Blank Screen on my nano ipod!!???!!

HELP!!! My ipod is about 3 weeks old, it has been working fine but it went dead and now the screen is blank even when it is connected to my computer. Any helpfull suggestions???

Get a flashlight and look into the headphone jack or the docking connection. There are moisture sensors in each location, they will be pink or red if they have been exposed to moisture. Remember that moisture includes steam, condensation, sweat, etc.

This has the best chance of fixing your issue if its not hardware related. If it does not fix it then you may want to consider setting the ipod up for service:

Or you can call Apple and have them set it up for you. Have your serial number ready.

IPod nano 4gb boots up to blank screen

ok this one is really weird. first of all you must know that i can't turn on my ipod on normally any more. i have to reset it instead of just pressing any button. but that's not the main problem. when i turn it on that way, there's no logo shown and then this whitely-glowing blank screen appears. it's just blank. and the funny thing is that i can still listen to the music. basicly nano works normally except for the screen- there's just nothin' on it.
i've tried restoring it and all that, but the screen is still blank. it's an ipod nano 1st gen, software 1.2, itunes 7.0.1.8
oh there's another funny thing. when i tried to restore it i tunes didn't ask if which version they should restore my ipod to.
any ideas?

Is your iPod recognized by iTunes? What happens when you try and restore it? Does the restore process not begin? Or does it complete and the iPod still shows that screen? Does iTunes say it is done restoring?

my ipod nano has blank screen and will not show anything. I`ve tried to restore it but when i plug it into my computer it says that i didn`t plug it in. I`ve tried to call apple and ask what was going on, but every time i call it either get`s me a machine or it`ll keep ringing and ringing. I`ve tried to write, but no one has wrote me back. I had my ipod nano since November 17, 2005 and I still haven`t used it, can anyone help? I also tried to take it to electronic stores, but their services to help cost more than what I paid for my ipod, Please help!!

You could try the 5r's, and disk mode.
Or you could call Apple 1-800-275-2273, I think there hours are 9-9 EST Mon_fri.
If you've had it a year I would call them and tell them it's not working and get the Apple Care.

If it's an iPod touch, try a reset.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, whether it's an iPod nano or touch, it probably needs service > Apple - Support - Service Answer Center

Ipod turned off mid song - blank screen and wont restart

I have a 3rd generation ipod nano - used quite regularly but it has not sustained any known damages (not been in contact with water - not been dropped). I updated my ipod today - bought 9 songs and they synced in no problems. I was listening to the ipod in a doc for about an hour and then during one song the ipod suddenly cut out mid song and I cannot get it going again since.
The ipod has a fully blank screen - totally black.
I have gone through the steps via ipod - pressing inner circle and menue keys at same time. I have connected the ipod to the computer. I have re-started my computer - nothing...still blank black screen.
I tried contacting tech support via apple but it won't recognise my serial number! Its an authentic ipod - bought in an electronic shop.
The serial number is on both the origonal packaging and the ipod - but is not recognised by apple.
I am so upset - don't know where to go from here! I have years worth of music on this ipod which I am very worried about losing..and cannot really afford to dish out for a new nano right now.
Any suggestions for me?

I now found out my son dropped the nano into a puddle, so it got wet. I reformatted my ipod to windows and now I get a blank screen. Help!

My brother gave me his old Ipod 30Gb, I believe it's an IPOD Classic. When I first connected it to my PC I got a message that it needed to get reformatted to Windows, so I did that. After that when the IPOD came back on it had a blank screen. I tried holding down the menu + center button also but that did not work.
I also tried running the diagnostics on iTunes and failed on the Device Sync Test. I can see the music on the IPOD but they are greyed out and it won't play. But if I attach the earbuds I can hear the songs, but again the screen is blank.

it wont play but you can hear the songs.
Just a wild guess, your battery is low, connect it to the PC for 4 hours, then Reset the iPod. (Menu+center button
till the Apple logo comes ON)

While updating ipod touch we now have a blank screen. I have updated itunes but am unable to sync because the ipod does not show under devices. I have tried shuttng down and restarting but only have a blank screen or ap0ple logo. Sometimes the screen shows connect to itunes but that has been it.

I have the same problem, after upgrading my itouch to iOS6, it doesNOT respond to anything, apple logo stays on the screen all the time and does NOTHING! restore does not work either.... i hope we can get an answer from someone soon... apple support did not have an asnwer.
