Blank PDF Pages out of IDCS

I have a document created by someone else. When I create a PDF, spread 1 comes out great. Spread 2blank. No idea. The only possible factor I see is that in the page icon palette, the first spread is shown with white icons and the second spread icon is shown with transparency icons.

Using Acrobat Javascript you can create a empty document with the method newDoc. With the method insertPages you can insert pages.

How to i fix the blank pdf pages I keep getting?

Nothing loads when I try to follow a website and open a .pdf . I made sure safari, and all my adobe is updated. I checked under security in Safari then opened manage website settings. I found the following error "Adobe Flash Player" is set to run in unsafe mode for some websites the same is for Adobe Reader. I try to change the settings to allow but it keeps the error message and won't open anything for me. How can I fix this? I've already uninstalled all my adobe stuff and reinstalled it, reset Safari ect but none of these things work. Thanks.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
and check the box marked
Allow Plug-ins
Then click
Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/Internet Plug-ins
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
Step 6
Do as in Step 4 with this line:
~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

White and blank PDF pages

I bought electronic books from pubu.com.tw. i can open these books in computer with adobe reader. but, when i copy these books into my portable electronic Book, i can only see white and blank pages. i use Adobe Digital Editions 2.0 to open these books in my computer,still white and blank. i am very anxious about this problem. Why????(

You need to make sure your portable electronic Book is registered with the same AdobeID as your computer.
If it is fully compatible with ADE then ADE should ask you to register the device when ADE is run with the device plugged in.
If not, there may be some other way to arrange authorization; tell us which eReader device you have.
There are quite a few devices which ADE 2.0 is having problems with, but which worked on the older v1.7.2.
Version 1.7.2 is a little difficult to find,
available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Acrobat XML Data Package Opens as Blank PDF in Firefox

My clients complete a form on my website that goes to an Adobe
PDF form on my website with an XML Data Package. I simply click on the PDF icon on the administrative website, and a
PDF opens with the data populated in the various fields...and this has worked well for years. I just upgraded to Firefox 4 and when I click on the PDF icon, a blank PDF page opens. I tried uninstalling Firefox 4 and reinstalling Version 3.6 (it had worked b4 in 3.6), but now I have the same problem as with 4. I tried changing the settings under Tools in Firefox to always use Acrobat Pro to open the XML Data Package, but that didn't help. HELP!!

Either try doing a repair to Acrobat (the Firefox update may have messed it up) or download the file and work with it directly in Acrobat.

How to get rid of blank white page next to cover page when converting an indesign file into a pdf flip book

I created an catalog using indesign and now I want to convert that into a pdf flip book. I have exported it as a SWF then changing the SWF back into a pdf. It works great however, I keep getting a blank white page next too my cover page, and I really don't want this. I find it very distracting and visually unappealing. Is there any way to get rid of this blank white page? Or any other suggestions on how to create a flip book out of an indesign file.

It sounds as if you're not checking the pagination properties of the chapter after the problem within the book file.
The book file settings always trump the component file's settings.
So this would mean that, if Chapter 3 is set in the book file to start on a Right page, the book enforces this by adding a blank page to Chapter 2.
You should be able to fix this by selecting all the component chapters in the book, right-clicking and setting all the pagination properties to start on Next Available page, but I don't have 7 on this system so I can't give you the exact key strokes.

If you are running Mac OS X 10.7.3 then you have Lion installed, not Snow Leopard. It's probably not important to this discussion, but something you should be aware of.
What application are you printing the PDF files from? Have you tried opening the PDF file using the Preview application that can be found in the Applications folder? Does the issue still occur? Have you tried other PDF files from a different source?
Another poster in the following discussion thread reported that this method resolved their black blank PDF issue when viewing (and presumably printing) PDF files from Safari.

There's a solution if you want to see the PDF inside Safari's window :
Go to the folder : Your Hard Drive / Library / Internet Plug-ins.
If you see a file with PDF in its name drag it to the trash.
Quit and restart Safari to test with a PDF.
If it works you can empty the trash.

PDF converter and combine PDF pages are blank?

I signed in to Adobe and tried to use the PDF converter, but the page is blank. The combine PDF page is blank also. What happened? I can see the other tabs, but these two are blank. Need to know what is going on. Thanks.

