Blank form from trusted folder/privileged location with enhanced security

When opening an fdf from a command line the form fields are blank even though there is data in the fdf and the pdf is located in a mnaully entered trsuted folder.
Steps to reproduce:
Clean install a Windows 7 PC (or use a virtual box)
Map a network drive to a shared folder with a subfolder e.g. c:\test\docs becomes m:\docs
Set security permissions to allow full control to everyone
Add an fdf and a matching pdf file in the subfolder
Manually add m:\docs to each of the trusted folders in the trust manager registry settings
Ensure that Enhanced Security is on
Run a command line to open the fdf file
Expected result:
pdf is opened in Adobe Reader with form fields filled out with data
Actual results:
pdf is opened with blank fields
'Yellow bar' appears asking to add document to trusted locations
It appars that Adobe Reader XI is ignoring the privileged locations entries in the registry. Adding the document via the 'yellow bar' adds the individual document, with the same folder, to the privileged locations but means that the process has to be repeated for every document that needs to be opened from the folder.
Note that I've submited this as a bug but had no reply.

Based on my research, if you turn off the IE ESC, you can change the Internet Zone in Internet option.
In addition, if you want to disable IE ESC on a single computer, you can do that in the Server manager. However, if you want to disable it on multiple servers, you
need to use a PowerShell script or Group Policy to achieve that.

Thanks for the pointer. I tried lowering all the zone settings to the minimum using gpedit.msc. No luck. This is another one of those annoying (at least to me) Windows Server situations when something that is supposed to work needs some kind of secret incantation
that isn't documented and/or can't be easily found to make it work.

I want to know how to copy a bulk of data forms in a folder X to another folder Y.Both X and Y folder under a common parent folder Z.

If you wanted to just move them then you could of done it in planning.
Otherwise you can try using LCM or the formdef utility to export to xml, update the folder name in the xml then import back in.
Try it with one to see if it works, I doubt it will work if the folder name is the same but under a different parent.

Acrobat 11.0.09 With IE11 - Not Compatible With Enhanced Security

We've packaged Acrobat 11.0.09 for deployment with the Customization Wizard and the install goes fine. We are having issues when try to view linked PDF files in Internet Explorer 11 (Enhanced Security is on) on Win7 64-bit PCs. We are receiving prompts asking us to allow opening of these files. I was under the impression that starting with Acrobat 11.0.07 IE11 Enhanced Security was fully supported? One thing I did notice is while viewing the IE11 add-ons, the "Adobe PDF Reader" add-on shows as 32-bit, any way to load the 64-bit version of this? Thank you.

I believe the EPM compatibility was for Adobe Reader XI and not for Acrobat XI just yet.

Creating PDF's from *.doc or *.docx file with fake security issue's ......

We're trying the new 11 Pro and just patched it to:11.0.09 to try to fix this error below.
When the user tries to create a PDF from the main menu that now says "Create PDF from File" instead of the old screen that said "Create PDF" ......
If I start the process with a *.docx file I get the " can't open the file because of rights " error and it was doing the same thing in the old original installed
version of 11 and also now this the new one I just updated now to try to fix it.
I also deleted the normal.doc templates in both his old MS Word 2003 program and also in the current copy he uses MS Word 2007.
If I start the 11 Pro and pick the same document as the first one except for the fact that it has been re-saved in a *.doc MS Word 2003 format,
the whole thing works perfectly.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried to open WORD and either print to the Adobe PDF printer or use the Acrobat icon (PDF Maker)? Try both. Do they work or not. PDF Maker has to work for the functionality of the create in Acrobat to work.

When I visit Call18866 to subscribe to my account I can, indeed, gain access to the secure areas, but I can see no 'https' nor a padlock when I use Safari as my browser!
I have also used Firefox, Chrome and SeaMonkey browsers to view the site - and they DO show 'https' and a padlock!
I'm wondering if the fault is with me or with the Call18866 wesite!
I should be most grateful if someone would use their Safari browser to check whether or not they can find a 'padlock' or an 'https' link at Call18866.

