Blank podcast logo in podcasts app

I need help. A long time ago, I had a similar issue on a podcast I eventually became uninterested in. I figured I'd just delete it, and all would be well. Since then, I've restored my iPad. Now the same darn thing is happening with my personal favorite podcast. Roosterteeth podcast, for any who care. Any help?

So, the actual Rooster Teeth logo is missing and it's replaced by a generic podcast logo, correct? It might be a problem on their end, perhaps they didn't include the logo for that episode?

  • Enhanced podcast (don't see chapter and pictures in podcast app on iphone or ipad)

    hi people !
i create enhanced podcast, and try that podcast on itunes app on my pc. Everything work ok, except pictures but i know that this is bug with curent version of iTunes. Then i opet same m4a enhanced podcast in quicktime app on my pc, again everything work ok, i see chapters and i see pictures. Then i put same file on my server, i see that podcast in my podcast app on my iphone and ipad and when i stream it , i don't see pic and logo for chapters. when i scan my enhanced m4a podcast file i see that my file have: general, audio, video & menu section
    in first general section
    Format :
    M4A
    Codec ID :
    M4A
this not working on podcast app on iphone or ipad !
then i scan enhanced podcast file downloaded from podcast app from my iphone with working chapters and pic made with garage band on mac by someone
and i see sections: general, audio, video and text 1 and text 2 sections (my not working does not have that last 2 , my last is menu section)
    Format :
    MPEG-4
    Format profile :
    Apple audio with iTunes info
    Codec ID :
    M4A
look at format profile ! it says Apple audio with iTunes info !
last thing is that i download from appstore app called Downcast, and try my enhanced podcast in that app wooow, everything work again ok when i stream, i see chapters i see pic. then at the end i download
Podreel — Enhanced podcast authoring tool for Windows
and try to build test podcast with that app, when i analyze enhanced podcast made with that app i see info say that podcast is made with garageband ??? this is fake tag made by podreel because podcast is made with podreel and not garage band, file made with podreel have this
    Format :
    MPEG-4
    Format profile :
    Apple audio with iTunes info
    Codec ID :
    M4A
again format profile is same like one from that working.
is podreel make fake tag because podcast app in iphone and ipad play exclusively enhnaced podcas make with garage band (podreel fake tag) or somebody know where I'm wrong. why my enhanced podcast don't play pics and chapters when is on iphone or ipad podcast app. i will write again that my file work on downcast app on iphone or ipad, work on pc in itunes, work on quicktime player etc work everywhere except there where i want to work in podcast app on iphone or ipad

hehe if somebody knows something this is def you Roger about first thing with seeing pic in itunes i think that i read all possible posts on web in last 7 days and nights and this is not working on my pc with control-click (Windows) but i don't care ! i wait for apple do magic bug fixing on new itunes version. And now about main problem. iOS devices are capable displaying chapter images because this is working right now with some podcast on my phone, i give you pic example iphone 4 iOS 6.1.2
in first pic you can see streaming podcast and chapters (little white dots on bar),second picture is first song with cover of single playing, and if you look close right from the clock zzz simbol is chapter logo, if you press it you will be see pic no.3 so this def working but working when you mad your podcast on mac with garage band ! that's why i write about format ids, tags etc

i test your podcast episode 36 then episode 33 and 31 ! bad news my friend no chapters and no pictures only one main pic. but when i test your podcast in downcast app in my iphone wooo i see text i see your pic i see chapters i see everything. so that mean it's working everywhere like mine except iphone and ipad app and now we come to theory of garage band things tags in m4a files. you write that you have done all this in podcast maker not garage band. This is now real mistery to me !
i analyze your file here and you have in last section menu1 and menu 2 so maybe problem is somwhere around this, not in format id because you have ok format id like one that working ok

    Greetings Heather,
After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error with the Podcasts app. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
    How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • Suddenly Podcast app only produces sound through speaker, not headphones