I can't open pdf from safari. I get a blank black page

On a Mac, I can right click if the option is available and download to downloads and open that way but I can't click on a link that is a pdf and it open. It loads a blank black page. Am I missing a plug in? What? IT is driving me crazy.

Blank one page pdf too big

Why is my blank (I have deleted the text) one page pdf so big, it's 440KB.
It contains nothing.

I have the same problem with documents that are not blank- under audit, everything is reasonable, except for huge overhead, which I cannot get rid of. Tried all the techniques under help.

Don't know what is going on. All of the size is in what is called the Document Overhead. I have not found anyway to remove that aspect. Bill

Blank first page

When I import an existing PDF (from a set of customer supplied PDFs) into the Designer I consistently get a blank first page that I am unable to get rid of. In the hierarchy view there is only one page showing. If I click on that page I go to the page with the controls on it (the second page). The page counter at the bottom shows 1/2 for the blank page and 2/2 for the page that the controls are on. I have tried dragging and cut/paste the controls to the top (blank) page. If I try to create a control on the blank page, it shows up on the Hierarchy tree under the the "topmostSubform level, between the Master Pages node and the Referenced Objects node - but the controls are invisible on the Body Pages design area.
It seems completely unrecognized in the environment, except by the page number counter.
This does not happen on all PDF's - I tried a similar one from another source and it imported fine.
So 2 questions -
1. What would be wrong with the customer PDF original that would cause this problem?
2. How do I get rid of the blank page?

I also had this problem after converting some existing pdfs into Livecycle Designer 7.1. I tried the same conversion in v7.0, and it didn't do this, so I suspect an undocumented feature may have crept into version 7.1. ;)
I found that the problem was that somehow the subform for the first ACTUAL page was longer than the bottom of the page. After re-adjusting the subform to something just under the bottom of the page, my extra page vanished and all was good again.
My clue was the fact that when I was on that page and clicked down towards the very bottom, the size in the bottom status line showed 8.5in X 11.014in.
Hopes this helps someone out there. I spent almost a whole day trying to figure it out. :( I looked through seemingly endless XML code and never saw it. It was probably there but I just didn't see it.

Rwrun.sh generates blank PDF file on AIX

We are using Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 on AIX
Application Server 10.1.0.2.0 on AIX
I have executed the following command on AIX to generate my report in PDF format
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/rwrun.sh report=rba14.rep userid=eoc/eocuat01@eocuat01 server=rep_faydev desformat=pdf destype=file desname=hassan.pdf
but a blank pdf file generated.

Hi Leilam,
I suggest you lower the amount of pages you are printing to PDF and combine the separate documents later. Try creating a 20 page PDF file first and if it works print the next 20 and so on. In the end you have 5 - 20 page documents, which you can then combine in Acrobat and save the resulting file accoringly. Check how much hard drive space you have (maybe it's getting low) and I also you:
Repair permissions regularily, run a utility such as MacJanitor or Cocktail to clean up your machine. Creating a large PDF file requires both RAM and available HD space that the MAC needs to use as a Spool or temporary storage space. ie: if the resulting PDF is 100 Mgs, the OS requires a little more than double that space before you begin to create the file.
if the above fails, try deleting the Preferences and rebooting to clean out the RAM.

Formprocessor Not working Blank PDF

I've been trying to merge and xml document with a pdf document so that I could run a batch of po's.
I copied the exact code from the XML Publishers User Guide on page 10-5 calling API's everything complies but I get a blank PDF for my new output file.
I was wondering if anyone has done this and could help me with this. I would like to merge the xml with the pdf so I could run multiple pdf's at the same time this is my goal....
I also looked at the java docs for the FormProcesser() method and found that I could also run it from the command line which also gave me a blank pdf for my output.

I now have it working there was a problem with the tags in the pdf, but my new problem is that the pdf is not printing the lines correctly.
Example is I have a Purchase Order with two line that prints fine but it also goes to another page so I have 2 pages instead of one. Looks like the tags for the start body
<?rep_field="BODY_START"?> and <?rep_field="BODY_END"?> in the pdf are right but the line items in the pdf are repeating but not stopping...
The line items in my example each have this tag associated with them....
<?rep_field="T1_G1"?> in the tool tip each with different names....
So my java program runs fine and gives me my new output file but with two pages instead of one I don't know if I have to parse out the xml for each order based on the order number or if my repeating field tags are wrong in my pdf.
