Blank blue screen no sign in/ password boxes.

I havw downloaded latest skype version. I get cloud box, but no paswword, username boxes.
And the suggested solution does not appear to work for me, because the "accessories" item does not appear in my windows version.
So can you help me - I need skype to stay in touch with my daughter in Thailand for an ongoing custody hearing.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I had the same blank blue Skype screen. Like many others, I uninstalled, reinstalled Skype many times using IE, Firefox, Opera. Always the same blank blue screen.
When I tried the method described here, it did not work for me.
However, I tried the method again and deleted the mentioned files; I uninstalled Skype, I deleted “SkypeSetup.exe” file from the “Downloads” folder. Using Opera browser, I downloaded Skype setup file again. Surprisingly the name of the file was “SkypeSetupFull.exe”
When I ran Skype, the sign in buttons were there, everything was back to normal. I hope this may help someone.
Good luck.

  • Blank blue screen at start up

    Hello,
I have a newer iBook and somehow it got stuck on blank blue screen upon startup. The normal screen no longer appears where I am expected to enter my password etc.
A friend was recently using it only watching videos & movies while we were traveling.
Not sure if she accidentally entered a command but, now I can't use the computer at all.
How do I reboot/reset it without losing my data etc. Or is there a simpler trick to get UN stuck from the blank blue screen?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Blank blue screen and then computer crashes.

I'm having a lot of problems with Skype desktop on a Win 7 64 bit machine.  It has worked fine on this machine until the past few days.
When I call someone the call connects but i get a blank blue screen and cannot interact with Skype.  If I try to access other programmes the computer hangs (the call still continues) and I'm forced to do a hard shutdown.
Also when I go to check the settings it hangs when setting up the web cam.
I've unistalled and reinstalled Skype and the webcam software ensured that I have the latest versions of these and IE.
I have followed the instructions here http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Solution-for-empty-blank-login-screen/td-p/1008... and checked that my webcam is operating correctly here http://www.trust.com/en/faq/webcam.
None of this has worked.  Any suggestions as to what I should try next.

  • Blank Blue Screen of Death, Insane Nois

I have what I believe is called an OEM version of the Sound Blaster Audigy II (I.E. it came with my Dell system). For the most part, everything works very well. However, occasionally when I am playing games, the system will suddenly crash. It gives me a blank blue screen (like a BSOD without text) and my speakers make what seems like the highest pitch noise possible, while my subwoofer rumbles out something purty dang awful low. It is very loud, loud enough to be heard all over the house.
Thus far, it has only happened while I was playing games. It usually seems to happen when a very lot of noises are being played at the same time---Like when charging toward storm troopers who are firing madly while pieces of a nearby building fall, or when engaged in huge WarCraft III battles.
I got the latest drivers from Dell, since I read elsewhere on this forum that you don't recommend using your drivers with OEM versions, but it has not solved the problem. Is there anything you can do, or should I be bugging Dell?
    Thank you for your time,

what can i suggest for you, is go to control panel // performance and maintenence// system//hardware// device manager//scroll down to sounds and video game controllers //select teh creative sb audigy and right click // driver // driver details// make sure all your drivers are digitally signed on with the green check mark...
    that worked for me..
the way you do it make sure when you install the drivers, to have any anti virus software turned off that is what helped me out.

  • HP Split x2 blank blue screen

I powered down and system didn't turn off, just left me hanging with a blank blue screen. So I turned it off at the power switch and turned it on again...I got the password prompt, put my password in...and got the same blank blue screen. Would really appreciate assistance here as I need the computer for work...

I found the solution for my problem:
    Useless entries in the registry!
Have a look with the command "REGEDIT" at:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion > Winlogon
If you can find "AutoAdminLogon" set it to "0" (Zero). Sometimes you will also find "AutoLogonSID", which contains an not-existing-anymore account from the previous installation routine.

