Blank File Info in Bridge 4.05

Hello
I cannot see the info when I right click on a file to get the 'File Info'.
A white page opens but it is blank.
Any Ideas?
Mike Engles

Good day!
Could you please post a screenshot to illustrate the issue?
Does turning off »Use Graphics Processor« in the Performance Preferences and restarting Photoshop have any bearing on the issue?

  • Blank File Info window

I'm using Windows XP and InDesign CS 6. Whenever I go to File>File Info... or if I press AltShiftCtrl+I, I get a useless blank File Info window staring at me. It shows up as a gray page and there are no buttons to click on. I have to hit Escape to get out of it. Please any help would be appreciated on how to solve this issue, which I've been having since InDesign CS5.

  • Blank File Info panel after osx archive and install (CS5)

    Hi,
After osx archive and install I get a blank File Info panel (into AI, PS, ID and other CS5 applications), how could be solved this??
    Best regards, Robert

    Hi,
solved by full remove/install CS5.. but how could be restored correct access rights?
    Also replied me Vikas.Sharma:
Create a new text file named XMP.cfg (make sure the extension is cfg and not txt).
The only text that needs to be in that file is as below:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Custom File Info Panels/
Restart the Adobe application and check the File Info panel again.
You need to copy that file to /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashPlayerTrust (create the directory if not already there)
but, why osx archive and install isnt working fine with flash?
The only troubles (solved) are quicklook flv contents and XMP file info panes into all CS5 applications, could be solved next time by a short and fast procedure?
    Best regards, Robert

  • Blank file info dialog box

    Hi
I have photoshop 11.0.1 installed on windows 7 (Before I used to use Windows XP PRO SP3) and I noticed that  clicking File--->File Info just shows me a blank dialog box instead  of the actual dialog box in which I can input various file properties.  How can I fix that?
P.S. Same happens inside the Bridge and I never experienced this issue when I was on XP. Everything is fine on windows 7 except that blank dialog box in both photoshop and the bridge which is weird.

I'm an already an admin because I'm the only user of my machine. I checked the folder "XMP" in the path C:\Users\My User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe and I found it to be containing only one folder called "Metadata Templates" which is empty.
I checked my old XP installation (which I still have an image backup file for it) and I navigated to:
c:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Adobe\XMP and I found it also to be indentical to my Windows 7 i.e. It still contains only the folder "Metadata Templates" and nothing under it so what might be wrong?
Is there a doucumentation on how to transfer settings correctly of photoshop under XP to the correct locations under windows 7?

  • Custom File Info Panel: Bridge Locks Up (trials, tribulations, woes)

    o/ all!
So I've spent the better part of this morning trying (for what I think is the fifth time this year) to get a custom file info panel installed properly. I've managed to successfully install a generic panel with most of the properties that I'd like in the panel proper, however, I'm having no end of trouble publishing and installing the panels and having them display properly in Bridge CC (64-bit).
I've followed the instructions provided in the Programmer's Guide to the letter (yes, including the trust files), and I'm still having issues.
    -- System Information --
    OS: Windows 7 64-bit
    Flash Builder 4.7 (64-bit)
    Adobe Bridge CC (64-bit)
Right now, all I'm trying to do is:
Create the flash builder project for an XMP File Info Panel
    Publish the file info panel
Confirm the file info panel was installed correctly in Adobe Bridge CC.
    The process:
    1. I create the new project in Flash Builder (I've attempted using the 4.6.0 and 3.6A flex SDKs).
Now, at this point, I'm simply attempting to confirm that everything is hunky-dory with the installation process before I start converting my generic panel into a flash/flex panel; so I'm not modifying any of the files that the wizard created.
    2. Right-click the root project folder in the leftmost pane in Flash Builder, select XMP>Publish.
    3. Locate the published panel's output directory that Flash Builder published to
    4. Copy/paste the published panel's root directory to the following directories:
    C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels\
    C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\
I put the panel definition in all of these folders as per various 'fixes' to what I think my issue is that I've discovered while google-troubleshooting.
    5. Create a trust file in FlashPlayerTrust folder with the name testPanel36A.cfg (contents listed below):
    C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels\testPanel36a\bin\testPanel36a.swf
    C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\testPanel36a\bin\testPanel36a.swf
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels\testPanel36a\bin\testPanel36a.swf
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\testPanel36a\bin\testPanel36a.swf
As far as I know, I can put multiple paths in these .cfg files, but I'm not-at-all confident that this is, in fact, the case.
After all this, I fire up bridge, right click an image file, and select FileInfo. The dialog displays fine, and the panel tab appears on the right. Clicking on the panel reveals nothing but a gray area with no content, and Bridge locks up entirely. I can't cancel out of the dialog, and end up having to end the process from Task Manager.
My gut tells me that I'm doing something wrong with the trust files, as this seems like the issue that most closely resembles what I'm encountering. Secondarily, It may be the flex SDKs -- I only have the 4.6.0 and the 3.6A SDKs, and the link in the Flash Builder dialog takes me to the sourceforge page for Adobe, and from there, I cannot locate any additional older SDKs to try this with (I've seen posts around saying that people got their panels to work with 3.0, or 3.5).
Anyone have ANY insight on this? Seriously at my wits end -- I've tried everything but nothing seems to work . Many thanks,
    .e

