Blank Screen when web browsing

To start with, I'm running an ASUS laptop, Intel Core i7, 64 bit OS; connected to an ASUS RT-N56U router.
The other day I tried to check the data on an old external hardrive (which I've determined is dead), and in the process of looking things up on the internet I received a virus which AVG took care of. Afterwards my browsers stopped working, and ever
since then all that happens is I get the starting page and when I try to go to any website all that happens is the address bar goes blank, and the page either goes white or just sits on the load screen. I've tried IE and Chrome, but they both say they
cannot connect to the internet. My laptop says that it is connected to the network and connected to the internet, so I am assuming something is wrong with my system somewhere, please help!! :(
I've determined that the router and internet are both working fine since I am running a second laptop on the same setup as the broken one. Plus there are other systems that are connected to the network that are running just fine.
After searching for hours, I have done the following:
>Reset the router/modem/laptop, a few times.
>Disabled internet connection on laptop, turn it back on
>On separate computer checked the router settings and it states that my computer IS connected to the router
***NOTE: I can't access my router settings from the broken laptop, if that matters***
>I have verified that the MAC filter mode is disabled
>In the command prompt (as administrator) i ran "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" and got:

There were problems with hacked routers. Reset router settings to ISP default and set much stronger password. Test router with another computer or mobile.
Recover your infected systems.

There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
*1. Permissions in the Library* : Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
*2. Minor Database corruption*: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
*3. A Damaged Photo*: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
*4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/Library/ Caches...
*5. A corrupted preference file*: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help:
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

If running 10.7 or later hold down Command-R at Startup.
This should invoke recovery Mode.
Choose Disk Utility.
Select your Hard drive. Inspect the SMART Status in the lower right of the window for "Verified".
Select the Mac OS X Volume (originally Macintosh HD) click (Repair Disk)
If errors, run again until it comes clean or gets stuck.
Report any error messages.

This seems to be going on around here for a couple of days. I have seen several discussions about the mail app opening to a bank screen with different variations and issues after the blank screen appears. I wish I could say that my suggestion is the definitive fix, but I can't. Give it a try anyway and see what happens.
Close the mail app completely and reset your iPad. Not data will be lost.
In order to close the mail app, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the mail app then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Forward and Back when web-browsing

Can I program the Magic Trackpad so that I can touch it somehow to go Back and Forward when web-browsing, or must I click on the Back/Forward arrows on each web page? My Microsoft mouse had separate side buttons I could program to do this; much faster than having to go to the Forward/Back buttons and click on them to change pages.

I'm relying on memory here, but I recall that in System Preferences > trackpad > there is a one or two finger swipe to navigate forward/back. It works in Safari, not in the latest version of Firefox.

Did you configure the web server as the last part of foundation services? You could always get a patch for IE support but the blank screen always appears if the services wasn't started up correctly or if the web server wasn't configured lastly after any configuration change.

When I surf the internet using the Safari browser And I click on a link that is a PDF, I get a blank screen. The PDF does not render in the new Safari window. What happened?

I hope that this will help all those safari user that have been resisting the urge to put a fist through the screen like i was.
1) there is a hidden 'library' folder in the "home" (looks like the little house) account -- you have to unhide it and make your change there
2) i found it by doing a search for "pdf plugin" in the search area (by that litte mignifying glass icon thing)
3) here is the path. home/library/internet plugins/
4) once you are in this folder you have to swap out all the old crap that's there for the new/updated stuff
this is were you made sure your plugin are correct
HINT: i copied all the pdf related plugins from the other "library" (the ones that were recent installs) into this one
I then restarted safari and it was cool beans

[S] Latest Xorg crashes on dual head system when web browser is opened

Due to the long Subject line I abbreviated, the issue is solved but I would still like it if someone could answer my question if someone knows why
After updating Xorg and the Radeon drivers on my dual head system opening any kind of web browser causes Xorg to crash. Any other application: Dolphin, Kopete, Amarok, urxvt open and run just fine with no issues from Xorg (which is baffling me). I have a bunch of single head systems that use ATI video cards that don't have this issue, like the one I am currently on that has Chrome open with four tabs.
I caused a couple of these crashes and grabbed /var/log/Xorg.0.log, can be viewed from here http://sprunge.us/bNZC, as well as grabbed my /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-monitor.conf file, which is here http://sprunge.us/gbNW. SLiMs log file has a little bit more in it as far as errors go, http://sprunge.us/UjVK, mostly how it is trying to load VDPAU which if I remember correctly that is a Nvidia thing is it not? There are also errors how it can't load the RANDR extension. Anyone have any helpful pointers of solving this?

It seams that my 10-monitor.conf file was causing the issue, why I am not sure... and it would be nice to know what the problem with it was, but after moving that file out of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d directory and restarting X11 and using xrandr to get my screens setup the way I like them to be X11 no longer crashes when a web browser is opened. I wonder if this will also solve my issue of Awesome randomly crashing after long periods of inactivity...

URG: Blank Screen for Web Forms

Hi Friends,
I deployed all my forms on web recently I configured them to open in a separate frame .
My problem is now when I click on the link for Web forms it opens a new window "Oracle Developer Forms Runtime" --Title with a blank screen. If we resize the window manually then it will launch the application.
Previously it was working fine.
