BLOBs and ASP: Store ok. How to View/Download?

I hope this is not considered OT here; if so, please accept my apologies.
I finally managed to upload a binary file to a BLOB field in my Oracle 8i table (through Oracle OLE-db). In the same table I also store size and content type of the file.
What I'm trying to do now is to build an ASP page listing all the documents in this table and put beside each document two buttons: View and Download.
Clicking the View button should open a pop-up window and display the document in the web page (if the MIME type is known), while clicking the Download button should open the standard dialog box (even if the MIME type is known).
I know you can read the blob and save it to a file on the web server, but it is not clear to me when the file should be deleted. How do I know, for example, that the download is over?
I've found examples of images sent from a BLOB field to the browser, but I'm not dealing with JPEGs of GIFs: doc, xls, pdf, ppt, etc. Is it possible to read the binary data of a BLOB and send it to the browser without saving to file?
And how can I tell the browser to ignore the MIME type and open the download dialog?

Hi there, Thanks for your response. I'm in India. I usually access Ovi Store app through my Wi-Lan (not through telecom provider's internet as we have only GPRS, 3G services are expected to be launched this month). Having said that, I want to mention that I had already purchased Angry Bird game through the Ovi store in Nov using my CC. It was smooth and painless. Not sure why this issue is happening since the last 1 month.

FWIW, I just got off the phone with Apple technical support about this. I use Genuis for creating playlists, so I don't want to disable it, but Apple support confirmed that there is no way to avoid syncing Genius data without disabling Genius altogether. I'd read somewhere else that subscribing to iTunes Match might allow you to avoid this, but that is NOT the case, as I've confirmed, and Apple support has confirmed. For me, it routinely syncs thousands genius of items, so I have to allow a lot of time for my manual syncs.

If the apps that are on your son's iPad were purchased under his Dad's Apple ID, then signing your Apple ID onto the iPad will not help you with updating those apps.
Also, if the iPad was sync'd with his Dad's iTunes library, then hooking it up to your computer/iTunes library, will require you to reset the iPad, and everything that was loaded under the other Library and Apple ID will be wiped out.
Can you provide a little more info about what was set up under which Apple ID and what iTunes library the iPad was sync'd with?

As long as you have a legitimate serial number, you can just download a trial version of the version you need from the public Adobe site, install it and input your valid serial number upon installing it.
You will need to apply all available updates, as all downloads are of the original release.
The Extended and the Standard version of Photoshop are one and the same binary. It's your serial number that makes it Extended or Standard.

You would need to set up a new account. In order to have an account in the Indian App Store, you need 1) a valid billing address in India, 2) a credit card billed to that address or gift card purchased in India and 3) to be physically present in India at the time of purchase.

I just bought Windows 8 and have now got a downloadable link with a product key. How can I download it on my mac so I can burn it on a DVD to start the Bootcamp? When I press to download, it wont as it is an exe file. I tried to download it on a windows computer so I can burn it but it asked to input the Product key, so was quite weary as it might have registred windows on that laptop.
Any suggestions?

mine was an exe too but it's an upgrade from windows7
so one had to install windows7 and then run the exe file from there
not sure if you also bougth an upgrade if so then you need a win7 too

What happens when you try to add it to your account ? Debit cards don't appear to still be accepted in all countries, and (based on what some people have posted) even where are still accepted it seems that not all cards are.
For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If you are getting a 'declined' message when trying to add it then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined (but you might not be able to use a debit card) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management

The built in Apps can not be deleted. Check other screens. Check existing folders. Check Settings - General - Restrictions.

How to view downloaded books

I have purchased ebooks with my iPad and have downloaded all the iCloud programmes. The books appear to have been downloaded onto my home PC as the titles appear under iTunes on the PC. I cannot figure how to open the books to read them on the home PC (on the iPad is OK). I'm worried that if I loose/break my iPad, I've lost all the books.
Also, I accidentally downloaded all the photos on my home PC onto the iPad (hundreds!) and now I can't delete them. Even when I try to delete each photo individually under 'photos' (when the 'delete' word appears at the top left) they still won't delete.
Can anyone help me? I'm hopeless on this stuff.

You cannot read them on a computer.
ibooks are ONLY for iphone/ipad/ipod touch,
You delete photos the exact same way you put them there. The sync process. Open itunes, connect ipad, select what you want, sync