I have not updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone 4S because I heard there were issues, and I've already ordered (but haven't yet received) my new iPhone 6. I don't know if there was a Podcast update that downloaded automatically separately, but suddenly last night, I couldn't hear any sound from the Podcast app through my headphones. I thought it might be a problem with the headphones, because when I removed them, the file played fine through the 4S's speaker, and when I attached it to a clock radio later last night, it played fine through that too.
This morning, however, I tried listening to songs via Spotify with the headphones, and they worked just fine. But the Podcast app still didn't produce any sound. OR, rather, when I turned the volume to max, you could hear something, but not loud enough to actually make out the voices. I then tried playing an album in my Music app, and it worked fine. I tried restarting the iPhone. I tried deleting and reinstalling the Podcast app. I tried a hard reset of the iPhone. The only result from all of that was that now something's wrong with the Music app too, and while the music track comes through, the vocal track is very quiet, almost inaudible.
Anyone have any idea what's going on, how/why this is happening and most importantly, what to do about it?
    Help!
    Aaron

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting the phone, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not work, try to set it up as new device without using the latest backup, to rule out a software issue.
If still no sound, you might have a hardware problem, and the phone needs to be serviced.

  • My podcast app won't open, any suggestions?

when i click on the app get a blank white screen then goes back to main screen.  have tried re-starting.

    This is what I did:
1a. Podcasts app deleted from the iPhone.  Doesn't show on any of the home screens on the iPhone.  The button next to the Podcasts app in iTunes says "Install".  Synching the iPhone with iTunes generates the message "The Podcasts app is not installed on 'Maggie's iPhone 4', so you will not be able to play podcasts on your iPhone"
1b. Clicked the "Install" button for the Podcasts app in iTunes.  It now displays "Will Install"
1c. Clicked "Apply" in iTunes to start iPhone sync.  iTunes shows "Copying 1 of 1: Podcasts"
1d. Podcasts app icon is shown correctly on one of the iPhone home screens.  Previously, the Podcast app icon was a generic placeholder icon.
1e. Resyched iPhone and launched Podcasts app.  Everything now working properly.
2 & 3. Didn't have to perform these steps, which implies that earlier suggestions contributed to the fix.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Podcasts do not appear in Podcast App

When i sync the podcasts to my ipod they appear under the 'on my ipod' tab on the sync screen. However they do not appear in the podcasts app on the ipod, How if i search the name of the podcast on the ipod, and it finds them and plays them throught the music app. Any explanations? PS i reset the ipod to factory settings and after reinstalling everything it re-occurred.

The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
    - connecting the iPad to your Mac
    - selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
    - selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there  then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.
I assume that music and other items sync ok ?

  • Podcasts App & iTunes Setup

I apologize in advance because I know this has been frequently discussed, but I can't seem to find a resolution.  Does anyone have a simple guide or tutorial on how to correctly setup the Podcasts App so that it syncs properly with iTunes?
I have an iPhone, an iPad, & iTunes on a Windows 7 PC.  Before I was forced to use this extremely frustrating Podcasts App, I would simply allow iTunes to download all my podcasts, & then I would sync my devices (iPhone & iPad) with my PC via a USB cable.  Everything played nicely together.
Now that I have installed the Podcasts App I get all manner of strange things that happen.  All I want is for the same info. to be in all 3 places.  What is the best setup to get everything to sync?  Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

    (A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
Note: Data will not be affected but settings will be reset.

  • How can I create a playlist that syncs with my ipod touch 5 that plays both podcasts and music? Before updating to itunes 11 I was able to do it and now it seems that the power is gone. (I do not have the podcast app on my ipod touch 5)

When apple first introduced the podcast app for my iphone I discovered that installing it took away the option to have a playlist (smart playlist or regular) that mixed music, audiobooks and podcasts. I therefore quickly uninstalled it and was happy to have my iOS devices happily mixing music and podcasts.
With the push to itunes 11.1 and iOS 7 on my ipod Touch and ipad mini I no longer have mixed playlists. I do see (according to itunes) that the podcasts are copied to my devices but there doesn't seem any way to play them. Nor do my mixed format playlists contain them.
When combined with the change to the podcast tab in itunes that shows all available by default and doesn't seem to offer any way to Turn it OFF so I can easily see what new unlistened to podcasts exist it seems that the way I got used to using my itunes since my ipod nano first generation has been eliminated. I haven't read why so if someone could point me to their logic on how come I would want the changes they keep trying to force on me I would at least understand their motives.
If no one has a better fix I have discovered that I can declare the podcasts to be audiobooks and get them to play that way. One downside to that approach is that it doesn't clear them out of the podcast folder thanks to the change to the iCloud friendly format or whatever they were hoping for.

