Blank dialog boxes problem

When trying to modify properties, that use a pop-up dialog box, by right-clicking on a component or by using the properties panel the information in these dialog boxes are not visible.
I'm working with Update6 (but without installing this upgrade I have the same problem).

I mentioned I have this problem when trying to use a datasource pointing to Informix.
I created a database server type for Informix followed by a Data Source using this entry.
What I see is that when doing a View Data, the system gives me the records of the table.
But nothing works when using this daa source in my page.

    You have SCADS of extensions and the things running. McAfee, Intego, Orbicule, CleanMyMac, and others I've not ever even heard of. My first recommendation would be to remove all of these and see if things improve.

  • File Info just gives me a blank dialog box

    I am just starting to use PS CS4. I am using a PC with Windows XP 64, 8 GB of RAM etc. The problem I am having is that when I try to add a caption to an image by going to File Info, I get a blank dialog box. It gives the filename at the top but just plain white blank inside the box. The same thing happens in File Info within Bridge. In the metadata panel in Bridge, I can see the metadata is there, including previous captions. But I cannot access them in File Info and I also cannot activate the caption within the metadata panel to edit the caption text.
    Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how can it be fixed?
    Thanks,
    Roberta O.

    Hi Roberta,
    Create a new text file named XMP.cfg (make sure the extension is cfg and not txt).
    The only text that needs to be in that file is as below:
    C:\
    Copy the file to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust (create the directory if not already there).
    Restart the Adobe application and check the File Info panel again.

  • Adobe Acrobat Professional X - shows blank dialog boxes with vertical bars

    The file and print screen and the file and properties screen both show mainly blank screens with vertical bars only on them, no text at all.
    Looking around the forum I found it may be a font problem.  Is there a way to know which font or if that is actually the problem and how do you resolve that?
    This is on a Windows 7 - 64bit system with Adobe Acrobat Professional X (10.1.12) installed.
    Thank you.

    Help!

    You'll need to find your iTunes folder. It's usually located on your main hard disk under My Documents/My Music/iTunes. Copy this whole folder to another hard drive (if possible) or burn it on a CD (probably will take more than one--depending upon how large your library is) or DVD. Once you have a good backup of your library, try downloading and reinstalling iTunes.

  • Blank Dialog Boxes with PUSH ME blue buttons

    Greetings All,
    I'm a fairly experienced Mac User and have been a bit surprised recently to be getting blank dialog boxes with buttons. Could it be some sort of spyware hoping I'll just push the blue buttons?
    It seems to come up once my Mac has been on for a while.
    Today I clicked a link at a website I frequently visit. I did so in FIREFOX and it's one of the few sites I allow for pop up windows. The link doesn't lead to a popup, but it did in this case: a blank window with blank buttons.
    http://www.screenplayhouse.com/temp/blank.jpg
    I quit FIREFOX and won another such window. I logged out, logged in, and it's gone.
    Is there some utility I can open-- like Activity monitor-- and find out what these windows are attached to?
    Just curious,
    Me
    (I have two similar Macs but only this one seems to do it.)

    I would look in Console and see if anything is being reported as you're experiencing this. (Console is in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder). If something is, post it here.
    When the window is visible, switch to the Finder by clicking on its icon in the Dock. Then click onto the dialog to activate its window. See if the application name in the upper left corner changes when the dialog window comes forward. If it does, then it would most likely be the name of the application that's created the dialog. If it doesn't change, then it could be created by either the Finder or by an invisible background application whose LSUIElement is set to 1 so that it doesn't appear in the Dock or in the Force quit window (it should show in Activity Monitor though). To determine which one it is, do the following. Switch to another application, like TextEdit, by clicking on its icon in the Dock. Then click on the dialog window again to bring it forward. If the application name shown in the upper left still says TextEdit, then you know that the dialog is being created by a background application.
    If it is, Open Activity Monitor and change the scope to All Processes. Quit as many open applications as possible, and then bring the dialog forward again. A pulsating button should use a small amount of CPU usage, try to use that to help narrow down what process might be causing it. Also, most likely any application that's drawing a button will have the "/System/Library/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/
    HIToolbox.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Extras.rsrc" file listed as an open file in the Open Files and Ports tab of an info window of Activity Monitor. (You can open an info window for an application by double-clicking on it in Activity Monitor).
    Hope this helps....

  • Blank dialog box with button "Fix" at startup

    Hi! It happened like this: I was searching for a .jpg with spotlight. I found the one I wanted. I clicked on it, and up came a dialog box "You are opening the application "Picture Viewer" for the first time." Without thinking, I clicked on it. Then I noticed that the Hard Drive was working away, but "Picture Viewer" was not listed as an active application. I got worried that maybe some unknown bug was working away at erasing my HD, so I powered down by holding the power button on my G4 12" Powerbook.
    When I restarted, everything seemed to work. Except that a blank dialog box came up after startup, with only one button: "Fix". I don't know whether to click on "Fix" or not....
    thanks for any help you may be able to give!

