Blank.template file issue

Alright guys,
I messed up!
I was trying to get pages to permantly set the default language to Australian English, when I found that the pretty much the only way to do it is save a new blank template. (this is the normal blank template with the language set to Australian)
I tried to take it a step further and update ( well replace) the original blank.template file in the package folder,
And now i get error when opening old documents.
I know i shouldnt have messed with the application package
but If anyone here is kind enough to upload a copy of their original blank.template file
i'd be ever so grateful

P.S. yes, i've already slapped myself for replacing without backing up a copy

To have Pages in Australian english you change it in the System preferences. Not fiddeling with the application at all. You can create a blank template and change all the styles to australian english and then save that template as a template and it will be located in My templates in the New tempalte chooser.
To get an original blank template in the right location install Pages again.

While you can try switching Off Safari - Preferences - Extensions; and clearing data for that sitein Safari - Preferences - Privacy... it's often a problem with the site coding or server, and can't be fixed at your end.
Of course, if this happens everywhere - still try without extensions, and also test in a new or Guest user account.

PS saving blank PNG files, display issues

For the past few days, randomly, photoshop is saving PNGs as blank transparent files. A 640 x 1136px file is 60-70kb.
There are also some display issues that look like GPU issues but only happening with PS, no other programs.

How can I set Metronome to be OFF by default, besides creating a template file?

Default setting for the Metronome was always OFF until I upgraded to iLife '11.
From an archived thread on this topic, I was reminded of the technique of creating a template file to open with instead of "Create a New File", but that's a hassle to remember and find. And you have to remember to "Save as..." as soon as you get started.

The Metronome is on every time I open any of my previous files, even after I turn it off. The next time I open the file, it's on again. Impossible to stop that?
If the answer is "no", then this is a BUG in this version of GarageBand. Can't Apple developers correct that and issue an update?

HP LaserJet 8000N 'print' blanks PDF files.

HP LaserJet 8000N 'print' blanks PDF files.
Tried different PDF programs - same result.
PDF files prints OK on my other printer

How to setup a template to issue SHA1 certs if I have a SHA256 chain

Can any one tell me how to setup a template to issue SHA1 certs if I have a SHA256 chain. I looked at the templates and I didn’t see where it is specified?

Certificate signature algorithm is CA-wide settings and independent from certificate templates. You have to configure your CA to use SHA1 signature:

The document "Blank.template" could not be opened. in Pages

I can not open any tempaltes in Pages from iWork on Macbook Pro.
When I open pages. I can then pick a template. when I click that or any of the templates I get
The document “Blank.template” could not be opened.
I am new to the Mac world and trying to set up for my son to do homework. So please bear with me if I ask a lot of questions.
I reloaded the software and still get the same reply. Any help to get it running would be a HUGE help.

See if you can run Pages successfully in another User account. If so, you have a corrupt PLIST file in the main user acount.
I have a hunch that this is your problem since reloading the software didn't solve the problem. But, I have to ask if you may have moved Pages.app from where the installer put it.

In Solution Explorer we can set the Custom Tool property for a t4 Template file in the Properties window. But can anybody help me doing the same at run time?

Blank Template Backup?

Hi, I was stupid and edited my blank templates xml files without backing up the original, and now it's giving me font not found errors. I just don't want to have to change the font to TNR every time I open a new document.
Can someone upload or email me the xml files for their blank template, I'd really appreciate it, the files I'm needing are:

Blank Template - Change

How do I change the Blank Template preferences of the paragraph settings so that they come up in the basic format that I want? ie instead of 0 spacing before or after paragraphs I can have 6pt.

The save widow should allow you to save it in My Templates which will show up in the Template Chooser. Or you could save it anywhere you would find convenient. I save many of mine in particular newsletter files in Documents.

