Blank Shutdown menu

Hi, I have several DELL Precision T3600 with AMD FirePro 2270 video cards. This has happened on all of the PCs so far. After a user has been logged in for several minutes, the menu that flys out from the shutdown menu disappears, and also,
the right clicking in Outlook 2007 shows a blank area where the menu should be - you can see the shadow of the menu to the right of the red arrow in the screen shot below.
I've updated the drivers, and removed them (the issue still occurs), changed the theme etc. I'm really stuck as to what could cause this - all help appreciated. I have stopped any AMD services and this still does not solve the problem.
No events are written to the event log when this happens. If I log out and back in (not a reboot) then the issue is resolved, again for several minutes, until it occurs again! I'm flumuxed!

I would look at the startup folder see if any program is running at start up.
seems like a program is asking for a connection to ? network / internet / or file / or user / If you have several computers doing the same (( Network )) home network? private network ? look for network program "program could be in the
form of Office suite of some type or Banking /or Finance/ Cad (would be business software.

Crystal reports with static list parameter : blank dropdown menu

Hi,
I've created a very simple report displaying customer order (ordr and rdr1)
it has :
parameter DocKey@ used in the selection formula    DocKey@=DocEntry
It also has another parameter : static list with 2 entries
      - 1 : normal presentation
      - 2 : proforma presentation
The user has to choose between option 1 or 2 before displaying the report
Using the report in the Crystal application is OK : i can choose between option 1 and 2 in a dropdown list
If i use the Addin Menu // preview in SAP : i can choose in the dropdown menu
If i import my report in SAP and i try to preview it : the dropdown menu is empty and i cannot select anything
Anyone has the same problem ?
I use SAp SBO 8.8 pl 00 hotfix 14

I've tested with the last pl (18) and it works fine : no blank dropdown menu , i can select a value for my static parameter !

Gnome shutdown menu invisible under xorg shadow

Everything runs just well, only thing annoying is that I can't see my gnome log out/shutdown menu when I enable shadow by xcompmgr -cf, is there any solution, thanks in advance.

Are you using gdm at all?
On my laptop, when I decided to do away with gdm, I also started to have problems with shutdown menu. Back to gdm, and shutdown is working again!

Ipod Shuffle - 2 Gen, 1 GB - not sync all songs and blank autoplay menu

Hi,
I have two issues with my ipod shuffle, 2 Gen, 1 GB.
When I attach it to my computer a blank autoplay menu pops up. Nothing can be selected and I just click cancel and it goes away but it comes up every time I connect. I've tried going into the properties of it in my computer and setting the default action to do nothing but it still comes up. I've also disabled disk use within the settings of it in iTunes but it still happens.
Second when I try to autofill from a playlist, it shows all the songs ready to be synced but after doing about 11, it stops and says it's completed when it clearly hasn't. If I press sync again it does a few more then same result. It just won't fill the ipod up. I've double checked there's room on there and I have set zero space for disk use so the entire 1 GB is used for music but it still won't do a complete fill in one go.
Anyone got any ideas? Using latest version of ipod software 1.0.4 and latest version of iTunes 10.1.0.54

almost only playing purchased .m4p songs. Only very
few (1-2 out of 200) of .m4a are playing on the
shuffle.
The songs are getting transfered properly and when
the shuffle is connected I can play the
songs/.m4a-files stored on the shuffle through Real
Player (The folder structure is accessible through
the FileExplorer while the upload process is
running).
If I only upload not playable .m4a songs the shuffle
blinks "no music uploaded".
Looks like a firmware problem of the Shuffle since I
can't see any pattern which .m4a songs are played and
which not.
Can anyone share this experience? Any solution?
WHAT does iTunes' Get Info "Summary" say about the songs that don't play?

Tweaking the KDE 4 Shutdown Menu

hi friends,
i'm messing around with kde4 right now and i really like it so far, there's just one issue i can't solve:
i'm starting my desktop from the command line after a normal login via the startx command without any displaymanager like kdm.
this means that the kde shutdown menu doesn't show any options to shutdown or restart the computer, so i just wanted to ask you guys whether it's possible to tweak the menu in some way to integrate own commands like "sudo shutdown -h now" or "sudo pm-suspend" etc.

Do you absolutely need to start kde this way ?
Try using 'startkde' (/usr/bin/startkde) instead of 'startx'.

Gnome 2.26 shutdown menu

two quick questions:
1) i never see the shutdown button under "System" unless i start alacarte. after i start alacarte, the menu magically has the "Shutdown" item.
2) is there any way to not wait for 60 seconds?!

Why is my creative cloud app on windows 8.1 blank, no menu items.

I have a Dell XPS 15 laptop running windows 8.1 When I run the creative cloud app, all I get is a blank window, with no menu items. How can I fix this?

