Blank maps (me too)

Hi,
my maps don't work in iphoto 09.
I have tried all basics (replacing plist, turning firewall off, waiting for a long time, restarting, repaired permissions, etc.) but if I turn information on I don't see a map.
I also cannot enter new places (it shows only a whit field with half a pin in the low left corner).
If I change the user, though, it works!
(Google Earth works fine on that user.)
How can that be?

OK, so if Google Maps work in a browser and the iPhoto maps appear in another account, the implication for me is that there is something blocking the maps specific to iPhoto in that specific account.
If you did have Little Snitch installed, that is a prime candidate -- not sending the right signals out, so nothing comes back?
Make sure you have deleted all parts of it including preference files and Application Helpers. I have a Little Snitch Configuration app in my Applications folder and there are other parts of it elsewhere.
DNS numbers should be in the Network Preferences panel under Advanced > DNS mine works fine with the router as top number (10.0.0.2 and this is probably different for your setup), with two other DNS numbers, one of which is from my local ISP. If you have these numbers entered, then the Port may be blocked (check in Firewall preferences and make sure that iPhoto is listed and shows "allow all incoming connections" (I bet it does as the other account is OK), but it is worth confirming.

MapViewer blank map issue

This is for MapViewer Java API, using tile cache - and it's a hard to reproduce problem
In our application sometimes the map will return blank with no layers. In the logs I'll see that the layers got queried and styles got applied and no apparent errors, but the returned image is blank with only the background color applied.
When this happens just panning around /refreshing will cause the map to be rendered correctly, with minimal wait, as if the cached image was already there created from the previous map request.
Has anyone seen this before ?
Is there something I should be looking for in the logs that could shed some light on the cause of the problem ?

Secondly for ur blank map issue I recommend to check the "Java Heap Size" settings, i.e. how much memory is assigned to your Mapviewer Java Application.

MapViewer Demo Returns Blank Maps

I am installing the MapViewer for the first time. I imported mvdemo.dmp after creating the mvdemo user with:
SQL> grant connect, resource to mvdemo identified by mvdemo;
Then import from command line with:
imp mvdemo/mvdemo file=mvdemo.dmp full=y ignore=y
no errors
Then executing sql as mvdemo with :
SQL> @mvdemo.sql
The mapviewer runs the demo and connect to the db as it should. There are base maps, themes, styles etc viewable from the submits.
The image returned however is just a blue tile.
Any ideas where I missed a step?

Maps always too late

Hi! i bought recently a N97 and I have a problem with the navigation GPS:
When I drive the indications on map and vocal announcements are absolutely correct, without they are always late from 20 to 100 metres with regard to the reality!
For example when I approach a traffic circle, I am before warned well, but the GPS tells me to take the exit while I have already left the traffic circle since 20 or 100 meters. And it is the same thing to turn to the right or to the left in a crossroads.
Anybody can help me to resolve this problem ?

Interesting this, when I tested my maps, the 1st time I used it, I had the same problem (passing side roads when the map shows I yet to pass!). I just assume it was because I was offline it is slower and less accurate than online/A-GPS (as mentioned in the phone manual as a disclaimer) - but after that it seems to work fine......
When the problem appear, it was on a VERY clear morning, black sky (yes I go to work VERY early) and no traffic - so can't see any problem with any GPS delay.....I have latest 0.1.25.114 maps on v3.04 maps application.

Blank vertical spacing too large

In the process of creating a website and unable to shorten

Your h2 has a bottom margin of 20 px, your ul has a top
margin of 16px. Set
the ul top margin to 0 and then reduce the h2 bottom margin
as needed.

Apple Maps App problem - maps problem - why do they go blank

On OS X Yosemite version 10.10.3
I have a blank map, and this problem occurred on the last version of OS as well.
After I restarted my computer, the app started working but went blank again.
When the map is blank, I can't report the problem. It says no internet but my other apps that require an internet connection are still working. I've attached a picture of what pops up below. Please let me know what needs to be done to fix this issue.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the menu bar, select
           ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Date & Time ▹ Time Zone
Check the box marked
          Set time zone automatically using current location
if it's not already checked. If the box is checked, uncheck it and then check it again. Test.
If the correct location and time zone aren't shown in the preference pane, then either Wi-Fi is turned off, or you're not within range of a network in the Location Services database. Under those conditions, the computer can't determine your location.

Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select
         Services ▹ Reveal in Finder
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.Maps" selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the folder to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Relaunch the application and test. If there's no change, quit again and put the item you moved back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Otherwise, delete the folder you moved. The list of recent places displayed in Maps will be lost.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Map lost in map module - just wite blank window. How to fix it?

Happened few weeks ago, before worked well. Neither search works. No warning/error messages. Just blank map window. Any idea how to fix it?
Using version 4.0.

My maps app has suddenly gone BLANK, no longer displays anything but a creamy brown background and a blue dot, I've see other issues on other devices also, but not a single response from apple explaining how to resolve it. Anyone else?

Before I left for Thailand, I didn't have a single problem with my maps app, however on return, I've found that it no longer displays anything in the main map screen, hybrid and sattelite still show something (but aren't accurate), but in maps itself, all there is is a blank screen. This not only affects maps, but all my other programs that are obviously linked somehow to apple maps are now doing the same thing... Nike Running, iSmoothRun, Argus, all now show my route, but it's overlaid over a BLANK map area.
Anyone see this? and know how to fix it?

I've done soft and hard resets, power off resets, I've deleted the three apps that are associated with maps and reinstalled them, the only thing I haven't done is a full restore, which from other peoples experiences I've see hasn't fixed the issue. So, I've avoided that because I don't want the 7.0.5 update (my 5S is a China coded model)

Lightroom 4 Map Module Is Blank

I upgraded from LR3 to LR4 yesterday and was excited to dive into the Map module. Unfortunately, the map seems to be blank. I have selected an image with GPS information. The Map module correctly looks up the location of the photo (Magdalena, New Mexico). This seems like a rendering bug.
Update 1
Just to check, I installed LR4 onto another OS X 10.6.8 machine that had not previously had Lightroom and imported the same picture. The Map module worked correctly. So, I tried re-installing LR4 on the original machine. Unfortunately, it still does not work. I tried creating a new catalog and backing up and then deleting all preferences. The map is still blank...
I am open to suggestions so long as they don't involve re-installing the OS, as I just did a fresh install yesterday on this machine and therefore highly doubt that will accomplish anything other than wasting my time.
I am open to all sorts of alternatives, including but not limited to:
Running dtrace to look at library calls
attaching XCode to debug (though I would assume all the objects have been stripped), or
Starting up a WebDialogs/WebEx/VNC/TeamViewer/etc server for a dev to pry around on it or debug with XCode. Of course a debuggable build would greatly help with this.
Update 2
More defect info.
I created a new user on the system that is failing, started LR4, created a new catalog, imported the test photo, changed to Map module--still blank. Something on this particular system is causing the rendering failure.
So I figured what the heck, just to make sure, why don't I copy over the LR4 app from the system that is working. Still a blank map...
My next thought was that perhaps it was an issue with the non-accelerated graphics. So I disabled the graphics switching. Still a blank map...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

As a programmer who develops software for all UNIX flavors, Mac OS X, and Windows, I find this not working on a case-sensitive filesytem behaviour to be rather ridiculous. I would be ashamed if my tools didn't work correctly because of something like this. Someone folks should be very embarassed, as from some searches I ran it seems like this issue has been around for a long time and with other Adobe products. So, apparently I now get to revert my Mac back to a Windows-esque case-insenstive filesystem. What a way to spend a Friday.

