Block documents in a table

Hello all,
I would like to take some line items from BSID under some conditions and move them to a Ztable, but in the meanwhile these documents remains in the table I would like to block them, to avoid that anyone can make any change.
How can I get this?

Hi Eli,
I have another question. Once I have all the open line items in the Ztable blocked. I want to change the assignment field (well i suppose I have to change first the assignment field and then block them...). To get this massive assignment change for all the documents, which is the fastest way for the program to do it? Is there any BAPI ?

I have a question about blocking document ,do we have to block the document when filling the setup table and when doing initial extracion both ? or just filling the setup table?this confuess me .
in experiance ,how long will it take to fill the setup table if the total records reaches about 5 million .

Hi,
It is recommended to fill the setup table after logging off all the transaction users, preferably during nights (basically you will have to take a down time of the R/3 system). if you have taken a down time then it is not necessary to block documents, since there would be no users posting transactions.
The blocking would be useful if you are trying to fill the setup table during the day time and there is possibility that users could post some documents. However by blocking documents, this would prevent the users from posting / creating documents and this could hamper the normal business (like creating billing documents, orders etc).
if you are doing the filling up at night after taking down time then the approx time could be 1 hour(my guess) again this could depend on the application servers, RAM etc. However if you are trying to do it during the peak hours, i.e when the users are doing transaction(which is not recommended), then it is very difficult to estimate the time.

Deleting Funds Block document

We created a funds block document in FY2009 and now need to delete it. Unfortunately, the fiscal year has changed to 2010 and we cannot carry forward this document apparently due to the fact that we use update profile 000102. Have tried deleting the document with transactions FMMC - Close Open Items and FM_DLOI - Deleting an FM Commitment, but neither work. Please advise on how to eliminate this commitment doc.

The value type is allowed for carry-forward only if the budget of preceding document is reduced (PAYREDUCT and COMREDUCT fields): this is, indeed, definition of update profile in the table FMUP01. From what I see, none of updates profiles allow for value type 80 to act in this way. So, it's not only the problem of 000102 profile. I would open OSS note, as the situation is ambiguous: you cannot carry-forward the document, but you cannot set it to 'complete' if it has not been carried-forward. Of course, you can try playing with FMUP01 setting in test, but this could be tricky.

I have a requirement of creating a pdf document from adf table and it must open in a new window.I know creation of pdf document using itext pdf jar.But in my case how to write the table data to pdf and how to open it in new window.

In the TF do like this..

Fragment A command button would be

in the action add a return like return "dialog:invokePdf";
Control flow outcome is "dialog:invokePdf". B would be just a empty fragment.

Block documents due to missing business partner

Hello to everyone,
I have problem with blocked documents in GTS due the missing external business partner account. I have to give for every blocked document, the business partner account manually in order to release the document. Eventhough the vendor master record has been correctly maintained, also on purchasing organization, I can not understand why the business partner account is missing in GTS. In Screedshot you can see first line is always blocked with block sign.
Can anybody help me to find the solution for that ? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your replay. I have again tested the Business parter transfer by changing in name field. The data was transfered sucessfully from R/3 to GTS.

Open standards WordprocessingML format is supports by Microsoft word. It is typical xml format of designing word document. But creating document with TOC,tables, different styles of paragraphs are complex. Using this format, i have created simple docs. I never tried with complex formats like TOC. The generating File should be in ".doc or .docx" format only.

To load an XML document into 40 tables

How do I load a large XML document into 40 tables. Most of the exmaples, I see only load one table into the Orcale database?

Currently XML-SQL Utility (XSU) can only store to a single table. It maps a canonical representation of an XML document into any table/view. But of course there is a way to store XML with the XSU across table. One can do this using XSLT to transform any document into multiple documents and insert them separately. Another way is to define views over multiple tables (object views if needed) and then do the inserts ... into the view. If the view is inherently non-updatable (because of complex joins, ...), then one can use INSTEAD-OF triggers over the views to do the inserts.

Unable to find blocked documents in /N/SAPSLL/MENU_LEGAL

I've used the following transaction for GTS Menu: /N/SAPSLL/MENU_LEGAL where I selected Sanctioned party list screening Tab selected Display blocked documents under Documents. But, I did not find any blocked sales documents which I created. Kindly advise me is there any settings to be done?