Quit Creative Cloud application .
End Adobe related tasks like Creative Cloud , CoreSync, AAMUpdater...etc from Task Manager.
1) Right click on Finder icon and select "Go-To" Folder option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.( Do not miss ~ symbol)
~/library
3)Then navigate to Application Support>Adobe>OOBE. Open OOBE folder and delete opm file.
Once you had deleted opm.db file.
Disable Anti-Virus and Firewall temporarily .
Then launch Creative Cloud app and check.

Blank Main Menu

Hi All,
Some of my users have this issue.
They are logged into SAP B1 2007B. They have been working on the same login for sometime. Doing Sales Order, Sales Quotation, Picklist and etc.
Sometime (not all the time), the user finds that their main menu is displayed blank. They are not able to view The modules like Sales - A/R, Financials, Purchasing - A/P, Inventory etc. But users still sees the 3 tabs (modules / Drag Relate and My Menu).
Has anyone come across this type issue?

This issue is inconsistent.
There is no need to reset the User FormSettings according to Authorisation.
if the user logout and login again, the Main Menu will show the options again. (without resetting the Form).
Apparently, this customer site is having lots of problems in their performance speed. We are not able to identify where is the cause of problem.

Scrolling between desktops causes Adobe CC to open and a small blank/white menu bar to appear

I have several desktops set up on my iMac (early 2013 model see screen shot for other details) and when scrolling back to desk top number 1 and if there are no other programs open the Creative cloud screen opens and a blank file appears with a greyed out menu bar on the left clicking anywhere on the screen closes both the CC screen and the blank file. I've had this problem from when I first installed CC (over a year ago now) and have lived with it assuming it would be fixed, but after many updates the problem is still there - see screen shot. Is there something I can do to stop this behaviour?

The restart/sleep/cancel/shutdown menu shows up all the time.

We have one of the newest imacs (beveled back), and it has started automatically asking if we want to restart/sleep/cancel/shutdown as if we had pressed the on/off button. If I hit cancel it comes back up again shortly thereafter.
Is it a faulty on/off button that need to go in for repair?

You should really use the Apple dropdown menu to select Sleep, Restart or Shutdown instead of using the power button.
To "Allow the power button to put the computer to sleep" Go to: Apple > System Preferences > Energy Saver and check the box "Allow the power button to put the computer to sleep"
Noting that: the power button should only be used to shutdown an iMac, if it is totally unresponsive.

DW CS5 - Is this normal? Blanked out menu in Library group

Hi; As part of the CIB course I am doing, I have to create a library entry.
So I select a button from the sidebar and click on the CSS Tag to select them all.
Then click on Assets > Library > New Library item.
A warning box appears which I "OK", and then all the text and the background behind the text (Not the whole button) goes black in design view.
Testing in Live view is OK, as is testing within a browser, but having done that the text & background to the text is yellow (Yellow is used as a text colour, but not background).
Odd if not life-threatening, but is there anything I can do to make design view behave?

Hibernate option in Shutdown menu?

I am using the MBP (last release prior to unishell design), with an external monitor and bluetooth keyboard an mouse. I often work on multiple files at the same time (up to ~10) and each one is ususally arranged on my screen or in spaces according to what I am doing. I often need to refer to multiple documents at the same time, and my problem arises when I am done working on the documents for the night and need to save the workspace exactly as it was. I cannot find a way to do that. I would love a hiberantion option on my shutdown screen, is there such an option and how can it be enabled?

Actually, when you put your Mac to sleep the current state memory is written to /var/vm/sleepimage so that if power goes too low you can still get back to where you were when you went to sleep.
This is the reason that it takes a long time for a Mac to go to sleep, as it is writting memory to /var/vm/sleepimage.
To further clarify things there are several kinds of sleep possible on new macs. all new portable macs come preset for new kind of sleep that does use sleepimage. but new desktops don't.
You can run
pmset -g | grep hibernatemode
and see what kind of sleep mode is set. 0 means old style instantaneous sleep without sleep image (that's what I got on my mac pro). 3 means the new sleep. that's the default for new laptops.
you can set the mode to what you want using
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode number

Should the GNOME shutdown menu countdown?

Once I've clicked the power icon in the top-right, then the power icon again. I get a menu in the middle of the screen with cancel, restart and power off. It also has the message "This system will power off automatically in 60 seconds".
I swear when I first installed GNOME3 that message would actually countdown. i.e. 5 seconds later the message would say "This system will power off automatically in 55 seconds".
Well, it isn't now. Am I going mad?
EDIT: So it does countdown, just in increments of 10 seconds. I'm not going mad.

Yes, it counts down in 10s intervals up untill the last 10s, so it's: 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 9, 8, 7, ... 1 --- BOOM
I would not know if you're going mad or not, but the countdown is the same here, so you at least don't have to worry about this
