Block personal contacts to outlook?

I have the emails from my outlook office getting into my blackberry, so all the contacts I have in my laptop outlook appears on the regular contacts in my blackberry and vice versa.
Of course I have entered in the address book of my blackberry other personal phone contacts that I dont want them to appear in the outlook contacts at my laptop.
How can I do that? I know that the contacts can be classified as personal or bussiness, and filter them in the contact list either way, but qhat I want is the personal contacts to not be showed on the outlook at my PC, only on my blackberry. And the outlook contacts showed in both of them. is this possible?
Thanks,

delete the personal contacts in Outlook.
set them with category = personal on the device.
do the sync.

  • Unable to open personal contact list Outlook 2010

Error when opening a personal contact list.  To my knowledge it has not been edited in a newer version of Outlook as we all use Outlook 2010.  Even tried restoring from 6 month old backup when it was supposed to have worked.  Any ideas how
    to get past this?
    Error:
this contact group has been edited with a newer version of outlook and contains too many members to display.

Well. Does the DL have more than 5000 contacts in it?  If so, that may cause a problem due to Exchange's 5000 recipient limit for sent emails.
Where is personal distrubution list stored in your scenario? Stored in OST and sync with mailbox, or backup in the local PST file?
If other contact groups and contacts can be opened just fine, it seems the issue may occur if the problematic contact groups is corrupted itself.
You can take a chance to open it via MFCMAPI tool. If it even cannot be open, I think it cannot be recovered unless we do a single mailbox recovery.

  • How do I transfer contact from outlook on a pc to new I-phone s without i-Cloud

I just bought a personal i-phone 5s and want to transfer my personal contacts in Outlook on a PC to my personal phone without using i-cloud. Is there a way to do this?

  • Sync contacts w/ outlook 2003 - pulls Exchange address instead of e-mail address

I have a new blackberry curve, and am having a frustrating problem when trying to sync my personal contacts in outlook with my Blackberry.  Problem is that for any contact that I have that is also on our MS Exchange server when I sync, the address that ends up on the blackberry looks like this:
    /o=Arvin/ou=ArvinMeritorWHQ/cn=Recipients/cn=smithec
    instead of
    [email protected]
I have my e-mail service through our owa client, so when I try to send an e-mail to one of my contacts, it fails unless I manually type in their e-mail address.
When I look at the contact details in outlook, it shows the e-mail address in the proper format, [email protected] but when I sync what ends up in the e-mail field in the contact list on my blackberry is the longer format that does not work.
Does anyone know how to get the correct e-mail address to sync onto my blackberry?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ernie

  • Personal contacts end up in my Outlook contacts

    Hi all..
    Background:
    - I have access to my work email (Outlook) through my iPhone, including my calendar and contacts..
    - In my phone contacts the groups I have are "All contacts", "From my PC (All from my PC)", "Work (All work; Contacts; and Suggested Contacts)" and "work global address list"
    Problem:
    - I have just noticed that personal contacts that have recently been entered into my iPhone are appearing in my Outlook contacts list (on my PC)
    - These new contacts from my phone are in the "Work (All work) and Work (All contacts)" groups, as well as "all contacts"
    - If I delete the contact from my contacts list in Outlook (on my PC), it is completely removed from my phone
    - BUT, if I re-enter the contact on my phone, through "All contacts", it appears back in my "work" group and back in Outlook on my PC.
    My questions:
    - How can I prevent my personal contacts going into the work contact group on my phone and in Outlook on my PC?
    - I still want my work contacts on my phone, just separate, and I do not want my personal contacts ending up in my outlook on the PC
    Cheers =)

    Is anyone able to assist???

  • How can I prevent personal contacts from syncing with Exchange corporate email?

I have my phone synching with my work Exchange server over ActiveSync, and have 2 personal email accounts (POP and IMAP).  The 2 personal accounts are also configured in Outlook 2010 on my home computer.  Itunes is also installed on this computer.
I want my contacts from my 2 personal accounts to sync to my phone (which is working), but not have them sync to my work account (this part is not working the way I want).  I now have all my personal contacts uploaded to my work account.  How can I remove the contacts from my work account without removing them from my phone?

Unless you are in the same household, the agreement for Mountain Lion does not allow the setup you have now.
You need to spend another US$30 and buy an additional copy and get that other MacBook on its own unique Apple_ID.

