BLF/CallPickup/7960

I have set up the BLF/Spped buttons on a 7960 with a 7914. Simple question is will the call pickup work on on the butoons that it is programmed for. I can not seem to get it to work. I can see status change of the phone and I have the correct icon on the phone I just can not seem to push the button for picking up the ringing phone.
Thanks
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Here is the related info :)
BLF Pickup Action
If a line is in the BLF alerting state, the local user can press the associated speed-dial button (BLF Pickup button) to pick up the call. The phone picks up the call on the next available line if the user does not first specify a line. If auto-pickup is enabled for the line, the call connects automatically; otherwise, the call rings on the local phone and the user must manually answer it.
Note Pressing the BLF Pickup button at a time when no BLF alerting indicators are present results in the phone speed dialing the associated directory number.
Unlike the existing BLF feature, BLF Pickup cannot be configured for a call log or directory listing;
***BLF Pickup works on a speed-dial line button only.
These BLF enhancements are supported on the following SCCP phones:
•Cisco Unified IP Phone 7975G
•Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971G-GE
•Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970G
•Cisco Unified IP Phone 7965G
•Cisco Unified IP Phone 7962G

Using Call Pickup Groups with BLF Pickup
The Busy Lamp Field (BLF) Pickup feature adds call pickup capability to BLF SpeedDial buttons. When enabled, this feature alerts a user when a BLF SpeedDial destination gets an incoming call so that the user can pick up the call. Call pickup groups control which phones a user can monitor and access. A call pickup group can now include a hunt pilot to support line group pickup.
An alerting call state makes the BLF Pickup button function available. When the user presses the BLF Pickup button, the phone picks up the call.
•If the monitoring device has multiple lines, the system uses the primary line as the pickup line or the next available line if the primary is not available.
•If the monitored destination is receiving multiple calls, the first call or the higher priority MLPP call gets picked up; any remaining calls continue to trigger the alerting status on the BLF Pickup button.
•If the user at a monitored destination answers the call before call pickup, the BLF Pickup button displays a busy status.
After call pickup, the BLF Pickup button status reverts to the current status for the monitored destination: idle, busy, or DND (when enabled with the "BLF Status Depicts DND" service parameter).
As admnistrator, you must modify the standard line button template to include the BLF SD option for users to invoke the BLF pickup feature. See "Configuring a Customized Phone Button Template for BLF SpeedDial Buttons" in the Presence chapter for more information.
The following phone models are equipped with BLF line buttons and support the BLF pickup feature: Cisco Unified IP Phone 7931, Cisco Unified IP Phone 7941, Cisco Unified IP Phone 7961, Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970, and Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971. The Cisco Unified IP Phone Expansion Module 7914 supports this feature when connected to one of these phone models.

It almost sounds like the Pickup Groups have not been configured.

  • I am trying to locate an HP Photosmart 7960 printer install disk. Any ideas how to get?

    Two questions....
I have an HP Photosmart 7960 printer and we have a new computer. We cannot find the install disk. I called HP and after about 2 hours of "help" was told that they can't support the printer anymore - it's too old. None of the on-line downloads from HP worked.
I have TONS of ink for this printer...
The ink cartridges are 56, 57, 58, and 59. If I cannot locate an install disk it may be worth my purchasing a printer that uses these cartridges. How would I find out what printers are available that use these cartridges?
    This question was solved.

So the basic drivers listed under the link below didnt work?

  • HP 7960 printing problem

Until recently, my HP 7960 was printing just fine.  Then, about half way through the printing process, the pics started turning green.  I've cleaned the cartridges, replaced the cartridges using only new original HP ink cartridges, adjusted the print settings, reverted to the default print settings, and the problem persists.  My OS is Windows Vista, which I've had for 3 years and never had a printing problem with the 7960.  So, I doubt it's the OS.  Someone suggested that I may have clogged nozzles but if so, why the color change only during the last half of the printing process?
Any assistance with this problem is greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

Hi there sarge. Click on the link below to check on your issue. Hope this helps.

What I noticed is that you've been printing an alignment page everytime you take out and put those cartridges back in.
When the alignment page was printed were you able to scan it on the scanner glass?
You can check on the link below on "How to Align the Print cartridges"

  • Hp photosmart 7960 and Vista

I have a brand new HP which came with Windows Vista.  I have a used printer, an hp photosmart 7960.  When I put the installation disc in, a little screen comes up that says "Checking System."  The computer asks me if I really want to install it since it doesn't recognize it and it might cause problems.  I tell it to install anyway.  Howevere, the "Checking System" disc goes nowhere.  The 0% stays at 0%.  The directions that came with the printer say to disable the virus protector before installing program.  I spent all afternoon trying to install--with and without the virus protection disabled.  Is the photosmart 7960 not compatible with Vista?  Or am I missing something?  I am not particfularly computer literate, so if you have suggestions,  please be clear and simple.

Unplug the USB cable from the printer to the computer if you have installed it, then download the driver from HP's website here.  Start with the basic driver.  After the install is complete download and install the update from the same link.

  • Sharing Photosmart 7960 from Windows 7 to XP

    Hello,
I have a Photosmart 7960 connected to a Windows 7 x86 PC. I would like to share it with an XP computer, but I cannot locate an installable driver on for the Windows 7 computer that can be downloaded to the XP machine at installation time. Can anyone tell me how to share this printer from Windows 7 to XP?
    Thanks,
    Larry

    campus56,
End of extended support for Windows 7 is January 14, 2020. Regarding your second question, all X230 models come with anti-glare screens. Hope this helps.

