Blank lines on black print output

We are seeing blank lines for the black print head.  We replaced the cartridge and ran 1,2,3 level print head cleaning with no improvement.  Ran diagnostics, but I can't see any differences in that report between the different color cartridges.

Please read this post then provide some details.  What printer model? What operating system? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?

  • Unwanted Blank line appearing in the output

    Hi all,
    we are trying to print the line items of a Order.
    There is no issue in first page. But in second page, after prinitng the first record...a blank line is coming followed by the second record.
    Now, we need to remove this blank line.
    There is a check box at the end of each record and the field which is prior to this check box has got offset. Tried to remove this offset and check...but it didn't work.
    As the first page output is perfectly fine and the issue is with the second page ( output has got 2 pages in total ), I believe
    something has to do with the page break setting.
    Any inputs on this would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Narayan.

    Could be caused by many reasons.
    Is the paragraph format set to skip a line the first time it is printed (SPACE AFTER setting)?
    Is the data causing it to overflow across the line?
    Is there a line feed in the actual SAPscript (like a "/" paragraph format)?

  • Need to avoid printing of blank lines at end of report

    Hello friends at www.oracle.com ,
    after printing, any report is sending some blank lines, moving paper up. It pushes printing of next page to some lines below, causing other reports to begin printing much under the correct position, and it's propagating to other reports I print later.
    How can I print a report and avoid printing those blank lines below?
    Printer that's being used is an Epson LQ-570+.
    Thanks, and best regards,
    Franklin Gongalves Jr.

    Hi Franklin,
    What version of Reports are you running? Also, is this a character mode report?

    Is the issue with all printers or specific ones only?
    What if you use the lp command from the OS to print the concurrent requests output files, do you still get blank pages?
    Do you use PASTA?

  • Inserting blank lines in script output of a single variable

    Dear All,
    I have a requirement where i am printing amounnt in words. It is stored in a variable ITAB-RBETR.
    I want to insert a blank line when the amount field exceeds the line limit and start printing in second line.
    Normally we use '/' command to insert line in between 2 variables in script output. but here it is
    a single variable(ITAB-RBETR).
    Currrently the output is like this -
    Eighty nine crore eighty four lakh twenty
    three thousand seven hundred fifty only
    My requirement is -
    Eighty nine crore eighty four lakh twenty
    (Blank line)
    three thousand seven hundred fifty only

    Hi,
    May be you can use the offset value for displaying the text in the variable ITAB-REBTR.
    Let's say the total allowed length is 50 chars, then use ITAB-REBTR0(50) in the first line and blank line and then ITAB-REBTR51 in the third line.
    I hope this is what you required.
    Regards,
    Santhosh.

  • Printing blank lines in IE 8, 9, 10 and 11 differs

    We have Credit Reports that are put in Iframe (and hidden fields) and when the users checks which ones they want to print, we take the hidden fields an populate one Iframe to print them all from.
    Problem is, IE 8 prints fine, IE 9 removes many of the blank lines that used to be there and IE 10 pretty much removes all blank lines.  IE 11 seems to work ok though.
    While IE 8 is being deprecated, IE 9 & 10 are still our majority users and am I trying to find a solution for them.
    Is there something other than an iframe I should be using?
    Here is the code:
    for(count=0; count <= intCounter; count++)
    vartabChecked = $get(printTab[count]);
    if(tabChecked.checked ==
    true)
    varhdnPrintFieldName =
    "hdnPrintFieldName"+
    count;
    vardoc = document.getElementById(hdnPrintFieldName);
        appendReports = appendReports + doc.value;
    varprintDoc = appendReports;
        parent.iframeprint.document.open();
        parent.iframeprint.document.write(printDoc);
        parent.iframeprint.document.close();
        parent.iframeprint.focus();
        parent.iframeprint.print();
    The report even looks different in the presented iframe (tabbed) in the various IE versions, though sometimes not exactly the same as the printed version in the same IE.

    Hi,
    IE8 doesn't understand textNodes that are white space. the firstChild property is affected by any white space preceeding the Node.
    use
    &nbsp;<br/>
    instead of
    the above is a blank line.. (white space).
    ensure that your external stylesheet links have a media attribute. Normally one would use a print only stylesheet (media='print') to show/hide visual elements when printing.
    eg.
    @media='print'{
    #divCopyright{
    display:block;visibility:visible;}
    @media='screen'{
    #divCopyright{
    display:none;visibility:hidden;}

  • Officejet Pro L7590 - Printer intermittently skips printing complete lines of black ink.

