Blank slide after import

After publishing a .CP file, I noticed I had left out a
PowerPoint slide. I went back to the .CP file and imported the
slide in question, but after the import process is complete, the
imported slide is blank. In my troubleshooting of the problem, I've
discovered that if I try to import slides from other .CP files into
this problem movie, only one slide appears and that file is blank.
If I create a new movie, I can import all of the slides from the
movie that has the problem.
Any ideas?

As I said, I'm new to Captivate -- just a few hours'
experience with this particular tool.
My company is starting to create e-learning courses and one
of the trainers created a 3-slide template for us to use. The first
slide was a splash screen and the next two were created from
PowerPoint slides using the company's template. He imported these
three slides into Captivate and made a template there. That was the
template I downloaded into Captivate.
Then when I created additional slides using PowerPoint and
tried to import them between his slides #2 and 3, the slide content
only appeared in the thumbnails.
When I clicked on that "ppt.png" line in the Thumbnail view,
I noticed that the entire slide was selected. That's what gave me
the idea that the PowerPoint template had somehow been imported as
a graphic. Even when I imported slides with no template, the same
thing happened if they were placed after slide #2. (What can I say
-- beginner's luck, I guess.)

Master slide after importing

Hello Captivate-community,
We have some projects which are made with Captivate 6.x and we would like to import the slides into a new Captivate 7-template.
After importing all slides are set to master slide "chapter".
How can we leave the master slide as it is ?

Did you create a custom theme in 6 that had those master slides? Did you use that theme in Captivate 7? You can also copy/paste master slides if you want.

Blank album after import from iphoto

after try to open one of my iPhoto library (500gb) in new photo apps....
it take some time to update and then later on it show blank album of photos which is ready to import and none of the pictures is there

It sounds as though you may have imported the thumbnails but I can't imagine how.
It all depends on what you mean by very low quality.
Your iPhoto pictures will be around 4,000x3,000 pixels but when they are imported into a standard def timeline they will be around 720x540 which is a tremendous reduction.
They should still look OK but not as good as the brilliant hi-res originals.

Change advance on power point slide after import

How do I change a power point slide that was imported to advance on click but I want the slides to advance automatically?

Hello,
Watch the imported slides, they all have a Click Box inserted at the end of the timeline (see screenshot in the red rectangle). Delete that click box and the slide will advanced automatically.

Power Point Slides Change Color After Importing

I built a lot of training material (22 Captivate
modules/movies)- Power Point slides for text, mixed with software
simulations. Several of the modules need updating, however, since
we upgraded from Office XP to Office 2007, I have been unsuccesful
in importing the edited Power Point slides. Instead of the gradient
pale-blue background with black text (as it appears in my Captivate
movies as well as in Power Point) the moment you choose your slides
to import into Captivate, they become purple with teal text. I had
a co-worker access my files on a share drive and attempt it on her
machine, with the same result.
Anyone else having Captivate anomolies after upgrading to
Office 2007?

I have also had inconsistent results with PowerPoint imports
in both Captivate 1 and 2. There seem to be less in version 2. The
problem that I have been experiencing is with fonts. I will have a
slide that clearly is within the frame in PowerPoint, but when
imported into Captivate flows off the bottom of the slide. This is
also incosistent from slide to slide. Here's what I have been
doing. It's isn't ideal, but hopefully time will get this issued
ironed out.
1) I go through my normal import procedures for PowerPoint
presentations by look closely at the thumbnails provided before the
final import. If it looks like there is going to be a problem, then
I bail out at this point.
2) I go back into PowerPoint, call up my presentation, and
the do a File > Save As> and then select the file type at the
bottom as JPEG. It will then ask you if you want to save all. I put
them in another directory and PowerPoint saves each slide image as
an individual JPEG image.
3) I go back to Captivate and import these as images in the
file creation sequence.
This usually results in a pretty clean set of slide.