Blank Templates in White and Black Ready

Well I finally got around to doing this... you can now download entirely BLANK template pages in either white or black from my downloads page. These are not just page where I erased the text and left locked text boxes. Nope - these are real template pages where every object, minus the Apple logo, has been REMOVED from the template. Even the navigation bar no longer exists!
The nice thing about the two blank pages is that you don't actually have to install a new template to use them. Technically you can just download replacement files for Black Welcome.webtemplate and White Welcome.webtemplate and just overwrite your existing versions. That is... if you don't mind losing the original Welcome layout - no biggy, but you might care.
If you don't want to overwrite your Black or White Welcome pages, then you can install a new template that I built called Blank Pages. Right now that template contains both the black and white blanks. It has room for four more blanks and I will likely do blanks for Freestyle, Travel, Formal and Road Trip. I'll make an entirely new set of blanks for Baby and Kids and put those in a new template later.
Feel free to make suggestions as I prefer to do what people want.

Besides that "blank page" fear, that's my other underlying neurosis —
that people will find out I have no talent. 'Cause that's how I feel most of the time. 10% savant, 90% idiot. Using Apple technology to compensate.
Anyway, there you have it. Other than that, I'm a normal, self-adjusted human being, I think. (OR AM I FOOLING MYSELF??????)

File Deployer: .lck and template files showing up in File Deployer log?

This is our second installation of CPS, but this time around
a new issue has come up where the file deployer list is including
files that should not be migrated from the staging site to the live
site....
In our previous project when we installed the file deployer
for a client the deployer log only listed web pages and assets like
images and other documents, so when the site content managers would
go to deploy the files from staging to live only those kinds of
files would show up in the list. This time around with the new
installation macromeda/adobe files such as .lck and template files
are also showing up in the deployer list.
Any idea why this would be happening? It's not causing any
major problems, but it does clutter up the log file and
consequently, the deployer's web GUI interface. Eventually that
list is going to get very cluttered. The only differences between
this install and the previous one are:
* it's in a unix vs. windows environment (Sun Solaris).
* We've set up Dreamweaver integration for a Dreamweaver user
on the staging site.

Can't open documents or blank.template

I have an older MacBook with Pages 1.0.2. It can't open a new document, saying that Blank.template cannot be found. I downloaded Pages docs from Dropbox and from Pages on my iPod, and it won't open those either. Help?

Looking back through some notes I made, Pages '05 doesn't work well in Snow Leopard. Even '06 has some limitations when opening Word files.
I suggest getting a newer version. I think it is likely we will see updated versions of the iWork apps when the Mac App Store goes live. I suggest you download the iWork '09 trial which you can use for 30 days. In the meantime you can find legal copies of iWork '08 or '09 at greatly reduced prices through Amazon.com or on eBay.

Template files display as code in the browser.

I recently had to reinstall DW and delete my preferences from my machine.   I now have an odd issue.
When working in a template file (.dwt) If I do a "preview in browser" (Firefox, IE, or Chrome) the browser shows me the template as a text file (code view) not rendering it.
I have the newest browsers and DW CC 2014.2 - Windows 8.1
Any ideas?   This worked before I removed and reinstalled DW (except in IE). Now it does not work in any of the browsers.
I have tried old sites and files... same for them all.
Using html5 files.
I know it is probably something simple... but I cannot seem to find it or and answer in the nets.

"Update Template Files" not working, Dreamweaver CS5

"Update Template Files" does not seem to be working in Dreamweaver CS5.
After making a change to a template and saving it, I get the "Update Template Files" dialog box. It lists all of the files based on the template. So, I click "Update". Then, the "Update Pages" dialog box appears. Any files to be updated already open in Dreamweaver are modified correctly - in memory, that is. However, closed files do not get modified. The "Update Pages" dialog box seems to just get hung up. It just sits there with a status of "Updating...".
Is this an installation issue? ... a template issue? ... or what?
FYI: I am using the 32-bit version for 32-bit Windows Vista.

There have been, of course, numerous updates to it since the problem disappeared.
As for the specifics of what I was trying to change when the problem was first encountered, I was attempting to change a link URI in the navigation bar. However, any change at all would end the same way, with a locked up template synchronizer (or whatever the mechanism is called). Just before I gave up testing, I was repeating the process of simply adding a space anywhere and removing it in order to trigger the modified flag.