    My Officejet Pro keeps intermittently skipping lines of black ink when I copy or print a document. There appears to be no pattern as to where on a page the line skips printing.  When I initially replaced my B/Y printhead, the problem appeared to have stopped and the pages appeared to be printing OK. But after a day or so, when I would print or copy another document, the problem reappears.  I have also replaced the black ink cartridge (twice), the problem still exists.
    I love this printer because, when it's working, it prints and copies documents with excellent speed and clarity.  I don't want to spend another $200+ dollars for a replacement HP printer or an inordinate amount for repair of the existing printer.  Any suggestions??
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    THANKS VERY MUCH. Your suggestion seems to be working.
    I was hesitant about replying too soon because I wanted to be sure the problem has been corrected this time.
    Initially, I replaced the black ink cartridge (for a second time), but this didn't correct the problem.  Next, I replaced the black (B/Y) printhead (for the second time).  Now the printer is working just fine.
    May be the first replacement printhead was defective, since the second replacement printhead seems to have solved the problem.  Fortunately, I was able to get a refund (replacement) for the first printhead.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Spool output conatins unwanted blank line

    Hi all,
    I've just written a new program that outputs a report to the spool when run in batch mode. The report looks great aside from an unwanted blank line that appears in the middle of the report when I view the spool...if I run the program from the command line and set the sy-batch variable to write the spool contents to the screen I see no blank line. how do I get rid of the blank line?  Thanks in advacne for any assitance provided.
    Mat

    Hi Mat,
    The blank line you see on the spool (as distinct from the screen) is probably a page break.  The spool will always apply a page format and split the list according to the length of the page.
    I guess you can get round this by creating a page format with the maximum number of lines (99999 lines).
    Regards,
    Nick

  • Office 2010 Don't print blank lines when data fields are empty

    How do you do this in office 2010?  Where do we go now?
    This used to be under the Tools menu in previous versions:
    On the Tools menu, click Mail Merge.
    In the Mail Merge Helper dialog box, click Merge.
    NOTE: You must select the main document and data source for the merge before doing step 2.
    In the Merge dialog box, under When Merging Records, click either:
    Don't print blank lines when data fields are empty.
    -or-
    Print blank lines when data fields are empty.
    Click Close in the Merge dialog box, and then click
    Close in the Mail Merge Helper.
    NOTE: If you made no changes in the Merge dialog box, the
    Close button is not available. Click Cancel instead.

  • Undefined black line vertically on printed page

    A narrow undefined line appears about two inches from the left edge of a page (and not totally consistent in how dark it is.  Very faint if no print on the page.   The more text the more noticable it appears.
    Additionally -- if there is heavy toner in that area it appears to remove the toner leaving a white but dirty narrow line.   But if it's just regular printed text it does *not* score thru a letter, it just appears as this dirty line in the background.
    It's not the cartridge.     Can't see anything inside the printer that looks likely.

    Hello sam_k, welcome to the forums
    I understand you are noticing a black line. Please let me know some more information and I will certainly look into this for you!
    1. Which Operating System you are running:
    Which Windows Operating System am I running?
    Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
    2. What is your printers Model Number:
    How Do I Find My Model Number?
    3. Do you noticed the black line when you print, scan, copy, or fax?
    4. How is your printer connected to your PC? Ethernet, wireless or USB?
    In the meantime, try Resetting the Printer and plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

    text2    25.0  11.0  30.0
    text3    27.0  19.0  30.0
    text1    24.0  18.0  30.0
    text2    27.0  16.0  30.0
    text3    29.0  15.0  30.0
    text1    23.0  17.0  30.0
    text2    22.0  13.0  30.0
    text3    21.0  14.0  30.0
    and so on...
    My requirement is to create blank line after text3. Since its currency field even i claer work area iam able to get 0.0.
    If i use no-zero in field catalog i will be able to get blank values for all 0.0, but thats not required.
    Can u help me out how to crate blank line after one set of values(text1, text2, text3) in alv display
    Thanks

    Hi,
    If i use no-zero, then all 0.0 will be replaced by blank, but that is not required.
    I want only blank line to be displayed after set of line items.
    Skip doesn't help in alv. Secondly if i append blank work area i will be getting 0.0 as it is a currency field.

  • Printing blank lines using plsql

    I am trying to print a blank line using plsql can anyone help me on this
    eg
    Employee Report
    (a blank line here)
    I am not able to print a blank line where I have written (a blank line).
    Chiranjib

    dbms_output is trimming blanks, therefore you need to use some other non-visible character, e.g.
    SQL> begin
      2  dbms_output.put_line('Employee Report');
      3  dbms_output.put_line('***************************');
      4  dbms_output.put_line(chr(255));
      5  dbms_output.put_line('*****************************');
      6  end;
      7  /
    Employee Report
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