I tried quitting Captivate to force a save. The dialogue asking me to save appeared - I clicked Save and Captivate just sat there. I had to use Task Manager to quit the application and, when I reopened my file, the imported slides and the changes I made after importing were gone.
So importing slides is one more feature that doesn't appear to work.
I'm at the end of my first week working with Captivate 4 and I'm not impressed. The new features look promising but were they bought at the expense of older features that no longer work?

CP will not save after Importing slides

CP 2 is a flakey one, often requiring 10 times the amount of
work to do the simplest of things. My project is two steps away
from CP app-so it shouldn't be getting lost. But, after importing
only 2 slides into my project it will not save. It just sits and
spins until I have to crash it using Task Manager. The project is
not corrupted-it just won't import slides.
For $600 Adobe should be prepared to release something a
little more stable than this. For all the problems of Camtasia
plug-ins, I'm thinking it's still a less aggravating alternative to
CP.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Short silences inserted between slides after syncing

I have been syncing batches of videos and I have always the same problem. Once I have all my material ready (software simulations and slides) I import the audio in the fisrt slide and then I distributed it over all the slides. After syncing, I play again all the video synced from the syncing window and everything is fine. However, after clicking Save, it separates the audio for each slide and between a change from one slide to another Captivate inserts a short silence that it is heareable from the previews. To fix this I go back to the syncing window and I have to search manually all the silences inserted and delete them. It happens randomly and doesn't have an special pattern. I thought at first that it could be a silence inserted in the audio, so I try to edit the audio previous and next slide to the silence and I didnt find that silence. also, looking at the timeline there is no silence gap nor slide duration that could add that silence in the two slides.
Currently using Captivate version 8.01

Apex Application not working after importing to my apps schema...

I created one DB application in my sample schema that is associated with apex 4.0.....
Application details:
*) login page(where i will be giving username and password)
*) page 1 (consist of several form fields, like
--->name:
--->module:
--->projects:
----->email:
the above are the fields, if i put any entries in the above field means, it will get automatically inserting in the report column, which is also in the same page consist of the above fields in the table manner...
since this report table consist of an edit icon in front, if i clicked the edit icon of an one row means, it will go to another page..
*) i.e. page 3(consist of the same fields with entries in it automatically corresponding to the each and every row, suppose if i want to update any changes means i can update in it....
this is my application that i developed it is working well with in the sample schema apex 4.0..
What i did is i created a new workspace with APPS schema in it...and i have imported my application that i developed in sample schema to APPS schema....
Since after importing to APPS schema...when i tried to open the application, it is not showing any datas in it...That is due to the tables that are supporting the application is not in APPS schema, so what i did is i have given grant privilege to the respective tables and also i have created a synonym for accessing the table in APPS schema for supporting the application.....
Now if i tried to put any entries in the form in page 2, it is getting inserting in the report column which is also in the page2....
But my problem starts here, if i clicked the edit icon symbol in each and every row of the report column it is going to the page 3 which has a respective form fields, but it is not showing any entries in it automatically, and if i tried to put any entry in it, it is not getting updating in the report table......
why this problem occurred for my application in APPS schema....But my application works very well within the sample schema......why it is not showing any entries in the form automatically soon after i clicked the edit icon in each and every row.....
i couldn't know what is the real problem behind this..... help me friends.
As this is my urgent requirement in my project..Reply me ASAP...

First, try a system reset although I can't give you any confidence. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Problem on CLOB datatype after import

I got problem and call to Oracle support and they use DUL for extract data from datafile to dump file and I import everything is done and no error but when I check in CLOB datatype that have space(blank character) separate each character see below

Anyone have solution how to fix this problem?

if you use a direct insert you are restricted to 4000 characters.
You can put your value in a varchar2 variable and that allows you to insert up to 32767 characters.