  • Driver?  Networking Photosmart 7960

    Hi,
I have an HP Photosmart 7960 connected to a Netgear wireless print server. I am trying to set up the printer to work from my G4. I had no problems setting up my Laserjet on another port on this print server. But, when I try to find a compatible driver using the Mac printer setup tools, there are none listed for this printer. I tried to install the HP software, but the driver still does not appear in the list. I have searched the forum, and this issue seems to be common. However, I have not found a thread that contains a solution. BTW - the printer installs fine if I direct connect it the G4. Any help is much appreciated.

    Hmm...
Network printing/Windows printing only works with a driver that was meant for network printing. To use the OS X built-in CUPS network choices, you need a CUPS driver. For postscript printers, it's not an issue, because postscript is the native output of OS X, and can easily be routed to the various choices in Printer Setup.
Non-postscript printers are Very Different. Except for Brother, no manufacturer has provided CUPS drivers. Instead, what you get is Carbonized, OS9 legacy drivers, that have the comm protocol written into the driver (mostly USB). You can only print via the comm type written into the driver.
**Exception - when printing via an Airport/Bonjour enabled print server, where the software does a port redirection, USB output from the Mac gets routed to the USB port on Airport Express/Extreme.
Get the hpijs and ESP ghostscript driver set:
    http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/
(I'm pretty sure I said the same stuff in those links - I know this is hard to swallow, but you needn't listen to me only - further research about OS X and CUPS will help you understand this driver limitation)

  • USB Cable problem with HP Photosmart 7960 printer

This may sound like a stupid question but I just bought a new 7960 printer to replace my old 7960 which has two out of the three ink cartridge holders broken and the usb port on the new printer won't accept a usb cable. It appears to be blocked by a cap insert over the connector prongs which will not come out. Any suggestions?

Here is a link with some troubleshooting steps that may help to solve the issue you are having with your printer:

Paper feed problems are a hardware issue, if none of these steps help I would recommend contacting HP for upgrade options. I have included a link with directions for contacting HP:

  • CME 10 cannot attended transfer with BLF button

    Good morning!
I'm having an issue with a client's CME in which they can no longer do an attended transfer using BLF speed dial buttons.  Yesterday morning, their CME router was rebooted for unrelated reasons.  Prior to this reboot, attended transfers could be done using BLF buttons but NOT by dialing the number.  After the reboot this has reversed so you can do an attended transfer when you dial but if you hit the BLF button it automatically performs a blind transfer.
The client has stated that if they have to have one or the other they'd like it to go back to the way it was working prior to yesterday morning as the receptionist has everyone in the organization on BLF buttons on a side car and most transfers need to be attended rather than blind.  I have tested with other phones and confirmed its organization wide and not just on his phone.

  • SLOW printing with HP PhotoSmart 7960

If this has already been addressed in another thread, please someone point me there, but:
Problem is that suddenly my HP PhotoSmart 7960 has started to take 1/2 hour to print a simple single page of text. I'm using OS X 10.3.9, by the way.
Tried updating the drivers from HP - no good. Tried Repair Permissions - no good.
Can someone out there tell me how to completely remove any trace of HP software / drivers from the hard drive? Is there a print queue or memory buffer that needs to be purged? Figured I'd re-install the original drivers if I could completely remove any trace of a printer or print job having previously existed.
Spent more than a few frustrating hours on this - any help is appreciated!

1-2 minutes! Try 10-15 minutes on my Photosmart. These things are junk. I have discussed my many issues with phone support 10-12 times in the last six months with no progress.

  • HP Photosmart 7960 Not Shown in Print Drivers

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a MacBook Pro last Monday. I have a lot to learn having come from a PC background. I have an HP Photosmart 7960 printer hard-wired to a desktop PC running Windows XP. I use a wireless network with a Linksys router for a laptop PC also running Windows XP that shares that printer. I am trying to get my new Mac to share that printer wirelessly as well. It can find the printer on my network and then asks me to choose a printer driver from the drop-down list. The HP Photosmart 7900 series is not in the drop-down list even thought that driver is supposed to be part of the Leopard 10.5.8 OS without downloading from HP. As a matter of fact HP doesn't even offer that driver up to download because it already comes on the operating system. I picked one at random (HP Photosmart 7550 Gutenprint 5.1.3) and it will print, but that can't be the right way to go in the long run. I've been back to the Apple Store where I bought the laptop and they don't know what to tell me to do. I'm hoping someone has solved this issue so I can enjoy my new Mac.

Hi! There are 4 7900 series drivers included in Leopard however at installation not all of them may have been chosen. I think you will have to use the install disc to install the additional drivers if they weren't installed originally.
    List of drivers HERE. Tom
    From Apple:
    Installing printer drivers
All included printer drivers are installed by default with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. If you custom install, you can select which printer driver packages you would like installed. The Apple LaserWriter PPDs and sample drivers included with CUPS are installed as part of the Essential System Software package and cannot be customized or installed separately from Mac OS X.
If you would like to install any of the optional printer drivers after installing Mac OS X, insert the Install disc into your computer and use Optional Installs.

The 7960 ip phone seems not to connect to the call manager express
router and i have already put the firmware and configured the tftp
server, the rest of the phones the 7911`s are all working ok,i have tried
to reset the phone but it doesnt respond to the # key so as to reset to
    factory defaults.
I have tried all the options of resetting it but to no avail.
could someone give me some techie tips on this ? could it be a hardware issue ?? please assist.

Go to the phone and check if the TFTP server is correct (should be the CME IP address). Also check the DHCP address.