Fillable forms come back BLANK mainly from Mac Users

I created a fillable form from scratch in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended version 9.3.2, using Adobe Livecycle Designer ES version 8.2.1. I'm on Windows XP. When I first created the form I saved it on the company server, but, I can't remember why, I had to save it on the desktop in order to distribute it (I'm not sure if this detail is important for the issue).
I sent the blank fillable form via email as an attachment to about 50 people (not in my organization) with the filename application_distributed.pdf. Knowing the population that received it, I would say that the majority of them filled it out in Adobe Reader. I asked them to fill it out, save it with a different name, and send it back to me.
Out of the 50 forms I got back, 40 came through fine, while the other 10 came back completely blank. 6 of these 10 people used a Mac computer (some of them said they were using "Preview", a Mac version of Adobe, according to them), a couple of them used a pc, and I wasn't able to find out about the other 2.
I sent the same form twice to a colleague who has both a pc and a Mac at home, and asked her to fill out the first one on her pc, and the 2nd one on her Mac, and to send them back to me in two separate emails. They both came back to me filled out perfectly.
I have been scratching my head trying to figure out what the common denominator is amongst the 10 people whose form came back blank... At the beginning, after I discovered that the first 3 people were Mac users, I thought maybe it was an operating system incompatibility issue, but when I started getting blank forms from pc users, I got more puzzled.
I was on the phone with Adobe Technical Support for a couple of hours on 5/18/2010, and they asked me to submit the form to them so they could look into it since they couldn't solve the problem by phone, but so far, 3 weeks later, I have not heard back from them.
Today I finally decided to go on this forum and ask for help. If anybody has any idea about what the issue might be and how to solve it, I would be eternally grateful.

That should work yes. Not to say that there isn't anything else that will cause this but it's the typical reason why it happens.
It shouldn't cause any conflicts in a Mac. At worst, Reader may want to open PDF's by default but they can easily switch that back by highlighting a PDF, choosing File>Get Info>Open with, choosing Preview and clicking "Change all". When I installed Reader, Mac Preview remained the default Reader until I told it to use Reader.
Mac and Windows users can get the reader at http://get.adobe.com/reader/?promoid=BUIGO. It will detect their OS and give them the correct download.
One thing, if they decide to keep Preview as their default PDF Reader then they will have to actually open Reader and use File>Open to open PDF's in Reader.

Privileged Locations

Why is my transform applying all the correct setting except the one I specified in Privileged Locations?
Here is what I've done...
Loaded AdbeRdr1000_en_US.msi in Adobe Customization Wizard.
Customized several settings... including adding a host in the Privileged Locations list under Security.
Generated a transform, I then applied to my install command.
I do have a wildcard in my host name but I made sure to follow the format bellow... ( tried both *.c.adobe.com and *.b.c.adobe.com format)
3.3.3 Wildcard usage for privileged locations
10.x products support the use of wildcard matching of subdomain components for trusted host URLs. For example, for a basic URL of a.b.c.adobe.com, you can wildcard on all of “a”, “b”, and/or “c.”
Note:It is required that at least the first subdomain is specified (adobe in this case). So *.corp.adobe.com or lcforms.*.adobe.com works, but *forms.corp.adobe.com or lcforms.corp.*.com will not.
When opening Adobe Reader, under Preferences / Security (Enhanced)... my list is blank.
I know my transform applied correctly since other setting like EULA applied just fine.
Did I miss anything? Anyone else can replicate this problem?

Has ANYONE been able to successfully apply either File, Folder, or Host to a transform using Customization Wizard 10? All customization are applied except what is specified in Security (Enhanced) window. What am I missing here... is this app broken?

When we use movement type 945 to transfer some materials from one plant to another plant, the difference of the inventory value (due to the different standard prices in different plant) are charged to a COGS account. This COGS account has been mapped to a value field (Inventory adjustment value field) in PA transfer structure. The business transaction RMWL has been checked for "relevant to legal update" using SM30 - V_TKE_BUS_TRANS" (we are on SAP 7.1 patch level 6).
This MM/FI value flow issue only happen to the stock transfers from this specific storage location with this movement type 945.
I don't see whether or where to specify storage location in PA configuration. The plant has been added to "assign costing keys to any characteristics".
Can you please let me know what the cause might be?

Problem with socket security

Hi,
I'm trying to make socket connection from within air application, but no way. I'm browsing google for almost 2 days, follow all possible solutions, but avidently I dont understund somthing cause I'm not able to do anything.
Every time sandbox security violation..... I need make some simple socket data exchange between my air, and OS. I do not have any web server and no any other kind of network ability. I write down stupid socket server, which is waiting for policy request, and for my other requests (it function 100%, tested with Telnet, so no way to have problem on my socket server side).
The strange thing is that my application do not produce any request for socket policy file, neither at 843 port (for default), neither at my custom location with namual

It pass some time but if i remember well, my problem was that i did
not terminate stream output form my server vs air application, and it
returns this security error.
When I send '\0' at the end of my message it work correctly. Yes the
server was my own written socket server (c++ using boost libraries).