Thanks very much for any help

    Hi
    Check this:
Click right on the desktop and choose Personalize.
There you should check the area: Basis design and design with high contrast
    Choose Windows 7 basic.
    Then reboot the unit.
Usually this should help to get the Windows 7 common design and desktop settings.
But if this will not help then you could use an fast solution which would be a usage of the recovery disk of HDD recovery option.
This would format the HDD and would reinstall everything again

  • What does it mean when you computer crashes and when you turn it back on it shows you a blank blue screen with a little folder and a question mark in the middle?

What does it mean when you computer crashes and when you turn it back on it shows you a blank blue screen with a little folder and a question mark in the middle? It's a old imac from 1997.

I don't have original discs that it came with.
Then you still can use the second option with the keyboard combo I posted, called "resetting the PRAM."
Also when you way hold the c key down do you mean turn computer off and turn back on holding the c key?
Yes, or you can simply restart. As you don't have the CDs, this isn't on the plate any more.
The internal backup battery is not expensive and, in most iMacs is user-replacable. If yours has a tray-loading optical drive like this one:
it takes a major teardown to replace the internal battery. If this is the case, you'd be better off to leave the computer plugged in all the time; that eliminates the main reason for having a working battery.
If it has a slot-loading optical drive like this one:
things are much easier. The battery is visible through the RAM access door on the bottom of the computer case. The manual:
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iMacG3_2000UserManual.PDF
has sketches of how to access the RAM and therefore the backup battery. Unfortunately, the pdf on the manual goes up sideways on-screen and the RAM instructions are pretty deep into the manual. It's probably easier to scroll (for a while) to the section on adding RAM and print the applicable pages.
When you work on the battery, some sort of non-conductive pliers or large tweezer or forceps help unless you have tiny fingers. Make sure to note the polarity of the old battery and install the new one in the same orientation.
The battery itself is readily available. If price is no oblect, you can get it for a small rasom from Radio Shack Store ("Tandy" outside the US) as part number 23-026.
Online, they are dirt-cheap even after adding shipping. I buy backup batteries form this outfit:

  • Blank blue screen on startup

This has been an intermittant problem lately. When starting up the computer I just get a blank blue screen on the monitor. Other times the monitor just shows the clock marks going round and round and seems frozen. A quick push of the power button will put the computer to sleep then when I wake it from the keyboard the dashboard and desktop icons appear but with a blank grey screen, not with my chosen wallpaper.
A restart will just bring me back to the blank blue screen. Powering down seems to reset everything and I get the normal bootup action on the monitor. What's going on?

  • My OS X is die  ??  Blank blue Screen at start up.....

one day in the middle of use my Macbook Pro all the suddenly the screen all get scremble. and the machine just hang can't even reboot.
SO i takeoff the battery to reboot, but now all i get is a blank blue screen after the Apple Logo.
i try boot in safe mode.
i go as far as the login screen after login then just OS x10.5 default wallpaper and nothing etc ?
so how can i make my macbook work again ?
i really don't want to reinstall the OS as the comp also get another bootcamp partition.
    so any suggestion ?
    thx

True, everyone should but not everyone does. Some people, newcomers especially, have the naive idea that when they spend a lot of money on something it should work, so they don't worry that any day could be their computers last. I guess we all have to go through something like this so we learn the lesson. I hope that in the future he'll just get an inexpensive usb drive and use time machine if he wants. It works pretty well.
In the meantime we have to get him going again with the least criticism applied. The page I referenced is nonjudgemental and, I thought, contained the advice you gave him in a somewhat neater format.
Peace, and thanks for helping a fellow Macintosher

  • Blank Blue Screen

Whenever I start up my computer, I'm taken to the HP startup menu, but whenever I try to boot menu or boot recovery, it takes me to the blank blue screen. When I try crtl+alt+delete, a black screen flashes but takes me back to the HP startup menu. Please help.

If the memory and hard drive tests passed, then you may only need to reinstall the operating system. Unfortunately, if you can't get to the recovery partition through F11, you'll need to use external disks. I don't see that recovery disks are still available to purchase for this system. If you created a set when you got the system, you can use those. Otherwise you may need to purchase a retail version of an operating system.
