Blank mail

I have a gmail account . Why would my mail be showing up blank in my iPad mail app?

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Mail messages disappear - just a blank mail message for all emails.
This happens sporadically since I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.2.
It happens on all of my machines (Macbook Air, + iMacs) so it must be a software bug.
Is there an update coming through for Mail?

Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox.

  • Blank Mail Pane

    Hi,
I have a completely blank mail pane. All the account setting are correct and it downloads the messages, the messages are just not appearing. I thought it might be because my fonts became a bit problematic. But messages appear in my iCould account on the same iMac.
I've tried deleteing prefernce lists ect, but the same issue......
I can tell you that it happened after switching email packages on my server - but mac mail is not telling me I have any connection issues, everything appears to be set up correctly.
    Anyone have any ideas...?
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

I have a very similar problem as well.
So far the pattern is that the inbox and preview pane go blank in about a minute on only Exchange accounts.  iCloud and Gmail accounts don't seem to be affected.  To temporarily fix, I just click on another account then back again to the Exchange account.  It will show the emails for another minute or so until it blanks out again.
    My Hardware:
I have upgraded to 10.10.1 and still have the blanking problem.
    Please help Apple!

Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup

  • Iphone 4: updated to IOS 6.2.  Blank Mail screen, and stuck at 21 emails.  Can't access anything.  Cannot Sync with iTunes either.  It cycles and never gets beyond step 2, then recycles

I have an iphone running OS6.01. After updating, March 3 was my last sync.  iTunes recognizes the phone, but the progress bar sits on eithe step 1 or 2 of 7 steps. Then it starts over.  The device icon on the left shows syncing taking place, as does the phone.
Have rebooted the MBpro and the phone several times.  Have held down the top and home buttons until the apple appears, to no avail.
Also starting March 3rd my iPhone has been struggling;  My Mail is stuck at 21, and all I get is a blank screen when I click on the app. I have now other apps that won't open at all now...and when I go into settings to click on mail, I get a blue hightlighted box that stalls and goes nowhere.
    Thoughts...solutions are welcome

    Apple - Fix this!!!!!!
Apple, THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO LOOK on iOS 6 regarding "WIFI Lockout"!!!!!!
When this happens (WIFI freezes up aka "WIFI Lockout") – you can not get on internet while using WIFI!!!!!
You could be in the middle of surfing or using any app that makes data calls based on DNS and suddenly you can go no where or do nothing!
Yea sure, you can restart the WIFI connection, but WHO wants to CONTINUALLY do that?????
Apple (or any curious iOS 6 user that wants to see my point), when this happens open up a browser before you reset, disconnect/reconnect WIFI ( I tried both safari and chrome ) and type type 74.125.227.144 (google) and then “go”. A google search page will come up and you will be able to execute a search. (of course any link you click on will not work as it is dependant on DNS resolution)
Non DNS traffic works so the issue is not the WIFI connection to the access point!
APPLE, FOCUS ON FIXING THIS DNS DATA ISSUE AND YOU WILL GET MANY PEOPLE OFF YOU BACK!!!!
I KNOW THIS IS NOT ALL OF THE PROBLEMS WITH iOS 6, BUT THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM NOT BEING ABLE TO SURF OR GET DATA THE iOS 6 DEVICE IS REQUESTING!!!!!

  • Major Mail Crash with iOS 6 and iPad 2... now a blank Mail screen

I just had a major Mail app crash with iOS 6 on my iPad 2.
I was composing an email with pictures in it and when I got to the point of pasting the forth picture into the email, the Apple Mail app started to get very sluggish and crashed.  Now, every time I open the Mail app, the screen is white (i.e. - without any text on it) and then Mail crashes after about 10-15 seconds.  (BTW - It seemed like the sluggishness got worse as I pasted the last two pictures in.... and the pictures were large sized (at about 750kB each).... so they weren't overly big in size.)
Closing the app, shutting down my iPad 2 and hard resetting my iPad (by holding down both the Home and Power buttons) have no effect on the problem.
This is a very bad situation since I'm traveling for business and was using the iPad for keeping up with email.  Now, I get nothing put a blank screen whenever I try to open the mail app.
Does anyone know of a way to get the Mail app back?
    Thanks.