Hi ,
Can you help understand the steps to confirm that the document was blocked... Ideally , a blocked document will appear under the report.
You need to first confirm that the document came into GTS.
You can actually check the current status of the document in "Display All Documents " section available under the same navigation path.. The log will tell you whats the current status of the document.
The "Audit trail for document" can confirm if this document was ever blocked and further steps carried on the same.

BLOCK BASED ON TWO TABLES

I've created a block based on two tables.
Querying records works fine.
However, when I try to amend a column in the master table I get an error message 'Record has already been updated by another user.'
I have set the dml target property to to the master table and set the primary key on the correct columns.
What else could there be??!!

Block1 will be----- enter_query Sku :123 then from dropdown select Level 1 which will show data like this
in two different rows.
Sku       : 123       Price : $100        Qty : 10   (Primary)
Sub Sku   : 345       Price : $110        Qty : 8   (Level 1)then from dropdown selected Level 2 which will show data like this in two different rows.
Sku       : 123       Price : $100        Qty : 10   (Primary)
Sub Sku   : 456       Price : $90         Qty : 12 (Level 2)There are two more blocks which will display more information based on either Level 1 is selected or Level2 selected.

Marking block of rows in table control

Hi All,
I have an requirement to mark block of rows (Like 2 to 5, 7 to 11 or 3 to 15 ) in table control to delete from the table control. This functionality is available in SM30 (Table maintenance generator) and my users want same functionality for customized dialog program.
Can any one any have an idea how to write the code for marking block of entries in table control.

Assign a internal table field to table control place holder , whenever you select a row in the table control , internal table field value set to 'X'.
so delete the rows from the internal table where row value set to 'X'.
Sample code :
CASE OK_CODE.
WHEN 'DELETE'.
DELETE I_TAB WHERE CHK = 'X'.
ENDCASE.

Interest calculated even in blocked documents

Hi,
I ran interest calculation and blocked those documents not to be calculated with interest.
Upon posting, some of those blocked documents still calculated interest.
What could be the reason why it still calculated interest and what can we do to prevent this from happening again.

Display blocked document SPL - unable to to SPL check

Dear friends,
I have a blocked sales document in "Display Blocked Documents" in SPL area. I can search on the reference number and i got one record. I selected that and try to "Start SPL screening". It says "Unable to select any data (see long text)". Can you please tell me what could be the problem.

please check your customizing:
TA spro->GTS -> Compliance -> SPL service- > Control setting for SPL -> Document screening strategy.
You can select if you want to rescreen all addresses or only changed addresses.
I assume that the address was not changed manually but system is defined in that way...

Navigation block and the Query Table Side by side in output

I am unable to get the navigation block and the query table side by side when i execute the WAD .Is it possible to place those 2 objects next to each other in the WAD output.In the WAD design those 2 are placed side by side.

I meant Html Table:
In WAD in menu you can choose Insert -> Table -> Insert Table
You need 1 row, 2 columns. In one of the column you should put navigation block and in the other table.

Doing Block Recovery of a Table

Hello,
We have to do a single block recovery of a table on Oracle 10gR2 Solaris machine.
One of the archive was missing or corrupted.
I was trying to do block recovery from the backup of 3 days. But it is applying all the archives and after that errors out saying media recovery failure due to missing/corrupt archive log.
I have tried until scn , until sysdate-2 , using tag tagname etc....
But in all the situations it is applying archive logs and giving media recovery failure.
Is there any way I can only apply certain archive logs or do until a point in time of recovery of that single block.
or just get the block from the backup and not apply the archive logs.

Flashback also is WRONG suggestion. It recovers your logical changes,not the physcial corruptions like block failure and you don't need to enable it. Its there by default. The flashback database option has to be enabled. But putting the whole database back in past , just because a block is corrupted , is that a wise thing to do?
@OP,
If you don't have all the archive logs, I would suggest to repair the block using [dbms_repair|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/appdev.102/b14258/d_repair.htm] package. Note that the name of the package is "misleading".
