Blinking Cursor when user is sharing application

Hello all!
I hope somone has run across this and can help me out.  When ever the host of a meeting has a user share an appliaction from their screen (word, excel, IE, etc..) their cursor constanly blinks.  This isn't noticable to anyone in the meeting except the user that is sharing the application.
This can range from a small barley noticable blink to where is my mouse hiding kinda blink.  This tends to be worse for people outside the office that are sharing an application.
Is there a way to stop this?  It almost seems like the blinking is a refresh of some sort.
Info:
We are using Adobe Connect Add-in Version: WIn 9,1,268,0
Connect Pro version: connect_700_r712
Users and host are running XP machines.
Connect box is hosted by us at our office.  I tested with the user host being at the office where the Connect box is.
Thanks!

What if you manually do a Get-AppvPublishingServer | Sync-AppvPublishingServer
as the user after waiting for 10 minutes?  You will need to take into account how long it takes for AD to sync out the removal from the group as well.
This is definitely not normal behavior, but several things contribute to how this works.  Make sure that the publishing server settings are set properly, including the Global / User refresh on logon and the intervals.
See this post about publishing refresh settings on the server.  You can adjust the publishing server refresh
to test as well:

  • Blinking cursor when installing Windows 7 on a MacBook Air (Late 2010)

    Hi.
After spending several days trying to solve this, I turn to this forum.
I have a MacBook Pro Retina (Mid 2012) and I had no problem installing W7 on that machine.
My wife has a MacBook Air (Late 2010), on which I am trying to do the same.
I use an external LaCie BD/DVD reader/writer, which I also used for the MBP without problems.
After partitioning and restarting, the install DVD doesn't seem to want to work with the MBA, though. Only a blinking cursor appears. Occationally some message like "Error code 5" or BOOTMGR image is corrupt. The system cannot boot."
I've tried starting with Alt, and when the screen appears where I can choose the Install DVD, there is no HD image, as on the MBP in the same situation, but just an image of a disk under which is written "EFI boot" - and it keeps poofing, appearing, poofing appearing. Actually, the first of these poofing images is actually called Windows, but choosing this returns the same blinking cursor.
I have tried resetting the PRAM and SMC, as well as repairing the disk.
Any ideas how to solve this?
    Best,
    Richard

Can I install Window 7 Professional on a boot camp partition on my 1.8/2GB/64GB SSD MBA?
Today I installed Win7 Preimum on my brand new MBA (1.8/4GB/128GB SSD).  I started with a stock MBA and first installed the new version of Parallels (7).  After that installation, I installed Win7 Premium, followed by MS Office for Students and MS Streets and Trips.  I should note that I also added slightly over 500 tunes for iTunes.
I was hoping to only install Excel and Word, but I never saw an option to go custom and as a result, all of Office for Students got installed.
With Parallels I didn't have to partition the hard drive. While I'm not totally sure, I think Parallels "grabs" empty space as needed, either for OS-X or Windows.
When I finished the installation, the computer reports that I still have 87GB.
I would assume if you went the route above and installed all the same programs, you would end up with 43GB of free space.
I intend to use my MBA as a road warrior, mainly surfing with some light Excel/Word.  Unless you really need the Professional version, you might consider just installing the Premium version if the size of the program is much larger.
I've only been running for a few hours, but the machine seems very robust in both OS-X and Win7.  Re the size of your hard drive, you might consider picking up a small external hard drive.  I have a Western Digital Passport that is about the size of a cigarette pack and has the look of something that Apple might have made. 500GB for about $70.
I'm wondering if your 2GB of RAM might be a little on the weak side for going this route?

  • Blink cursor when create timer

    Hi all.
I create timer in form9iDS when open a stacked canvase,
When the mouse is over this canvase the cursor blink until delete timer.
    please help me.
    thanks.

    Hi!
    May try the following:
Create for example a parameter or a package variable of type number with initial value 0 in your form.
In your when-new-form-instance trigger create a repeating timer lets say ticking every 20 seconds.
In your pre-item/post-item and may a when-mouse-click trigger set the variable back to 0.
In your when-timer-expired trigger, add 20 to your above created number variable
and if your timeout is reached, what means for example the variable is above 100, clear the form.
btw: everytime you create a timer, first check if it is already there.
    DECLARE
    timer_id Timer := find_timer ( 'emp_timer' );
    BEGIN
    if
      id_null ( timer_id )
    then
      timer_id := CREATE_TIMER ('emp_timer', 10000, REPEAT);
    end if;
    END;Regards

  • Blinking Cursor in Table Cell

Can anybody tell me how I can blink the Cursor in the JTable. I am using JTable Cell as the user input field, I want to show a blinking cursor if user selects that cell.
    Thanks in adv

Are your table cells editable? Are you talking about the Cursor in the TextField when your cell is edited? It is probably best to be as explicit as possible here.

