Blackscreen, chime sounds but nothing happens, help pls!
as preface the powerbook's dvd drive as on all of my powerbooks does not work anymore....
when i press the restart button the chime sounds and there is some HD acivity but the screen stays black, this happened after it was working just fine and i did a restart. i tried pressing the restart button for a while to reset. nothing.

About the only thing you can do is to reset the PMU and PRAM, and try a safe start. If none of those work, without a working DVD drive, or the ability to see anything on the screen, it's a trip to your local Apple store or Apple Authorized Service provider.

Click the Apple logo at the top left hand corner and go down to Force Quit. Then force the Finder to restart/quit.
Otherwise you can use the Command-Option-Escape short cut keys to open up Force Quit and force the Finder to quit. -

The problem is your friend's music does not belong to you. It is owned by your friend.
I'm afraid you cannot do what you are trying to do. Restoring the iPhone is what you would have to do.
In the future, put your music on the computer and transfer it to the iPhone, not the other way. -
I just got it back from the apple store and they reset it (becuase it kept shutting down and not turning back on).
I put in a new password because i needed to start over from factory settings, but now it doesnt let me log in anymore. (I don't know if this is because it doesnt accpet my password, or I forgot my password in less than 5 minutes, or because when i typed in my new password, i typed it in wrong twice)
Command R doesnt work, all i hear is a sound, but nothing happens.What I don't understand is why it is rejecting a password I am creating.
Perhaps the password you are creating is too short, or has characters that are not allowed, or is not secure enough because it is a word in a dictionary.
FileVault may have standards for what it considers an acceptable password. If the password is part of the 128-bit encryption scheme, it might have to be 16 characters, for example. (Don't know if that is true, but it's a possibility.) Check your documentation for password requirements. -

Installed PE12 in June, but haven't used it since. Tried to open using shortcut and program, but nothing happens, help?
Should I uninstall and reinstall, and if so does that cause additional problems?I'm having the same problem. I used it one day and everything was fine...next day, nothing will open. Tried uninstalling and re-installing numerous times but no change. Tried to contact support and they don't support this product (I just purchased it in August). Am VERY disheartened with their customer support.

Toshiba equium a100-147- light turns on but nothing happens - HELP
My mum has a toshiba equium a100-147, and it doesn't appear to want to turn on.
The power light sometimes only comes on very dim when you pess the power button, other times it comes on bright.
I've tried unplugging the HDD and putting it back in, tried it with just one of the each sticks of ram in, checked that it's just a screen issue by plugging it into an external HDD, all with no luck. I did even unplug and plug the screen into the laptop itself just incase the cable came a bit loose.
Basically though, it does turn on, like the fans and the light comes on, but absolutely nothing else happens. The screen doesn't turn on at all.
Anything I can do?That doesn't appear to be a US model, and this is the forums for Toshiba USA. You may want to contact Toshiba in your region. If it's a European model, you could check the Toshiba Europe forums.

So I got 10 failed passcode attempts on my iPod but it did not erase it's data. I had the option ticked to do so, any help?
Reset your device by holding the sleep/wake and home (shown below) buttons until the apple logo pops up, that should solve the problem. Don't worry it's completely harmless. Then, make sure it's on and try failing 10 times again

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My itunes account doesn't list "devices" above the playlist, as the syncing instructions give. How can I sync the itunes I have purchased & downloaded to my computer, to my ipod shuffle? The device is plugged into my computer, but nothing happens. Shouldn't the computer recognize the device? It doesn't. Please help!
As a test, shut down your computer and disconnect ALL USB devices. Do this procedure to Reset the shuffle

Start up computer with nothing connected, except for standard keyboard and mouse (if it's not a laptop). Run iTunes. Connect shuffle to a direct USB port on the computer. See if there's any improvement,
If the shuffle is now recognized, there may have been a USB device conflict previously, or maybe all of the devices connected at the same time overloads the USB bus (for power). An iPod charges its battery while connected, so it is a high-power USB device. -

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace

Hello, I used to work with RAD 7 and WAS 6.0 and call a DataSource from my servlet by using a reference I created earlier from RAD itselt. Now I'm working on RAD 7.5 and WAS 7.0 and I tried to create a reference to the same DS, but there is no field
