BLANK MAIL MESSAGES USING OUTLOOK

Hi - I apologise for throwing this one in again - but I need to get an answer and haven't been able to find anything yet.
I am using a MacBook Pro with OS x Ver 10.6.8.  For mail within our company we use MS Outlook.  verything was fine up until a few weks ago.  Messages appeared at Yahoo, came through on the Blackberry and came onto the MacBook in Outlook - all was well.
Something then happened - messages still appear in Yahoo and on trhe Blavkberry - the mesage appears in Outlook but when th emessage is opened there is no text within it!!  The message sender details and the subject are all there - but no text below it.  If I send a message or reply to (a blank message) my response text appears OK.
Anyone got any ideas please?
Tony Duckowrth

Am afraid that none of that helped.  Have tried to get updates for software - but if and when you try you get a response that say's no updates available - what can you do?
This went on for about three months, tried many forums and groups, tried Apple direct with no response at all.  Tried Microsoft to see if a problem with Outlook - a good forum but no solution.  No response at all from anyone at Yahoo.
The only thing I could do was to create a completely new profile on the Mac, recreate the mail profile in the new profile and all the mail at Yahoo came through fine.  Then had to copy across all the files etc - from the old profile to the new.  A complete bore.
You would think that the likes of Apple and Microsoft - who must know that these 'help forums' exist - might monotor what s going on and maybe tried to fix some of these things that just happen - for no good reason.

  • I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011

    Good morning,
I need help exporting Apple Mail messages to Outlook for MAC 2011. Please....

It is possible to do this without external tools, but it is a tremendous faff. See
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac/forum/macoffice2011-macoutlook/import-ema il-from-mail-to-outlook-2011/5e858173-e1f4-4adc-99d7-253cc467169d?page=2 for details.
The easiest way, however, is to use Mail Exporter Pro https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mail-exporter-pro/id675131616?mt=12 which will convert the email for you from one format to the other, and comes with an excellent manual.
A third possibility is to connect Apple Mail to an email account via IMAP (this doesn’t have to be your usual account, you can just create a Gmail account for the purpose) . Copy all the messages into it and they will be uploaded. Then connect Outlook 2011 to the same account, via IMAP again, and let the messages download, then copy them to wherever you want to keep them and disconnect from that account. This is slow but preserves the attributes of your email (e.g. read/unead) better than any other method.

When inserting pictures in a new mail message using the " photo browser" button I can view and select photos but the " choose "  button is gone. What have I done wrong?

    Hi Liz,
Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem.  Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File",  then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups  opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine.  I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked  "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1).  I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu,  when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto,  that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz,  if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above.   Otherwise,   good luck with your investigations.   I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

  • In Mail 7.3 on my Retina MacBook Pro on OS 10.9.4, how can I type from the keyboard into a mail message using the Apple Symbols font?

In Mail 7.3 on my Retina MacBook Pro on OS 10.9.4, how can I type from the keyboard into a mail message using the Apple Symbols font?
When I select the Apple Symbols font from the list accessed from under Format/"Show fonts"/collection-all fonts/Apple Symbol, and then continue typing, I get normal letters, if in a slightly different font.
How can I type using the Apple Symbol font?  I want to use that font to include keyboard and cursor selections of actual screen symbols to help write easily understood explicit computer lesson emails to my 92 year-old mom from a few hundred miles away.

  • Mail messages disappear - just a blank mail message for all emails

Mail messages disappear - just a blank mail message for all emails.
This happens sporadically since I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.2.
It happens on all of my machines (Macbook Air, + iMacs) so it must be a software bug.
Is there an update coming through for Mail?

Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox.

  • E-mail messages using the BB software

Since today, when I read my e-mail messages using the BB software - an icon that has an envelope with a globe - it can not find the options to mark with a star or reporting as spam. These options do not exist in the container that has only one envelope, where I find the emails from all accounts. But now there is not even on the container for each email account. Can someone help me? Thanks

It sounds like new service books were pushed to you by your service provider.
Look for the other email folders:
    1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
    2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?
To push service books to your device, on your BlackBerry device, go to:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
    From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.
    From your desktop PC:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list
    3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...