    Hi The_Mumm,
You need to correct content fo the .cfg file (hope your .cfg file is at correct directory i.e. C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#Security\FlashPlayerTrust). Yes, I agree that you have followed the documentation and put the path upto .swf file.
Could you please modify the content of the trust file, with the below content (you path have been modified)
    C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels\testPanel36a\bin\
    C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\testPanel36a\bin\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels\testPanel36a\bin\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\custom\testPanel36a\bin\
Hope everything will work now. If it doesn't work, please put only one path in trust file e.g. "C:\Users\Erik\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels" and put the publish panel in this folder.
One more precaution, don't copy, if required move the custom panel from one place to other.
Please let me know if you still faces any issue.  Enjoy you new year.
For your reference, I am following the following steps and everything is working fine
    1. Open the Fb7,
    2. file->new->project
    3. in the new project wizards, select "xmp->custom panel wizard"
    4. xmp->publish custom panel
    5. Open the .cfg file and added the path (C:\Users\<user name>\appdata\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels)  where my panel has got published.
    6. Ran Bridge CC, panel is there and working fine.
One more variations I did is, moved custom panel from C:\Users\<user name>\appdata\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CC (64 Bit)\Custom File Info Panels\4.0\panels  (the location of the custom file info panel inside bridge).
For you doubts I tried with flex SDK 3.3A and 3.6a both worked fine. As in forum you have written that you don't have any other sdk. If you like please go on the following links for older SDKs "http://sourceforge.net/adobe/flexsdk/wiki/Download%20Flex%203/"

  • How can i fix blank "File Info...." in Photoshop CS5?

I wanted to add metadata to some of my photos. However, when I attempted to open "File Info" there was nothing in the dialogue box. It was just empty. Is there a method for fixing this apart from reinstalling Photoshop?

This might also have something to do with your graphics card.
I don't have cS5 loaded, but it might be close to what CS6 has  There are some differences in the acutal panels between the two, but that might be in relation to the swf files.  The main file structure looks something like this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\3.0 with these folders under 3.0: AMT, bin, custom, panels.  There are no files under this folder.
Under the "panels" folder there are all the folders of the tabs: Advanced, audioData, camera, categories, description, dicom, gpsData, history, IPTC, IPTCExt, mobile, origin, rawpacket, and videoData.
Under each of these are folders: bin and location.  And the one file manifest.xml.

  • Bridge CS4 File Info dialog broken

    Hi all,
    I hope somebody may help:
My Bridge used to work fine, until I experienced the following error:
    "Fatal Error in running FileInfo:
Please run the XMP Panels 2.0 STI first and restart your App.
The STI will install necessary swf files to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\2.0\ "
I´m using a VISTA Home Premium 32-bit system.
As I had no idea what is meant by "STI" I simply copied all files from the folder above (...XMP\Custom File Info Panels\2.0\) from a friends machine (same operating system, same Photoshop version) to mine.
Unfortunately this did not solve the problem.
If I now select "File Info" in Bridge CS4, the error is gone. But now an empty window opens. Or better to say, it´s not a window but a blank dialog box with nothing on it but white color. I can close this box by pressing ESC.
    Best regards, Sebastian

I've been having the same problem now for a few weeks and its killing me. Not sure what I can do, but in Photoshop and Bridge, the only programmes I use on a daily basis, it takes me forever to enter file information.
    My specs are:
    eMachines ET-XXXX
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    4GB RAM
    500GB HDD

  • File Info just gives me a blank dialog box

I am just starting to use PS CS4. I am using a PC with Windows XP 64, 8 GB of RAM etc. The problem I am having is that when I try to add a caption to an image by going to File Info, I get a blank dialog box. It gives the filename at the top but just plain white blank inside the box. The same thing happens in File Info within Bridge. In the metadata panel in Bridge, I can see the metadata is there, including previous captions. But I cannot access them in File Info and I also cannot activate the caption within the metadata panel to edit the caption text.
Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how can it be fixed?
    Thanks,
    Roberta O.