Lightroom 5.2 map module not displaying maps

I am having all sorts of problems with Lightroom 5.2 and wish I'd just stayed with Lightroom 4. I've already posted about not being able to import directly from an SD card in my laptops reader, and have at least found a work around to that (copy files to hard drive them import - I see others have found the same thing and it works just fine).
Now I have realised that the map screen in the map module is blank. I had this problem initially with Lightroom 5, and then it seemed to resolve itself. It is refusing to resolve itself in Lightroom 5.2 however. I've searched on the web for similar problems, and have found some responses to blank map screens in Lightroom 4, but they are so technical I haven't got a clue where to start trying to follow them.
So, I am a simple soul who needs a simple answer. I am using LR 5.2 on an HP laptop running Windows 7. In the map module, where I already have GPS data (from a Canon EOS 6D) it is displayed in the metadata, and the little pop up box shows the number of photos at selected locations etc. But the central map screen is black. If I search, the screen stays black although it appears as though it has gone to the location. The Navigator screen is blank too. And yes, I am connected to the internet and LR5.2 seems to be able to find the internet (I checked by going into the web module).
Can anyone help me please. I like to put GPS locations on my photos prior to upload to Flickr, and whereas they are there from photos from my 6D, they don't exist for photos taken on my Canon Powershot.

A work-around that I am using is to run Lightroom as an administrator on my Windows 7 system (right-click on the icon and choose run as administrator). Everything then works ok. I also needed to run as an administrator to be able to update some plug-ins I was using. I fixed the plug-in update issues by changing the permissions on plug-ins folder. I suspect that it is a similar issue with the maps.
I have not figured out what folder or files need to have the permissions altered to stop Lightroom from working in the unelevated state but if someone reading this knows please share. I saw some posts related to the same issue but on Macs but the Windows configuration is different.

Map data doesn't appear in maps

When I open the maps app, all I get is a blank yellow background..
Everything else seems to be working (ie. Traffic data, directions). All of which aren't very useful without the actual roads!
If I zoom out far enough, I see faint outlines of countries...
This problem extends to other apps that use map data too. In this example, Nike+ running
I've tried killing and restarting the app, rebooting my phone and resetting all my settings but nothing has helped.
Anyone had a similar problem or got any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

No issues with the current location (blue dot) and pins. No roads, no maps.
I had the problem as described by iammrwong. Unfortunately, my problem persist even after I restore from backup.
Does anyone got other solutions?

I only get a blank page when trying to print a web page

I have looked up how to print a web page and did exactly as shown on the screen (I did select my printer) but when I want to print a Web page I only get a blank page. I also cannot save as PDF in the Print Dialog Box because I get a blank page there too.
I have tried to disable all my add-ons and extensions and re-enabling them one by one and it did not change anything.
Although I did not specifically notice the exact date, I feel this has been happening since I have upgraded to Mac OS 10.6.4

Wow! After several different attempts to solve my printing problems , the one that worked was the suggestion that I hit "Reset Firefox" button on the Troubleshooting Information page. Once I did that and got back in I was able to print pages correctly. Thank you for all your help and patience.

Google map inside the spry collapsible panel

So this time I've bumped into interesting 'bug'. I've placed the google map inside the spry collapsible panel. Panel is set to the closed mode on load of page. When I open the tab, map appears, but address marker is hidden behind the top left corner. If I place the same map outside the collapsiple panel it renders all well.
So my question is whether there is any way around this issue. When I know where the marker is hidden I can simply move the map and see it, but customer who's not aware of the problem will see only blank map with not marked address which is not acceptable.

How to load data using two maps for the same source file in Import Manager

Hi,
I am trying to load the source data to MDM using two map files, since one map is too big (creating memory error).
However the first map data able to see after loading (SAP data) but when loading second map(nonSAP data) using the remote key to match the previously loaded SAP key ,even if MDM is processing the data it is not reflecting in data manager.
Is there any reason for this.
Appreciate your suggestion and tips on this.

Hi Reo,
As ur requirement seems,In the second pass perform recording matching by select default import action as "<b>update null fields only"</b> for those data records which are matching and "<b>create</b> " for those data records which are not matching with previous data records from SAP system.
If you define "update null fields only", then only the key of the new record from NON SAP will get appended to the existing record. And if you select "create" then it will create new records and will apply NON SAP key on it.
Please check the remote key values using data manager.Key is applied in the records or not.
Remember that import maps are client specific. Remote key comprises of both key and client system.So be sure that you are connecting to two different client systems.
I have tried this and this is working fine on my system.
