Blade server is start but virtual machine is not started
i have a oracle virtual machine on blade server if any outage or planned activity is done the blade server is started automatically but virtual machines is not started
manually start the virtual machines any suggestions kindly share me.
Hi user,
As long as youhave access to the linux sever from your windows server, you're good to go. Open your admin tool, go to File --> Open --> Offline.
The Open window pops up. On the "File Name" field, enter the path of rpd file in the linux server (Ex: \\Server_Name\local\MyRpd.rpd). Select the file, and voilà!
I hope this helps.

Starting Virtual Machine will not start from hibernate mode.
Hi. I had a BSOD and upon rebooting my machine one of my virtual machines is stuck in "hibernate" mode and will not boot up.
I attempted to restore to previous versions of the vmc, but that did not work.
The error i receive is.
"Could not enable integration functions"
Retry or Continue.
Selecting "Continue" states "the operation failed. The virtual machine is not running"
Does anyone have any idea how to get a VPC up and running from this situation?
Thanks, TimHi Dear Bob Comer,
My Laptop Windows 7 Suddenly "Shutdown". When I start it, it goes in recovery, after more than 5 hours I will Forcefully restart from Button, and start Windows 7.
Problem-1: Butt all environments OK butt very slow on any action, click on my computer or opening of any application very slow.
Problem 2: When I Click on Windows Virtual PC after long time I have same problem like "Could not enable integration

I have used the Article ID: 2249906 to try and resove this error. It only started since I have created a dediacted SQL 2008 Server on the network. This is my attempt, so far using icacls:
icacls "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual hard disks\XYZ-SQL.vhd" /grant "NT VIRTUAL MACHINE
\13101CB0-271Z-4434-9736-E1DE331D316BZ":F
NT VIRTUAL MACHINE\13101CB0-271Z-4434-9736-E1DE331D316BZ: No mapping between account names and security
IDs was done.Successfully processed 0 files; Failed processing 1 files
Any ideas as this is becoming very disruptive to the network as the VM is a DC.
Many Thanks
Paul.BFrom your description it sounds as if you have two VMs trying to use the exact same virtual disk. And this is not possible without using differencing disks in between. (it will give the error you describe when trying to power on the second).
Beyond that, I would have expected the configuraiton change to work. Another possibility is simply creating a new VM using the existing virutal disk. This is non-descructive as well and absolutely re-creates all of the VM objects and generates
new security identifiers.
If that does not work, then there is more to this puzzle than has been mentioned here and you will need to provide greater detail.

[Forum FAQ] Resolve virtual machines fail to start issues
After you restart the Hyper-V Host server and the guest virtual machines, you may encounter the error:
An error occurred while attempting to start the selected virtual machines(s).
Here are three common issues.
Issue 1
On a Windows Server 2008-based machine that has the Hyper-V role installed,
or on a Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008-based machine, you encounter the following:
• When you try to connect to a virtual machine, error occurs:
Cannot connect to the virtual machine because the authentication certificate is expired or invalid. Would you like to try connecting again,
• When you start a virtual machine, error occurs (Figure 1):
An error occurred while attempting to change the state of virtual machine
‘VMname’
'VMName' failed to initialize.
Could not initialize machine remoting system. Error: ‘Unspecified error’ (0x80004005).
Could not find a usable certificate. Error:
‘Unspecified error’(0x80004005).
Figure 1: ‘Unspecified error’ (0x80004005).
Cause:
This issue may occur if the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management service (VMMS) certificate has expired.
Solution:
Install the Hotfix.
You cannot connect to a virtual machine when the Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V VMMS certificate has expired
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/kb967902/en-us
Workaround:
Follow the steps below to generate a new certificate.
1. Shut down or save all virtual machines.
2. Restart the Hyper-V VMMS.
3. Start the virtual machines.
Note:As the Hyper-V VMMS certificate is valid for one year, the update has to be applied to prevent this issue from occurring in the future.Issue

