This problem is easy to resolv, and lots of apps can do call blocking, but Apple for some reason dont allow Them In AppStore. Apple defenately know this, and should free the apps In AppStore that can help their customers. They dont have to create an app, just realease the apps that have existed for years and are working perfectly.

You don't. Call blocking, for any cell phone, can only be done by your carrier. Some carriers offer call blocking, some don't. If yours doesn't:
Create an entry in your Contacts list called "Spam". Put this number in that entry, then assign a silent ringtone to the contact entry. While the call will still come through, your phone won't ring. Here's a silent ringtone already made for you:

Does anyone know how to assign a ringtone to "blocked callers"? I have songs/tones assigned to various contacts, but would like to assign to blocked callers (i.e. my work)

It can not be done. The reason Caller ID displays "Blocked" is because the caller has explicitly decided to block their number from being transmitted over the caller ID system. Without a number, it is not possible for the phone to match the string received with a phone number in a contact.
Only your carrier can block these calls. Contact them and see if they offer this service.

Unable to Block Callers?

Previously I had no problem blocking specific callers, but now that option isn't clickable from my drop-down menu. I've been receiving URGENT ALERT Spam calls (4x today alone!) and I'd like to block the caller, but am unable to.
I found that I would also be unable to block anyone on my contacts list, however I had done so twice before in the last year... How can I fix this? Why is this option still in my drop-down menu but unaccessible?

Looks like this problem has been going on for quite some time. Starting to look like a bid by MS to remove an option that many of us need because of the high level of spam calls (hmmm.... kind of like hotmail!!!!). Maybe they want to start charging for this feature in the future ? In any case I guess its time to start looking for alternatives. Here is my list... GoogleVoice Voxox There are lots of others but these two provide a similar level of cross platform support of Windows, OSX and mobile devices. (Not sure about Linux). Looks like I will be canceling all of my paid Skype account features in the next few days. It was nice knowing you Skype while you lasted... I tried to reach Customer Support but all the web page would tell is that I need to type something... (Thats what it actually said !!!!) Really !!!! I filled in all the visible test fields on the form !!!! But the error message didn't tell me what or where. It was probably some type of captcha that my browser blocking was stopping but who knows ? Error message didn't tell me what.... so oh well.... Bye Skype

Does anybody know how to block telephone numbers with the iPhone? I don't mean reject a call, but to stop the call even getting through?

I created a silent ringtone and assign it to any wrong number that keeps calling. My old number was one digit different from the number for an ambulance service that transported people from nursing homes to hospitals and back.
When I gave up my land line I transfered that number to my iPhone. Years ago, (I've had that number over 10 years), it belonged to a real estate management company. Now I get calls for them. They're in google and online phone books, even though they don't exist anymore. I tried removing my number from these lists, but it keeps coming back.
I created a contact called "BS-Don't Answer". When a wrong call comes in I assign it to that contact. They never disturb me again.

I blocked a company form calling me everyday, thus I dont see when they call me anymore, but they still leave me a 0.01 second voicemail?
Im not sure why they are still able to do this, but its extreamlly annoying!

I completely understand the option for discretion being important. At this time those who have been blocked when contacting you will hear the following message, "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. The number you were trying to reach has calling restrictions which has prevented the completion of your call." However I will ensure I pass your feedback to my leadership to see if changes can be made.

Blocked callers can leave voicemail so still get through how do I stop this?

I Found the number of an 'unknown' voicemail caller
tthrough the message envelope function and googled it to find it was a spam call about debts - j often get calls about this which ring - so I then blocked this number but now it goes straight to voicemail everytime and i get notified that I have a voicemail - I still have to listen as it could be a real voicemail and so still have to listen to the call ! How can I prevent a blocked number from leaving voicemail?

Why isn't there an easy way to block callers?

This is such a perpetual nuisance. And it would seem that people as capable as Apple, on a device as powerful as an iPhone, could have figured out an easy solution to this problem. Why isn't "block call" one of the choices on the screen when I get a phone call?

You may want to look at the Do Not Disturb feature's settings, also. What you could do is add the phone number(s) that can call you to your Favorites list or a group, then set DND to allow those calls to always come through. It will silence everything else.

the message you hear is coming from the provider... i don't think att has the service available on their wireless phones (although they do have it on their land line phones)

No. You can try this through your carrier. At this time iphones cannot block callers... I think ios7, when it gets released, will have this feature.

Can a child block a parent using ios7 on a verizon plan that has parental safeguards and the parent is listed as a trusted contact?

My child is at college and when we get in an argument or he just is being a spiteful brat he claims to block me using the ios7 capability to block callers. I have Verizon and have the parental safeguards and controls set up and as account owner and the parent, I also listed myself as a trusted contact which states the call can't be blocked. However, I want to know if ios7 can override the parent control and actually block my calls and texts?
And yes, i know to take away his phone. If this continues he will lose the privilege of it. So, please no parenting tips.

That's what I thought. That really stinks when they are away at school and I physically can't get the phone back. I'll just deactivate until he learns to not be disrespectful.

Contacts randomly changed to blocked caller

I have recently had two of my contacts randomly changed to blocked callers. I have not changed this in their contact settings. Any thoughts?

I would only enable your enterprise server on you Mac and other devices. I would turn off contacts in iCloud. Icloud will show duplicate contacts. The way I got rid of is only using enterprise.