Facing the same problem on iPad (3rd generation, wifi)
I'm using Gmail and every time I open it, it crash a lot (white screen or scroll down very, very slowly),also can't open or send anymore :(
Facebook is nice but it also crash (even I delete and reinstall several time, it still crash like slow respond or even no respond at all)
The most upset is touch seem crash sometime :( (need to touch two or three times)
Help!!! I don't wanna make myself look down on iOS after this upgrade! I do love the former 5.1.1 (smooth touch and easy mail)

  • Blank Mail Messages Problem

I upgraded to lion on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro a few weeks ago. Now, in Mail, some of the messages show up blank when I open them. The middle column shows the sender and date and all, but when I open the message the reading pane is blank. Solutions?Mail

    Hello Partners in Pain,
I fixed this by renaming the mailboxes containing the empty emails. I didn't even have to restart Mail.
After installing Mavericks and 10.9.1 update a week ago, Mail was working fine. Today, however, out of the blue, the email content disappeared from some of my mailboxes inside Mail app -- they were "On My Mac", and had come from a mix of POP and IMAP accounts.
I was planning to import my back-up mailboxes. To avoid conflicts, I renamed the mailboxes in the Mail app itself. For instance, I just double-clicked mailbox "Clients" and renamed it to "Clients1". After that, all email content was back in the (now renamed) mailbox -- no need to import anything.
All's well now (knock on wood) and I'm not curious at all to see what happens if I rename them back.
    Best of luck,
    Monkha

  • Blank Mail Messages

All of my messages that are in my inbox on only one account (my exchange account) have gone blank suddenly. The inbox still shows there is a message but when clicking on it absolutely nothing appears in the preview. When I double click the message to enlarge it nothing happens. I have rebuilt the mailbox, I have deleted and re-added the mailbox. I have restarted the computer. Nothing seems to fix this. Please help!

  • BLANK MAIL MESSAGES USING OUTLOOK

Hi - I apologise for throwing this one in again - but I need to get an answer and haven't been able to find anything yet.
I am using a MacBook Pro with OS x Ver 10.6.8.  For mail within our company we use MS Outlook.  verything was fine up until a few weks ago.  Messages appeared at Yahoo, came through on the Blackberry and came onto the MacBook in Outlook - all was well.
Something then happened - messages still appear in Yahoo and on trhe Blavkberry - the mesage appears in Outlook but when th emessage is opened there is no text within it!!  The message sender details and the subject are all there - but no text below it.  If I send a message or reply to (a blank message) my response text appears OK.
    Anyone got any ideas please?
    Tony Duckowrth

Am afraid that none of that helped.  Have tried to get updates for software - but if and when you try you get a response that say's no updates available - what can you do?
This went on for about three months, tried many forums and groups, tried Apple direct with no response at all.  Tried Microsoft to see if a problem with Outlook - a good forum but no solution.  No response at all from anyone at Yahoo.
The only thing I could do was to create a completely new profile on the Mac, recreate the mail profile in the new profile and all the mail at Yahoo came through fine.  Then had to copy across all the files etc - from the old profile to the new.  A complete bore.
You would think that the likes of Apple and Microsoft - who must know that these 'help forums' exist - might monotor what s going on and maybe tried to fix some of these things that just happen - for no good reason.

  • Blank mail files that won't erase

Mail definitely seems to be behaving oddly. I've got a couple of files in my Inbox and two more in Drafts that Will Not Delete. They are blank, nothing in them that Mail will display, but they are persistent ghosts. Try to delete them, and their names will go grey only until you exit and return, at which point they're back. Any ideas?
I went through quite a bit of stuff with offline smtp servers and such, which required deleting and then restoring e-mail accounts -- that probably contributed to the problem, but is there any way to get rid of the ghosts?