  • How can I have unified contacts across outlook, iphone and gmail?

I am new to iPhone and cannot seem to get something that I really enjoyed on my blackberry, unified contacts across all three platforms.  I use Outlook for work and Gmail for personal.  I had it set up on my blackberry that I had one set of contacts, not separated by outlook or gmail.  The goal was to have the same set of contacts in all three places.  Any changes made in any place, outlook, gmail, or blackberry, was reflected in all three places.
Is there a way to do this on the iPhone?  I had set up my iPhone to sync with gmail and outlook, but it created two sets of contacts, so when I searched for a person, it would show two or more records.  I just want one contact list.  Is there a way to turn off the contact seperation and just have one list?  I just want to be able to make a change in any of the three places and have it reflected across all three.
I have both work and gmail set up via exchange for push email and syncing.

The contacts had to be separated on your Blackberry but were viewed as combined, which is possible with the iPhone's Contacts app.
With my iPhone, I sync business contacts over the air with my company Exchange account, and I sync personal contacts over the air with iCloud account - former MobileMe account. My personal iCloud contacts are also synced with the Address Book on my Mac and I would be doing the same with my Exchange business contacts but we aren't using a compatible Exchange Server software in order for me to do that. If I was doing so, my business contscts and my personal contacts would be separated in the Address Book on my Mac and I would have the ability to view business and personal contacts combined or separately as I can with my business and personal contacts on my iPhone.
Does Outlook support syncing your Gmail online contacts so your personal contacts would be kept synchronized between the three - Outlook, Google online address book, and your iPhone?
If you are syncing contacts over the air with your iPhone and syncing contacts direct with a supported address book app on your computer via the iTunes sync process, the contacts will be duplicated on your iPhone - one set stored locally, and one set stored in the online address book for the email account.

  • How can i remove duplicates and certain contacts on Outlook and my iPhone?

I use the Outlook mail and contact program on my PC with a Windows 7 operating system, which I sync with my iPhone5.
After installing the iCloud program, I now have duplicate and sometimes quadruplicate contacts.
    1. How can I remove the duplicates?
    2. How can I be selective about which contacts I want to share on iCloud, in other words, can I share only certain contact categories/folders like work contacts or personal contacts?
    3. How can I "uncloud" specific contacts and have them appear only on my computer and not on my iPhone?
    4. Is there a way to restore accidently deleted contacts?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Connect the device to the computer.
Select what is desired to sync.
    Sync.

  • Notes in a contact in OUtlook are no longer synched with my contacts on iphone

Hi I noticed recently that the notes that I make about a person in their contact in Outlook is no longer synched with the Iphone.
Does anybody know if there is a way to make this synch again?

    What about the opposite way:
Create a test contact on iCloud, wait a few minutes, do you see it on the Mac?
In Mac's Contacts > Preferences... > Accounts > Is the iCloud account enabled?

  • Separate business and personal contacts/calendar on Exchange enabled phone?

I'm a new iPhone user (3gsi) with Exchange support enabled. What I would like to do is manage my business and personal contacts and calendar separately with work items syncing with Exchange and personal items with something else (like Google Calendar/Contacts). Is it possible to separate this way and possibly even manage it all together using the existing calendar and contact apps? I am not interested in the MobileMe service.
Example - I add a personal contact and I dont want it to sync with Exchange, but Google contacts would be nice. Or I add a calendar item that I want to sync with Google calendar instead of Exchange.
    Thx!

With an Exchange account syncing business contacts and calendar events over the air, you can also sync personal contacts and calender events direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process. You can view business and personal contacts and calendar events combined or separately on the iPhone.
With Windows, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007. With a Mac, this can be with the Address Book and iCal.
Or you can sync personal contacts and calendar events over the air with a MobileMe account while doing the same for business contacts and calendar events with an Exchange account.
You can access a Gmail account as an Exchange account via ActiveSync with the iPhone's Mail client, which provides for syncing personal contacts and calendar events over the air, but you can't access two Exchange accounts via ActiveSync with the iPhone's Mail client. This is not supported with ActiveSync with a Windows Mobile device either.

  • Keeping Business and Personal Contacts Separate?

I have a MS Exchange account at work and use Entourage for my personal contacts on my home computer.
Would it be possible to have both sets of info sync to my phone? I know the iphone has active sync for the Exchange data but then, would it be possible to sync with my home computer without having them then uploaded to my company's exchange server next time activesync connects?
I imagine a lot of people would want to do something like this??

