works for my Macbook and iPhone perfectly, full bars.
The only progress I've made, about two days ago, was that iTunes finally let me download the album I purchased onto my Macbook. I'm not sure how or why.

You have a network issue. ATV can not connect to the internet. The fact that you also could not download to your Macbook until recently means more than just the ATV was effected. The fact that NONE of the icons are there means that there is no internet access at all. Meaning that iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, etc. are all not able to connect. The service strength indicator is just showing the WiFi single strength. It is not an indication of actual internet access.
You mentioned you used to use Verizon. Was this cellular internet service? You might try contacting this new service provider and asking if they limit or throtal some online services like Netflix or iTunes. Some service providers do. Since the problem started with this new service provider you might contact them and ask them to look into the problem.

Having removed the hard drive I'm finding I can't reformat it. I manage to mount the HD but Disk Utility crashes when trying to format (HD attached to Mac via Newer Tech. SATA cables to USB) and causes what I think is a kernal panic on my Mac which hard crashes. I see 3 partitions when attempting to mount one of which is AFP. Anyone got any ideas about how to do this? I've dug around but the only progress I've made is to note others have had to work around ACL's when replacing the logic board of the TC. Not sure if this even relates to the problem. However the tool for doing this seems to have been removed from SL. (Forum references to this procedure all relate to 10.5).

Error when using aerender

I am getting this error randomly when using After Effects with our render farm. We use Deadline as our render manager

When a certain machine fails it has to be rebooted before it will work again. And other machines will render the job just fine. All machines are configured the same way.
What seems to be the problem based on this error is that there is a "comma" being put in the path and the end of the string. Here is the detailed data from the machine when it errors. This error seems to happen randomly on multiple machines.

Connecting a MBP to a PC

HELP ME! I'm sure this question has been asked about a thousand times before but anyway..
I have a lovely new MBP and I'm trying to connect it wirelessly to my Dell desktop PC. I have tried everything and nothing seems to work. The only progress I have made is that if I connect them directly with a cable via the ethernet ports then the PC can see the MBP and I can transfer files but the MBP doesn't see the PC in Network Browser. I have pinged the PC from the MBP and it works fine so what's going on????!

I'd agree, based on my experience. In 2009, I had an MBP on Wi-Fi and a PC on ethernet. The ONLY time I could get them to see each other and share was when I plugged the ethernet into the MBP. BOTH wireless was a no-go too. They had to be hard wired to connect.

ITunes 7.4.3 doesn't work on Vista

I've been battling with this problem for about a week now, and I've been looking everywhere for an answer to this, but I've found none.
I upgraded iTunes from 7.4.2 to 7.4.3 last week, and restarted my computer when prompted. I tried opening it up...and it didn't work. Vista gave me the message that "iTunes has stopped working." Within the week, the only progress I made was plugging in my iPod to charge it (at which point, the same message popped up, but the error must've been slightly different because it let me send in an error report), and downloading Songbird so I could actually listen to my songs.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I don't want to completely delete iTunes, but if worse comes to worse, I will

My iTunes hasn't been working since July/August when Apple upgraded iTunes. I am able to open up iTunes but it freezes as soon as it is open. The only thing I know is you should install it by right-click and choose "run as administrator". Disable all the Internet security, anti-virus, and firewall software when you download or install.
I haven't found any solution yet.

Extremely Slow Backup

I have 2.2.1 installed on my 8GB 3G model and I'm trying to backup my iPhone but it is taking a ridiculous amount of time. I let it go this morning for 5 hours and it still only progressed half of the status bar. I've tried for several days now and each time it is working cause I can see the status bar moving, but it takes so long I can't just leave my phone there to let it finish. I don't have Facebook on my iPhone, I've deleted all the old backups from my system and it seems like I've had this problem for a while now. I'm only using a little less than half the space. What is causing this to be so slow and what can I do to remedy it? Thanks in advance!

Have you checked if there are any updates for the 25-30 apps you currently have installed on your iPhone which have not been installed yet?
Do you have the FaceBook app installed running the current version for the app? FaceBook released an update for the FaceBook app last week.
A number of people using the FaceBook app have reported deleting and re-installing the app significantly improves the backup time. I have the FaceBook app installed running the current version, and my iPhone's backup takes less than two minutes.
The number of apps should affect the backup time, but the number of apps that create and store data which are actively used can increase the backup time since all data created and stored by a 3rd party app is included with your iPhone's backup.