    I have same problem.
Command L seemed to clear it...
    but they returned.
    When they returned...
    they are in my Inbox...
    not greyed out and...
    when you click on them...
    the text area is blank.
I really want to know how to get rid of these
because over time this could become quite a serious problem.
    Suggestions?

  • Blank Mail Logs - Postfix - PHP

I need a really simple solution but all the instructions I've found so far involve setting up extra stuff I don't need. So I'm hoping someone can give me a quick bit of info.
Basically I have a site that sends email notifications at times (using PHP mail() function).
I have Postfix installed which I assume is handling the sending of these emails.
But no logs are being made. All the /var/log/mail.log files are completely blank 0Kb files.
I need them to log each email sent out by the server with a time. I enabled the php mail() logging function in php.ini but that doesn't include timestamping. So I need the fuller logs Postfix can do.
But the instructions I've found all want to set up full blown email servers. I just want some timestamped logging.
    Can anyone help me out?

In fact most of my log files seem to be empty. Any idea why??

  • Blank Mail Inbox

Recently upgraded my Power Mac G5 to Leopard... Installation went fine, but now I have a blank inbox in mail. I compared the settings to those on my Mac Book Pro - all are the same, but I can't get mail...

    Hello,
Might be a permissions issue. Repair Disk Permissions:
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select FirstAid, then click: Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

  • Gmail problems after iOS 7.1.2 update (blank mails)

Since updating my iPad Air to iOS 7.1.2 this week, I notice that my emails are retrieved as blank light gray mails. No subject, no contents, date always 01-01-01, etc...
I already removed my gmail account from the iPad and installed it again, but without any effect. The first time I retrieve my email after reinstalling works fine, but the second time, etc.. It's the same story...empty mails. The same thing happens when I re enter my password for the gmail account in the settings menu from the IPad. The first time it works ok, but then the story repeats...
When using the Gmail app everything's seems to work fine!
I suppose its a firmware bug?
    regards,
    René

I'm having a related problem. Since shortly after updating my phone to ios 7.1.2, gmail is not working properly. Seems emails are bypassing the actual inbox(es) and going straight to the All Mail folder (which is for archives). I do not have any filters set up in gmail or any forwarding and had not changed any of my settings in gmail. This is happening on phone, laptop and ipad.
I read a forum where someone was having this issue and changed their archive mail settings on the phone to archive only on the phone, not the server. That apparently worked for them, but I tried this and it hasn't seemed to make a difference.
I have about 6 emails feeding into gmail so I NEED them separated. Fishing through All Mail trying to find things I need or am expecting is not ideal. If anyone has suggestions, please feel free to pass along.
    Thanks!

  • Phone continually sends blank mails... please make it stop!!

I have resorted to building and rebuilding my mail accounts, but randomly (about once a month), the phone decides to start sending anywhere between 3 and 500 (!!) blank emails to what seems to be no one. If i look in the sent folder, it only reads a date (12/31/00). No recipient. But i cannot get the phone to stop cycling every minute or so... sending and sending and sending.

How many email accounts are you accessing with the iPhone's Mail client and are you saying the same occurs with each account, or with a specific account?
I venture to say you are accessing a Yahoo account with the iPhone's Mail client and this problem occurs with your Yahoo account. I've only seen this reported by those with a Yahoo account with their Yahoo account only.

  • Completely blank Mail

HI, i hope one of you can help my issue. Whenever i launch Mail it says my inbox has 0 messages and nothing loads, just a white blank inbox and i can't switch to any other folders. I gave it a couple days because i thought maybe my gmail server was down temporarily, but i checked earlier today on gmail and i read 3 messages i never received in Mail because of the weird problem. Also, virtually instantly the beachball just starts spinning forever and i am left with no option but force quitting.

It's possible that your Mail preferences have become corrupt. You can test for and resolve it by doing this:
    1. Quit Mail if it's running.
    2. Go to HD/Applications/Utilities and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
    3. Go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.mail.plist file.
    4. Restart Mail, setup your account(s) again and wait for Mail to find your existing mailboxes; then check to see if the problem persists.