  • Sync error message about mail client - using Outlook Express, wants Outlook

I keep getting a message that "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"
Outlook Express IS set as my default mail client, both on my computer and on the iTunes screen.
I use Calendar on the iPhone, but do not have sync requested on iTunes for this function.
I do have Outlook on my computer, but do not use it (don't need calendar function at home, but do like to have it on my iPhone since I carry it with me)

I'm having a similar problem. "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client." (iTunes 7.6.1.9)
I sync my contacts with Yahoo! (not Outlook).
I was syncing my calendar with Outlook. This was working just fine, but when I started to get the error above, I have tried turning off the calendar sync. No help there.
I am not syncing any email accounts via iTunes.
Anyone have any suggestions? Given that I'm not syncing with Outlook I don't understand the error. Thunderbird is my default mail client and I shouldn't have to change the system defaults to work around this bug.

  • I cannot answer e-mail messages using goole my address is re.morris@spray.se I just get a empty pages up??

  • Composing mail message using HTML?

    Hello,
I have been using Microsoft Outlook for all of my mail activities (and Microsoft Entourage prior to Outlook) for several years now. Because of MobileMe and the coming "iCloud" service, I would like to switch over to Apple's "Mail" program. I think I have it all set up correctly, however, I am having a difficult time figuring out how to send email using HTML. I have located the preferences where you can choose either "plain text" or "rich text", but rich text does not seem to be HTML because I sent a rich text message to myself, and I viewed it in Outlook where it was simply plain text.
What am I missing? If HTML is in there, it's really well hidden---I just can't seem to find it. Any suggestions?
    Thank you very much.

Whoa.....that is VERY interesting! I definitely prefer sending out HTML emails because I feel that they look more professional, and the plain text emails look kinda "blah". The reason I find this so interesting is because Apple is so ahead of the curve in so many areas, and this seems way behind the times. They must have a reason for doing this, although offhand I can't come up with one.
Because if you are trying to exchange e-mails with people who have really poor e-mail clients, they won't be able to see anything. E-mail is pretty much a lowest-common denominator. Apple has been steadily dumbing down Apple Mail over the years to make it more compatible with Outlook. There is an e-mail standard for "rich text" messages. Apple was the only company that ever supported it as far as I know. Netscape and Microsoft both came up with HTML e-mail on their own and that became the de-facto standard.
Thank you for the tip of creating a signature with styled text. I've never used a signature before, so I suppose I'll have to start doing that. Yikes.
There are a number of tutorial sites for making really fancy signatures. I've never really used any of them, but if you want to play around, search for "apple mail fancy signature". I normally avoid saying "go Goggle for it", but in this case, there are a number of examples and they are significantly different. You have to find one that makes the most sense to you.
Keep in mind that standard e-mail complexities always apply. You have no guarantee about how your fancy e-mail or signature will be displayed. It may look great in Apple Mail and it could be awful or non-existent in some other client or some webmail tool.
    E-mail is just a mess.

  • Blank Mail Messages Problem

I upgraded to lion on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro a few weeks ago. Now, in Mail, some of the messages show up blank when I open them. The middle column shows the sender and date and all, but when I open the message the reading pane is blank. Solutions?Mail

    Hello Partners in Pain,
I fixed this by renaming the mailboxes containing the empty emails. I didn't even have to restart Mail.
After installing Mavericks and 10.9.1 update a week ago, Mail was working fine. Today, however, out of the blue, the email content disappeared from some of my mailboxes inside Mail app -- they were "On My Mac", and had come from a mix of POP and IMAP accounts.
I was planning to import my back-up mailboxes. To avoid conflicts, I renamed the mailboxes in the Mail app itself. For instance, I just double-clicked mailbox "Clients" and renamed it to "Clients1". After that, all email content was back in the (now renamed) mailbox -- no need to import anything.
All's well now (knock on wood) and I'm not curious at all to see what happens if I rename them back.
    Best of luck,
    Monkha

  • Blank Mail Messages

All of my messages that are in my inbox on only one account (my exchange account) have gone blank suddenly. The inbox still shows there is a message but when clicking on it absolutely nothing appears in the preview. When I double click the message to enlarge it nothing happens. I have rebuilt the mailbox, I have deleted and re-added the mailbox. I have restarted the computer. Nothing seems to fix this. Please help!