And what is the wording of the error message?

  • How can I sync a podcast in iTunes to Podcasts app, but not Music app

When I first got the podcast app I had three podcasts set to sync to my iPhone. Two were podcasts I'm subscribed to via iTunes Music Store and one is a podcast downloaded from a website as individual files (I changed the type to Podcast). The first time I lauched the Podcasts app all of them were there and I was happy. Even though they were now in my Podcasts app I subscribed to them from the app (except for the one that I didn't get from iTunes) I then turned off podcast syncing in iTunes so it wouldn't sync podcasts to both my Music app and my Podcasts app. Maybe this wasn't necessary but I didn't want duplicates and I found nothing online telling me if syncing would result in two copies or not so I chose to turn it off.
Now I've listened to all of the episodes of the one I downloaded from a website and I want to put more, newer episodes of it on my iPhone. However, I can't figure out how to get them from iTunes to the Podcasts app. The only thing I can think of would be to turn on syncing again but as mentioned above, I'd like to leave syncing off.
    Any help appreciated.

Unfortunately since the Podcast App is not part of iTunes, you cannot sycn from iTunes.  You have to subscribe to the podcast from inside the Podcast App.
Do this by clicking on the gear in the top right hand corner. Then turn "Subscription" on.  While you're here decide with order you want to sort them, oldest or newest first.  Be aware that, to my knowledge, your IOS device must be awake to download the podcasts you subscribe to.
To delete podcasts you've listened to, simply swipe from right to left on the podcast and tap on the delete button when it appears.  This is done by individually, just like in Mail. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a way to select multiple episodes to delete at once.

  • Does anyone know how the podcasts app is supposed to work?

The podcasts app with iOS 7 is drively me absolutely and completely crazy.
1.I try to sync podcasts between my core iTunes library and two iDevices.
I sync a whole bunch of podcasts from my iTunes library. At some point, they randomly disappear. I come to the support communities were the general consensus is to remove iTunes from the equation. I do that. I resubscribe to all of my podcasts on my phone. I go through the tedium of downloading all the old episodes, clicking each episode one-by-one since there is no button to "download all". It works, sort of, but episodes don't sync across all devices. Finally, I decide I'd be content if it just worked on ONE device.
    2. I resubscribe to all my podcasts on my iphone only.
Everything works, sort of, for awhile. Then one day I make the mistake of connecting my phone to my computer. The sync process decides to remove some (but not all) of my podcasts. Even those that haven't been listened to are gone. They are still available through "download old episdoes".
But I don't WANT to download them again. I already have, three or four times.  Worse yet is when they're replaced with the stupid cloud symbol. Look, I want to listen to these AWAY from the cloud, away from the internet.
I'm just 100% baffled by what the intent of this app is.  I have "Subscription - off" and "Refresh podcast - manually" on.  I am about to re-tag all podcasts as simple songs simply to get away from the irritating podast app.
Can someone please answer this very, very simple question:
How do I download and retain podcasts on my iPhone without them a) disappearing randomly or b) disappearing after they've been listened to?

Several ways to get similar results.  Image > Adjustments > Posturize with low values similar to what you'd use n Cutout.  This is the most flexible way I can think of as you keep the image in RGB mode with layers intact.  A more radical approach would be to reduce bit depth using Indexed Colour.  You'll need to experiment with settings, try changing Forced to Primaries, and Matte to Foreground Color.  There's no going back from this route, although you can change the mode back to RGB to re-enable layers, adjustment layers etc.
A nice thing about the Filter gallery filters is that you can change the layer to a Smart object with all the control that gives you.
Now if only this forum could filter out bizarre content.