  • Can I hide the cursor when screen sharing?

I'd like to hide the cursor on the screen share device. Is that possible?

You want to hide your cursor when sharing your screen?
You could always hide the cursor in a corner of your monitor and then use keyboard commands to navigate your application, or, if you have second screen, leave your mouse cursor on the non-shared screen.
There is no method of omitting your cursor from your screen share, as that is part of sharing your screen. There is the option to show the 'application' cursor, instead of the Connect Presenter cursor.

  • Projects dropped from shared services when creating an essbase application

When we try to create an essbase application via EAS - there is an error message Unable to createExternalUser. then when we log in to shared services - there are no projects available.
    This is for version 9.3.1.0

    Hi Cameron,
    many thanks for your answer.
Well let me explain a little bit further:
I created an own security module which manages the whole security in Essbase. I get the grants from a corporate system and then just apply them by some definitions natively in Essbase using filters etc.
To make sure the grants on the server are exactly the same as the grants that get delivered to me, I export the complete security in Essbase using MaxL and import it to a relational DB. I then check whether there are any grants which shouldn't be there and vice versa.
If now an admin user creates an application, he gets an additional application manager grant for this application. He does not loose his admin permissions.
Now in my check this application manager grant pops up as this grant is not in the corporate system but created Essbase internally when a application is created.
If I export the complete security this application manager grant is there.
I would like to get rid of these errors in my check. Also it makes no sense that an admin user gets an Application Manager grant because he already has that permission as an admin user.
I already searched the documentations but didn't find a setting to disable this behaviour of Essbase.
    Btw. Essbase version is 11.1.1.3.
Maybe someone of you guys know if there is any chance to do this - if not, I have to find another solution.
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Thomas

  • Shared applications among user profiles?

My wife and I have separate user profiles for our home computer. When I upload photos she can not access them from iPhoto unless she is logged in to my profile. The same is true for me if she uploads photos.
Is there a way for us to have a universal or shared applications (at this time, specifically iPhoto) across multiple profiles?

    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc. The problem here is that OS X works very hard to keep your data safe and secure from the other users. You're trying to beat what's built in to the system. So, to beat the system
    Quit iPhoto in both accounts
Move the iPhoto Library Folder to an external HD set to ignore permissions. You could also use a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.
In each account in turn: Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting dialogue, select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new library location. From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
Lastly: This method seems a little clunky at first, but works very well. Most importantly, it uses the System to do the job for you.
Create a new Account on your Mac, call it Media. Create an iPhoto Library there. (BTW: This will work for iTunes too.)
Enable Sharing on the Library:(Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other accounts. In those accounts, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. The Library will appear in the other source pane.
This means that both users will be able to see the pics. If you want to use a pic then simply drag it from the shared Library to your own in the iPhoto Window. This means that each user can have their own edits.
If you want to add photos to the Library: Log into the Media account for that purpose.
To make it all seamless: Set your Mac to log into the Media Account automatically. Set iPhoto to launch on log-in. Then switch to your own account using Fast User Switching.
Net result: a Library that's permanently available to all users but also protected. Each user can have their own versions of the pics if they want.
No partitioning, no permissions issues. Uses no extra disk space. What's not to like?

  • Sharing applications between users on the same machine

I am new to the world of MAc OSX, I bought my mac to run a specific application, No problem there, However that application needs to be accessed via multiple users on the same machine. So far I have created the user logons, But each user gets a new iteration of the same application. How can I make one copy of the application together with all its data base files accesible my other users, Also when the user that owns the application logs off...the application is terminated... I have set up fast switching...as a work around so the application will stay up, but Other users cant see it...Help please

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
However that application needs to be accessed via multiple users on the same machine.
If the app is in the HD/Applications folder, all users can access it and use it. Then it doesn't matter of the other users are logged on or off. It's not a different iteration, there is no duplication.
To share the data: as Kappy says, put it in the Users/Shared folder. Each user can see into another user's Shared Folder.
Here's a question: if each user has to use the same app plus the same data, why have different accounts? The whole point of different accounts is to keep data separate?

