Block a material for production

Hi.
I need to block a material for production  (HALB - semifinished products).
In the material master > MRP1 > Plant-Specific Material Status
I can choose "02" => Blocked for task list/BOM
Will this block the material for production?
Thanks
Geiri

Hi Geiri,
Yes it will block the material for the production.
Also you can try the following things
1.  Maintain the MRP type ND: Means no requirement will be generated.
2. Also you can flag the material for deletion(MM06) for the time being so that it can not use by any other dept too..
Please check and revert.
Thanks

We can allow material to storage locations by MMSC. Can we block a material for particular storage location ?
    Please share ur view.

    Hi,
If you want a material to be blocked, go to the Basic data 1 view of the material, there in the genral data you have " X-plant material status ". Also in Cost estimate 1 view of the material you have Plant Specific Material status. Use the options available to block the material in these two views.
Also u can goto MM06 where put material, plant, storage location. When u select enter just tick the check box of material, plant and storage location and save it.
    Pls reward if found useful.

  • Block Particular material for a DC and Plant combo

    Hi All,
Iam working for a FMCG client at the movement and i have a peculiar requirement which at the outset seamed easy but iam not able to find a solution.
The client wants to block selling of a particular material for specific distribution channel and plant combo. i did explore the following options
    1. "X-distr.chain status" in the material master sales org1 view but this will block for all DC
    2. "DChain-spec. status" this will block the material for the DC for all plants
    3. If i don't assign the plant to that SO and DC combo then you can't sell from that plant to SO DC at all
can any of you give a solution
    Regards
    Godwin

    HI,
In Material Master you can find field DC and Plant specific status .The values for the same are defined in config . to block the material at various level like quotation, order, delivery etc.

    hi,
If you are having the stock of 10 nos as unrest .stock, you can move the stock to blocked stock by  transfer posting using mvt type 344 .
it can be taken to unrest by 343.

  • Component scrap and post material for production

    Hi guys,
If we maintain component scrap in material master data. e.g.:10%. when we need 1000pcs "A", we will buy 1100pcs.
But, when we post "A" for production, we only want post 1000pcs.
Is there some method to achieve this?
    Thanks
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
Create another material say " X "  assign this material in the Bom as component also by-product .In this way you can post
1000 for production and  100 pcs under by -product during confirmation .

  • Excess material for production order

    Hi,
I have issue in SAP, a particular  production order unexpectedly propose very high material usage. Let's say, that actual usage per production order is 10pcs only, but SAP propose to use 15pcs.
Please help me to understand what need to be check.
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Hi Suman,
From your message i could understand that you are trying to create a production order for Finished materail.
Now if semifinished material is not available in stock, then you need to Confirm/GR its relevant production order.
If you are just testing some scenario, then you can use txn "MB1C" movement type "561" to increase the stock of the semifinished.
Generally goods issue is done with referance to Production order/Reservation,this would not allow additional issue. However unplanned issue is possible with just referance to order. This would affect the order cost and the cost difference is likely to get settled to Material.
    Hope this helps..

  • Block Material for all operations

    Hi gurus,
I need block a material for all operations. In material master, field X-plant matl status is ok with all possible blocks that system offers. But, I can still do inventory, and other operations...
How Can I block for all operations a material???
    Thank you
I will reward with points all answers

In IM it is possibel to block but in WM it isn't (according to my best knowledge).
WM-inventory > block WM inventory booking of materials that are out of use

  • Blocking material for sale at plant level

    Hi,
Can you please help me whether we can block the material for sale at plant level.
We can block the material in sales organization view --> DChain-spec. status as BLOCKED FOR SALE , but it wil block sales of the material for all the plants in the sales organization.
Please help whether we can go ahead at plant level.

the posting block for goods issues can already be reached with a material status, so no phyiscal inventory document necessary.
What you could try is to control the usage by a userexit.
E.g.  you define a sales status AND a material status, just as table entry without any customizing in detail.
and in the userexit you check for the combination of sales status and material status, and if your material has this combination then send a error message to the user.

  • Material Withdrawal for Production

    Hello all,
I'm using Pull list (MF60) to pull material for production supply Storage location.I'm not using PP-REM, but staging is a requirement in my scenario. While executing MF60 with reservation & MF65 to Goods Issue, the Goods Issue happns in one step in SAP, but physically it may take hours to transfer the material. Please suggest how to allign the physical & logical goods movement.
Please note the material is batch managed & automatic batch determination needs to be done before GI
    Regards
    Mahesh

    Dear Friend
I faced similar issue in a chemical implementation.Do not try to develop ABAP programs to address this.Try to align the physical practices instead.I am explaining what we did.
We divided the physical storage location in two areas (Not in SAP).One area is demarketed with Green paint and called it a preparation zone.
Based on Pull list and batch determination , orderwise we used to Pull out the material and put in preparation zone.Handout printout with Batch numbers to forklift operator and he will issue to production zone at designated places. He will tick the printout against each material and batch number on printed pull list.At the end of issuance , he will handover the pull list to stores officer who will then do the PGI.If managed properly there is a time lag of 30-45 minutes between staging and PGI update.
    This procedure ensures :
1.Batch and quantity is double checked (By Forklift operator).
2.The issuance and staging is at decided time.
3.You need not modify SAP programs.
This was accepted and appreciated by client. Please check this can be possible in your situation.
I hope this is of some help.
    with regards