Blank Screen in Import Manager under Import Status Tab

Hi Experts,
Problem: Blank Screen in Import Manager under Import Status Tab.
I have opened import manager with source file(excel & xml) and i have also did mapping from source fields to destination fields and also seleted display/key field in match records tab and refreshed it. when I select Import Status tab. I am not able to see any details/status regarding the map which i have done. when i click on excute button.. the source file is sucessfully import and pop up dailogue box shown. I have also checked in Data Manager and data was visible.
But.. at Import Status Tab in import manager.. i am not able to see any details.. it is just showing as white blank screen.
If any one know the solution could you please help me out.

Hi Bharat,
As per New MDM Release we have to Install MDM 7.1 servers on 64 bit machine and GUI's can be installed on 32 machine, whreas if you are using MDM 5.5 Version then 32 bit machine can be used.
Now as you said that you have sucessfully imported the excel file and then you have mapped the filed after that without any error you got the ready to import screen to import the data into MDM database then processwise there is no problem as far as screens are concern i will suggest you please un-install MDM Import Manager GUI and then again install it, your problem would be solved.

Categories Column Missing After Import

After importing some photos from my camera my iPhoto window is left in a strange state which I cannot seem to get out of even if I restart iPhoto or reboot the machine. It doesn't show the categories on the left at all and it shows a big blank grey window on the right with nothing to click on. The bottom shows all of the usual controls (Split, Edit, Rotate, Hide, Flag, Book, Calendar, Card, Web Gallery, Email, Print, Order Prints, and iWeb and below them add, info, fullscreen, play, search, and the thumbnail scaler). I was at one point able to fix this somehow by going into Time Machine and doing something (I know not what) and it went back to normal when I returned but I can't seem to replicate the effect now. Help!

Move your cursor to the extreme left of the iPhoto Window until it becomes a '+' then click and drag right.
If that doesn't work, try trash the com.apple.iphoto.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder

Blank slide when scroll a web page

when i tried to capture a web page and i scroll down, the programm just creates blank slides. i tried several times in different computers but it always did the same.
what am i doing wrong?

Since you've raised it as an issue, I guess that you're getting the blank page instead of the scrolled down page, rather than in addition to it? And that you're using automatic recording, not full motion recording?
For some reason your browser is indicating a change when it starts to redraw the content, but not after.
Easy solution: listen out for the camera shutter sounds as Cp takes an automatic capture, and if you're not sure that the screen has fully redrawn itself when you hear the sound, just press the button to manually grab a screen - by default it's PrtScrn.

Recording only creates one blank slide still the case. Please urgent help

I record internet explorer screens or notepad . After recording END button,all records become one blank slide. and No captions kept also
for example
I run the captivate 3
choose record new project
custom size
recording mode:demonstration (used also simulation,custom but no solution)
click on red record button
then after taking some actions on internet explorer or
have PC with the following parameters:
windows XP SP2
2GB Ram
ADI Radeon Xpress 1200 graphic card
AMD Athlon 4050E

Default Color of Blank Slide

I am in PhotoShop Elements 5 Slide Show Editor. I have inserted a blank slide and want its color to be blue. I have some pictures that don't fill the screen and I want the background color (on the right and left of the picture) to be black. When I go to preferences I can change the slide show background color to blue but that also changes the color on the sides of the narrow picture to blue. Is there some way to have a blank side color be blue and the background color of a narrow picture to be black without having to edit each individually?

Leave the background color at its default black in Preferences.
Then, after you insert the blank slide,
Method 1
Look at the panels on the right of the slide show preview area and you should see a
b Properties
palette window. It has a Backgound Color square that you click on and it brings up a Color Picker window, from which you can choose your blue color.
Method 2
Right click on that new slide in the small images across the bottom and choose
b Change Background Color
from the right click menu. Use the Color Picker window.
After you have done one slide in the color that you want (with either method)
You can use the
b Edit menu
to
b Copy
that blank (now blue color) slide and
b Paste
it wherever in the slide show you want an additional blue slide.