    Abhishek Madan

    Hi Abhishek,
According to your description, my understanding is that the User Profile Synchronization service stuck on ‘Starting’ or ‘Stopping’.
Please check whether you installed SQL 2012 Native Client (Pre-requisites) on SharePoint server. If yes, download and install SQL 2008 R2 Native Client from the below location:
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/1/3/9138773A-505D-43E2-AC08-9A77E1E0490B/1033/x64/sqlncli.msi
From the SharePoint server ->control panel -> add/Remove programs , please confirm that the SQL 2008 Native Client is listed.
Make sure that the farm account is a member of the Administrators group on the server on which you are trying to start the User Profile Synchronization service, then restart the SharePoint Timer Service.
Set the FIM services to "Local System" before starting the service.
There is a troubleshooting for User Profile Synchronization Service start issues, please have a look at:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg750257(v=office.14).aspx
Here are some similar posts for you to take a look at:

  • Grant the Essbase application permission to user in Shared Services

    Hi,
We got a problem in granting the Essbase permission to user using Shared Services. We are using Hyperion 9.3.1.
    (1) We created an Essbase application + database through Essbase Administration Console, say TBC.Sales.
    (2) Provision the Essbase "Server Access" + Essbase Application "Read" roles to a user.
    (3) In Essbase Admin Console, we "Refresh Security from Shared Services".
However, the user still cannot see the Essbase Database in SmartView. Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

The problem is fixed with Essbase 9.3.1.3.0.5.

  • Dynpro application: how to perform some  code when user click window close

    Hello,
I'm developing dynpro application. This application needs to perform some code when exiting.
I can do that with MODULE xxxxx AT EXIT-COMMAND. But this code can't be performed when user of application click on button closing window (classic R/3 window, not pop-up).
Does anybody know how to bind some code to clicking on button closing window?
    Best regards,
    Josef Motl

As far as the prompt that you get when you close the last window is coming from the counter that SAP maintains regarding the number of open sessions(windows). When this counter reaches 1, I guess they have a check to issue a prompt. There was a discussion in this forum a long time back regarding how we can know that session id like SM04. There was no conclusion reached then. Theoritically, let us know you know this id for the session in which the user opened a particular page, then you can see if that session is deleted and then take the necessary action. There are some TH_* function modules that seem to be promising, but I was not able to conclusively achieve the control over a particular session.
See if you can look at SM04 and get an idea. Please do let us know if you find the solution.

  • How sharepoint understand when user requests for web applications by their DNS names

    HI
I configured Alternate access mapping in my sharepoint farm for default ,intranet zones
and spt farm has two web front end servers and they load balancing by F5 device
in WFE servers there are different web applications are running on different ports
so here I want to know how load balancing works, load balancing configured in F5 device.
when users request a webapplication from browser (ex http://cms) where this request will go
    1)when I ping cms and other web applicaations  it returns me a loadbalancer  server IP  for all web applications;
ping cms : it returns 10.xxx.0.80 , same ip returns when I ping for other web app
but ex CMS web application run on the 10.xxx.1.26:81 port in sharepoint server
    2) and these sharepoint web applications running on different ports in sharepoint  web servers , so here  how sharepoint understand when user requests for web applications by their DNS names
    http://cms and http://products  etc
    adil

I'm not sure if the F5 can add a port number (I'm not an expert on load balancers).  But in general if you design the SharePoint site to run on port 81 then you need to have port 81 appended to the request or it won't work.  http://cms in your
example would take you to http://cms:80 not http://cms:81.  But in general DNS will resolve the address back to the F5 load balancer.  The load balancer will look at the header of the HTTP request (which contains the original address you requested)
and forward the request to the appropriate web front end IP address.  If your web front end is using one IP address for multiple sites then those sites need to be differntiated by using a custom port like 81 (which must be included in the original request)
or because a host header was bound to the web application when it was created.  If they are running on different port numbers then the request must include the port number by the time it gets to the SharePoint server.

  • Store data when user exits from web application

is there anyway to call a method when user closes browser and session finish
    thank you

I usually just use a HttpSessionListener.
    What's the difference?Lots ......
    This is from javadoc
    public interface HttpSessionListener
Implementations of this interface are notified of changes to the list of active sessions in a web application.
The implementation class would be invoked and in its methods, could process any action on session creation/termination
    public interface HttpSessionBindingListener
Causes an object to be notified when it is bound to or unbound from a session. The object is notified by an HttpSessionBindingEvent object. This may be as a result of a servlet programmer explicitly unbinding an attribute from a session, due to a session being invalidated, or due to a session timing out.
The implementation class would usually be a bean. The bean thus has control to take any action it deems fit when its bound to a session or when its unbound from the session.
Depending on the requirements, you could implement either of the two interfaces.
    Thanks,
    Ram.
