Blinking Orange Charger Light when Charging L855-S5405

I have a Toshiba Satellite Laptop L855-S5405 that I bought in Oct 2013 and I replaced the battery around a week ago since it does not stay charged for last very long and the PC Health Monitor said that the battery health was poor. I also replaced the AC Adapter since it would only work if it was held a certain way. When I charge my laptop now, the charging light sometimes blinks in a pattern of 7-8 times then stops but it happens at random, it's not like it blinks 7-8 times then stops then starts blinking again immediately. When the blinking occurs, my laptop stops charging but begins charging again after it stops. I have my laptop on and working when it is charging and it does not really affect anything as far as I can tell but I would still like to know what this pattern means so I can fix it.I have tried uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery then reinstalling it like I have seen in other forums but that does not work and turning off my laptop and unplugging the AC Adapter and taking out the battery then holding power button for 30 seconds then putting everything back in does not work as well. I cannot seem to find anything similar to the problem I have whenever I look online or at the forum from what I have seen so any help would be appreciated.

Is none of these suggestions work, it likely requires servicing unfortunately:

  • DV6-7010us won't turn on. Light by charger port blinks orange 3 times when power button is pressed.

I took this laptop to a local computer store to try a new charger, but it still didnt turn on. I did the "hard reset" and tried to start with AC power and no battery but that also did not work. Is it possible that the battery is bad? I have searched and can not find another instance that describes exactly  what I'm experiencing.  The caps lock and other LED do not blink, only the light by the charger and it blinks orange 3 times.

It looks like the Notebook doesn't Power ON even with a known good Power Adapter this confirms the Hardware
fault with System Board or the DC Power Circuit of the Notebook

  • Orange flashing light when I put iPod (2nd generation) in dock

I have set iTunes so that it won't start up when I put the iPod in the dock. I thought I could just charge up my iPod without having iTunes open, but when I put the iPod in the dock it just flashes the orange light and I don't think it's charging. The only way it'll be a solid orange light is if I open iTunes and have it "detect" the iPod and then it charges. Or maybe I'm wrong - is it charging when the orange light flashes? I'm confused. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I'm having a similar problem but I don't think my
shuffle is charging. I can't ever get the orange
light to be steady no matter the setting. Sometimes
it is blinking orange and other times there isn't a
light at all. I left it in the dock for about 8 hours
today. Once I disconnected it and turned it on the
light was Red and it only lasted about an hour. I
just bought this 2 days ago...any ideas?
IF the status LED is NOT lit when your Shuffle is
in the dock and the dock is connected to a USB port,
it CAN'T charge because the connection doesn't carry sufficient power.
Make sure the Shuffle is firmly seated in the dock AND
the USB connector is firmly in a high-power (500MA) USB port AND the computer is NOT asleep. Orange LED (so;id or flashing) indicates a good connection and that it's charging.

  • Just a SIMPLE query: No blinking/pausing white light when asleep?

    Hello all.
Just got my new Intel iMac, very cool. I've set the mac to Display Sleep only and no HD sleep, when the screen goes black, there is no blinking white light at the lower right corner of the iMac, unlike my 1st gen G5 version.
How would I know then for sure, that my iMac is asleep and not shut down?
    Thanks and cheers

It would have been nice, if the black Apple for example would glow slightly, but no. There is no way of knowing it, other than pressing some key on keyboard. If it wakes up... Oops, it was sleeping. If it doesn't, then it is shut down (or otherwise unwilling to co-operate with you).
I wonder, if this really is some environmental issue. Powering off your computer uses less electricity? If so, that is good, because climate change has struck again: Another christmas in a row without snow here in southern Finland...

  • HT1814 My ipod shuffle 1st generation is not detecting in itunes application, It blinks orange colour continuously  when i connect to computer.  Kindly suggest me.

Not dettecting in itunes application.  In front panel orange light blinks continously.  I am using windows 7 32 bit.   Kindly suggest a solution.

Open iTunes and then plug in the device. Try the back switch in the "off" position. Then windows should install necessary device drivers, then iTunes should take over.

  • My AE just keep blinking orange even after factory reset. Does this means the thing is pass its useful life,

My AE just keep blinking orange even after several resets. Ths thing is about 4 years old. Is it pass its usefullife?

Actually, a flashing amber (blinking orange) status light is normal for just after performing a reset. It just indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:
The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.

If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation.

  • Blinking orange light while charging, done or not done

iPod shuffle 4th gen, using as hard drive too -- manual says it's either full or still blinking. Is there no way to know from the sync page? Maybe am repeating question already answered. If so, sorry, & thanks.

    Hello Arlene,
Here is an article with more information about the blinking orange light on the iPod Shuffle 3th Gen.

  • Macbook Pro late 2011 not powering on. The charger shows a blinking dim orange/green light.

Macbook Pro late 2011 not powering on. The charger shows a blinking dim orange/green light. I have tried pressing the small button on the side of the macbook pro to check the battery, but no lights show up.

    Hey Angelo_here,
    I'd run through these steps:
If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Note: See Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.

