  • Error occuring when trying to open links in PDF

I have recently upgraded to Acrobat X and have been creating links in my PDF documents as I have previously done with earlier versions.  However when other users are trying to open the links via reader (version X) they are receiving the following error or no error at all and are unable to open the linked website.  It appears some users are still able to open the linked sites and there is no consistency.
    The error displaying is:
acrobat could not run the web browser.  Unknown error (6)
Would be great if someone could tell me what this means and what I should be trying to fix this.

What steps are you taking to open it? It sounds like you may be trying to import the project file into your project.
To open a .prel file, go to the File menu and select Open.
Also, when creating a slideshow, be sure to downsize your photos to no larger than 1000x750 pixels in size, as I say in my books! This will save you a lot of struggles later.

  • Error message when trying to open PDF from Sharepoint

I get an error message they says "There was an error opening this document. The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect." I am running IE9 and Adobe Reader 11, this also happens with IE10. I have made sure that everything is running correctly, but it isn't opening the document within IE like it is supposed too. Any ideas?

    Hi Melissa ,
Could  you please share the screen shot of the error message so that we can have an actual look at the error and would be able to assist you better.
Is this happening with all the PDF' you are trying to open from Sharepoint or some specific one'?

  • Error Message when trying to open PDF

    I keep getting this msg:
Adobe Reader could not open 'auction2015.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
I can't seem to open any attachments.

Firefox has its own built in PDF viewer, all bets are off. Well, it might work, but we don't know anything about it.
In in Safari, no - you must view the PDF - be looking at its pages to be able to save it.
You can also try a right click on the attachment, then a save - this often works and bypasses weirdness in the browser.

  • Why is there suddenly an error message when trying to download pdf documents online: "cannot export document"

Why am I recently receiving an error message when trying to download pdf documents from the web? The message reads: "cannot export document" I've updated Adobe and all software updates are current. The first indication of a problem was when I opened a pdf that I thought downloaded, but the file is blank. Now that doesn't even happen. Any help would be tremendously appreciated! Thank you, KB

I know man what your saying. I should have written it down when it happened last night. I figured if anyone had had the same issue they might know the reason. I'll try doing a test recording today and see if the same issue arises. Meanwhile, if anyone has this happen to them please let me know. Thanks

  • I am gettin an error message when trying to open a contact: "There was a temporary problem accessing your address book. Please try again in 10 minutes."

I am using an Yahoo Email and I can open a list of contacts but getting an error message when trying to open any of them. My OS is Windows Vista Service Pack 2 installed on a desktop.

Does this issue occur on another browser? If this issue does occur on another browser then I would like to say that it is a Yahoo issue and not a Firefox issue.

  • Acrobat 9.0 error message when trying to open

Just got this error message when trying to open Acrobat Pro 9.0:
Has been installed for 6 month, use 4-5 times per week, never had an issue until this. Usually I would do an 'Uninstall' 'Reinstall' before coming to the forum, but it will not allow me to do a 'deactivitation'.Any help at all, thanks.
    System Info:

    Good day,
You can initiate a Repair installation from Control Panel > Programs by clicking on the Acrobat 9 installation, choosing 'Change' then following the prompts for a repair install.
I missed the part where you mentioned the error was occurring on launch.  Sorry about that.
    Kind regards,