Virtual Machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running
Hi
I have installed Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition with a GUI. Default configuration, nothing special.
Whenever I want to turn on any machine inside of Hyper-V, the following error message appears:
"Virtual Machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running"
Whenever this happens, I run the following command:
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype Auto
and reboot the Server. After a reboot, all Virtual Machines can be started without Problems. However, as soon as I shut down the Server instead of rebooting it, the Problem happens again and I need to enter the command again and reboot.
Now my question is how to solve this Problem. I never had this Issue with Windows Server 2008 R2, maybe there are some differences regarding the Hypervisor in Server 2012. How can I make sure the Hypervisor is always on, even after a Shutdown? Thanks in
AdvanceHi,
Please check whether you have event log with ID 3112.
Hyper-V requires hardware support, including: an x64 CPU; VT (Intel) or AMD-V (AMD) hardware extensions; No eXecute (NX)/eXecute Disable (XD) and full BIOS support for hardware virtualization.
Check if the computer meets the hardware requirements, use the appropriate utility for your CPU manufacturer.
If the computer meets the requirements for Microsoft virtualization software, see the video titled
Hypervisor is not running error: How to fix
, which demonstrates how to change the system BIOS on a computer to enable support for virtualization. Make sure DEP and CPU virtualization is enabled in BIOS. (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=163578
Also, check that
Boot Configuration Data (BCD) store is set to start the hypervisor, and then restart your physical computer.
The BCD store contains boot configuration parameters and controls how the operating system is started in Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 operating systems. These parameters were previously in the Boot.ini file (in BIOS-based operating
systems) or in the nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM) entries (in Extensible Firmware Interface-based operating systems).
You can use the Bcdedit.exe command-line tool to update BCD store with the correct launch options as referenced in the error, and then restart the server. Bcdedit.exe is located in the \Windows\System32 directory by default.

I am unable to create new VMs as well.
I have already run
sfc/ scannow
DISM
Already Tried disabling the antivirus
Upon using wbemtest and connecting to root\virtualization, I am able to click Enum Classes > Recursive
Kindly suggest how to get HyperV working please. Any help (short of reinstalling /resetting windows) would be much appreciated.
Warm Regards,
Dr Vivek GuptaHi,
The key point would be this:
The Virtual Machine Worker Process has lost its connection to the root\virtualization WMI namespace: General access denied error (0x80070005).
Please open MMC, add Component Services snap-in:
Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer -> DCOM Config -> Windows Management Instrumentation -> Right Click, Properties -> Security “Launch and Activation Permission” -> Edit -> gave Authenticated Users
Full Control
Check the result.

Virtual machine could not be started because hypervisor is not running
I am having trouble starting a VM. I am suspecting that it might be due to my hardware. I have a Dell Optiplex 755 A09. Processor is Intel Duo Core E4500 @2.2Ghz Hyperthreading = No and 2 mb cache. I had this computer given to me, but would like to run Hypervisor on it if possible. Can the processor be upgraded, if so, what would I have to purchase in order to make hypervisor work?
I m using HP Prolient BL460C Blade Server with Intel Xeon(R) E 5450 @3.00 GHz.
and facing problem with the error "the
virtual machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running"
I tried following in BIOS:
- No-Execute Memory Protection - Enabled
- Intel Virtualization Technology - Enabled
but I get Blue Screen, after that I came through link below to change the registry setting mentioned by Rajiv as above, and thx to him I did not face Blue Screen after that...(Dont really know what Blue Screen has to do with Hibernate/sleep mode)
http://www.computers.nepalesemap.com/index.php?topic=1554.0
I shutdown and cold-booted the server properly.
But still I am still at the same point "the
virtual machine could not be started because the hypervisor is not running"
Some
more suggestions ?

Hello,
Recently in Dec I bought a new desktop PC.
HP ENVY Desktop h8-1420t
CPU & ChipSet: Intel Core i7 Intel Z75
I have Windows 8 Pro and installed Hyper V but cannot start the virtual machines. I get the following error message: Virtual machine 'zzzz' could not be started because the hypervisor is not running
I followed these steps to enable Hyper-V:
1. Upgraded to Windows 8 Pro
2. Tried to add Hyper-V feature but Hyper-V Platform was grayed out
3. Enabled Virtualization in the BIOS - security configuarion
4. Cold booted Computer
5. Added the Hyper-V Platform Feature
6. During the restart machine was in forever state spinnign state, did a manual reboot
7. Disabled Virtualization in the BIOS again
8. Successfully Re-Booted the Computer now Hyper V manager was available
9. Configured Hyper V network to use external network
10. Created a new VM through the Hyper-V Manager
12. Tried to boot up teh newly Created VM and I get this error message:
Virtual machine 'zzzz' could not be started because the hypervisor is not running
Any solutions for the error I am seeing above?

