Blending Images Backgrounds Into Theme Background

Hey. I've used Powerpoint before, and even old versions of Powerpoint have the feature to blend in the background of an image that I've pasted into the slide into the background of my theme. How would I do it in Keynote?

Just drag and drop the picture into the slide. Position it where ever you want the picture (ie. take up the entire background or just a certain area, etc.). Then click on the Graphic tab on the inspector. At the bottom is a scroll bar that allows you to modify the opacity of the picture. You can then fade it out to achieve the style of background you want. Hope this helps.

  • How to change transparent PDF background into white background?

    Hi all, I have some text documents in PDF format and would like to edit it in photoshop CS5, but each time I open them up in photoshop, the background seems to be transparent (tiny grey and white tiles), which is very eye tiring when editing/annotating with a wacom pen, how to fill the background total white? Thanks.

    Ah, easy one. Create a new layer{Layer>New Layer}, then fill it with a color{Edit>Fill}Change content of the fill box to a color of your choosing.
    If you have windows the short cut for filling with foreground is alt-backspace and filling with background is ctrl-backspace. Short cut for fill dialog box is shift-backspace or shift-F5.
    A faster way to create a new layer is to use the icon just to the right of the trashcan at the bottom of the layers panel.
    A bit over winded in directions, but once you learn the shortcuts, it will be a snap to do.

  • Blending an image into a background - hue/saturation grayed out

    Thanks for your help. I am trying to blend an image to a background as is illustrated in this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSehcaWFBVM
    Rather than using the overlay tool, the lady in the video suggests using the ‘hue and saturation’ option to blend the photo with the background. I get all the way to this step, but then the ‘hue and saturation’ option (and pretty much all of the options under image – adjustments are grayed out. The ‘modes’ for both the background and the photo are the same (RGB and 8bit). I have been at this for hours (>4) and I cannot get past this step. I would be extremely grateful for some help as to how I might ‘free up’ the adjustment options and have this photo look similar to that showed in the video.
    Thanks.

    That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
    Additionally I have no idea what you are saying here

  • How do you set an image into the background of a JPanel or JFrame?

    How do you set an image into the background of a JPanel or JFrame?

    Something like this, Ive thrown in an ImageIcon on a
    button too for good measure.
    import java.awt.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class JFrameImage extends JFrame {
    public JFrameImage() {
    Container c    = getContentPane();
    JPanel panel = new JPanel(){
                 public void paintComponent(Graphics g)     {
    ImageIcon img = new
    = new ImageIcon("background.jpg");
                      g.drawImage(img.getImage(), 0, 0, null);
                      super.paintComponent(g);
            panel.setOpaque(false);
    ImageIcon icon = new ImageIcon("onButton.jpg");
    JButton button = new JButton(icon);
    panel.add(button);
    c.add(panel);
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    JFrameImage frame = new JFrameImage();
    frame.setSize(200,200);
    frame.setVisible(true);
    Going totally fancy pants
    ImageIcon bigImage = new ImageIcon(bgImage.getImage().getScaledInstance(getWidth(), getHeight(),Image.SCALE_REPLICATE));
    g.drawImage(bigImage.getImage(), 0, 0, this); Will scale the image to the size of the panel
    whereas
    for (int y = 0; y  < getHeight(); y = y + image.getHeight(null))
    for (int x = 0; x< getWidth(); x = x + image.getWidth(null))
    g.drawImage(image, x, y, this); Will give a tiled effect

  • When I copy an image with a transparent background into an image editing program like Photoshop, I get a black background

    I'm wondering if there's a way to preserve transparency, or even change the color of the background to white.
    I often need to get reference pictures for my artwork, and it is a pain to have to save every image and the black background often makes it difficult to see the image, especially when the image has only black pixels.
    Help?

    You can try to drag the image in a Photoshop window instead.<br />
    If that still doesn't work then you need to save the image and open it in Photoshop.

  • Still images turn to black backgrounds in the exported movie

    I am still using Premiere 2.0. I produced a ca. 25 min project with still images at the beginning and at the end and short videoclips in between. Still images are only ca. 40-50 kB large. When working on it I occasionally got a few problems (e.g. an audio transition across two clips was making Premiere hanging up) but I could easily get around them and successfully preview the project and export it to a folder and directly to a DVD. However, when viewing the movie on TV I found out that almost all (BUT NOT ALL!) the still images had turned into black backgrounds. I have exported the movie as MPEG, more still images were fine but not all of them. I have tried to drastically reduce the number of still images (max 5) but nome of them were fine. I do not have any error message and this problem is driving me crazy! Does anyone have a brilliant idea?
    Last year I bought the new version of Premiere (3.0 I believe, surely not 7.0) but I stopped using it after one week because there was no way to successfully export the project I was working on. I made several videos, always got problems but so far I always found a solution on Premiere forum. Hope this time too!
    Many thanks for the attention

    Try sizing your photos to 1000x750 pixels in size.
    Also, right-click on each photo on the timeline and select Field Options and check the Flicker Removal box.
    These will give you the best quality.
    I am also concerned, however, that you are having technical problems and, especially, that you can not use a newer version of the program.
    I'd recommend you install the latest version of Quicktime and the newest RealTek drivers, as we recommend in our FAQ.

