Blink Blink Pause Flashing Red Light, Autoloader failed/blocked for this Device Z10.

Hello Everyone, Yesterday i began having issues with my z10. I had just updated to the recent OS and 5 minutes after turning on my z10 none of my apps would open (they would simply launch than close right away). I read a few CB forum posts and apparently this was a fairly common issue solved by performing a factory reset. So I connected my z10 to link and although the device was detected under "devices" the window read: "Can't communicate with device [Reconnect] or [Reload]" As suggested I took the reload option and a security wipe started. Sometime during the wipe something happened and the device stopped wiping and reloading. Now the device booted up displaying the error message "www.bberror.com/bb10-0015". I followed this error message to the KB and read through the steps to resolve. Again the suggestion was reloading the device. I attempted to power off the device as suggested (although it would simply boot back up to the bberror screen), and reload the device. I tried through the devices window and than through the preferences window (usually whats used when the device won't detect). Neither worked and I got "An error has occurred while updating your device's software. Unspecified error encountered [A:0x000000A2] ". So googling the error message I no longer found official blackberry help and went to forum solutions which suggested I download an use the autoloader command line.
https://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-10-OS-Device-Software/Upgrading-OS10-devices-using-Autoloader/td-p/2466747 I attempted to download the file although it was being bottle necked by the server and going painfully slow. So a quick google search found an official BB site with autoloaders:http://developer.blackberry.com/blackberry10devalpha/allautoloaders.html I downloaded the most recent stable one (10.3.1) and after a few hours was ready to start. I tried again to power off the device (no luck - just reboots and says error message), and then plugged it into my PC. At first the autoloader just kept saying connecting to bootrom for about an hour so i closed it and removed the battery from the device.I launched the autoloader again and when "connecting to bootrom" came up I plugged in the device USB. A bunch of USB port "in" and "out" noises occured and the autoloader when to work. My device no longer displayed the error message and LED was a solid green. When the autoloader finished I managed to capture a screenshot of it saying "OS blocked". The device than began the flashing pattern "Blink, Blink, Pause" then the cycle begins again. I figured I'd try it again and did so about 8 times - battery in, battery out, different USB ports, different computers, different usb cables. still no luck. So I left it charging as someone suggested on another forum post for about 6hrs in hopes of something happening.nothing. I am now sitting on a bricked device with the Blink Blink pause flashing cycle and am not sure what my next moves are. Thank you for taking the time to read my issues and I would greatly appreciate ANY suggestions you might have to revive my z10 ! [img]http://i.imgur.com/CJbkxnT.png[/img]

Never never never use those. Those are, as the link says, for developers...which means they are typically crippled one way or another. They are official only for developers, not ever for end users. Instead, clever users have created AutoLoaders from the fully functioning BB code...here is a useful archive:http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-leaked-beta-os-f395/bb10-os-archive-943672/Give it another try. Also...smoez1 wrote:

So, if you were on 10.3.2, you cannot go back, and must use only a 10.3.2 AutoLoader. Good luck!

  • Flashing Red Light Quit Working

My flashing red light on the front of my 8350i has stopped working.  You know, the one to notify you you've missed a call or have an unread email, etc.  I've only had it about 2 weeks & was working fine until Friday.  It quit working so I took the battery out & put it back in - nothing. Tried again on Saturday morning when it still wasn't working & it started working again...for a while.  Now it's not working again.  Haven't called tech support yet - anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have set in the Profiles for your active profile "LED notifications" to ON?
Does your signal coverage indicator blink green? Options > Screen/keyboard.

  • Bold 9930 - dead and flashing red light

Bold - Verizon 9930, died with flashing red light, non-responsive. Can connect wtih loader, re-loading latest OS for Verizon (7.1.0_rel1737_PL5.1.0.429_A7.1.0.580_Verizon_Wireless) Load fails with "application loader was unable to connect with your device" when it tries to connect with the JVM. I have tried:- fully charged known good battery (tested in another 9930)- wiping device- start without battery, insert battery when JVM message comes up- both BB desktop and Loader directly- two different PCs (no change)- different USB ports- older version of BB OS for device- many, many iterations... All end with "application loader was unable to connect with your device" Is the device scrap?  If so why?  It's not even 2 years old, out of warranty, and apparently now totally worthless.  This one is the CEO's Blackberry, and he's not happy...  If I can't resolve this, it will be the very last BB to ever see the inside of our company.  This is the second 9930 to die this way in the last 4 weeks.

