I went onto windows live messenger today and all my contacts have disappeared from it, but I also noticed that they had somehow now appeared in my curve 9360 phone contacts. If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it.

Yesterday while downloading an app on my 3GS, my iPhone froze, and I switched it off to reboot. Following that, every few minutes, the screen will flicker and the phone will restart. What's wrong? And how should I fix it?

I recieved my iPhone 3GS around Christmas. It has been working great, until yesterday. I was downloading an app and suddenly my messaging froze. I couldn't view incoming messages, and every chat I clicked on displayed the same frozen dialogue with only the contact names different. (The app was supposedly reliable, I read over the reviews.) I rebooted my phone in hopes of fixing this, and everything seemed fine for a couple of minutes. Then the screen slightly flickered, and my phone restarted itself. If still problem and you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage take to Apple for resolution.

This file or name does not appear in the Control Panel add/remove programs list, so I can't uninstall it. I don't know if it's safe to just search for and delete the file. So, how do I know if it's authenticaly yours or safe, and how do I get rid of it? The virus checker is F-Secure.

AFAIK. updatetask.exe is a malicious file and it is associated with the Ask.com toolbar. But I'm unsure as it is very tricky, because UpdateTask.exe has 29 different versions, varying from illegal to malignant.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Did you buy a used iPhone? It appears that it's locked to that account.

Yes. You are being paranoid.
There is no Fcetime icon on any iphone. You turn it on in settings. Select a contact and scroll down to the facetime button in order to make a facetime call.
You cannot delete or add the app store.
It was likely on another page, in a folder or you have restrictions set.

If its on that logo, you can try restoring it via recovery mode
1.Turn off the iPhone, if you can't turn it off due to a lack of response to input, just let the battery drain completly
2. Turn on iTunes on your COMPUTER, dont go to apple.com/itunes, actually open the program.
3. First holding down the home button on the front of the phone, plug the phone into the computer
4. This will do two things. On the phone it should show a usb cable pointing to the iTunes logo, youll know you did it right if you see that. On the computer it will show in itunes that it has detected a device in recovery mode, and that it needs to be restored. Once you see that, hit ok on that, and hit the restore button that should be available on the screen. Once this is done your device should work. If it doesnt take down the error number it gives you and call apple.
Keep in mind, that doing this means losing all your data, before you do this, at least try to sync with iTunes and make a backup, though if its frozen it very well may not.

Oh no. I am so sorry to hear of the battery issues. Thank you for everything you have tried already. Have you tested the device with a different battery to see if it still drains quickly? Have you also tested the device with another charger to make sure it is properly charging the battery all the way?

thieves have stolen my phone. I entered the web page (iCloud) and deleted the information from that cell. But, the continuous cell without location and is still pending disposal. They may have removed the option to locate? Is that possible? Another question! To delete the device information. That erased? all the photos? Applications that I have download?

Thanks for your response. I didn't even know I should do this. I stopped using a pin number to use the phone cos it was a nuisance to answer calls.
The phone has been locked by EE/T-Mobile and I have checked with Find my iPhone and the phone is not connected/not even on.

A better way might be
Settings > Facebook > Contacts > turn off.
There are other Facebook settings you might want to leave on. But I also prefer to turn off Calendar there as well to keep every Facebook friends birthday from clogging up my calendar app.
