Blank icons for some programs on dock

A few days ago, one of the programs I run frequently (World of Warcraft) began appearing as a blank icon on the dock. By "blank icon" I mean there is nothing there but an empty space, through which you can see the background image. There is the little lit circle underneath it, of course, to indicate a running program. I do not keep in icon for this game on the dock.
Today, it started happening to some other programs. As with World of Warcraft, this is only happening (so far) to programs I do not keep on the dock when they're not running. It's happening to Firefox, and just recently, it happened for System Preferences. However, it does not happen for all programs that aren't kept on the dock. I tried running two other programs, one that came with OS X (Chess) and one that did not (some game like Windows' Minesweeper), and it didn't happen for either of them.
What should I do to fix this?

Open Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter:
killall Dock
Press RETURN. The "D" in Dock must be capitalized.
See if that helps. You can also try deleting the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist file.

I have my assets from an older site, and want to start a site desktop site in muse. Is there a program ( maybe a book ) that can walk me through this step by step, instead of the Katie's Cafe demo / tutorial?
The problem with the tutorial is in the dark interface I have trouble seeing the small icons for the program functions.
I really need to setup a new site as soon as possible, but am not getting there right now.

Hide disclosure icon for some nodes

Hi,
For some nodes with children, I would like hide the
disclosure icon; for some not.
How can I do that?
I tried disclosure._visible = false in the function
setValue(node, state) of my custom TreeRow Renderer extended from
mx.controls.treeclasses.TreeRow. It did not work though.
For other embedded moviclip in a tree, it seems I can
control, i.e. nodeIcon, cell.

Try doing a Dock restart using the following Terminal command:
killall Dock
Log out/in and test. If that doesn't work.
You need to look in your user Library/Applications Support/Dock for the .db. Hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command. Enter ~/ Library/Applications Support/Dock. Move the .db to your desktop.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.
Then try a dock reset.
Applications/Utilities/Terminal enter the command
killall Dock
Log out/in test. If it works okay, delete the .db from the desktop.
If the Dock is the same, return the .db to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.

Why do I click on an icon for a program on a z10 and have the program immediately crash?

I'm having an issue with some programs from BlackBerry World on my z10. The programs download and install, but when I click on the icon to open the program, it immediately crashes & I go back to the home screen. How can I make these programs run?

No, it's more likely that they are android apps and there is something corrupted in the Android player and/or data.
Before this crashing happened did you see these apps start with a green status bar that never went all the way to completion?

Doing an icon for my program? please help

nowadays I am working on a program
that gets as a parameter your username and password
in gmail , and than you can send email through my program(I implemented the SMTP connection by myself)
anyway , today I finished it.
It works great
but How do I make an icon for it
I mean like , to run my program I need to enter to my code in eclipse and press run
How do I do that I can go directly to my program without entering eclipse and press run?
Do I need to make an applet for my program?

One way to deploy (have it run in a usual desktop environment) your program is to create a jar file.
There is a complete description of the process in Sun's Tutorial in the section on [Packaging Programs in JAR Files|Packaging Programs in JAR Files]. (You can also do this from within Eclipse as described in its documentation. But Sun's tutorial goes to some length to explain what's happening.)

HT2493 I have a jpg file the image of which I wish to use as an icon for a program.

when I use the advised strategy of copying its icon to the icon in the info page of the program, I get a change -- but to the generic icon for jpg files, rather than the actual image of the content of the particular file.

You can convert the jpeg file to an icon file and use that as the image, with this application: img2icns
Drag the jpg onto img2icns window, save it as an icon. Copy and paste this as per the method you mentioned previously.

Set Window & Panel Icons For Terminal Programs in Openbox

Perhaps I have not discovered the correct search terms to google this question & I may be just missing the obvious here. My Wife likes to have openbox with a tint2-vertical setup on her laptop. Is there a non-temporary way to set panel icons (and maybe window icons) for terminal based programs such as ranger, htop, ncmpcpp etc. After seaching I was able to set a icon I made for any terminal in the .xdefaults file. This does not allow the ability to distinguish between various terminal programs from the tint2 panel at a glance.

i noticed in the /usr/share/pixmaps folder there are already xpm/png icons for htop and xterm, however It appears to set the xterm icon in .xdefaults it has to be a xbm file. xbm files are not as visually elegant as xpm imo and so far I was only able to set the same icon it for all open xterms.
so
1. can i set separate panel icons that appear in tint2's panel for different terminal based programs?
2. is it possible to use xpm or even png files for such icons?
I would appreciate any help or a link to a webpage.