    Hello,
    Firstly...

Does RIM care about these failure issues at all I wonder?
If you were hoping for a response from RIM, you have misunderstood the purpose of these forums. These are not a channel for any communications with, support from, nor escalation to RIM for anything. Rather, these are a user-to-user community of volunteers trying to help each other out amidst their own busy lives. So patience perhaps would be a good thing to have...
Nevertheless, please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
While you've already validated that your battery is good, I don't think you've tried the first part of this test:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
While perhaps redundant to what you've already attempted, here are a few more things to try:
KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
Since you are out of warranty, your next step I suppose would be to seek in-hand support from a qualified technician to give you a proper diagnosis. Doing such at this internet distance is quite a challenge and therefore cannot replace in-hand evaluation and diagnosis.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Large outside Junction/Control box has flashing red light - bad or normal?

There is a Verizon outside box that is large with a flashing red light on its side.  It appears to be a junction or control box mounted on the ground.  It has been there for years and I do not remember seeing a flashing red light until now.  Plus, my DSL connection has been dropping recently.  Can a tech rep from Verizon High Speed Internet answer?  Thank you for yur patience.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

These boxes are called Remote Terminals, and yes it is for DSL.  The flashing light probably means that the battery backup has failed, so it shouldn't really affect your DSL unless your power goes out.  And even then, the battery backup is only to power the voice line to make calls.
I would call 1-800-VERIZON and choose the option about "repair."  I've had luck with getting poles replaced/repaired that way.  Say that there's a flashing red light on the remote terminal, give the street address, and also give the central office you're out of (IE, your area code and first 3 digits of your phone number should tell the rep where you are).  Also, stop by it and see if you can find any writing/markings on that, and tell them that too.  Be as specific as possible.  Make sure you get a ticket number from them, and make sure they have a call back number.
There was a tree laying on a wire near me, and I made sure I got a repair ticket; the next day a tech called me to say he was headed out that way and asked specific details about the location, what was wrong, etc.   A few days later the tree was gone.

  • My Curve won't turn on and no sign of flashing red light

    Hi!
I m all new to this blackberry forum thing....anyway i have a blackberry curve and all of a sudden yesterday it just stopped working. when i looked at the phone the screen was all white so i took out the battery and put it back on thinking that it will come back up but it didnt. Then i took the battery out again and plugged it to the USB(without the battery) because ususally it comes back up, but it still didnt. i put the battery again and plugged it to the USB thinking that it needs to charge but still no since of that flashing red light. I took the battery out and put my friends battery (cos he has a curve too) but still it didnt work. I did try holding down the power (red)button still not back on.
I just dont understand whats wrong with it, its not like i dropped it in the water or dropped it on the floor. I didnt do anything to it. It just stopped working.
Im really frustrated right now...I just dont know what to do..i hope someone can help me
    THanks!

I finally got my curve to work.  I just left it on the charger for a while and then it powered up. It seems if its a little low on power and I don't charge it relatively soon it shuts down and won't power up for awhile. I've also updated the software and cleaned out the junk files. It seems to be working fine now, go figure.

  • Flashing red light on my ACS 4.1

Hello, I have a flashing red light on my ACS. I have searched on Cisco.com to see what this meant and how I can fix it. I am aware that it is a critical error on the system health for my ACS. But what exactly does that mean? How can I figure out what is the problem before it becomes a big issue. Any help is well appreciated! Thanks!!

  • 8800 upgrade attempt lost usage and flashing red light. No response.

Thought I'd upgrade from 4.5.011 to 4.5.018, at the suggestion of the desktop manager. Things were okay until it stopped. Fatal error message, flashing red light...nothing else. Attempted again, and again. Gentleman at BB store did the same thing. He thinks it's unrecoverable.
I've tried an overnight battery pull, apploader attempt through C and D drives, Problems with applications and software (exe v axl...) Other ideas?

