Blank Space (Line) Everytime I delete a track in my Itunes Library

Hi Guys
Im currently having an annoying problem with Itunes. Its been happening for a while but it didnt bother me too much.
Everytime I delete a track from my library, it leaves a blank space where the track was and you cant navigate past it if skipping tracks by pressing left/right on the keyboard...all it does is return my library back to the top/bottom depending on which way you press to skip.
Ive seen that some other people have had this problem but no solution has been posted. Anyone got any ideas?

The reason it does this? It's a bug in itunes 9. Folks never saw it in previous versions.
A solution will have to come from Apple programmers after they figure out how to fix it.
There are several previous threads about it. The more people who report it, the better chances of it getting fixed. Random bugs like this are the most difficult to fix. If anyone can get it to happen consistently, even better chances of it getting fixed.
I've reported it to apple, and so have a few other folks. The only way to counter it is, change views.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

I am sure that a few album tracks on my iTunes library have shortened their original play length -has anyone experienced or heard of this happening before ?if so what is the remedy if any. All tracks were originally loaded from genuine original CDs

You will need to keep the number of the tracks below 25K. One option is to delete tacks and remove from your library.
If you wish to keep the files in your itunes library, you can manage the itunes match library by creating a second blank library.
You create a second library by holding shift key and choose create new library from pop up box. The name of library usually defaults to itunes1 ( you can rename if you wish). The library will be completely blank until you sign into the iTunes Store and activate match. You will be asked to add this computer. Do so. Once match process is completed you will now see all music that has been matched, uploaded or purchased. Each track will have download icon and you will be able to stream music.
If you delete the track you will get a message telling that it has been deleted from the cloud and any associated devices that you use for streaming but it is important to note that the track has not been deleted from your hard drive.
To verify this log out of iTunes, relaunch holding option key and select original library from pop up. You library will be as before I.e total number in your library has not changed.
You should have iCloud status column added to song view - this tells you if tracks have been matched, uploaded, purchased, duplicate, ineligible and more importantly "removed". The tracks deleted from second library will have iCloud status as removed. Match will ignore this in future scans. Track is still available on your hard drive.
Doing this will enable you to keep all you music in your itunes library on your computer. Whilst the "removed" tracks will be on your computer, they will not be available on ipad.

Deleted an artist from my itunes library and songs became incorrectly labled. Easy fix?

I deleted an artist from my iTunes library by right clicking and selecting delete on the artist name on the left side of the screen using the "artist" view (in case that is relevant). Not long after, I noticed that approximately 5% of my library had become shuffled around. A track would be mislabled, given an existing track name that was incorrect and attributed to a different artist (ie suddenly Airbag by Radiohead was shown in my library as Caring is Creepy by the Shins). The only information that seemed to follow the track to its new, incorrect location was the length of the track and the album art. As soon as I would select an incorrectly labled song to play the information would become correct and it would replace the song mostly where it belongs (although now many of my albums and artists are split into multiple entries for some reason), and I hunted out a pretty decent portion of the problem songs and fixed them that way, but many are still missing and I have a massive library. Short of literally pressing play on every single song in my library is there a way to fix this? It has also messed up my iPhone (4) in it's ability to search alphabetically, as several of the artist names appear out of sequence in the alphabetical list. I have to believe that there is some blanket way to fix this problem in one process, and I have tried selecting my whole library, right clicking and selecting "get info" hoping it would trigger something but that didn't do anything.
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently ran into a problem with syncing my ipod touch to itunes on my Windows 7 pc. It had previously been synced to my older laptop
and I wanted to change to my newer Windows 7 laptop's itunes library that I had already been syncing with.
Anyway, I started seeing this message that prevents my from syncing:

Not sure if it is talking about my iPod free space or my PC itunes library free space. Either way I have 11.0 GB free space available
on my iPod and 412 GB free space available on my Windows 7 PC.

It is saying that the iPod does not have enough free storage to sync all the items yu have selected to sync to the iPod. You need 2.48 GB more free on the iPod. You need either to select less to sync or delete some content form the iPod.

I lost my contacts and calendar, and photos since the iOS update and and it states that my iPhone cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 1 MB required). Also it shows that I am over capacity on my Capacity ruler but how do I unload some of that stuff so that I can increase my capacity and perhaps get this synching to work again.

On your iPhone go to settings>general>about and next to "Available" if you dont have much space then you will need to delete stuff on the phone to make room to take photos by deleting stuff on the phone.
In terms of syncing change what you are syncing and decide what you would really want and not want on your phone which would make what is syncing to the phone smaller.

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

Please help... I've been trying to get rid of a ton of unwanted music on my iPhone 4S. The music I had marked in iTunes to sync to my phone was not the only music showing up. In my attempts to get rid of the unwanted music, I decided to delete all the music on my phone. Even after unchecking the "Sync Music" tab, there were still 3 songs left as well as my previous playlists. Hi, I have just transferred my whole iTunes library from my old computer to my new one and am trying to sync my iPod to the new one. However I get an error message saying "iPod touch cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (additional 5.38GB required). I currently have 8.5GB free on my iPod so I don't understand why it cannot sync.

Hey Georgiarose94, If what's going on, is what I think it is, when you sync the information it's over written, it can take 2 to 3 times more space the get the info on your iPod, once it's there the info only occupies the space it needs. Kind if of like moving, when you first step in the room with boxes of stuff there's no room. But after you get everything put away all is well. If you haven't already, connect your iPod to your computer, from your iPod Summary page, go down to Options and check reduce bit rate to (select 128 kbps). (Wording maybe a little different). Will greatly reduce memory space needed on your iPod, and you really do not hear the difference in sound quality. Other option, go to music and select manual so you can pick which music you place on the iPod. You need to reduce by 5.38GB of information to finish your download. Hope this helps. Cheers.

That message is telling you that you do not have enough stgorage on the iPod to accomodate all the media you are trying to sync to the iPod.
