Blackout is not repating in grid control

Dear All,
We have any daily activity of database Refresh at night. During this activity we have to shut down all our DR databases after that we have to apply increment copy to DR database with the help of Global mirroring technique. So during Refresh activity we do not want any alerts , so i have blackout those database during refresh activity.Once we scheduled blackout it run for one time . After successful completion -- status in grid control show "ended". But it do not repeat for next day. we have tried so many times .We have to delete old one and schedule a new one for this.
version: 10.2.0.3
Is there any setting for same that repeat automatically for next day? Please reply soon ...

Agent installed.. but not visible in Grid Control

Hello guys,
i have installed a new Oracle Grid Control (OMS with new database/repository) and upgraded it to 10.2.0.4.
After that i have installed a Oracle Grid control agent 10.2.0.4 agent on a host and configured it.. but the host is not visible in the Oracle Grid control.
The agent itself seems to work.
UPDATE: The problem is solved.. it was described in metalinknote #389528.1... the problem was that after the upgrade to 10.2.0.4 the secure configuration on the OMS was corrupted.

I got the same error and as mentioned on the metalink note I fixed the problem.
however, on target tab of EM if I search clicking on the button ADD it is still dont finding the agent on the another host.
everythin seems to be ok....
any tips friends ?

New agent not show in grid control

I had 10.2.0.1 agent register in grid control 10.2.0.4.
I delete agent from grid control OEM target GUI interface. delete agent home directory from target machine,
then I install a 10.2.0.4 agent on target machine, but this agent did not show up in the grid control OEM . why?

You can check the status of deleted targets in setup -> Management Services and Repository -> deleted targets (click on the number)
In this screen check the status, make sure your targets have fully deleted before trying to re-add them.
You can also do a force remove.

The configure database page not appear in grid control

when i try to configure a database target in grid control appear a error . i know that the nslookup not working correctly because these machines not adding to dns server
it's possible communication between oms and agent whithout an dns server, only adding lines in the /etc/hosts

Which self Service function you are using to change the assignment ?
Their are two API to update asg values. Try to apply user hook on both of them and retry ur scenario.

Oracle application related target not show in grid control 11g (11.1.0)

hi all
i insall grid contrlol on r12(12.1.1) and it work very fine detect all target r12 database plus oracle application server all target...
but my problem is, when i connect it to another system r12(12.1.3) by agent silent installation...it detect oracle r12 database but not detect any target related to oracle application server such as oracle ebusiness suit,http server or any target related to application server...
os linux 5.4.
acutally i want to configure plug in 4.0
i follow metalink doc 1224313.1( i apply all the patch that are mentained in this document..)
plz plz plz help me or refer me any doc any blog or any thig by which i can detect oracle application target in grid control..

Is not there grid control 10g for windows 64bits... ?

I checked the softwares in Oracle.com and I do not find the grid control 10g for windows 64bits...... only for 32bits.
Can I use the software of 32 bits in the 64bits OS ?
I downloaded the 32bits software and I tried to install it but the OUI dissapear suddently....

Surprising but I think you are correct, there is no 64 bit Windows release available for EM(Grid Console), neither on OTN nor on Edelivery. In a general speak, yes 32 bit version should get installed on 64 bit.

Problem in deleting backup job in Grid Control

Hi,
The topology and versions are as follows:
1 windows 2003 server with Oracle Grid Control 10.2.0.4.0.
1 windows 2003 server with Oracle Databases 10.2.0.3.
1 windows 2003 server with Oracle Databases 10.2.0.3 - Data Guard setup
I have tried to stop (and delete) some scheduled fullbackup jobs from Grid Control.
The job has now status SUSPEND. I have tried to stop and delete the job, but I get the message:
All executions of the job were stopped successfully. Currently running steps will not be stopped.
I cannot delete the job and the job is not running.
I have run this procedure in order to delete the job:

Data Guard, Grid Control 11, GI 11gR2, and DB 10gR2

Hi,
I'm seeing a rather odd behavior, and I'm hoping someone else has already been through this and knows what I'm doing wrong.
I have an installation of Grid Control 11.1 (recently patched) which I am using to create Data Guard replication of some 10gR2 database instances. For some confusing reason, sometimes when I use the GC wizard to add the standby database, it creates the listener for the new database in the EM Agent's OH/network/admin/listener.ora. Other times, it creates it in the 10gR2 DB's OH/network/admin/listener.ora. When it does the former, creation of the standby DB seems to work fine, but when it does the latter, not so much.
If it matters, my primary DB is 10.2.0.4 on 10.2 grid infrastructure, and my standbys are 10.2.0.4 on GI 11.2.0.2.
I have applied the latest PSU to my agents, so they are all the same version, so I'm confused as to why this might be happening. Has anyone else seen this issue?