I've tried it 3 times. The program erases the application and then begins loading, which gets about 20% of the way and then stops. Message is communications failure A:0x0000000E. And the red light, which was out while the process was running, comes back on. 2 flashes, stop, 2 repeat.
Point of info. The screen never came on during the erase.
    I will keep trying...thanks.

  • My ipod shuffle 2nd gen suddenly stops playing music after 15-20 mins.First it flashes green light and then flashes red light rapidly. Any solution to this ?

My ipod shuffle 2nd gen suddenly stops playing music after 15-20 mins.First it flashes green light and then flashes red light rapidly. Any solution to this ?

A 2nd gen shuffle is about six year old at this point.  The likely cause is a battery that is worn out, with greatly reduced capacity or inability to hold a charge.  The initial green light shows a good charge.  The red light means the battery is drained.
Since the shuffle still appears in iTunes, you can try doing a Restore in case the cause is related to corrupted software on the shuffle.  The Restore button is on the shuffle's Settings screen in iTunes.  This will erase the shuffle, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.
Also, when the light becomes red and the shuffle stops playing, try turning OFF the shuffle for at least ten seconds.  Then, turn it back ON.  This resets the shuffle.  Does it play again?  If it does, let it play until it no longer plays again.  Repeat turning it OFF and ON until it no longer plays.  Then, connect it to power and charge it to full.  See if that makes any difference.
If that does not help, the solution is to replace the battery.  If you have a repair shop do it, the cost is probably uneconomical, compared to the cost of a brand new 4th gen shuffle ($50) that has more features, and a new set of headphones, plus a one-year warranty.
If you are good at such things, this web site has repair guides

  • Flash lite 3.1 not available for windows device?

Hi! Can anybody help me here?
I've been developing stand alone flash apps for windows mobiles with flash lite 2.1 with no problems!
The company I'm developing for has switched to Vodafone V1520's (Asus p550) running windows mobile 6 Professional.
I've ran flash lite 2.1 with no problems on the device. I've decided to upgrade to 3.1 as it's a fresh install for all 2000 units.
My problem is, When I install the app using Adobe mobile packager, the device comes back with the error " Adobe flash lite is not available for this device"!! I know flash lite 2.1 works.
Is there a way to manually install 3.1 on the device?

You can download the player at the following URL:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/distributableplayer.html
Please be aware that you need to use the Mobile Packager to use this version of the runtime for applications.  It's also worth pointing out that your device should be compatible, we do not recommend installing it on unsupported devices.
We have a new version of the packager 1.1 here:

  • Black screen and flashing red light

A couple of days ago my bb torch 9860 suddenly turned off and when I turned it on the battery was completely drained.
I took it home and hooked it up to a charger. After 8 hours the battery was still charging. Upon removel the BB would display a battery drained message within 2 minutes. This was weird since the BB was about 3 months old. I decided to get a new battery. This didn't solve the problem. The store where I bought the battery told me that there was a problem concerning re-calibration. However they were unable to perform that fix. I took the BB home and decided to try something myself.I followed the steps of this web page: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-bold-9000-f83/how-re-calibrate-blackberry-battery-643307/, but that unfortunatly made my problem worse. All my BB torch does now is flash the red light every once in a while with battery and the power cable in. When i remove the battery once in a while i get a screen displaying an empty battery with a red cross in it. Please help me, i tried to connect to the computer and reinstall BB device software and it fails. I have no clue what to do. Maybe someone can help me send the BB to a Blackberry factory, I have no clue how to do that.
    Thanks in advance!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Given what you describe, it's likely that your BB has a physical defect. The only way to seek warranty hardware level support is via the reseller from which you purchased it...they are 100% responsible for all of your hardware and warranty support. They can arrange to have it sent to the factory if that is what is required.
    Good luck!

  • Z1 compact wont turn on, three vibrations, flashing red light

phone wont turn on, tried the red button off button, tried the power and volume button, when in charge it keeps vibrating 3 times and flashing a red light, what can I do?

I had same problem too. It was about some water that got into my phone's inside even though every covers were thoroughly closed. What I was doing that opened every covers and taken out all of cards (MicroSD and Sim), then I left it to dry out in windy place nearly to my window. I had waited for few hours while it was completely drying out... but it still wasn't working, then I had blown strongly into to the openings in 3-4 times and finally it's turned on and working now as it was working.