    Hi Roberta,
Create a new text file named XMP.cfg (make sure the extension is cfg and not txt).
The only text that needs to be in that file is as below:
    C:\
Copy the file to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust (create the directory if not already there).
Restart the Adobe application and check the File Info panel again.

  • File Info problems in Photoshop CC & CS5.1 on OS X 10.8

I have recently upgraded my Macs, running OS X Mountain Lion, from Photoshop CS5.1 to Photoshop CC for two reasons:
    1. Because it most the most cost efficeint way to obtain the latest Camera Raw plugins that are no longer supported in CS5.1
    2. Because I began experiencing issues on two Macs where initially only in Bridge, was I no longer able to input any File Info dialogue.
I make extensive use of File Info templates, which are then applied to batches of files in Bridge before individual files, or groups of files requiring the identical metadata are modified.
After a time, once the overall batch of File Info templates had been applied to files I discovered that I was unable to edit them further. Even after Repairing Permissions in Disk Utility it usually took a reboot to fix the problem, although the problem was always solved.
However there came a point a few weeks ago when I was unable write any further metadata to File Info, in Bridge or Photoshop, no matter what I did. Again this issue happened on two Macs so I'm guessing that it is not a machine issue.
As I needed the latest Camera RAW plugins as well I decided to upgrade to Photoshop CC, which I have to say I have been very pleased with - until now. The dreaded File Info problem has now occurred again, although currently only in Photoshop, not Bridge. When I try to add or modify any information in File Info in Photoshop CC the dialogue box just closes!
Clearly it is not just a Photoshop CC issue although I never had the problem prior to CS5.1 and I leapfrogged CS6 and I find it hard to believe that it is a machine issue. Could it be a conflict with the OS or with Extensis Suitcase Fusion 4?
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Curt, Thanks for your rapid response.
To answer your questions. I thought that, initially, the problem might be a permissions problem but it occurs on both boot drives and also when the same files are copied to Firewire external drives - on both Macs, but different external drives in each case. I followed your link but there was nothing there that I didn't already know or hadn't already tried, thanks.
One computer is a 24" iMac and the other is a 15" MacBook Pro. I've also tried to replicate the problem on four PowerMac G5s running OS X 10.5.8 with Photoshop/Bridge CS4, with the same drives plugged in, but have experienced no problems at all. It's quite bizarre.
Also, looking deeper into the conundrum, I find that I can't input any numbers, only letters! Using the keyboard all numbers, whether on the main or auxiliary keypads, cause the File Info dialogue box to either jump to a new tab or close. Using Shift on the numbered keys works perfectly however!
It just goes on getting better...

  • Batch File Info problem: (CS3)

As was the case with CS2, when in bridge adding file info. to multiple files, the data entered within Copyright Notice, Copyright Status and Copyright Info URL is shown as entered and correct when checking back the file info. within Bridge - However, if one of those files is then opened in Photoshop and the file info. is checked, the data entered is either incomplete or simply not being shown.
This occurs when working working on TIFFS. When working with JPEG it does not.
    Process:
    1) Bridge - Adding file info.
    - Select multiple files.
    - Right click > File info
    - Enter file info. data.
    - Click ok.
    2) Bridge - Checking file info.
    - Select one of the files file info. has been applied to.
    - Right click > File info.
    - Check info. panels for correct data.
    - All appears correct and as entered.
    3) Photoshop - Checking file info.
    - Open one of the files file info. has been applied to.
    - Check file info:
    i) Having chosen Copyrighted as the option within Copyright Status, now appears untouched and defaults to Unknown!!
ii)Data entered within Copyright Notice appears incomplete, showing only the first sentence and a half. (i.e 22 words, 107 characters (no spaces) 128 characters (with spaces))
iii)Data entered within Copyright Info URL does not appear.
I figured this would have been sorted for CS3?!
For me this is a really major issue, your assistance and a fix are desperately, desperately needed.
    Kind regards
    Will

I am using Vista, but have no problems with opening File Info on multiple files.