  • Feature to block a contact on iMessage

I am currently being harassed, and threats to my life are sent to me daily through iMessage, should I choose to enable it.
I pay each month a fee to AT&T to block that number from calling and texting me, but they have an open conduit to make my life ****, via iMessage.
I have had this problem for a year now, and two police reports have done nothing to stop this harassment.
Why should I have to disable a feature like iMessage, or switch numbers yet again, just for peace of mind?
Wouldn't it be a basic feature/service/capability that should be included, or at least thought about well in advance of a release of such a feature?
Why has no one thought about being able to block a contact from messaging another via iMessage?
Does anyone read the hundreds of posts internet-wide, and the tens of posts on the apple community discussions, and think maybe they should fix this?
Soon to switch to android because of this,
    Lee

If someone is sending threats to your life, you need to take yourself (and your iPhone) to local police/law enforcement, or contact the nearest FBI field office. The fact that there's no button to block this person is secondary to the threatening nature of their messages, which should be your first priority. Yes, maybe it's nothing and maybe nothing will happen, but if, God forbid, the person snaps and comes after you, wouldn't it be better if the police had a heads up about this person?
As for the phone, maybe you should write to one of those "7 On Your Side"/iTeam news reporting departments that cover (and sometimes help with) consumer issues like this one. Maybe some press about it will inspire a change from Apple.

  • How to Control the Sorting Order of iPhone Contacts from Outlook?

In a series of editing steps we've loaded ca. 1,900 personal and business contacts from Outlook into a 1st gen iPhone with 2.0.1 software on it. To our surprise we found that while most of the entries were listed and sorted by company, certain entries were listed and sorted by the person's name. It looked random and there didn't seem to be any way to control it on the iPhone.
While troubleshooting the problem we synced up the iPhone with an empty Address Book on a MacBook Pro and found that the sort order flag was indeed set differently on these entries. When we changed the sorting flag of a contact in the Mac's Address Book to "Company" it also changed on the iPhone after the next sync.
Problem: In our business environment it is impossible to switch to Macs for contact administration. We need to do it from Outlook. This is one of several features needed for the adoption of iPhones.
Question: Is there a way to control this flag on the individual iPhone contact entries from Outlook Contacts?

Well, I think we figured it out.
Outlook doesn't offer a sorting flag on person or company name. Instead it uses a separate "File As" string. The problem with our contacts was that this "File As" string was frequently edited to be something else than exactly the personal or company name, e.g. it was set to an abbreviated company name. Once we set the "File As" to any of the defaults offered, i.e. person or company name, the sorting flag in iPhone was properly set through the synchronization.
Obviously, the application logic compares the content of these fields in Outlook and decides how to set the flag. If it can't find the company name in "File As" it defaults to person.
This was an expensive holdup for us. It cost us 2 man days to figure it out. Is there any place where such application logic is described?

  • Will I lose my personal contacts if I add an Exchange/Active Sync account?

I read that if I configure my business Exchange account via active sync I will lose my personal contacts on the phone. True?

i set mine up for Exchange today and when I went to turn on Contacts it warned me this it would replace all my contacts with the ones from Exchange. Since I have all of my Personal contacts in a group on Exchange/Outlook anyway it was Ok for me. Once you are setup to sync with Exchange and Contacts it no longer sync with the Contacts on your computer.
What worked out well for me was I was just testing the Exchange piece so I later turned off Contact synching and it erased all of the Contacts on my Touch. Then, the next time I synched with my computer I had the option to sync Contacts again from the computer and that put me back to the way I was before playing with the Exchange piece.

  • Separating business and personal contacts

I recently moved to a BlackBerry Curve from a Palm Treo.  Our company used to use Goodlink to sync data from Outlook to my device.  In order to keep my personal contact information private I created a separate contacts folder in Outlook which did not sync with my company's servers.  I then used PocketMirror to sync the extra file to the phone.  It wasn't the cleanest solution as I had business contacts in Goodlink and personal contacts in the phone's contact file, but it worked.
I want to keep my personal contact information off of my company's server.  Is there any way to do this with the Curve?

    Hi,
So why Agenda is working fine and doesn't synchronise private meeting ?
I am sure that field "Private" is missing in BB Software !
    BB, please fix-it !