My MacBook Pro has a faint blinking orange light on the charger but won't turn on, I've tried many different things to restart it but nothing works

The battery's probably drained and the power brick on the fritz. Unfortunately, if she won't start there's little we can do for software-based diagnosis. You'll have to take it in to a Store or Service Provider for assessment.

  • Charger light blinking orange and computer won't start up

My charger on my computer broke a couple days ago so I ordered a new one. While waiting for the battery to come in the mail, the battery on my computer went dead. Now I have the new charger and when I plug it into the computer it blinks orange but never gets a solid orange. Also, the computer will not fire up. Years ago I drained my battery dead and it took a little while charging before it fired back up. I'm hoping its the same problem but it has been over a hour now and still nothing. Anyone have any advise? Thanks

I just came back from the Apple Store.  They think that the Logic Board is the issue and possibly other issues (They didn't say what).
Below is a chart of what they will charge me to fix it.  This includes any defective parts, a 90 day warranty and re-imaging the machine I am told.  This is far less expensive than I can do it myself for.  I can't even find a logic board that is in stock for less than $449.
I will update you if this changes.  I strongly encourage you to goto your local Apple Store and work with them and most of all be polite.

  • 2nd gen shuffle blinks orange 3x then doesnt charge, isnt detected

I have had and used my Ipod Shuffle for a couple months now and I go to plug my Ipod Shuffle into the USB dock and the Ipod light blinks orange three times and nothing happens after that. The Ipod is not detected by my computer or by Itunes. The Ipod does not charge at all. Because the Ipod is not detected by Itunes or anything else for that matter, I can't upload or organize any of my songs on the Ipod. I have tried all of the solutions I can find related to Apple and Ipod. None have worked. I uninstalled Itunes from my computer and then reinstalled it and nothing happened. I want to find the answer to my pesky problem because I don't want to have to buy another MP3 player. Please help me fix this problem. Any ideas or suggestions?

I had the exact problem occur with a 2nd gen shuffle less than 24 hours old. I had just bought my kids each one of these. After loading them both with songs, one of them would no longer be recognized by either of my PC's. When plugged in to the docking station, the light on the ipod would blink orange 3x, and then, nothing. The PC would not play the normal something-was-just-plugged-into-the-USB-port sound. The other shuffle connected fine, using the same USB port and docking station. Strange enough, the ipod that refused to be recognized would still play the music that had already been loaded before the problem started. However, since it was not being recognized by the PC or iTunes, I figured it was not going to take a charge, and would just be a matter of 12-14 hours before the thing was dead for good. I took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new one. This time I purchased the 2-year replacement contract (something I rarely do). Probably a good bet, as a couple of hours later, the sound of the newly-replaced shuffle cuts in and out when the headphone wire is touched. I wonder how many of these cute little guys my kids will go through in the next two years...

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Shuffle (2nd Gen) not charging, just blinks orange once.

    Hi,
I was using this iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen for almost 4 years without any problem, After I got iPod Touch 4G a year back, I stopped using shuffle for almost a year. When I looked at it recently, of course, to give it to my niece - it's not responding. Thinking that battery drained, I tried to charge the shuffle using the then supplied USB doc.
When connected it just blinked orange once - only once that's it. Nothing happend. Even after keeping it for a whole night, nothing happend. It doesn't play, iTunes won't recognize, but windows 7 says "USB Device not recognized", and it was showed under Generic USB Hub as "Unknown Device"
I used USB 2.0 port back of my computer.
Tried using 3rd gen shuffle charging cable, but this time not even the orange blink.
Tried suggested resetting option (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1655), but invain.
    Any suggestions?

    If you do
Apple Menu -> About This Mac -> More Info -> System Report
to run System Information (or System Profiler), does the "iPod" appear as a connected device under
    Hardware -> USB
Try doing the above with the shuffle connected directly AND using the power USB hub you mentioned.
Have you tried connecting something else to that USB port, to confirm it is working properly?  Preferably, it should be something similar, like a USB flash drive or port-powered external drive (data storage devices that get power from the USB port).
Two other related tests...  Create a new user account in System Preferences Users & Groups pane.  The new user account can be Standard or Admin.  Log out and log in to the new user account (do not use Fast User Switching).  In the new user account, run iTunes and connect the shuffle.
And the other test.  Start up in Safe Mode
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564
Connect the shuffle while started up in safe mode, to see if it appears anywhere.  These two test are to see if you have a process running when you start up normally, that interferes with the iPod being recognized.

  • My shuffle is blinking orange and won't charge

My ipod shuffle is blinking orange and won't charge.

Blinking orange means "do not disconnect."  It may or may not be fully charged.
If you have the shuffle set to Manually manage music or Enable disk use, the light will blink orange until you eject the shuffle.  This is because, with those setting, the system has continuous access to the iPod (as a "disk"), so the iPod is technically "in use," even if it is just sitting there.
To eject the shuffle, there is a small eject button (it has a triangle with a line under it) next to the shuffle's name in the iTunes sidebar (under DEVICES).  Click that button to eject the shuffle.  If the battery is fully charged, the lighit should turn solid green (not blinking).  Not blinking means "OK to disconnect" it from computer.