    Do you still have Classic installed? Picture Viewer is a very old Classic application. I would guess that you still have it installed somewhere, but deleted the Classic System Folder, and the jpeg in question is rather elderly and still registered with LaunchServices as belonging to Picture Viewer. If that is true, then what happened is things thrashed around since the program couldn't launch. By powering down with power button you may have damaged some files. But I don't know what the Fix button is. Have never seen it.
    Anyway, find the file again, do GetInfo and change the Open With to Preview, then click the Apply to All button.

  • Dialog Box Problem

    i have created dialog box manually using stage and modility. the problem is when the dialog box executes the code following dialog box
    gets executed before closing the dialog box. i want to use it like confirmation box in swing. i want to stop further execution of code till yes/no button of dialog box clicked.please suggest... please help me....

    Ok, so it doesn't look like there is an easy way to do modality in JFX. I had thought since Swing does and JFX uses the same threading model that it should be do-able, but from what I can tell, Swing does some serious magic under the covers to make modal dialogs work.
    Your best bet probably is to use callbacks instead. Make your own dialog window and instead of doing something like this:
    int choice = MyDialog.show("Are you sure you want to do that?");
    if (choice == MyDialog.OK)
        doTheAction();
    } Do something more like:
    MyDialog dialog = new MyDialog("Are you sure you want to do that?");
    dialog.setOnOk(new EventHandler<ActionEvent>()
        public void handle(ActionEvent actionEvent)
            doTheAction();
    });In fairness, that is probably a bit more 'correct' anyway and inline with the JFX style of doing things (although it is more code).
    Here's some very, very rough code for doing something like what you want. You could obviously customise the class to take an enum of the button options available etc. It could all be improved a lot.
    public class TestApp extends Application
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
            launch(args);
        public void start(final Stage stage) throws Exception
            StackPane rootPane = new StackPane();

  • Reader 9, blank dialog box, can't open PDF from web

    I have a newly custom built computer running XP Pro (Quad-core with 3g of ram). I have a fresh install of Reader 9 and Firefox 3.0.1. When trying to open a PDF shipping label from USPS.com, Reader opens and an empty dialog box appears with only the OK button. When I click OK, Reader closes. I cannot print my shipping labels. Please help.

    Same problem here. It took me a while, but I got it to work.
    Changing on how the content type would be handled did it for me.
    Check the image here:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Image:Fx3Applications.png
    I needed to change the entry for 'PDF Document'. I set it to the top option. Doing this and testing it right away yielded in a crash. After restarting firefox the problems were gone.
    More info on the image above: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Adobe_Reader
    My guess is that the Adobe reader couldn't handle the fact that firefox hadn't downloaded the document yet, but was still trying to get it to open.

  • Wizard Dialog  Box Problems - Screen Redraws

    I've encountered a frequently occurring problem with JDev dialog boxes. After launching and entering into a wizard, the
    dialog boxes do not draw correctly on my screen. For example, if I try using the Create Table Wizard, the input boxes for the table name,datatype, etc.. become a jumbled mess on the screen. I've tried re-sizing the dialog box and this has worked to some degree, but sadly in most cases it doesn't help. I don't think (although it's possible) that it's a bug on my computer.
    Any ideas? Workarounds? Solutions?

    Personally I would recommend against using JDK 1.4, either to run JDeveloper itself with, or to simply run your projects with.
    I've experienced some problems with that version, while the default 1.3.x works just fine. Problems range from minor GUI glitches to complete deadlocks in JClient applications.

  • Having a dialog box problem in InDesign CC

    The dialog boxes on my just downloaded version of InDesign CC look like Windows dialog boxes, not Mac ones (although Save and Save As do appear as normal OSX design). Obviously I am on a Mac and don't want a partial Mac version of InDesign. My previous versions, including most recently CS6, have not had this problem. Suggestions?

    Hi there. I don't have anything to help you but I am curious about something you have done that I was told was not possible. I am VERY new to this forum and I wanted to upload an image to one of my posts. However, I couldn't see a way of doing it.
    Thankfully, someone pointed out to me that I had to use Workspaces and gave me a link to the instructions. So in my post, there is only a link, and the reader has to click on it, wait for Workspaces to load etc. I found this very annoying and weird given than most forums allow users to upload simple files.
    I came across your post and you have managed to include the actual images in your post! This is great. It is instant feedback for those who are trying to help you.
    So please, can you tell me how you achieved this without having to go through Workspaces?
    I would love to know.
    Thanks in advance.
