Block payroll data from cost center for all users except HR team

Hello Expect,
Could any body please advise me how can I restrict some HR data in cost center view from FICO,CRM,SRM and other team,
Now when other team see cost centers it display all data booked there but my client want to restrict some HR data from them
In my project there are 151 roles that can display cost center dat including HR data,
Now my requirment is how can I restrict only HR data belongs to a cost center
I mean to say they should be able to see all cost center data exept a cost center containing HR data.
Please advise how to get solution

Hi
The best practice in Portal is to create 2 different design, one for users, one for administrators. I mean design : Desktop, Framework Page, Theme ...and so on.
This allows you to manage two ways of displaying or not informations, for sure user view should be different of administrator view.
And you also in your case you should have tow different "overview" iViews, one for users one for administrators.
The "show tray" property should be yes (otherwise you won't see anyting ), but the property "Show Expand/Collapse icon in tray" to NO.

Derivation of Funds Center from cost center for Asset PR/PO in FM

Hello Experts,
We configured new FM area and relevant BCS settings. It is working fine except PR or PO for Account assignment category A.
Issue: system is not able derive funds center from cost center in the asset master. cost center is not updated in EBKN table for Asset PR.
we have maintained the following;
1. Funds center is activated in Asset account assignments
2. Maintained derivation rule with function module: FMDT_READ_MD_ASSET
3. Derivation rule for cost center to funds center also maintained
If maintain funds center manually in PR it is working fine and consuming budget also.
Requirement: How derive funds center from cost center assigned in asset. I have verified all tickets raised in this forum, but nothing has answered my question.
Request you to provide solution for above issue.

Hi Venkata,
You have two derivation rules, first related to Asset function module and second one is related to CC and FC combination.
You need to maintain the function module derivation rule first then you need to maintain the derivation rule related to combination of CC and FC. Because first you need to derive CC from asset master and then you need to derive fund center with reference to this CC.

Block all websites apart from the homepage for all users. Citrix environment with Server 2003.

Citrix Xenapp 5 and Windows server 2003 environment. We want to force Firefox to kiosk mode with a pre-set homepage for all users. I also want to lock this to only one website. I have managed to set up the kiosk mode with R-Kiosk addon and Mozilla.cfg file. I am trying to use BlockSites to block all internet sites and only allow the one site with the whitelist option. I can get the addon to install for all users, but can’t get the default settings across. I have tried to add this with the Mozilla.cfg file, but it looks like this addon is getting it’s settings from the profile folder. If I set the preferences for the addon in Mozilla,cfg file, it actually picks it up but it doesn’t apply it to the addon for some reason. Does anyone have any other ideas on how I can lock this down to the one site?

Unix command to stop Software updates for all users except admins?

I want to stop App Store and other software updates for all user accounts. Administrator accounts should still be able to do Software Updates.
Is there a terminal command that can do that i can push out through ARD?

Managed preferences are the best bet. You could use Profile Manager or use the mcx command from the command line. I'd strongly suggest browsing over this before delving into MCX though...

Data security (Data from SAP BW) for AD users

I have a scenario.
BO env : Business Objects 3.1 Sp3
Sap Integration kit Sp3
My target is to implement AD SSO & also provide data security for data from SAP BW. Currently there are no roles & authorization defined in the sap System. My plan was
Step 1:- Implement AD SSO in Business Objects
Step 2: Map the AD users in SAP system
Step 3:- Crate roles in SAP System
Step 4:- Assign the users roles
Steps 5:- (Not sure) :- Map the users (Now in SAP) to BO & then aliases them with the users from AD.
Pleas let me know if this would be correct approach... if not please suggest.... I am kind of new to SAP BO integration with experience in BO admin

Step 2: Import Windows AD groups in BO
Step 2- Setup Server-side SNC between BO and your SAP system
Step 3:- Create roles in SAP System and import them in BO
Step 4:- Assign SAP users the created roles
Step 5: - In the CMC create SAP aliases for your Windows AD accounts
Step 6: - Setup your reports and/or universe connections to use SSO.

PO delivery date field to be made display for all users except one user

I have a specific requirement:
The delivery date field in PO should be made display only at the time of changing the PO. I know pretty well that this can be achieved thru Define Screen Layout at document level, which inturn will make this field disaply mode to all users.
But it should be in changeable mode only for one user. how can we achieve this.