When will Office 2013 Offline File Cache for IE add in work with Enhanced mode?

The Office 2013 Document Cache Uploader IE Plugin is incompatible with IE 11 running in enhanced mode.
I read that enhanced security mode was enabled by default in Win8 so Microsoft can collect information and advise third party plug-in developers they need to update their stuff to work with it. Then in November, Microsoft started shipping Win8 with enhanced
security disabled. But Win8.1 now ships with enhanced mode enabled... But... Microsoft's own plug-in with the latest versions don't work with it. The solution / workaround is to disable enhanced protection mode. (I don't see this
as a solution for me, my last virus infection because of insecure IE cost me over $400 to fix.) When are you going to fix your own stuff? Or will you retire it like a bunch of other goodies ripped out of Win8. And Server 2012. And Exchange
2013........Lastpass.com has their plug-in working with enhanced mode... Why can't you fix it? Should not be that tough to fix and to include it in a Office update....

Hope there will be a fix soon....This should not be marked as 'answer'. You simply state the fact that it is broken as I did and to disable IE Enhanced (warning/warning) and that is not an answer or a workaround..

In this respect, the product is a Lemmon. I already moved to the cloud for Exchange like they wanted me to, by crippling connection with this to my church's Exchange 2003 server.
It seems the master plan behind this release is to disable function with Server2003 to drive more Exchange server or Cloud hosting sales. Please make sure the product does what it did before, before you take my money and turn off the lights on important
feature oversites.
Any way to hack into Office 2010 and load its cache uploader to run in enhanced zone, or put a link or dll in the trusted zone to make this feature work again? Can someone at Microsoft at least get it on the project board or bump it up a hundred spaces
on priority list? Maybe offer a bonus to the programmer that fixes it. A weekend on the hiking trail or kayak excursion, or rock-climbing pass.. Microsoft guys like that outdoors kinds of stuff and will work like crazy to get it.

How to copy a folder from TFS source control to Shared location with Powershell script

I'm looking for a Powershell script where i could copy a folder from TFS Source control to a shared location.
Details:
$TeamProject/FolderA - here i want to move FolderA to a shared location called \\Share
Tried with xcopy: xcopy "$TeamProject/FolderA" "\\Share" ( but no luck, later i found it's only possible to copy files from local to share or share to share location, not from server path to shared location.
Can someone help me with the power-shell script to achieve above scenario.

Running form from Forms Builder with IE

Forms 11.1.1.4, IE 8, Windows 7 64-bit.
1. Running form from Forms Builder with IE results in Page cannot be displayed. My Java console doesn't even appear so it's not getting to the servlet part.
2. Running same form stand-alone in IE works fine. The URLs are identical (I've cut/pasted them)
3. Running same form from Forms Builder with Firefox works fine. The only change I made was to the runtime preference for the browser location.
Seems like this has to be something to do with the browser configuration that only occurs from Forms Builder. What could it be?

I'm not sure about the specifics of your configuration but I suspect the answer is in formsweb.cfg (and the associated .env file).
I think that generally the configuration that runs for formbuilder is the "default" whereas you could be specifying a different
one on the url not going through formbuilder. (but if you're using em then it's really hard to know what's going on since it seems
to not write changes back to the config and env files until it is stopped. This caused me many days of confusion until I figured it out and
that's why I would highly advise never using it to modify .config or env settings.)
check what jre is installed in ie (tools, manage addons, there is on my machine:
java 2 plugin ssv helper and JQSIEStartDetectorImpl browser helper object.
Not sure which one or both is necessary.
Have your url be a trusted site, unblock it from popup blockage, and most of all stare at your formsweb.cfg default section. It would help
if you specified what was in the url. do you have config=X in there?

A few of these images had copies in another folder that remained and the ones I couldn't find may or may not have ever had copies. I had backed up my system with time machine recently as well, so I went into the backup to retreive the lost images. When I searched and found the backup copies I got the error "the file alias cannot be opened because the original cannot be located". The crazy thing is that the images that remained on my computer did not give me the same error and opened like they should.
In short images that I am creating, saving, and using are disapearing so epically that even time machine versions are affected when retrieval is attempted. Any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong without realizing it? Or perhaps other people have had similar bugs that are software related and have a solution?

I understand what you tried to do but it doesn't work that way. Swapping drive names will just mess things up.
You should be able to reconnect the files though: in the Locate Referenced Files dialog make sure you click the Show Reconnect Options button — this will give you access to all the connected drives. Locate one of the files and hit Reconnect All. Should do the trick.