  • Block Material for sales by plant

    Hello Guys,
I want to block the material for sales by plant, i have the material A created in 6 different plants and want to block the material for sale in one plant, i know about all the material blocks in Basic Data1 which is a global block and block on Sales Org1 will block it across the sales organization and block in Purchasing View, MRP view and costing are relevant to block the material for procurement in a plant.
All sales orders are created in CRM 4.0 and will replicate to R/3
Any development ideas will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Uday

    Hi Uday,
In that case, if you want to block for sales only a specific material or materials from a particular Plant within a Sales Organization, you may not have any standard options available. However, you may want to work with your ABAP colleagues on an userexit to achieve your objective during your sales order processing.
The following userexit may be useful for your purpose to define your rules for sales by Plant for specific materials within a sales Organization
    User-Exit in program MV45AFZB -
    USEREXIT_SOURCE_DETERMINATION
You can use this user exit to determine which plant will be used for the delivery. In the standard system, the delivering plant is copied from the customer master or the customer-material info record. If you want to use a different rule, then you must enter it in this user exit.
As per another update here in your forum, if you plan to stop sales completely from a particular Plant for ALL materials in a Sales Og, then you may want to de-link the Plant assignment to the Sales Org, if possible.
I hope this information helps you in your work.
    Best Regards

  • To restrict Issue for production than planned qty in production order

    Hi Experts,
In my scenario, the production staff will prepare production order and right click in production order document and select "Issue Components" option to Issue raw materials for production floor. After issuing the raw materials to production floor closes the "Issue for Production" document and now we have "Production Order" document open in screen. When he again select "Issue Components" option and issues the raw materials once again. Materials are issued once again wrongly. This happens since the production order document is not getting refresh after "Issue for Production" document is done.
Is there any way to restrict issue of raw materials than the planned qty.?
I have tried lot of ways to restrict this through SP. Please revert me an solution to this issue.
The procedure should trigger immediately when the "Issue Components" option is selected second time (If the raw materials are issued in full in first time itself). And it should allow only the qty which is to issued to production order qty (if they issue part issue to production order)
    Thanks in advance
    Raja.S

    Hi Neetu,
Thanks for your quick response. I have tried this query. But it is not blocking the issue for production document even the raw materials are issued already for the production order.
I'll explain my work flow again. The Production staff will prepare production order and then release the same and update the production order after changing  the status for "Release". Then he will right click the Mouse button and select "Issue Components" option and perform the Issue for Production process. He will issue the required raw material completely in one shot and add the Issue for Production document.
After adding the Issue for Production document he will close that document and now we will be in Production order document. Now our production order document will not get refreshed. Now the Production staff go for "Issue components" option, then it should not allow him to issue the components once again. But it is allowing him to issue components any number of times. there is no control.
If we browse the production order document to previous record and browse back to the same record then my Production order document get refreshed and now we can control the issue. But what should i do to control in the earlier case. Since they want to perfrom lot of production order, there is a chance to issue components for same production order more than one time before the production order document get refreshed.
Please provide me the SP to control this scenario.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Invoice block when material in Quality

    Hi
If the material is goods receipted into quality stock, i know that you can block the material for payment by maintaining the quality control key 0007 in the material master which (delivery release, invoice block) asks for the quality inforecord maintenance. The control key generally blocks the invoice till the material is moved to unrestricted
I need to know without maintaining quality inforecord whether it is possible to block the payment for the material.
Any alternate Quality control key in the material master which prevents vendor payment when material is in quality at the same time does not asks for Quality Inforecord maintenance.
    Regards
    Arvind

    Hi,
You can  block the payment at Invoice level, then during ur invoice entry(MIRO),just go to payment tab(after basic data) and in the field of pmnt block enter your criteria like  PAYMENT BLOCK as bolcked for payment or other criteria as u required. After Quality inspection , you release the invoice and make payment.
    If helpful then reward.

  • How to Block the material

    Hi friends,
How to block the material ,
what are the implecations if we block a material?
    Regards
    Krishna

    Hi,
The best way is to keep the materail status with deleted or blocked for puchase / sales and need to maintain in the materail master.
You cannot delete the material from material master until archiving but you can block that material for any procurement
    Goto Basic data 1
    X-plant matl status -
    01 Blocked for procment/whse
                                           02 Blocked for task list/BOM
                                           10 Blocked for MRP
    Select any one.
    Valid from  -
Here you enter valid date from which the material should be blocked.
So from this your material will be blocked for any PR/PO/any transactions related to Procurement

Is is possible in SAP and if yes ,then what are the steps to achieve this.

    Hi,
You can Block the Material for further processing.
You can set the Indicator as Block(Initial ststus) in X-Plant Material Status in Basic Data & Purchasing View .
Otherwise you can also flag the material for deletion,in MM06 .
