Block app ad pop ups

How can I stop Safari pop up ads for my iPad air? Pop ups are for apps and it redirects me to various app stores. My Safari block pop ups is already activated; have reset my iPad numerous times; cleared cookies and data; cookies blocked from third party advertisers and it still no help.

If you're getting ads while browsing sites that should not contain ads, that's going to be a network problem of some kind.
More likely, though, you're getting ads that are normal for the sites you're visiting, in which case you should take this as a sign that those sites are crap and should be avoided. Alternately, if you're getting pop-up ads in certain apps, you just need to either buy the full, ad-free version of that app or quit using the app.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

  • Blocking ads and pop ups

Have the newer version of the WSA give us the option not to display an message when an ad or pop up is blocked?
I have asked about this before and I thought that is was in the blueprints for a future release I just wanted to see if is has been done.
I get a lot of complaints that websites are being blocked and really its just ads and pop ups.Other url filters that I have used in the past for ads and pop ups dont display this ad or pop up has been blocked message.
    Thanks

Just FYI ... we currently acheive this by using a custom (redirected from ironport) block page for all of our block messages. We then design this .asp block page to display differently depending on what fields are passed to it in the URL. If the category=Advertisements, then the block page appears as a simple white page with the text "This advertisement has been intentionally blocked ... "
This also allows us to design custom 504, 503 pages etc, as well as different block pages depending on the user's IP address range.
Can you share with us how you did this, I am new to the IronPort and have some .asp experience. I would like to know how to blank out the ad pages and have a message come up for the other blocked pages. Thanks!

  • Firefox is blocking too many pop-ups, eliminating some essential pics

When I go into Ebay or Paypal there are pop-ups being blocked. My pics on Ebay listings are not appearing in Firefox, do appear in other browsers.

All you have to do is add those sites to your exceptions. You can find the instructions [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Pop-up%20blocker?s=pop-ups&as=s#w_pop-up-blocker-settings here].

  • I have mistakenly allowed pop-ups on a particular website. How do I change this to block or disallow pop-ups? Can it be changed back?

While I was in a website, I had a message to allow, block etc pop-ups but I think I may have mistakenly pressed 'allow'. I wish to change a pop-up allowability. Can it be changed back?

    # Click the orange Firefox button or, if the application menu is enabled, click '''Tools''' followed by '''Options'''
    # Click on the '''Content''' icon/category
    # Next to where it says ''Block popup windows ''click the '''Exceptions''' button
    # Select the site for which you wish to revoke the exception then click the '''Remove Site''' button

  • Blocking the remaining pop-ups

I know Apple says I can "block the vast majority" of pop-ups just through the Safari menu. I've done that. The problem is that there are so many pop-ups I still have to work around a pretty vast minority of them.
Are there any good downloads (or any other solutions) that will block unwanted pop-ups in Safari (currently using 4.0.4) without interfering with user-intended webpage activities?

Some popups are better able to be blocked by Firefox, or Camino than Safari. I'd try a variety of Mac web browsers on the websites you visit the most often, and choose the one that has the best combination of features and ability to visit websites you need*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/browser.html
Note some popup addons such as PthHelmet have a tendency to break with Mac operating system updates, and need a followup update to be compatible, so be careful if you add things to Safari that might break later on. Be aware of whether or not they work with specific browser/operating system updates before applying those updates.
Of course you can always write the webmaster of the website in question threatening to stop doing business with them if they don't stop putting up popups and popunders.

  • 1and1 Webmail signing out only on this computer, won't sync, blocking non-existant pop-ups & windows

My webmail is auto signing me out several times a day, but only on this computer. It's set for 'private', I've uninstalled and reinstalled that program, cleared cache and re-started, same thing with Firefox.
Firefox is also frequently blocking pages from opening that apparently don't exist, and blocking non-existent pop-up windows as well.
Today I got an error message that my sync password was rejected, which is odd since it's set to manually sync and nothing's been changed. All the resets happened days ago. It also wouldn't let me use my password, but let me change it.
Since this is the only computer I'm having the problems on I'm assuming that it's either the version of Firefox that I'm using or something in my computer that suddenly isn't playing nice with Firefox, but I don't know where to start, other than once again un and re-installing it (which did nothing).
    Thanks for any help!

I kept getting that error message. I thought that since I'm syncing with my corporate email so the calendar syns wirelessly with Outlook, that it was causing a conflict.
I just found this post though, and other people said it worked for them

  • Blocks critical application pop ups and does not allow over ride, could not install a flash product untill firefox was removed

banking on-line application uses a pop up to go to bill payment. Get message in line above that the pop up was blocked by Firefox. There is no override capability.
A Flash product required the Firefox to be shout down in order for install to occur

    Hi,
I am using a Nvidia 4200M adapter in my Laptop, Driver 266.96, Direct X 11
In my desktop I am using an ATI XFX 6950, latest revision drivers (I am not at home right now so I cant get that info).
The issue I did describe above, but it was a long explanation.
In some flash games the game files load initially and get as far as the "click to start" button. Then the flash area usually goes either all white or all black (usually depending on the falsh game default background color) and then it stays that color. Cant see anything after hitting start (usually most games have an intro video or animation before the game starts, but I cant see any of it.
For the very few games that do start, the flash game or application does not seem to work correctly in that when the rare game starts, it wont save any game files or save files to the pc and so if I exit the game (navigate away to another page or close browser) and then later come back, even though I click the option to save games (and ensure that the flash application slider shows it can save files and lots of space) it does not save and I have to start from the beginning all the time.
    More explanation I gave above.

  • How can I stop App Store pop-ups every time I use my iPhone?

It seems like every time I turn on my iPhone 4S lately, there is a window asking me if I would like to go to the App Store.  I have to click "OK" or "Cancel" before I can use the iPhone.  Extremely annoying.

Actually, now that it's happened again (several times) I see that it actually says "iTunes store", not "App Store".

Why? How can I change it?
    Thanks for any help
    Andrea

    1. If adware is installed without your knowledge,
use  free  AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here
         http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
Install , open,  and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button   to remove adware.
Once adware is removed, quit the app by clicking AdwareMedic in the menubar
        and selecting “Quit AdwareMedic”.
    Safari
    2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn those off one by one and relaunch Safari again to test.

  • Firefox won't open pop-ups even though pop-up blocker is off.

    Hello,
I'm a website designer using ff 3.6.13 on XP sp3 platform. FF is very temperamental with pop-ups so I shut off Pop-up blocker. Regardless of blocker being off, pop-ups are still blocked on a site I'm working on. Until recently, these Pop-up links used to work well in FF. They still work great in Chrome and IE.
My Firewall program does not have pop-up blocker:
An example of the pop-up is located on the "download" link at the top of this page listed below:
    http://www.technologymarketingcenter.com/resourcearchive/how-not-to-execute-guerilla-warfare.php

There is a fix for Dreamweaver, so it works in Firefox 3.6+ versions:
    http://solutions.marketingmedley.com/
There is a $5.00 fee for that Dreamweaver fix. That website and the fix are not associated with Mozilla in any manner. Support for that fix is provided by that that website via email.

  • Remove app store pop up from ipads

how to prevent app store pop ups from ipads

You don't. Beyond not using the game or site that has such ads, or complaining to the administrators or developers that use it.
You could look for an ad blocking app, I use weblock but I'm sure there are others that you may like to explore.