  • "Fatal Installation error" when invoking "File Info"

When I invoke "File Info" from Bridge or Photoshop, I get the following error. I reinstalled PShop twice, once even as root, and the problem remains. I've tried CS3 as well and bridge just crashes (log file attached). It also happens with a newly created user account. N

I reinstalled PShop twice, once even as root, and the problem remains.
With 'even in root' you mean you did not so before?
Ideally all applications should be installed in the default applications
folder on root level, every user account has access to them in this way.
It seems to me you have made a bit of a mess of the installation procedure
(don't want to make you angry BTW).
The best way in my opinion would be to back up all your custom settings like
actions, workspaces, tools, brushes etc. And after this go to the PS help
menu and choose deactivate, if necessary repeat this for all the Adobe suite
versions you have on your system (assuming you have all the serial numbers
also backed up in a safe place).
Visit also the clean tool page for CS5 and download the tool after having
    read the instructions.
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html
Then use the uninstaller from one of the suite applications that can be
found in the application folder where you installed it. Also repeat this for
    every suite version.
Use the clean tool to remove everything of CS versions from your system.
Then do system maintenance using the Apple disk Utility  and choose check
and repair permissions. (also check your disk)
Also check if you have the latest OS software with using Apple Software
    update
Now reinstall your main suite version again on root level and use the Adobe
auto update to gain all the latest updates.
You can have multiple version of most suite applications on your system and
even active together but you can only use Bridge version at the time. Bridge
has been improved significant for each new version of CS so use the latest.
    Try again.

  • File Info panel is completely blank

    Hello,
I'm trying to add copyright information into my file metadata.  When I go to File -> File Info, a window frame pops up but is completely blank inside, no text, no forms, no nothing.  I have to press escape to get out of it and back to the program.  This occurs in Bridge, Photoshop and Illustrator.  I'm using CS6 Production Premium on Windows Vista 64 with 16 GB RAM, an AMD Athlon Phenom II X6 1090T 3.20 Ghz processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 250 graphics card.  I have made sure all of my programs are up to date and I can't find anything in any help forums about this.  Please help.
    Thank you,
    Timothy C. Flood

Does metadata actualyl show in Bridge's metadata panel? Have you checked the preferences? This issue usually occurs when you have an invalid custom data field. You may simply need to reset everything.

  • Can't get File/File info to work on image in Pshop CS5 or Bridge CS5

After I've pulled up an image and I go to file/file info, I get a big white box on the screen with the file name of my image across the top of it, and nothing inside. Just a big white box. It's the kind of box that an image would normally go into, not the kind of box that used to show me all the file info. At that point my system is somewhat frozen. I can click on the top choices, eg. Photoshop, file, edit, image, etc., but the choices are all greyed out, forcing me to force quit. What's going on?
I'm running an iMac with Snow Leopard, have 4 gb ram. I'm fully updated to Version 12.0.4, and when I click on 'about' under Photoshop to see what version I have, I see  Version 12.0.4 x32.

    Meri,
This isn't a solution but a possible workaround.
When you view your photo in Bridge instead of using File Info, why not view the information in the Metadata panel.
First I would go to the Bridge preferences, Metadata, and make sure that File Properties, Camera Data EXIF and Camera Raw categories are checked so the info will show up in the Metadata panel. You can check additional categories to show more metadata. (Camera Raw metadata will obviously only appear if the file has actually been opened in Camera Raw)
You should find the information you need in the Metadata panel.
As a aside, are these raw CR2 files from your Canon? Do you have the same issue with .jpegs or .tiffs, etc?
Does the issue still appear if you run Photoshop in 64 bit. I know SnakEyez02 say it didn't make a difference for him. Maybe it will for you.
To run Photoshop in 64 bit, quit Photoshop, in the FINDER select the Photoshop CS5 icon (the application NOT the folder)  Command I and deselect the Open in 32 bit option in the File info window. Restart Photoshop.
    Good Luck!

  • Bridge does not shows file info, just thumbnails, what's going on? already adjusted in preferences, but still only thumbnails and not the info of the file

Bridge 8.5 does not shows file info, already adjusted in preferences but still just showing thumbnails only.
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks

The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
    - connecting the iPad to your Mac
    - selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
    - selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there  then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.
I assume that music and other items sync ok ?

  • When publishing to PDF, the File Info keywords are not appearing in adobe bridge?

When I generate a PDF from Framemaker 9, the File Info can be seen when I open the PDF and look in Properties. However, if I look for the keywords using Adobe Bridge, they are not recognized. Is there something I have to do to make them visible in Adobe Bridge?
