Blank message box in FireFox

Hello everyone!
I experience a very annoying problem when trying to view a PDF file on the Internet. When I click on a link to open a PDF a blank message box appears and the PDF file does not load...
I am running on Windows 7 x64 bits and FireFox 3.5.7. My version of Adobe Reader is 9.2.
Oh, also, sometimes after spamming the link to get it open the PDF finally open without any problem... but it can takes like 10-20 tries. I did try to re-install Adobe Reader without much success, and no it's not the PDF file having a problem since it happens with every of them and that I'm not having those troubles in my other PCs.
I hope you can help me guys

Up! Anyone can give me a hand?

    Try This..
    1. Open the crystal client on your local machine and import that particular report.
    2. Do Database -> Verify Database. Then refresh the report on your PC and make sure that it returns data as expected.
    3. Export it back to repository and try scheduling it again. You can verify through CMC for Crystal Reports under " Database Configuration" property to make sure it points to the right ODBC.
    Let us know.

  • Blank Message Box while using a 'raiseException'

One of our customers has reported that they see a blank (no text at all) message box with only an 'OK' button.
The issue not reproducible in any of our development environments. I checked that the following line of code is supposed to throw that error message:
    this.raiseException("PER:::PER_EMMNG_DEL_NO_CHANGE", "OBJECT_NAME", null, "Error");
I tried to break the code in my dev environment and noticed that if the message name ("PER:::PER_EMMNG_DEL_NO_CHANGE") doesn't exist in the FND Messages, the message box simply shows the message name (no resolution to message description happens). Also, if the message name does exist but the message description is blank in FND Messages, the message ID (PER-15xxxx) is at least displayed.
I could NOT reproduce the case where the message box was completely blank.
Would there by any particular scenario which leads to this kind of a behaviour?
    Any pointers would be helpful.
    TIA

  • How come sometimes I cannot write text in a blank message box, nor can I write text opening an email and hiting forward and then wanting to add a short text note. I've notice this happens sporatically. What gives?

I tried to reply to an email and could not write a reply in the response box. I could not even attach a file. So I tried opening a new message box and I still could not compose a message. It appears there is an error the coding. Please fix it a soon as possible. This happens to be my lifeline.
    Many Thanks!

Thank you very much for the response Jason and I am sorry for the late reply but as usual life got in the way.
I ended up doing some more experimentation and I did fix the bug you pointed out.  When this didn't solve the problem I started to look at other files.  It turned out that my .bash_aliases file was the real culprit.  The offending line was:
    alias su='su -l | cd ~/' # invokes a login shell then changes to root's home directory
I fixed the issue by changing that line to read:
alias su='su -l ' # invokes a login shell then changes to root's home directory
As always thank you for the help,

  • I cannot access Firefox at all anymore other than a blank screen and a "Firefox is not responding" message.

I updated the versions of both Firefox and Adobe and now I cannot access Firefox at all. There is a blank screen with Mozilla Firefox top left. A couple of seconds later "(not responding)" appears. An attempt to close the window results in a box with the message "Firefox is not responding"

You may need to delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing the latest Firefox.<br />
In case you still have problems after installing then check your security software.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • I cannot open my firefox broswer. The message box appeared that said a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Under that there are debug and close program buttons.

JackieMars71 I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine if there are any errors during the installation process.  You can find information on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

    cor-el,
Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

    Hello,
In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the Firefox options set and protect users from unintentially damaging their Firefox, the option to disable JavaScript was removed from the Firefox Options window.
However, the option to disable JavaScript was not removed from Firefox entirely. You can still access it from about:config or by installing an add-on.
    '''about:config'''
    # In the address bar, type "about:config" (with no quotes), and press Enter.
    # Click "I'll be careful, I promise"
    # In the search bar, search for "javascript.enabled" (with no quotes).
    # Right click the result named "javascript.enabled" and click "Toggle". JavaScript is now disabled.
To Re-enable JavaScript, repeat these steps.
    '''Add-ons'''
You can alternatively install an add-on that lets you disable JavaScript, such as
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/ No-Script] (to disable JavaScript on a per page basis, as required)
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/quickjava/ QuickJava] (to easily disable and enable JavaScript, automatic loading of images, and other content)
Thank you and I hope this helps!

  • FIREFOX has stopped working is the message box ... cannot access

For the past week on attempting to open FIREFOX, i get an instant message box "FIREFOX has stopped working" this is followed by a second box "Windows is checking ..etc " and that is it, just cannot access F/FOX.
I am having exactly the same issue with THUNDERBIRD.
I am a "computer igno" and do not want to lose address books/contacts etc via an "uninstall/install".
have tried "start up repair" and 'restore using last known good configuration' without success.
any advice to resolve this issue, in simple layman terms, would be appreciated ... many thanks.

cor-el ... thank you for your response. i will need to work my way through the many possible fixes within those articles.
my concern is that my problem may not be a crash" or a "hang" given that i cannot access "FIREFOX" at all .. hence the message "firefox has stopped working".
thanks again .. tomorrow will hopefully be "fix" day after a week away.

Updating my AdBlock filters as suggested in the thread below worked for me.