    Also, using my recommended computer maintenance will remove temp files on your computer and make it run like new.

  • Import an image as a canvas background

    I have been trying to import a gif image as a canvas background
    for a web forms application and am having a lot of trouble.
    Hopefully someone can help.
    I am running a SunOS 5.6 server,
    Windows NT client,
    Developer 6.0,
    Forms 6.0
    We have set up the FORMS60_OUTPUT and FORMS60_MAPPING
    variables. There is no trailing / in their defintion and TMPDIR
    is not set. I use the file -> import -> image command to import
    the image. It shows up in the forms builder window, but when
    deployed to the web it shows a broken image icon. The forms
    server is doing something, since a jpeg of my image gets written
    to the directory specified in FORMS60_OUTPUT, it just doesn't
    show up on the form.
    It is my understanding that the image is stored in the fmx . . .
    the online help says:
    "Graphic Objects: A graphic object is a static image (either
    vector or bitmap) that you import from the file system or
    database and use as a static graphical element in your
    application. Graphic objects are often used as background
    pictures. When you save and compile a form module, graphic
    objects are incorporated into the .FMB and .FMX files. You can
    manipulate graphic objects in the Layout Editor as you would
    other objects."
    But just in case I put a copy of the gif into the directory that
    the fmx is in, the directory that the html is in, and the
    directory that the button icons are getting pulled in from
    (these show up fine, by the way.) but none of this seems to work.
    I am at my a loss at this point and don't know what else to do.
    Please help me if you can.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Firefox and other browsers are just front ends that display email pages like any other web page. The actual emails, the settings, storage etc. are all stored and coming from the email provider's end and Firefox just formats and displays them nicely. You may have to go into the settings of the email account to see if the provider has an option to include images as signatures. If the provider hasn't setup an option to insert images as signatures, then it's may not be possible.

  • Insert image or add as background

    Hi,
    I'm new to web design and dreamweaver so please forgive me if this is a silly question.
    Is it best to add images direct into divs or add them as backgrounds?
    Many thanks!
    Jenny

    Depends on your design goals. They are two different approaches with different results.
    Inserting an image makes it inline content in the flow of the page so it occupies space - text and other elements flow around it.
    A background image is removed from the flow of the page content and can have other side-effects e.g. repeat, no repeat.
    If the div dimensions are smaller than the image dimensions then the inline image will expand the div automatically. The background image will simply not be visible outside the div borders.

  • How can I insert a background into a photo?

    I have several still photos I have taken with a green screen backdrop.  I would now like to cut the image and install a background for these shots.  I have imported the pics into iphoto, and now am stalled out as to what program or technology to use.  Any advice would be appreciated!

    You'll need a 3rd party editor that can handle layers:
    Some Image Editors That Support layers:
    Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac - $79
    Rainbow Painter - $30
    Imagerie - $38
    Acorn - $50
    Pixelmator - $60
    Seashore - Free
    GIMP for Mac - Free
    Xee 2.1 - free

  • Keeping image in place while background moves?

    Title may not be the best... I have video I am working on that only uses still images that I move by zooming and such... My background zooms out during the video, and I would like to keep an image placed on the background (some flags for the top of arch) As the background moves my images are not moving with the background and get out of place, and ideas? I'm sure this is a simple one and I know how it is done with a video using motion tracker of course I can't use motion tracker for this one, I also know i can key frame the flags in position but anything easier would be best. Thank you!

    Because your source materials are still images, it may be very easy to composite these elements in a single precomp/nested comp, then move the entire precomp as a whole.
    If none of your elements move until you put position/scale animation on them, you could create the flag+castle composition in Photoshop. That might be the easiest way.
    If you have already created the "zooming" animation on the background layer and want to be sure that other layers animate similarly, you can parent multiple layers to the background (animated) layer. By opening the "Parent" column and linking the child (flag layer) to the parent (background), you'll be able to edit the flag even though it follows the animation of the background.

  • How do I extract a theme background and set it as the desktop background?

    Hi
    I want to have the industrial theme background as the desktop background.

    How do I convert a kth file into a recognisable graphics file?

    If you mean that you want to use the Moroccan background in Pages, yes the same principle applies. the Keynote "package" is simply the Keynote application -- Control-Click on the Keynote icon in the Finder, then choose "Show Package Contents" from the pop-up menu. In the new Finder window that appears, follow the directions as outlined above. Be careful not to move or delete any files in the package.
