when converting a pdf to word doc it is blank, what can i do to see it?

Could you please explain the work flow that how are you trying to convert the PDF to word ?
Also ,what version of Acrobat are you using?
Which OS do you work on ?
Are you experiencing this any specific PDF or happens with all the PDF' you try to convert it to word?

ExportPDF does a poor job when converting pdf tables to MS Excel tables.
The resulting file had several lines merged into one and had strange font sizes and line heights and widths.
If needed, I can send both files to show what happened.
I am using Adobe Reader 10.1.4, with Adobe ExportPDF (unknown version, bought Oct 4, 2012), MS Excel for Mac 2011, version 12.2.2 (120421) on a MacBook Air with Mac OS X version 10.7.4.

I have the same problem. I would like to convert bank statements to Excel but am only interested in the transaction history. Is it possible to select only certain parts of the document as a template for other conversions?

Word 2013 uses its own pdf creator engine as far as I know. The step I performed were:
1 - In the save settings I told word to embed fonts (sorry for the language, I have the Italian client)
2 - Export from Word -> Save As -> .pdf adding also the table of contents/index
N.B. I cannot use PDF/A, and in any case it doesn't embed the font
A working solution is to use Acrobat XI to convert it or print with Adobe PDF printer, results:
The problems are 2:
1 - It doesn't create any bookmark and doesn't create links from the table of images to the linked images
2 - Images, also with the preset "High Quality Printing" customized using "No compression", are really ugly and if you zoom a bit more than 100% they totally be s**t. It wasn't that way with PDF created by word.
In the end, or I find they way to open the pdf created by word and embedd the missing font, or I find a way to make Acrobat XI creating bookmarks from the word file.
Suggestion?

Why do i always get conversion failure when converting pdf files to xls in exportpdf program?

I have had export pdf for months. I cannot export pdf files to excel files. It always says conversion failure. Anyone have any idea why this is happening? I am so frustrated! This was supposed to make my payroll reports easier, but it has not helped at all.

I can understand your frustration. Are you converting via the ExportPDF website, or from within Adobe Reader? Does the conversion failure occur every time that you try to convert a file (has it ever worked for you)?
Since you're talking about payroll, I'm assuming that you're accessing ExportPDF from a corporate computer. You may want to check with your IT department to make sure there are no firewall/proxy settings that limit your access to the Internet.
Also, make sure that you're using a supported web browser. You can find a list here: System Requirements | Adobe Acrobat Pro and Online Services
Finally, if you're using Reader, you can try disabling OCR (optical character recognition) by following the steps in this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel.

Illustrator cs6 produces blank document when printing or converting to pdf. can someone help?

I use illustrator cs6 tryout. when trying to convert the doc to pdf or print, it is producing blank document. i tried taking help online by trying to click layers but print option in layers is unchecked and greyed out.....so cant do much there...any help?

Acrobat Crashes when converting PDF to .png

I've been having a problem for a while now. I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Pro and when I try to convert PDF to .png, acrobat crashes. It doesnt let me do it and I´ve been trying with different documents. Anyone with the same problem? It would help me a lot if you have a solution. Thanks

You might try reducing the size of the PDF file and then convert to .png.
Also, please check for updates for Acrobat 8 and try repairing.

How do I center my new "Pages" blank document when enlarging it's window

When I use the "Pages" application to type a paper, I try to enlarge the entire window without "Fullscreening" it all.
My problem is this: Once I've expanded the entire "Pages" window from corner to corner, emcompassing the entire monitor screen, however still not actually "Fullscreen", the blank text document I'm trying to type up will stick to the bottom RIGHT hand side of the window and I want to just cent the document, just like it automatically does when using microsoft word.
Also,
When I fullscreen the "pages" application to type up the blank document I'm currently trying to write up, The entire topside tool bar-menu bar - all slides out of veiw unless I hold my mouse upward towards the top and hold it until it comes back down.... I'm sick of that on a level I can't go into detail with on this website, so, please, if anyone out there can also let me know how to make that topside menu bar - toolbar - whatever, stay exactly where it is and NOT auto hide itself, I'd be greatly appreciative to you. Thank you in advance!

Pages doesn't work as Word do. Pages works in another ways.
You are saying " the blank text document I'm trying to type up will stick to the bottom RIGHT hand side of the window". Are you sure as Pages sticks to the left side in the window boths in Pages 09 and 08?
There isn't any option to get the the toolbar or Format bar to show pemanently in Full view.

Error message when converting PDF files to Word

I keep getting an error message "an unexpected error has occured" when trying to convert PDF files to Word. One document was 4MB and the other 9MB. Both are scanned documents.

Adobe Pro creating hyperlinks to original documents when converting

This just started happeing. When I covert an HTML, Text, Word, Powerpoint, etc - it will create a hyperlink to the orginal document in the converted PDF at the bottom of each page. I do not want this hyperlink - how do I remove this feature?

"artifacts" appear when converting PDF to CMYK

When using the Preflight "fixup" to convert a PDF to CMYK only (SWOP), I sometimes end up with jpeg-ish-looking artifacts being added around the edges of logos and in photos. I've been troubleshooting this for a while, changing settings and such, and I think I've determined that it happens with PDFs that have been generated using a lossy compression method. I have figured out a couple of workarounds, but since I process a lot of PDFs (sent to me by others) I'd really like to figure out a way to get the fixup to work when I "Analyze and fix"! Anyone have any ideas??

Right, Jodie . . . I may have a work around for you. Instead of running the preflight bit, use TOOLS, Action Wizard. I have attached an action which you must import using Edit Actions under the Action Wizard menu. Once you have imported the action called DAVID, you can choose to run it on a single pdf, or choose a folder of pdf's. You can edit the action and choose to save the converted pdf/s to another location or overwrite. All your users can import this action so you know that everyone is using the same format. This action checks and converts the pdf to CMYK and as a PDF/X-1A, which is a better format and embeds all fonts and extra bits and is better for a repro/print arena. I have tested it on the file you gave and no artefacts!!! If you want to know more on Action Wizard, go to this link.

Blank window when accessing PDF via IE URL

IE version 6.02 SP3
Adobe Reader 9.1.3 some machines on 9.1.2
Some folks are experiencing a blank window when they click on a PDF URL. Some of the URLs point to a virtual directory and some point directly to a file share. Some of the PDF files have a space in their name and some do not. There are no error messages appearing. Some folks have not seen this issue, others get it most of the time. Some times a refresh will work other times it won't.
Same results whether going through the proxy or to each web server directly. Fiddler shows a HTTP 401 which doesn't make sense since the files are open to everyone. Sometimes I get an IE error message saying it needs to close.
File size is not an issue. When I uncheck 'Display PDF in browser' the blank window issue goes away. But before I settle on that as the solution does anyone have any other suggestions.

Fonts turn into blank documents when copied

Hello,
I've got quite a few fonts here which have worked on every other apple I've used before but which turn into blank documents & won't work in fontbook when copied onto my powerbook. The people I bought it from suggested I re-install the fonts (of which, Interstate is the one I particularly need) from the original disks. Thing is, I've lost them. Any ideas?

How are you "pasting" them? If you are exporting JPG from Illustrator use Worst's Insert > Picture > From File. PNG would probably be a better option for your export, though.