Hi ,
You can create a authorization object(Z one) which can be assigned to the user id who need authorization of change .
In the exit , you can specify the logic that if SY-USER (current user) has the authorization id , the system will allow to change . If the user doesn't have the object in his roles , the system would not allow to change .
This will help in providing / removing access to any user id .

Alternative UPN suffix exists for all users except new user

Hello,
I am updating AD based on how it was setup by an outside IT company. I am not an IT professional myself. When I view the current user properties on the account tab, each user has 2 options in the UPN drop box; namely, mydomain.local & mydomain.com.
All users are set to mydomain.com. I've added a new user to the same group in AD but there is only the mydomain.local option in the drop down. Does anyone know why or how I can get the two options so I can choose the mydomain.com?

If you add the Alternative UPN suffix correctly in
Active DIrectory Domains and trusts, you could choose the UPN suffix even for the new user account.
As other said, please make sure the Alternative UPN suffix is added, and create test user account to check the result.

DynPage - Store data in application scope (for ALL users)

I want to share data between ALL the users of this portal application (I am looking for something equal to Application Object in ASP.NET).
I thought of using 'Component Context storage' but according to note 802015 it's not recommended.

Tested "session object with SCOPE_COMPONENT/SCOPE_CONTEXT" with no success.
I thought of using servletContext but when dealing with portal applications the servletContext belongs to the "prt" servlet, meaning the value will be persistent as long as the portal is up...

Java closes IE for all users except admin - help!

I have citrix installed using AD and GPO's. If I login as administrator then I can use java fine. if I login as a user then anytime I try to goto a web site or luanch the java console it closes with no error messages. it is as if I didn't even run the application. I have enabled the setting int he GPO for java, is there another one I am mising?

I'd guess the 'legal' way to do this is via the Exchange Shell. Try Get-OWAVirtualDirectory | fl and see what the authentication methods are. Then try Get-ECPVirtualDirectory | fl
Try also looking at the properties of the ECP directory in IIS Manager, and see if IWA is enabled.
The settings should be configured using the shell, though, to make sure that what is stored in the Exchange configuration in AD correctly reflects what is set in IIS, which doesn't keep that sort of information in AD.

Override Company and Cost Center for FI Posting from HR Payroll

Hello all. I have this scenario with a company that was merged into another and retroactive payroll occurs for absences and extra time in the "old" company, but the "old" merged company is closed so no postings can occur.
I also found this unanswered post: How to Override Company and Cost Center for FI Posting from HR Payroll
We suppose that retroactive differences could be accounted in the new company code but I didnu2019t found any way to do it even in the BADI SMOD_PCPO0001 I couldnu2019t find a way to change the company code/cost center....
Does anyone have dealt with the same problem? What is the solution?

The CO account assignment object belongs to company code 0001, not 0057
Company code 0057 is now closed and has been merged into 0001. Cost center 14515 in the above doc was populated by my clone of RPCIPE00 and call to my BAdI which retrieved current company and cost center from PA0001. You can see from above that the 'header' data still shows 0057 and indeed, my version of RPCIPE00 only changes P_ITEM-BUKRS, P_ITEM-KOSTL and P_ITEM-SGTXT. It looks to me that fm HRPP_TRANSLATE_FICO gets the 'header' company code afresh. I was planning to leave WPBP-BUKRS (and all other Payroll data) alone (ie, not override company code).
As for your other question, we post retros to /551 and /552.

Function Module to Delimit From and to Date in Cost Center Master Data

I am using BAPI_COSTCENTER_CHANGE_MULTIPLE to change Cost Centers.
I am finding a Problem in changing the from and to date.
When i try to change the validity dates through standard transaction KS02
they have a Peculiar way of splitting the dates.
Is there any FM to split these dates?

I think you need to be a bit more descriptive about your issue. Are you trying to say that for the same cost center, you need to have different validity periods in the CSKS table. For eg:
KOSTL    DATBI     DATAB
100         23.02.2011     01.02.2011
100         31.12.9999     24.02.2011
Let me know if i am getting you correct here.
If this is the case, then while populating the BAPI table for cost center '100' (as in the example) you need to divide this into two different items. The data will be same for all the BAPI fields except DATAB and DATBI. Let me know if you need a code snippet for this.

I think no option other than cancellation.
You can try the the below scenario.
Try to receive the material into GR blocked stock using 103 if you want to use the material release it by 105
If you want to return then use movement type 124.