  • Podcast App 1.1.1 (185) and iTunes Sync

    Hi,
I wonder if someone can point me to the correct why to use this application with iTunes, the issues I seem to be having is i have deleted the appliction off the iphone and to try and get the list of podcasts back to the same as the PC. Do i now stop the iphone from Auto Downloadind and just let the PC handle the subscriptions, the reason i say this is that before removing the app the number of dublicates that i was getting within the app was eating all my memory on the phone.
It would really help if Apple would publish a how to use guide undrr differnet use cases, i'm sure if you want the app on the phone to handel all the downloads and subscriptions then it may work but once youy add itunes into the mix it all seems to go wrong.
It may be that i need to tune off sync from within iTunes on the PC but again there does not seem to be anyt steer from Apple one way or another.
    Spence..

One you delete the Podcasts app from your iPhone, restart your phone.  You now should be able to play podcasts using the music app again.  You will be back to the way you were under iOS 5.x, where iTunes on your computer downloads the podcasts, and you decide (using iTunes) which ones to copy to your phone.

  • Podcast app woes

    itouch 5g, ios 8.1.2
The podcast app is malfunctioning again.
I think we're getting close to the monthly factory reset & re-install
(I'm about a week overdue).  Anybody have any solution to any of these?
This reset & reinstall cycle is ridiculous.  This is not 1959.
    1) After a while, podcast stops updating all of itself.  It doesn't update
playlists, & doesn't seem to catalog new episodes in its various podcast
feeds.  Sometimes new episodes will show up as additional downloads, sometimes
not.  When the device is sync'ed with itunes, this sync connection will show all
those missing episodes being downloaded to the device.  But they're not there
    in the podcast app.
Sometimes the updates will just magically appear sometime later, but
this has stopped.  This is usually a signal that the app is so messed up
that the device has to be reset.
    2) There is one helluva memory leak.  The device is nearly out of space, but
there is far, far less space used for these tracks in itunes, and in an itouch 4g
that I keep in parallel (I don't have to run the horrible podcast app on the 4g).
When you look on the device when it's hooked up to itunes, you can see hundreds
of duplicate tracks.  I don't know that they're real, but at the least it's an indicator
that the app has mismanaged the database.
Eventually it will run completely out of memory & then complain; that's an unmistakable
    signal for a factory reset.
A better podcast app would be nice, but it would have to behave itself
on bluetooth, have a good multispeed capability, & use itunes data & playlists.
The ones I've tried fail one of those 3 requirements.
    Any ideas/fixes appreciated! ==mwh

I gave up and deleted the Podcast app.  I replaced it with Instacast which seems to work fine so far.

  • Why do manually added mp3s in the Podcasts app all show up in the same folder?

    Let me explain!
I like to download lectures and talks and audio books from other sources than iTunes.
I like to add these mp3 files to iTunes, change the Media type of them from Music to Podcast, and transfer them to my iPod Touch. This is so I will more easily know which ones have been listened to and can be removed.
This worked (and works) well in the Music app. Everything was separated into folders based on what album name I had manually assigned to the ID3 tags of the files.
But in the Podcast app, all of these files are now lumped into one folder.
I currently have eight un-listened-to episodes of Philip K. Dick's Valis on my iPod Touch. But the folder shows a count of 106 unheard episodes in relation to this audio book, because it lumps all of my other manually added podcast media tracks into the same folder.
    Why is this?
Why does the Podcasts app refuse to let me separate manually added files into individual folders based on album information?
Had the My Stations feature let me populate its playlists in a more rational manner, and also allowed me to manually change the running order of the tracks (something which only seems to be possible in the On-The-Go playlist), I would not think that this omission was such an annoyance.
I have been searching for months for mentions of this problem, but I have not seen a single one, and so I have finally decided to make my own thread.
Let me know if the nature of my problem remains unclear.
    Joakim

    That doesn't do anything.
When I plug my phone in and attempt to sync it with iTunes and click on "Steven's iPhone" under "Devices" the display to the right just says "loading..." and it stays like that for hours. Nothing happens.
As far as I can tell, there is literally no way for me to delete the photos from my iPhone and I therefore, cannot upgrade to the newest software, download new apps, etc.
