    Since this morning all text in firefox looks slightly different - I think it still uses the same font, but renders it differently!? I would like to have it changed back to what it was. Any help is welcome.
    Some facts:
    - Happens only in Firefox (IE & Chrome still look the same)
    - Already did a reset to defaults
    I'm using the latest version of Firefox

  • Sliding text in Firefox location/search bars

    It has come to my attention that, when I use a bitmap font for my GTK apps, the text in Firefox's search and location bars tends to slide arround annoyingly when selected. Here's a screenshot of this:
    The "sliding" is visible in the circled areas.
    Is there anything that can be done about this?

    Anyone know the reason this occurs in apps that aren't pure GTK? Does it have something to do with Cairo? Firefox can IIRC be compiled with Cairo support - would that fix it?

  • Can't lift text from Firefox

    Searched and found one old thread where someone couldn't lift text from Firefox and was advised to View Source and copy it from there, but that will not work for me. Is Firefox just liftproof or what? I lift headlines and a paragraph or two from news stories and link to them from my site bradmesser.com. OS 10.6.5, iMac 7,1, Firefox 3.6.12 (new Firefox beta doesn't work well at all for me, trashed it)

    Normally I copy text from a site in Safari, then go to Dreamweaver and paste that text. When I copy from a Firefox site such as <http://www.sacbee.com/2010/11/12/3179800/white-house-notebook-no-dead-fish.html?storylink= lingospot_related_articles> and go to Dw and paste, nothing is placed. But when I paste to, say, TextEdit, it DOES paste. Too weird, huh.

  • Vertical Text in Firefox

    Is there a way to display vertical text in Firefox? I can do
    it with CSS3 in IE, but not in FF.
    Is there a way to generate a dynamic image containing the
    text, and then reference it with <img
    src=vertText.cfm?text=myText...
    I know this can be done in PHP, but how would one approach
    this problem in ColdFusion?
    Any help would be highly appreciated.

    with CF8 you could create a cfc which would accept text as an
    argument
    and using cf's new image manipulation tags and functions
    create the
    image on the fly for you and output it to the browser
    with prior cf versions it is probably still possible, but
    trickier since
    there are no built-in image manupulation so one has to use
    3rd party
    image tools...

  • Removing Blinking Text from video footage

    Hi Helpers:
    I recently recorded a service at my church where we have three mounted cameras.  One of the cameras was malfunctioning and the word "Backup" is blinking in the top 1/3 of the frame for the entire service.  As luck would have it the malfunctioning camera is the only one that can capture faces as people enter during the mass procession.
    I knew this was happening while recording but couldn't remedy the situation at that time.  I was able to frame most lf my shots so that the vital subject of the angle is below the blinking text in case I need to crop the video (which unfortunately will result in a blurry picture from that camera).
    Is anyone aware of a way that I can use Premiere (CS4) to somehow remove the blinking text or perhaps other options aside from cropping?
    It is a 50/50 blink cycle (12 frames on and 12 frames off) so there are a lot of frames that are good if there is some way to normalize the picture.  There are so many cool tools and features in PS and Premiere that I want to think there is something that can help me.
    Thanks in advance for any ideas or assistance you have !!
    Ned

    Ned,
    Welcome to the forum.
    Unfortunately, if the camera has "burned in" the "backup" message, the best solution would be to use the Fixed Effects>Motion>Scale, and probably Motion>Position to effectively crop out that message, by the Frame Size. Just Scale up to the minimum to get that message off-screen (Positioning if necessary), and living with a slight bit of quality degradation. Scale to the minimum to get that message off-screen.
    Now, depending on the background, surrounding the message, you might be able to use AfterEffects, and its Clone Tool, to clone some of that background, over the message, but this will require a bit of work, especially if there is much camera movement.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • When I cut and past text from Firefox to Microsoft Works I get an error stating 'Out of memory, close applicantions and restart windows'. This does not work. When I had IE I never had this issue. Help!

    When I try to cut and past text from Firefox to Microsoft Works I receive an error that says 'Not enough memory, close applications and restart windows'. This never works! I never had this issue with IE! How can I fix this issue?