Vritual Fibel adapter failed to start the Virtual Machine
Hi All,
I have installed windows server 2012 R2 RTM with Hyper-V. I have created virtual machine with virtual fiber channel adapter connected to physical one. When I start the virtual machine it gets failed to start and the following error occurs.
Thanks,take a lool on that
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/18698.hyper-v-virtual-fibre-channel-troubleshooting-guide.aspx
I guess also that some Part of the Chain do not Support all needed Settings like NPIV.
dealing with vFC inside a Guest ist really tricky and following Support Matrix is really key, it starts on the FCP SAN Array and Ends up having the latest Hotfixes regarding vFC Problems. Between you need to have all Setup right and supported Drivers,
FW and so on.
In my view using this Feature you loss the my most Importent Sexy Thing why i do Virtualisation ? beeing seperate from the HW Layer.

Is is possible to install X64 windows server 2008 R2 on Virtual machine 2007 Service pack1?
I am trying to install window server 2008R2 X64 on virtual machine 2007 service pack 1. But unable to proceed. while refering various forum,
It is listed that from service pack1 we can install windows 7 & window server 2008 std edition. But nowhere it listed that window server 2008R2 is supported or not.
Can one let me know if it fisible to install window server 2008R2 X64 on virtual pc 2007 or any work around.
Thanks,
AKI'd ask them over here.

I cant start 2 Virtual machines at the same time in a Hyper-V enabled machine
Hi,
I have installed Windows 2008 Enterprise edition. Updated all patched from windows updated. Add the Hyper-V role and installed Windows 2003 in one Virtual Machine and Windows 2008 in another. After the first VM installation itself i had the problem as the below error was coming ibn.
I has to shutdown the Windows 2003 to install Windows 2008.
Now i can only run 1 OS at a time. Shut down 1 to start the other

SharathI have both the vm's created in different drives. E drive is my DVD drive....
I renamed them,Reinstalled OS, Created a new set of vm's after the first i get the error
It works fine if i stop 1 vm and install the other or stop 1 and start the other...Running both at the same time is the problem -
Hi all,
Having a bit of a nightmare with Hyper-V on my Windows 8 Pro laptop - Whenever I create a new VM and try to start it I receive the following error;
'Failed to start the virtual machine 'test' because one of the Hyper-V components is not running.'
I sometimes also receive an error saying something along the lines of 'Unable to change virtual machine state'
I have done a lot of searching a seen two common answers - The first is to try removing the Hyper-V role and re-adding it - I have tried this several times to no avail. (Intel VT and all virtualisation capabilities are enabled in BIOS). The second issue
it would seem
some people have had relates to editing the VMX configuration file and adding the line
hypervisor.cpuid.v0 = "FALSE" - I thought VMX files were only present in VMware Virtual Machines...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
JamesThe hypervisor event log message is generated only at boot - so this would be expected. Also vmbus should not be running on the host (I was looking at a VM yesterday)... This error message is generated only when the vid is determined not to be
running or cannot communicate with the hypervisor.
I have seen this due to anti-virus software in the past or due to driver verifier being configured. Since it looks like you checked driver verifier already do you have anti-virus software installed? If so have you followed the best practices
and exempted the Hyper-v services?

To resolve this problem, configure the real-time scanning component within your antivirus software to exclude the following directories and files:
Default virtual machine configuration directory (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Hyper-V)
Custom virtual machine configuration directories
Default virtual hard disk drive directory (C:\Users\Public\Documents\Hyper-V\Virtual Hard Disks)
Custom virtual hard disk drive directories
Custom replication data directories, if you are using Hyper-V Replica
Snapshot directories
Vmms.exe (Note: This file may have to be configured as a process exclusion within the antivirus software.)
Vmwp.exe (Note: This file may have to be configured as a process exclusion within the antivirus software.)

An error occured when trying to start the virtual machine
I am getting an error whn trying to start an hyperv vm. The error is shown attached. any idea?
Hi,
Please confirm you dismount that guest VM disk first and did you install the AV soft on Hyper-V host? If yes, also please try to disable the AV soft then try to start the
guest vm again.
