Blank pages in generated Word document

I am using RoboHelp and I have created a document similar to
others that I have created. I generate printed documentation to
Microsoft Word, and it seems to have extra blank pages scattered
throughout the document. When I edit it with Word, I see these
Section Breaks that are in there. I have to delete those and then
re-format my page breaks to get it to work right. This is a real
pain to do especially if I have to make updates to the document
(which I know I will have to do). Any ideas as to why this is
happening all of a sudden? There is really nothing unusual about
this document but perhaps I am missing an option or something is
extra that shouldn't be there.

Early watch alert - problem with generating word document

Hello experts,
since last week I am not able to generate word documents of early watch reports. I have access to 4 different solution manager installations (of customers) where the generation was working without problems but stops since last week.
SAP gui starts word and the standard word sheet is loaded (SAP early watch start page) but without putting data into the sheet. At the same time I get an error message in the sap gui saying:
Error during download; read details in long text
Long text:
Message no. DSVAS824
Diagnosis
The application was unable to write a file to a local directory.
Procedure
Often the maximum length of 128 characters for the entire file name, which is defined internally, is exceeded. To avoid this problem, you can change the setting.
To do this, open Microsoft® Word.
For English interfaces, choose Tools->Options->File Locations->User templates.
For German interfaces, choose Extras->Optionen->Speicherort für Dateien->Benutzervorlagen.
Recommendation: Use directory names with a maximum of 60 characters (For example C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeTemplates)
I have already maintained the path in word options (we use Word 2007). My colleagues have the same problems.
Any ideas or hints? Thank you in advance.

Regarding "Generate Word document"

I have one layout of xml publisher. In the layout I have made the page setup as
Margins:
Top - 0.3 Bottom - 0.3
Left - 0.5 Right - 0.5
and in Layout tab I have
Header - 0.3 Footer - 0.3
I have attached this layout in the Templates tab of XML Publisher responsibility.
But when I am trying to Generate Word Document of my report, The layout and margins gets distorted.
The Margins change to
Top - 0.42 Bottom - 0.4
Left - 0.46 Right - 0.46
and in Layout tab I have
Header - 0.5 Footer - 0.5
Please help me out how can I control the header and footer of my report. Your ideas are welcome at [email protected]

How are you generating the Word documents, manually? I haven't used it, but it looks like docx4j might be good library for building the documents. How can one print a particular page or pages from a Word Document using ActiveX or any other technique?

I've been trying to print a few pages from a Word document.
Currently I am able to print the entire document using some ActiveX techniques.
There seems to be facilities for selecting the particular pages, however so far I cannot get them to work.
I have tried the From/To and the Pages in the PrintOut invoke node.
And as you will see I have also tried the Range node.
Anyone have some ideas on how to do this?

It's either in local folders, as it seem you had been doing, or in icloud. If you go into the mac's Pages and view the icloud files, you can drag on onto another to create a folder. But you can only have folder one level deep, so you can't organize your files/folders like you can on a mac, using nested folder several levels deep.

What exactly is the problem?
Your description is so muddled I am having trouble working it out.
How does your exported .doc file mess up websites? In fact what does it have to do with websites?
Where, how and what are the random words turning up?

How do I save a web page as a word document?

I can't seem to copy a web page into a word document so I can edit it.

Firefox will no longer allow me to copy a block of text to save it if the block goes farther down than the bottom of the screen. It used to scroll down as far as necessary while holing down the highlight button on the mouse but now stops and will not scroll with a block highlighted beyond the original screen.
I've been using IE for the past month because firefox stopped allowing this while it still works great in IE.
I just upgraded to firefox 5.0 hoping it would fix the problem but it did not. Guess I'll be back in the old and slow IE.

Thank you so much - so simple! I had been using the 'share' option (worked in old Pages) and only had icloud or email as options. I have to attach word documents to emails to send to work. I don't want to use icloud because it's too public and I don't trust it. Also, you have to be able to access the internet and I need word documents on my USB stick for work where there's no internet.
I love my Mac but I do wish Apple would remember those of us living in less-than-perfect computer-land.

Using and Apex developed system and generating word documents

Started a new development project. We looked at using Apex for the system but ran up against a road block because the customer needs to generate word documents that they can edit and print. Does anyone know if Apex can handle this? Any suggestions on were to look for more information.

How to generate Word document from JSP ?

Hi,
I want to generate Word documnet from JSP. I am using Neva objects to generate Word document. Now my problem is Word doc generation code works alright as a Java application but when I place that piece of code in a JSP bean it throws an exception. The reason seems to be unavailibility of DLLs and other files of Neva in Tomcat environment. I do not want to use other complex packages like JIntegra, I would prefer any freeware solution. There is not much info. about Word document generation on POI project in Jakarta site.
Could anyone suggest way out ? Any Java examples doing the same would be of great help.

I have tried that too. Problem with that solution is that if you have used CSS in your JSP code MS word does not understand it and generates word doc which is not the same as HTML which JSP otherwise would have generated.

IOS 7 'Define' option pulls up blank page when highlighting word for definition

Has anyone experienced this problem after updating to iOS 7? It appears the dictionary is missing when highlighting a word anywhere in the OS and selecting the 'Define' option to look up a word. It just displays a blank page with the words 'no definition found'. I've experienced this with my iPad Mini also. The apps I've tried this in are iBooks, Notes, Mail, & Safari.

When I create a file, why does the PDF have text aligned on different pages than my word document?

I am trying to create a PDF of a Mac Word document. In the conversion process text seems to shift - what was on the bottom of the first page in the word document shows up on page 2 of the pdf. Any thoughts?

Inserting Multiple Page PDF in Word Document

I've been searching for an answer to what I thing ought to be a rather simple question and I can find nothing. I have a couple of users who have attempted to insert a multiple page PDF into a Word document and found that only the first page of the PDF
shows up in their document. Is there any method to insert multiple page PDFs into Word as multiple pages without splitting the PDF into individual single page files and inserting individually?

A quick and dirty way to do this is to open the pdf document in question with word separately. You get the following warning message.
I can then select all and copy/paste in to my word document.
The few pdfs I tried this with pretty much turned in to all images when I did this, but it worked my purposes.
I did end up having to resize one that didn't seem to want to fit when I pasted it in. There may be a method to select an image and automatically fit it within the margins of the page it is on that would help that.
The file size on my resulting word document seemed to grow quite a bit as well. Again, not really an issue in my case though.

Transferring iWeb page to a Word document

I am just using iWeb for the first time. I dont want to publish what I make at all because I am just making this page for a homework assignment. How can I save the webpage in a Word document so that it is accessible to be able to save it to my files?

I problem that I have with sending it to school is that for this project, I am using the Illinois State website. So I have basically copied the website layout, therefore I cant publish it because it would be plagarism. Plus, I cant print it out for the assignment because it has to be turned in over the Internet. Do you have any other suggestions?