My recommendation would be to not use OEM Grid Control to create your standby.
Even when it is working properly ... it does not create what I would consider a good implementation. Just as I don't consider the vanilla installation of the Oracle database by the OUI (all control files and redo logs in the same directory with the datafiles) very good.
You'd be far better off hand crafting your standby using two listeners ... one for public and one for replication.

HOW TO RELINK OEM GRID CONTROL 10.1.0.2 ON AIX 5L

We are in process for patching our OS from 5.3-01+APARs to 5.3-02 and usually we relink all our oracle products after OS patching.
I have notes for DB and AS but not for OEM GRID CONTROL.
Any help are appreciated.

Removing incidents in grid control from backend repos database.

Like we remove alerts sometimes by deleting from mgmt_severity, is there any table which can help me remove some incidents which are not clearing in grid control 12C?
I really need it please.

What kinds of incidents are not clearing?
For stateless incidents (such as logfile based incidents) you will need to manually clear the incident. You can remove the underlying alert using emcli clear_stateless_alerts.

The other alerts should be cleared by fixing the root cause after which the Incident should clear automatically.

Oracle Grid Control 10.2.0.3 can´t configure databases

I installed the Grid Agent (10.2.0.5) in host1 for monitoring the database (10.2.0.5) inside him. I did the same in host2, that has Agent (11.1.0.1) and Database (11.2.0.2). Both Agents are pointing to the same Grid Control Management Server.
Grid control has a separated server with Grid Control OMS and Agent installed (10.2.0.3).
This host1 was added to the grid control target hosts, and the database too. The secure option is disabled.
First Problem: metrics collection error in Grid Control for database target.
My Solution: Deconfigured the Oracle DBControl in host1 and host2 (it was configured with a local repository) dropping the repository, and I used | emca -config agent | to create a link to the agent in local machine.
New state: Now the OEM show the targets apparently been monitored. When a target fall down the OEM send allerts normally.
Second Problem: When I click in a host, database, listener, or any of the targets, intending the log in the instance it take about 5 minutes and returns: "No Response from Application Web Server There was no response from the application web server for the page you requested. Please notify the site's webmaster and try your request again later. "
My solution: I didn´t find one. HELP!
For coincidence, all databases actually monitored (8) are 10.2.0.4 or down. All of these can be managed by click in target names by OEM. Could it be the version of the new databases?

This version of AD4J is not integrated with Grid Control, and can be setup on any server by unzipping the downloaded file (no installer). I did find the installation/configuration documentation lacking, but worked through it with a little help from Oracle Support.
The AD4J console has the look and feel of Grid Control, but is totally separate app with its own Apache server, etc.

Hi Everyone,
We are planning to deploy 11g Grid Control on our Environment. Before that i was asked to document list of all the default items that are monitored with Grid Control and list of all the default items that are not monitored. I know some of the default items that are monitored like space, alert log, high avaliability, process capacity.
Can i get any document that specifically explains the default items monitored and items that re not monitored by Grid Control?

In GRID you can configure multiple targets.
GRID can be used for montoring,
to track the status of performance,
I/o's ,
RMAN backup job reports,
Tablespace administration,
Threshold settings
Online reorganization, rebuild indexex, gather stats.

Change hostname for Grid Control

Hi All,
I have installed OEM grid control 10gr2(10.2.0) on solaris. The installation was successfull.
the grid control login page appeared to be as
http://localhost:4889/em
I do not understand why grid control installation has picked up the localhost and local ip address 127.0.0.1 instead of using the server hostname and server ipaddress
Lets say i have following entries in /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.4.51 abc.xyz.com abc
how to change the GRID url to http://abc.xyz.com:4889/em?

Can Oracle Application Diagnostics for Java used with Grid Control 10.2.0.3

I have installed Grid Control 10.2.0.3 in Solaris 10.
I was asked to install AD4J . Is it necessary to upgrade Grid Control to 10.2.0.4 for installing AD4J or can I use the present 10.2.0.3 version withour upgrading it ?
