Blank Transport Bar

Unlike the Logic Pro 8 documentation, my transport bar is completely blank. Worse, if I try to right click to customize it (to try to add some controls), nothing happens.
What gives? With a blank transport bar, how do you record and playback?

For what its worth, I found the solution to my Blank Transport Bar problem - a bad "Demo Content" CD that shipped with the installation disks.
I spent a fruitless several hours reinstalling the entire installation disk set, only to have the installer get hung up (again) on the last disk in the set - "Demo Content". While I can open and copy any file on this disc, the installer keeps telling me to insert it into my iMac. It has no idea the disk is already loaded. The only way I can get around the hanging installer script is to "Force Quit" it.
Apparently, the Logic Pro installation script does not register the Transport Bar controls until the very end of the installation process as everything else in Logic Pro interface can be accessed. (I suspect this has something to do with the mechanism that Apple uses to differ between a 'demo' and a 'registered' version of this software as the 'record' control is on the Transport Bar.)
The solution was to ONLY reinstall Logic Pro, and none of the other software on the disk set. The installation script didn't need the 'funky' Demo disk, so it was able to finish completely. Suddenly, I have a transport bar packed with all sorts of controls.
(The only thing that remains is to call a disbelieving Apple customer support person and try to get them to believe that Apple shipped a bad disk - and beg for a replacement. That should be fun.)

Hi, Just put phone in the recovery mode and restore to the factory settings. It should work.

Customize transport bar and save changes?

Am I missing some here but if I customize the transport bar and make changes, close logic and open it again those changes are not there? Shouldn't my changes to the transport bar remain? How do I save them as standard for all projects? I just want the pre-fader metering button there on all my projects.

No the changes in the transport bar are project dependent (this is not an overall preference setting) so you have to customize your template and take it from there.

Is it possible to save your own personal configuration of buttons so that all songs open with your selection? Seems to me to be a song-specific setting, not a global preference. It wastes time to re-configure the transport and you have to do it in every screenset!! (Let alone in every song)

What if I need to regularly open old Logic 7.x songs (which I do)?
Yes, I'll certainly re-configure my startup template, but a global pref would be better. I see that Logic 8 now offers 9 alternatives (in Global tracks) for Tempo (as before) but also for markers and signatures. Let's have alternatives for the Transport bar - ie different sets for different needs, that can be easily loaded via the local contextual menu.

I dont know what i did but the end result is even when i have set the marker to 0 my transport bar is reading 7: 43. so basicaly now when im at the 16 measure im already at 8 mins.. anyway shed any light how to solve this problem?

Hello,
maybe you dragged the start marker to the right by accident. It's the small grey handle on top left of the arrangement time track (just peeking out of the right side of the global track header).
Grab it, drag it to the left to set the project start to a lower value.

I have a theme, that shows more of it self, the more tool bars I have open so in an older version I added many blank tool bars, how can I do this?

Had to reinstall OS and everything on it including fire fox, but nothing looks the same.
I think I was using version 28, I had like six blank tool bars, and now with the customize feature I don't know how to get them back.
I'm also missing the large Icons for Home, back forward like I had in 28, and I can't find a refresh button anywhere that isn't a part of my address bar.
Is there any way to fix all this?

With Classic Theme Restorer, you can only have one additional toolbar though. You could use a user style to enlarge the last toolbar instead. For example, if the last toolbar is the Bookmarks Toolbar:

No Master Level slider in Transport Bar?

Hi,
I'm new to Logic, just bought Logic Studio and am now exploring Logic Pro 8, which, at first sight looks really nice (if compared to Pro Tools, which I used before).
Got a small question though.
Although I customized my transport bar to show the "Master Level" meter, it simply doesnt show up. I checked and unchecked the box, but nothing changes in my transport bar (whereas if I check or uncheck other boxes, buttons come and go in my transport bar)
This is, of course, not a big issue, but it seems quiet a handy feature to use and I was just wondering if this could be a bug or am I doing something wrong?

It shows up here... bottom right hand side of the Transport bar.
It's 2 speaker icons, one on the left, one on the right, with a slider inbetween.
You're really not getting that when you select it?
It might be a good idea to trash preferences then...

Blank gray bar

I have a blank gray bar at the bottom of my screen where safari, mail, etc. used to be. Please help.

It goes to page 69 but does not pass the values correctly. P69_RETURNPAGE has the value 2%252C2 and P69_HELPFORPAGE is blank/null.
The flashlight display of the parameter/value pairs shows both values to be & amp;APP_PAGE_ID. (Ignore the space between the & and amp; in this message. In the flashlight values fields all the characters are contiguous.)

Firefox loads only blank new tabs for all web pages, with blank url bar.

After a minor automatic update (16.0.1 --> 16.0.2), firefox is now completely unusable.
Any time I attempt to load a page, it only shows a blank tab labeled 'new tab'.
The url bar for this page will be blank if I try to open it from a link or bookmakrk.
The url bar for this page will be exactly what I typed if I manually typed a url.
Right-clicking the blank pages does nothing: no context menu.
The 'troubleshooting information' page DID load properly though; it's the only page I've been able to display at all so far.
Restarting firefox did not fix the issue.
Restarting firefox in safe mode with addons disabled did NOT fix the issue -- so please don't waste time trying to tell me it's the addons.
Changing network proxy settings did not fix the issue.
There are no connection problems: IE can load pages just fine from the same computer.
I love mah firefox... but now it's dead... please help!

Update: Solved:
Firefox works properly after restarting entire computer.
It's poor form to require computer restarts for minor browser updates... and even poorer to not say so when you do.
(Some of us are running servers in the background that should not be interrupted.)

5800 XM Call buton issue, blank shortcut bar

When I bought the 5800 XM I uploaded my contacts to the phone with PC Suite, then I wanted to use groups to send message, or add a contact when writting a messange, and when I selected a contact, the boxe was checked and the phone went back to the message but with no contact at all...
I could use the contact bar, but when trying to put the shortcut bar, I had only 4 boxes totaly blank, and nothing hapens when I clik on, only the anymation 3D of the box.
And when I was on main menu, when I press green button, nothing hapens, the recent calls doesn't open.
3 problems :
-can not use contact group / contact to send a message
-nothing happens when I press green button
-blank shortcut boxes on main screen.
I have the last updates on the phone.
I tried to uninstall all applications I had installed... unsuccessfull.
I finaly did a reset (holding green, red, and photo button + starting...)
And resetup manually all my contacts
It was ok for 2 weeks.
And today I installed Ndrive and pips_nokia_1_3_SS.
I rebooted the phone, the application works perfectly but I now got the two problems :
-nothing happens when I press green button
-blank shortcut boxes on main screen.
I tried uninstalling pips_nokia_1_3_SS, and i doesn't change anything.
Is there anything to do?

What's your phone current firmware version? If it not the latest version of firmware, try updating it. Most people having a problems with their Nokia 5800 XpressMusic if they are currently using the old firmware version.

I have a blank tool bar that I can not remove.

I have a tool bar that has "Latest Headlines", "Most Visited" and "Getting Started". The rest of the bar is blank as well as a whole blank line beneath that one. How do I get read of the blank line?

That removes the "Latest Headlines", "Most Visited" and "Getting Started" buttons , but not the blank under them. I don't want to remove them, just the blank line.

CC Blank app bar.

Finally got CC to download with the help of John T Smith but now the drop down app menu/ bar shows up blank. I've uninstalled, cleaned, reinstalled, restarted, reinstalled.
It stay blank though. Ideas anyone?