    If the crashing only happens with other peoples projects it could be for a variety of reasons. There are tons of asset references saved in the library (the location every item was imported from) and much more. None of those locations will exist on your system and internal complications may simply happen, especially with any runtime shared assets.
    If possible you should consider adding more system RAM so you can multi-task. RAM is extremely cheap. I'm assuming from a smaller 500GB HD and 4GB RAM that you're probably on a laptop however. Installing RAM is still usually pretty easy if you have the notebook manual (or grab it online). It typically involves just lifting the keyboard or opening a single panel on the bottom of the notebook but it varies greatly. At any rate, 8GB RAM would help you quite a bit. If you do, just make sure you get the correct type of RAM (again, in the specs in your manual).
    Even when you run out of physical RAM, Flash (like any other application) will still see more RAM based on the OS's swap memory setting (using available space on your HD as RAM). It will get much slower but Flash should see the total amount the 32bit OS can handle for RAM (it doesn't know if it's physical fast RAM or SWAP (fake) HD RAM though). If you open other apps with Flash they should also operate, but will also use swap RAM and you've probably noticed your HD crunching a lot while more apps are open.
    That said, I have a 4GB RAM in my older i7 lappie and have used Flash CS5.5 and CS6 on it extensively, with other applications open. Although my projects contain mild assets and mostly tons of code. No issues at all. I just think your heavy assets are crashing you.
    Either way, glad you got your work done. You're welcome and good luck!

  • Blink Text Item

    Hello
    I am still not able to solve this blinking text item for my forms.
    I once again request anyone who can give me the sample code.
    I have a text item say mv_msg. Initially there is a welcome message in the text item
    say with red font.
    Now when I move the mouse this text should change with different message with
    different color say by moving the mouse over the form.
    Also this should be done without using any timer .
    Please suggest.Thanks in advance.

    I'm found it from metalink
    https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:6497061713474016232::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,112864.1,1,1,1,helvetica
    Solution Description
    There is no default functionality in forms that allows you to do this. You can
    simulate a blinking font by creating and using a timer within your form:
    1) Create the timer in the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger:
    DECLARE
    sec_timer TIMER;
    one_sec NUMBER(7):=1000;
    BEGIN
    :global.blob := 1;
    sec_timer:= CREATE_TIMER('alarm',one_sec,REPEAT);
    END;
    2) Create a WHEN-TIMER-EXPIRED trigger:
    BEGIN
    if :global.blob =1 then
    set_item_property('text_item4',background_color, 'r400g0b0');
    :global.blob:=2;
    elsif :global.blob = 2 then
    set_item_property('text_item4',background_color, 'r999g999b999');
    :global.blob:=1;
    end if;
    END;
    The above will cause the font to "blink" every second.

  • Text in Firefox Messed Up [SOLVED]

    I started noticing yesterday that on every once in while certain letters of large text in Firefox will fail to show up.
    http://www.pasteall.org/pic/3420
    You can see the glitch in the title of the website. It only seems to happen with large text sizes. Terminal fonts and such are fine.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    EDIT: Does not occur in new versions.

    By too tight it means that text boxes can be expanded wider and taller than needed. So grab the lower right hand corner of each text box and drag downward and to the right a bit. Sort of giving the text room to breath. It's a technique that is often needed for HTML snippets.
    Give it a try and see if it works. If so then we'll give a rousing cheer to Roddy who I got the idea from originally. If it doesn't work this post will self delete in 10, 9, 8, ......

  • Is there any way to disable the setting (?) in version 28.0 that blocks the exchange of text between Firefox and other software?

    Since version 28.0 of Mozilla Firefox, our word prediction software Skippy can no longer interact with Mozilla. It seems like additional security measures were taken to disallow software from picking up what is being typed and sending new text to Firefox. Is there any way to circumvent this or is there an advanced option that can disable this functionality? Or could there be any other cause?
    Thank you

  • A div master container blinks in mozilla  firefox

    Hi
    a spry div master container I designed blinks in mozilla  firefox...but it works ok in IE...
    I tried to delete any behaviors in the div master container and div Detail Column but it still blinks in the div master container...
    How can I make it (div master container) ..stop blinking?

    Hello,
    Unfortunately this is not an answer..I just felt the need to mention that I experience the same issues in all Mozilla based browsers, including Firefox and SeaMonkey. When scrolling through the page, the header section (which is positioned fixed) in my website distorts upwards and downwards, while disappearing for super quick millisecond periods. Its strange, because its only Mozilla based browsers that do this, while all others display fine.
    I'm not sure if the "blinking" mentioned above is the same problem as the strange disappearances and distortions I'm having, but since both visual issues are occurring within Mozilla browsers, the answer to the above problem is probably the answer to mine too..or at least definitely considerable!
    Thanks in advance,
    Mr.V