Blank page for some user

sharepoint server was move to another place, back up and restore!
now some of pages are blank for some user. they see blank page instead of main page!

Please navigate to these problem pages in SharePoint Designer 2013, check-out the page, then check-in and publish as a major version and approved, then check if these pages could be accessed by some particular users you mentioned.
If issue still persists, please copy the problem page, delete and re-add the webparts into the page, see if it helps.

Search Result is showing Blank Title for some of the doc Files

Hi,
I am doing Search on SharePoint 2010 with the search scope set to one of the document library , But the search result is showing different results for different doc files. I can analyse three type of output from the search result:
1) for some records Title is shown correct.
2) for some files , Title is shown with keyword "Title:<Actual Title>"
3) and in some docs its hsowing Just the keyword "Title:" in place of actual title
I am not able to understand why the result is behaving like this.
Any assistance will be really appreciable .

In Central Administration in the Search Service in Managed Properties look for 'Title'. You will see that Title is populated from a number of properties on a document, some properties are given higher priority then others. That could be a clue.
Also, what type of document are you crawling a PDF, word document, etc? For PDFs you have to install a special iFilter and you need to be aware sometimes the properties on the actual PDF in adobe are used.
I sugest: Try to make sure you give your documents a title in SharePoint and that you rank that property as the #1 property in Central Admin that the Managed property 'Title' uses.

Creating a icon for a program

Basically as the name says, i use a program called READY TO PROGRAM with java 1.7 and i just wanna know how can i make the program with an icon so i just click the icon and it runs???

your application, ready to program creates the .java file when you type in the code
the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) creates the .class file at compile time
the .class file contains bytecode
as Enc said jar stuff is to advanced for your level, so
on your PC somewhere there is a file called java.exe
you run this application (java.exe) from within the command promt
suggest you read up on installing Java, because you will have to set up class paths
when you have done that
in windows environment to access command promt
Start--->Run---> type command and hit enter
if your classpaths are set up properly, you can navigate around directories in the command prompt
and run your class files inside command promt from any directory
I did cheat a little and wrote a small peice of code (batch) that sets up classpaths for
javac.exe
java.exe
junit4.4
that only runs from a shortcut to command prompt on the desktop
I also have some cheat batch files so if in command prompt
jc runs javac.exe
jr runs java.exe
av runs appletviewer.exe

Looking for some kind of Docking Bar...

I am not exactly sure what to call the item I am looking for, I can only describe it. I need some kind of small bar to just keep all my coords and wires plugged in at home at my desk so that when i come home I can just slap the bar on the side of my macbook pro and be done with it.
I know many are going to say to just stop being lazy and plug them in but my roommate has a computer on the same desk and its a pain in the butt fishing for all my wires every time I come home. I also don't have the room nor the money to afford a full docking station.

RAW files show icons for some folders, thumbs for others

I have CS3, on OS 10.5, and use a Nikon D90. I've taken lots of pics in RAW format and all have shown a thumbnail in Bridge. Until the most recent set of pics I saved to my HD....they only show the RAW icon. What is going on with that? How can I make it show thumbs? Thanks

Can't think of such a setting.
Could you specify if you have done some updates recently. There are a lot of
issues with Bridge CS3 and CS4 and CS5 are a lot better and much much more
stable.
However it seems to me that it is ACR related. Could you look at the specs
for this. In Photoshop go to the menu Photoshop/about plug in and choose
Camera Raw. Inhere there should only be one Camera Raw and it should say
version 4.6.
Could you report back on that?
And can you also check if you can see thumbs from Tiff, PSD or Jpeg files?

Safari shows completely blank pages for some websites

Since the latest upgrade to Safari - some pages just appear as completely white screen - www.avios.com for example.
This is not a problem with the sites as then function normally in other browsers I try.

I experienced the same problem yesterday, in addition to Safari being extremely slow to load pages. I was making an online purchase yesterday and the Checkout page kept coming up blank. Finally had to switch to Firefox and will continue to use Firefox until Apple fixes Safari.

Why is Firefox 5 not storing bookmark ICONS for some (many) web sites?

Since installing FF5 some sites do not have their icons stored in the bookmarks, for example:

Even though the site icon displays in the address bar. Seems like a bug. I do have FlashGot, AdBlock & Ghost installed, but I can't see why they would affect this. Many sites still work OK, eg:

You seem to have the general.useragent.override pref set to an empty string.<br />
You can reset that pref to the default via the right-click context menu to remove that override.
